Blood analyses can be used to assess the health and physiological conditions of wild animals and may provide a precise picture of disease, habitat quality, and other environmental factors. The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between the age and the selected biochemical parameters of the female mouflon (Ovis musimon L.). This study creates a possible reference range of biochemical parameter concentrations in mouflon and aims to extend the knowledge of this wild game species within our geographical region. There have not been many studies dealing with this issue in our geographical region. A total of 57 female mouflons aged between 1 and 6 years (1–3 years n = 32, 4–6 years n = 25) and in good physical condition, with an average live weight between 32 and 40 kg were included in the research experiment between the two years. A total of 15 selected biochemical parameters were analyzed. Using statistical analysis, we noticed significant effects of age on almost three-quarters of analyzed biochemical parameters. A statistically significant correlation was observed between age and the parameters of glucose, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, bilirubin, cholesterol, creatinine, high-density lipoprotein, calcium, triglycerides, and urea. An evaluation of the European mouflon’s biochemical parameters during the whole year may be a reliable method for judging a herd’s condition, diagnosing medical disorders, and preventing the etiology of their occurrence. An analysis of biochemical parameters tells us about the functioning of individual organs as well as the animals’ metabolism. Knowledge of the values of blood parameters is of special importance because they allow us to gather more information on mouflons.

<p class="RSCB01ARTAbstract"><strong>Objective</strong>:<strong> </strong>The aim of this study was to characterise the resveratrol inclusion complex with β-cyclodextrin (RCD) and evaluate their toxicity in wistar rats.</p><p class="RSCB01ARTAbstract"><strong>Methods: </strong>The RCD were prepared in ultra-turrax. For characterization of the RCD were used: Fourier transform infra-red Spectroscopy, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray powder diffraction. The RCD and others 4 treatments were performed by the chronic oral administration in 35 rats during 60 ds. After the treatments they were euthanized and the serum blood were collected to analyzed some hemogram and biochemical parameters including aspartyl aminotransferase (AST); alanine aminotransferase (AST); phosphatase alkaline (ALP); total bilirubin (TB); direct bilirubin (DB); total protein (TP); total cholesterol (TC), triacylglycerol (TAG), very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), calcium, iron and phosphate using fully automated biochemistry analyzer.</p><p class="RSCB01ARTAbstract"><strong>Results: </strong>The characterization results indicated a successful formation of the RCD. All hematological parameters analysed were within the normal values in all the groups. Furthermore, the hemogram and biochemical parameters were significantly (P&gt;0.05) similar to the control group.</p><p class="RSCB01ARTAbstract"><strong>Conclusion: </strong>The daily oral administration during 60 d of RCD are not harmful on blood parameters of Wistar rats. Thus, RCD can be used safely for treatment of some metabolic diseases.</p>

The results of the experiment on feeding the probiotic “Active East”  to young fattening pigs are presented. Its inclusion in the diet of animals stimulated an increase in the digestibility of the main nutrients of the diet while increasing the gross and average daily gain in live weight. The use of a probiotic preparation did not adversely affect the morphological and biochemical parameters of the blood.

The article presents the influence of biopreparations containing nanoparticles of cobalt and cuprum on the physiological state of Holstein heifers in a case of adding them to the diet. We have studied parameters of the animals’ growth and development in dynamics of live weight gain, clinical and biochemical blood parameters, the leucogram and amino acid composition of the experiment animals’ blood during the experiment.

Increasing the milk productivity of cows is the main task facing the livestock industry of our country. The study of some hematological and biochemical blood parameters in dairy cows when different feed additives are included in their rations is an urgent research task. The purpose of the investigations was to study the hematological and biochemical parameters of the blood of lactating cows when using different feed additives in the ration. During the investigations, the influence of feed additives such as Zaslon 2+ (at a dose of 20 g/head/day to the main ration), Diatomite (100 g/head/day to the main ration) and Monosporin (70 g/head/day to the main ration) on the hematological and biochemical blood parameters of lactating cows has been observed. The studied feed additives are used for the adsorption of mycotoxins in feed, normalization of digestive processes, and improvement of the livability and productivity of farm animals. In order to study the influence of the tested feed additives on the hematological parameters of the blood of lactating cows under the conditions of the Troitsky area in the Chelyabinsk region, on four groups of cows selected according to the principle of analogues (age, live weight, productivity, breed, physiological condition) the scientific and economic experiment has been carried out. As the result of the investigations, data have been obtained indicating that the feed additive Zaslon 2+ at the dose of 20 g/head/day has the greatest effect on the metabolism in the body of lactating cows.

Apparent digestibility coefficients and serum parameters were measured to evaluate the effect of supplementing feed concentrates with rice bran oil in horses. Twelve horses (6 males and 6 females) with a mean age of 18 ± 4 months old and mean live weight of 306 ± 22.6 kg were used. Treatments consisted of increasing rice bran oil concentrate levels of 0, 3.5, 7.0, 10.5, 14.0 and 17.5%, considering a daily intake of 2.25% live weight on a dry matter basis. A dietary effect of supplementation on the apparent digestibility of gross energy (y = 64.55 - 0.58x) was observed (P<0.05). No effect on the other nutrients was observed (P>0.05). Supplementation did not affect serum glucose levels (P>0.05), but cholesterol was affected (P<0.01) based on the interaction of the treatment x gender parameter in females (y = 73.92 + 2.08x). However, no effect was observed in males (P>0.05). A dietary effect on the triglyceride (y = 15.73 - 0.96x + 0.0524x²) and HDL (high-density lipoprotein) (y = 45.24 + 1.0499x) parameters was observed (P<0.01). While the use of rice bran oil does affect blood parameters associated with lipid metabolism, rice bran oil levels up to 17.5% concentrate do not negatively affect the apparent digestibility of dietary nutrients.

The studies' results of blood and biochemical parameters of its serum in broiler chickens exposed to high ambient temperatures are presented. Heat stress causes physiological changes in the poultry body, which negatively affects its health, feed intake and digestibility, productivity and product quality. To alleviate the poultry condition, a water-soluble powder of the Termovet preparation of acetylsalicylic acid (750 mg/1 g) was used for oral administration. As well as Prodactive Acid SE - a mixture of organic acids. The chicks' growing period was 34 days. The main period of the experiment began when the poultry reached an average live weight of 1680 g at the age of 4 weeks. Upon reaching an average live weight of 2030 g within 6 days before withdrawal from the experiment, the room was heated to 35 °C from 8 am to 6 pm. At this time, Termovet preparation was poured into the drinkers in the following doses: experimental group I - 100 mg/kg of live weight, experimental group II - 150 mg/kg. Both experimental groups were given Prodactive Acid SE last thing at night in a dose that provided water pH of 4. Research results have shown that the use of these preparations had a positive effect on the hematological and biochemical parameters of chickens when exposed to high temperatures.

Abstract This research was conducted to compare performance, some blood parameters, bone quality and musculus pectoralis pH level in broiler flocks containing 15,000 (I), 25,000 (II) and 35,000 (III) birds. For this purpose, two different flocks from each capacity were simultaneously observed throughout two growth periods in summer and autumn seasons. A total of 20 broilers (10 males and 10 females) per different flock capacity, having stable live weight were selected on 32nd day of growing period. Broiler chickens were slaughtered by decapitation and their blood samples were drained into special tubes. Musculus pectoralis pH measurement was performed ten minutes after slaughter. Bones were extracted from meat and analyzed. Live weights of groups on days 1, 7, 14, 21, 28 and on the day of slaughter were similar to each other (P>0.05). The mortality rate was lower in group I (P≤0.01). Feed efficiency deteriorated negligibly in group III (P=0.078). Serum glucose and uric acid levels were high in group III (P≤0.01). Intergroup differences in serum total cholesterol, very-low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL), triglycerides, protein levels and enzyme activities of alkaline phosphatase and creatine kinase were statistically insignificant (P>0.05). Dimensions, weights and ash level of tibia and femur, bone mineral density (BMD) and bone mineral content (BMC) of tibia were observed to have similar values among the groups (P>0.05). Musculus pectoralis pH level in groups I, II and III was determined as 5.93, 5.94 and 6.13, respectively (P≤0.05).

This experiment was carried out to determine the effects of housing types and sex on growth and blood parameters of Arbor Acre broiler chickens. Three hundred (300) chicks, at two weeks of age were divided into two groups (male and female) each containing 150 birds. Each group was randomly sub-divided into two housing systems (deep litter and deep litter with run) consisting of three replicates with 25 birds per replicate and were fed ad libitum. Data collected were subjected to one-way analysis of variance in a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement. The housing type had no significant effect on the growth parameters measured. However, weight gain, feed intake and protein intake were influenced (p<0.05) by sex. The effect of interaction between housing type and sex on the growth performances showed that male in the two housing systems had better (p<0.05) performances than female. However, the female chickens in deep litter performed better (p<0.05) than their female counterpart in deep litter with run. Haematological and biochemical parameters were not influenced by the main effect of housing type and sex. The interaction effect between the housing types and sex on the haematological and serum biochemical parameters had effect (p<0.05) only on basophil and aspartate transferase. It was concluded that Arbor acre male broiler chickens can be raised on any of the housing types while female should be raised only on deep litter for better performance.

The biochemical blood parameters characterizing the students ’nutritional status were evaluated: protein, lipid, carbohydrate metabolism, a number of minerals. The mean values, errors of the mean, median (Me), boundary (Q) and the range of 25–75 percentiles were determined. In 9.1 % of students and 28.6 % of students, the total protein was increased. Creatinine in men was in the upper normal range, in women — at the upper limit of normal, of which 46.2 % was higher than normal. The interval Q25–75 of uric acid in students is determined in the lower normal zone. In 40.0 % of men, decreased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (Q25–75 corresponded to 1.15–1.79), in women — below normal, Q25–75 5 was 1.3–1.5, decreased in 73.3 %. Me and Q25–75 iron were in the lower normal range; 14.1 % of men and 13.2 % of women are below normal. Me sodium and potassium at the level of the lower boundary of the norm, Q25–75 in the lower zone of the norm: in 16.0 % and 15.4 % of students the levels are reduced. Calcium is slightly above the lower limit of the norm, Q25–75–2.1–2.24, indicating an insufficient intake in the whole group; 25.0 % are below normal. The border of the 25th percentile of magnesium is at the level of the lower border of the norm, in 19.2 % it is reduced. 7.2 % lack of chlorine. Phosphorus is normal, but Q25–75 is in the upper zone; 17.9 % increased. Biochemical markers can identify individuals with metabolic disorders of nutrients. Statistical indicators — the median, the boundaries of 25–75 quartiles and their scope characterize the metabolism of macronutrients and minerals in the group and subgroups of students. Laboratory and mathematical methods can provide a basis for identifying the specific causes of these changes. For this, you can use the questionnaire method of studying the nutrition of students, possibly using the developed questionnaires for a specific situation.

Fasting is becoming an increasingly popular practice. Nevertheless, its clinical benefits and possible inconveniences remain limitedly evaluated. We observed the effects of a seven-day fast conducted in a non-medical center located in the Swiss Alps. Clinical parameters were measured on the first and last day of fasting (D1 and D7), and two months later (D60). Among the 40 participants, blood analyses were done on 25 persons with an increased metabolic risk, with the primary goal of assessing the lasting effect on low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. By comparing D60 with D1, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) (+0.15 mmol/L) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) (+2.05 mmol/L) increased (both p < 0.009), all other blood parameters (LDL, glucose, total cholesterol, triglycerides, C-reactive protein (CRP)) did not change; weight (−0.97 kg) and hearth rate (−7.31 min−1) decreased (both p < 0.006). By comparing D7 with D1, total cholesterol (+0.44 mmol/L), triglycerides (+0.37 mmol/L) and CRP (+3.37 mg/L) increased (all p < 0.02). The lack of LDL variation at D60 may be due to the low metabolic risk level of the participants. The increase of total cholesterol, triglycerides and CRP at D7 warrants studies to understand whether such fluctuations represent a stress reaction to the fasting state, which may vary in different fasting types.
