The purpose of this research is to reveal the form and pattern of lexical shift either lexically or grammatically by (1) to describe the form of grammatical metaphor of academic text, and (2) to describe the pattern of lexical shift in academic texts. The type of this research is qualitative research using Functional Systemic Linguistic approach. The academic texts was analyzed using theory of M.A.K. Halliday. The data in this study are words, phrases, clauses, and sentences in academic texts that undergo lexical and sentence shifts. The data source in this research is thesis of Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program in the year of 2015. Data collection techniques are documentation, reading, and record technique. The results found forms of grammatical metaphor which include (1) nominalization, (2) groups of nouns, and (3) simplex phrases. The lexic shift patterns found in this study include: (1) verbs to nouns, (2) adjectives to nouns, (3) adverbs to nouns, and (4) nouns to nouns.

The objective of the research is to improve students' writing poetry skill.  There are twenty four third semester students' of Indonesia Language and literature study program of STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau in this research. The research design was classroom action research. Test was used in data collection. The test was analyzed to know the mean score in pre-action, cycle I, and cycle II. The technique of data analysis was done by sum up the scores from the indicator assessment that obtained by the students. The results showed that learning mastery in writing poetry in pre-action was 45.83% meanwhile  in cycle I was 70.83%, and  learning mastery improved 91.66%  in cycle II. In summary, students' ability in writing poetry improved through type VAK quantun learning. Keywords: Quantum, poetry, writing skill.

This research was conducted to find out the forms of errors made by the 3rd semester 2016 students of Japanese Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Udayana University in understanding and using the words with the kanji letters found in the Intermediate Kanji Book Vol. 1. The problems discussed in this study, namely 1) what is the fault of students in understanding and using words with starch in the Intermediate Kanji Book Vol. 1; 2) how to overcome errors in understanding and using words with kanji in the Intermediate Kanji Book Vol. 1. The purpose of this study is to find out the forms of errors made by students in understanding and using words with kanji in the Intermediate Kanji Book Vol. And find a way to overcome these errors. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with documentation method and test method which is continued with note taking technique. The documentation method in this study is a collection of questions that have been filled in with answers by informants. While the test method is an instrument of data collection through a series of questions / exercises distributed to students. The population in this study were all students of the 3rd Semester of the 2016 Class of Japanese Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences Universitas Udayana. The determination of the population is based on the consideration that the 3rd semester 2016 students have been taught material contained in the Intermediate Kanji Book Vol. 1. Through this research, the forms of student errors mentioned above will be able to be broken down and find solutions to overcome them. And the results of this study can be used as teaching materials for lecturers and study materials for students majoring in Japanese literature.

This research is descriptive qualitative research that examines theatrical performances of scripts. It is forbidden to sing in the bathroom. The work of Seno GumiraAjiDarma is the study of semiotic carlesanderspearce. The formulation of the problem in this research is how the study of semiotics in the tetater show had once been conducted by the PBSI Study Program using the study of semiotic carles sanders Pearce. Data collection techniques using documentation techniques, note, and see. The analysis technique used is reducing data, promising data, and verifying data. From the results of the study concluded that the semiotics that appear on signs and markers in the form of symbols are the dance of the bathroom, sound, and the shadow of the bathroom. The index aspect is in the form of actor actions in the form of exoticism, anxiety, admiration, exoticism, and the imagination of the actor. The iconic aspect is shown in one of the events, namely the social environment in the form of a house, bathroom, and boarding house.

This article discussed the phonemic correspondence in Sundanese and Javanese using a historical comparative linguistic approach. The problem to be examined in this study is the form of phonemic correspondence in Sundanese and Javanese. The purpose of this study was to determine the phonemic correspondence sets in the comparison between Sundanese and Javanese. The method used in this research to analyze the data is the phonemic correspondence method. The correspondence method is used to find the relationship between languages ​​in the field of language sounds (phonology). Phonemic correspondence is used to determine regular phonemic changes in the languages ​​being compared. Data collection used interview techniques, note techniques and recording techniques. After the data is collected, then the data is classified according to the problem being studied and grouped into more specifics. After that, conclusions will be made based on the results of the data analysis. The data source obtained comes from 200 swadesh vocabularies in Sundanese and Javanese. From 200 swadesh vocabulary data found 49 data included in phonemic correspondence which is divided into 12 correspondence sets. The results of this study include the formation of correspondences in Sundanese and Javanese, namely, (ɛ ~ i) and (i ~ ɛ), (a ~ ɔ) and (ɔ ~ a), (d ~ D), (t ~ T) , (ɤ ~ ə), (b ~ w), (ɔ ~ u) and (ɔ ~ U), (i ~ I), (ø ~ h) and (h ~ ø), (ø ~ m), and (a ~ ə).

<p>This research aimed to describe the characteristics of hyperactive children and analyze methods of Islamic guidance and counseling in instilling discipline of Duha prayer in hyperactive children in MI Nurul Islam Ngaliyan Semarang. This research is qualitative research. The data source is a teacher as well as a hyperactive child. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that hyperactive children have discipline problems in implementing the Duha prayer in congregation. Islamic guidance and counseling methods used to embed discipline of Duha prayer for hyperactive children consisting of four methods: the method of habituation, role model, motivation and supervision.</p><p align="center"><strong>***</strong></p><p>Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan karakteristik anak hiperaktif dan menganalisis metode bimbingan dan konseling Islam dalam menanamkan kedisiplinan shalat dhuha pada anak hiperaktif di MI Nurul Islam Ngaliyan Semarang. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah guru serta anak hiperaktif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertama anak hiperaktif memiliki problem kedisiplinan dalam melaksanakan shalat dhuha berjamaah. Kedua, metode bimbingan dan konseling Islam yang digunakan untuk menanamkan kedisiplian shalat dhuha bagi anak hiperaktif terdiri dari empat metode yaitu metode pembiasaan, metode tauladan, metode nasehat (motivasi), dan metode pengawasan ketika shalat dhuha berjamaah berlangsung.</p>

This research aims at finding out students’ personal initiative towards their achievement in speaking English. This research was conducted in an English department at a university in North Sulawesi Indonesia. The data were obtained from the sixth semester students in English Language and Literature study program of academic year 2015/2016 consisting of 21 students. In obtaining the data about students’ personal initiative, a questionnaire was distributed, and for the speaking performance, the data were obtained from students’ scores in Public Speaking subject. To find out the relation between these two variables, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient formula was used. The result of this research shows that there is a correlation between students’ personal initiative towards their speaking performance with the value of  = (0.52) categorized as a moderate correlation. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that personal initiative of students was important to be considered as one of several determination factors for students’ achievement in English speaking skill. It is suggested that students encourage themselves for taking initiative to speak, and for the teacher to give the students correction and suggestion to help them develop themselves.

Abstract The Conception of Community Life in Petatah Petitih Minangkabau with The Indigeneous Approach. This study aims to identify the Minangkabau conceptions values as depicted in the petatah petitih Minang (proverb). This research examines Minang Proverb with the Indigenous Psychology approach. Qualitative research methods, describing, interpreting the concept of values in the Minangkabau community which is illustrated by the Minang proverb. The data collection technique used is desk research and interview. Sources of literature study are from the Minangkabau Adat textbook obtained from the Rumah Gadang Minangkabau pavilion in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Jakarta; the results of previous studies / research, and relevant information from online mass media. Online Interview was conducted with the Chief Advisor of the Bundo Kanduang Council Organization Advisor Solok City, West Sumatra. The results show that there are ten values or Minangkabau life concept which are contained in the Minang proverb which is inherent in the Minang identity, namely; hiduik baraka, baukue jo bajangko; baso basi –malu jo sopan; tenggang raso; loyal; fair; thrifty; watchful; braveness; wise diligent and humble. Key words: Minangkabau conceptions, Minang proverb, Indigenous psychology Abstrak Konsep Pola Hidup Masyarakat dalam Petatah Petitih Minangkabau dengan Pendekatan Indigenius. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konsepsi nilai-nilai adat yang berkaitan dengan pola hidup masyarakat Minangkabau (Minang) yang tergambar dalam Petatah Petitih (pepatah) Minang. Penelitian ini mengkaji psikologi yang lekat pada budaya adat Minangkabau yang tertuang dalam Pepatah Minang dengan pendekatan Indigenous Psychology (Psikologi Indigenius). Metode penelitian kualitatif, yakni menggambarkan, menafsirkan konsepsi nilai-nilai adat pada masyarakat Minangkabau yang tergambar pepatah Minang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan cara studi kepustakaan (desk research) dan wawancara. Sumber studi kepustakaan adalah dari buku teks Adat Minangkabau yang diperolah dari anjungan Rumah Gadang Minangkabau di Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) Jakarta; hasil kajian/penelitian sebelumnya, dan informasi yang relevan dari media massa daring. Wawancara dilakukan kepada Ketua Penasehat Organisasi Bundo Kanduang Kota Solok Sumatera Barat secara daring. Hasil menunjukan terdapat sepuluh nilai atau konsep pola hidup masyarakat Minang yang tertuang dalam pepatah minang yang melekat pada jati diri orang Minang yakni; hiduik baraka, baukue jo bajangko; baso basi-malu jo sopan; tenggang raso; setia; adil; hemat cermat; waspada; berani karena benar; arif bijaksana; rajin dan rendah hati. This article aims to describe the historical development of comparative literature and its current issues. Comparative literature is a mandatory course in the Indonesian language and literature study program in most Indonesian universities. There are at least six books used as common references in teaching comparative literature in Indonesia. However, these books have not covered recent development in comparative literature, especially the emergence of Chinese school and some new directions within comparative literature. This literature review article collects references from selective authoritative sources on the internet to describe the historical development of comparative literature and its current issues. This article shows that the expansions in comparative literature are intricate with deconstruction and reconstruction of world literature, dialogue and the meeting between West and East, and the presence of the digital age. From the dialogue on world literature and West meeting East vice versa, the Chinese school has its foundation, whilst the presence of the digital age makes comparative literature have new things to explore and work on the usage of the different medium in an umbrella term, intermediality.

<p><em>This study aims to: increase a deeper understanding of the value of tattwa education in Tutur Parakriya. This data is obtained using a method, and this method must also be precise so that the data obtained can be accurate and support the research results. This type of research is qualitative because it is a text research or library research whose primary data source is Tutur Parakriya which has been transcribed into text / text form. Literature study and interviews are used as data collection methods and then descriptive qualitative data processing is performed. As far as researchers know, no one has researched about this papyrus, so it is only based on text / text transcripts. This research uses the concept foundation to describe the problems to be discussed, and as a scalpel uses the theory of meaning and hermeneutic theory.</em><em> </em><em>The results of Tutur Parakriya's research contain the value of tattwa education, that is advice or advice to teach Hindus to be able to get the perfection of birth and mind.</em></p>

Community Service with the theme Marketing  the Potential  Tourism of Pagaralam for the Middle East people is aimed to advocate  the public to be aware of tourism and to become independent tourism ambassadors for their own region. The team from the Arabic Language and Literature Study Program collaborated with the community represented by the academic community of the Al-Azhar Islamic Boarding School to develop a social media-based tourism marketing pattern (Youtube). This process begins with brainstorming, composing a narrative text, translating text into Arabic, taking pictures and video, editing, and downloading video to Youtube. The result of the program is the appearance of a short video in Arabic as a form of marketing the potential  tourism of Pagaralam to the Middle East people.
