ABSTRAK Kurma merupakan salah satu buah dengan kandungan gizi terlengkap. Selain tinggi energi terutama karbohidrat (glukosa, fruktosa), kurma juga mengandung mineral besi yang berperan dalam metabolisme energi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh kurma terhadap berat badan tikus (Rattus novergicus). Jenis penelitian eksperimental laboratorik dengan pre-post test with control grup. Sampel adalah 24 ekor tikus putih jantan (Rattus novergicus) strain Wistar, dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok, yaitu kelompok K1 (kontrol negatif), dan K2 (kontrol positif (diberikan suplemen FeSO )), P1 (perlakuan ekstrak air kurma mentah), dan P2 (perlakuan sari kurma). Analisis data dengan uji paired t-test untuk mengetahui perbedaan berat badan pre-post test, ANOVA untuk mengetahui perbedaan berat badan post test antar kelompok, yang dilanjutkan dengan post hoc test LSD, dengan α=0,01. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terjadi peningkatan berat badan pada semua kelompok sampel (K1, K2, P1, dan P2). Peningkatan berat badan tertinggi pada kelompok kontrol positif (K1) 11,12%, diikuti oleh kelompok perlakuan SK (P2) 11,00%, dan perlakuan EAKM (P1) 10,90%, sedangkan yang terendah pada kelompok kontrol negatif (K1) hanya 5,32%. Hasil analisis paired t-Test pada kelompok kontrol positif (K2), perlakuan EAKM (P1) dan SK (P2) menunjukan terdapat perbedaan berat badan pre- post test yang signifikan (p<0,01). Hasil analisis One Way Anova, diperoleh nilai p=0,000 (p<0,01) yang menandakan terdapat perbedaan berat badan post test yang signifikan antar 4 kelompok, di mana post hoc test LSD menunjukan perbedaan terletak antara kontrol negatif (K1) dengan kelompok yang diberikan perlakuan (K2, P1, dan P2), sedangkan diantara kelompok K2, P1, dan P2 tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan. Kesimpulan: Kurma dapat meningkatkan berat badan tikus yang mengalami anemia defisiensi besi. Pengaruh kurma terhadap berat badan tikus sama dengan pengaruh dari pemberian suplemen FeSO4. Peningkatan berat badan tikus tanpa perlakuan sangat rendah jika dibandingkan dengan peningkatan berat badan tikus yang diberikan kurma dan suplemen FeSO .Kata Kunci: kurma (Pheonix dactylifera L.); ekstrak air kurma mentah (EAKM), sari kurma (SK), suplemen FeSO4, berat badan tikus. ABSTRACT Dates are one of the most nutritious fruits. In addition to high energy, especially carbohydrates, dates also contain iron minerals that play a role in energy metabolism. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of dates on rat body weight (Rattus novergicus). Types of laboratory experimental studies with pre-post test with control group. The sample was 24 male white rats (Rattus novergicus) Wistar strain, divided into 4 groups, ie group K1 (negative control), and K2 (positive control (given FeSO4 supplement)), P1 (crude dates juice treatment), and P2 (dates juice treatment). Analysis of data with paired t-test to determine the difference of pre-post test weight, One Way Anova to know difference of post test between group weight, followed by post hoc test of LSD, with α = 0,01. The results showed that there was an increase in weight across all sample groups (K1, K2, P1, and P2). The highest weight gain in the positive control group (K1) was 11.12%, followed by the group of dates juice treatment (P2) 11.00%, and crude dates juice treatment (P1) 10.90%, while the lowest in the negative control group (K1) only 5 , 32%. The result of paired t-test analysis in positive control group (K2), crude dates juice treatment (P1) and dates juice treatment (P2) showed significant difference of pre-post test weight (p <0,01). The results of One Way Anova analysis showed that p = 0,000 (p <0,01) indicated that there was significant difference of post test weight between 4 groups, where post hoc test of LSD showed the difference between negative control (K1) and group that given treatment (K2, P1, and P2), whereas between groups K2, P1, and P2 there was no significant difference. Conclusion: Dates can increase the weight of rats with iron deficiency anemia. The effect of dates on body weight of rats is similar to that of FeSO4 supplementation. Increased rats weight without treatment is very low when compared with the increased weight of rats given dates and supplements of FeSO4.   Keywords: dates (Pheonix dactylifera L.); raw dates crude extract, dates juice, FeSO4 supplement, weight of rats.

Latar Belakang: Peningkatan kadar kolesterol total merupakan faktor risiko terjadinya penyakit kardiovaskuler.  Manajemen kadar kolesterol total dapat dilakukan dengan upaya kuratif dan preventif. Simvastatin merupakan salah satu obat penurun kadar kolesterol total. Pengendalian asupan efektif untuk mencegah peningkatan kadar kolesterol total. Konsumsi makanan fungsional berpotensi dalam mencegah peningkatan kadar kolesterol total, salah satunya adalah konsumsi daun salam. Flavonoid yang terkandung dalam daun salam terbukti efektif dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol total. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan adanya perbedaan pengaruh antara ekstrak dan rebusan daun salam dalam mencegah peningkatan kadar kolesterol total darah tikus Sprague dawley.Metoda: Rancangan penelitian adalah true experimental jenis pre-post test randomized control group design terhadap 24 ekor tikus Sprague dawley yang dibagi acak dalam 4 kelompok. Tikus diberi pakan tinggi lemak bersamaan dengan pemberian ekstrak dan rebusan dengan dosis masing-masing ekstrak dari 0,72 gram daun segar dan rebusan 0,72 gram secara sonde sekali sehari. Kadar kolesterol total diperiksa dengan metode CHOD-PAP spektrofotometri. Data dianalisis menggunakan paired t-test dan uji one way ANOVA yang dilanjutkan uji Post-Hoc LSD pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%.Hasil: Kadar kolesterol total pada seluruh kelompok meningkat secara signifikan (p=0,000). Peningkatan kadar kolesterol total pada kelompok kontrol negatif adalah 147,88 %, kelompok control positif 11,64 %, kelompok perlakuan ekstrak 39,03 %, dan kelompok perlakuan rebusan 77,84 %. Terdapat perbedaan perubahan kadar kolesterol total antar kelompok secara signifikan (p=0,000).Simpulan: Perlakuan yang memiliki efek menahan laju peningkatan kadar kolesterol total terbesar sampai terkecil adalah 0,018 gram simvastatin, 0,034 gram ekstrak daun salam, dan 0,72 gram rebusan daun salam.

Background: Dental caries is the main problem of oral health in the world. The preventive is consumption cheddar cheese with caseinfosfoprotein and calcium. This study aimed to determine whether the consumption of 10 grams cheddar cheese can increase salivary pH. Method: The type of this research method is experimental with pre and post design. The samples in this research were 30 students FKG Unissula who inclusion criteria, 10 people the treatment group (consuming 10 grams of cheddar cheese), 10 people positive control group (consuming chocolate biscuits), and 10 people negative control group. The data analysis techniques using Paired T Test to determine the salivary pH before and after treatment. Furthermore, to know differences among the three groups using One Way Anova Test and Post Hoc Test . Result: Based Test Paired T Test showed that the treatment and negative group increased salivary pH. Positive control group decreased salivary pH. Based on One Way Anova test significant value 0.000 (p≤0.05), it means differences between 3 groups. Based on Post Hoc Test found significant value p≤0.05, it means differences between one group to another. Conclusion: From study result concluded that consumption 10 grams of cheddar cheese can raise the salivary pH.

The effect of application time of CPP-ACPF on enamel hardness. Remineralization process can increase the hardness of enamel due to demineralization process. CPP-ACPF is a material used for enhancing remineralization. However, the application time of CPP-ACPF remain controversial among previous studies. This study was aimed to investigate the effect of various application times of CPP-ACPF on enamel hardness. Thirty premolar teeth were mounted on self cure acrylic resin, and were divided into 5 groups. Demineralization process was performed, and enamel hardness (pre-est) was measured by Vickers Hardness Tester. Remineralization was performed using CPP-ACPF in various application times: 3, 15, 30, 60 minutes, and the control group was only immersed in artificial saliva for 60 minutes, then enamel hardness was measured (posttest). Data were analyzed using paired t-test, one-way ANOVA, and post-hoc Bonferroni. The result of paired t-test showed that all the groups, except the control group, have an increasing enamel hardness that was statistically significant. One-way ANOVA results showed no statistically significant difference among the groups at pretest, but one-way ANOVA results showed statistically significant difference at posttest. Post hoc Bonferroni showed that the significantly difference at posttest occurred between all the treatment groups against the control group, but there were no significant differences between the 3 minutes group to 15 minutes group, between 15 minutes group to 30 minutes group, and between 30 minutes group to 60 minutes group. It was concluded that various application times of CPP-ACPF had an effect on increasing enamel hardness. ABSTRAKProses remineralisasi dapat meningkatkan kekerasan email yang menurun akibat demineralisasi. Bahan remineralisasi yang ideal adalah CPP-ACPF. Terdapat perbedaan lama aplikasi CPP-ACPF dalam berbagai penelitian, selain itu total lama aplikasi yang dibutuhkan CPP-ACPF dalam mekanisme remineralisasi belum diketahui. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama aplikasi CPP-ACPF terhadap kekerasan email. Tiga puluh mahkota gigi premolar yang ditanam dalam resin akrilik self cure dibagi menjadi lima kelompok, kemudian dilakukan proses demineralisasi. Kekerasan email kemudian diukur menggunakan alat Vickers Hardness Tester. Proses remineralisasi menggunakan CPP-ACPF dilakukan pada masing-masing kelompok dalam berbagai lama aplikasi yaitu 3 menit, 15 menit, 30 menit, 60 menit, serta perendaman dalam saliva buatan selama 60 menit (kontrol). Kekerasan email kemudian diukur kembali (posttest). Data diuji secara statistik menggunakan t-test berpasangan, one-way ANOVA dan post hoc Bonferroni. Hasil paired t-test menunjukkan bahwa seluruh kelompok, kecuali kelompok kontrol, mengalami peningkatan rata-rata kekerasan email secara signifikan. Hasil uji one-way ANOVA pada pretest menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan kekerasan email yang signifikan. Hasil uji one-way ANOVA pada posttest menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan kekerasan email yang signifikan. Hasil uji post Hoc Bonferroni menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kekerasan email yang signifikan pada seluruh kelompok perlakuan terhadap kelompok kontrol, tetapi perbedaan kekerasan email antara kelompok lama aplikasi 3 menit dengan 15 menit, antara lama aplikasi 15 menit dengan 30 menit, serta antara lama aplikasi 30 menit dengan 60 menit tidak menunjukkan perbedaan kekerasan email yang signikan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah berbagai lama aplikasi CPP-ACPF berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kekerasan email.

ABSTRACT Pinang Yaki (Areca vestiaria) is a plan originating from the North Sulawesi region. Pinang Yaki nut containds flavonoide which can act as anti-hyperlipidemia. The study aims to identify the anti-hyperlipidemic actibity of ethanol extract of Pinang Yaki (Areca vestiaria)  fruit on wistar strain rats induced by hyperlipidemic. Total cholesterol level is a parameter on this study. The method used was laboratory experimental with a completely randomized design. The result of the study were obtained from 2 stagxes of measuring blood cholesterol, namely pre and post. The treatment was started by giving high-fat feed for 28 days. On the 29th day pre measurementswere taken. Furthermore, treatment was given to each group, namely CMC in the negative control group, simvastatin in the positive control groups, and ethanol extract of Pinang Yaki Fruit with doses of each group of PS2 (200 mg), PS4 (400 mg), and PS8 (800 mg). Post measurement are cerried out after 2 hours of administration. Data were analyzed by Paired T-test. Statistical results indicate a significant difference between the pre and post groups. From the percentage point of view, the dose of 400 mg ethanol extract of Pinang Yaki Fruit gives the best reduction in blood cholesterol levelKeywords: Pinang Yaki Fruit, Antihyperlipidemia, Male White Rat. ABSTRAK Pinang Yaki (Areca vesitaria) merupakan tanaman yang berasal dari daerah Sulawesi Utara. Buah Pinang Yaki mengandung flavonoid yang dapat berperan sebagai antihiperlipidemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi aktifitas antihiperlipidemia Ekstrak etanol buah Pinang Yaki (Areca vestiaria) terhadap tikus galur wistar yang diinduksi hiperlipidemia. Kadar kolesterol total merupakan parameter dalam penelitian ini. Metode yang digunakan eksperimental laboratorium dengan rancangan acak lengkap. Hasil penelitian diperoleh dari 2 tahap pengukuran kolesterol darah, yaitu pre dan post. Perlakuan dimulai dengan memberi pakan tinggi lemak selama 28 hari. Pada hari ke 29 dilakukan pengukuran pre. Selanjutnya diberikan perlakuan pada tiap kelompok, yaitu CMC pada kelompok Kontrol negatif, simvastatin pada kelompok Kontrol positif, dan ekstrak etanol buah pinang yaki dengan dosis masing-masing kelompok PS2 (200 mg), PS4 (400 mg), dan PS8 (800 mg). Pengukuran Post dilakukan setelah 2 jam pemberian. Data dianalisis dengan Paired T-test. Hasil statistika menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok pre dan post. dilihat dari presentase, dosis ekstrak etanol buah pinang yaki 400 mg memberikan penurunan kadar kolesterol darah terbaik.Kata kunci : Buah Pinang Yaki, Antihiperlipidemia, Tikus Putih Jantan

Abstract: Porosity Of Acrylic Resin After Immersion In The Boiled Water Of Betel Leaves And Siwak Wood. Denture acrylic resin can be a collection point for stain, tar, and plaque and this will adversely affect the oral health of the denture wearer. One way to clean the oral cavity of denture users is to use mouthwash and soak the teeth with a cleaning solution/denture cleanser. Mouthwash solutions and chemical-based cleaning solutions at relatively high prices, and affect the porosity of dentures. Therefore, the need for alternative materials that are safe, cheap, natural as well as having antimicrobial function without affecting the level of porosity of denture. This study was to determine the effect of the combination of boiled water of betel leaves and siwak wood to the porosity of the acrylic resin plate. This study was an experimental study, posttest only design with the control group has been done at the integrated laboratory of Poltekkes Tanjungkarang, July – December 2015. Data were analyzed by One Way ANOVA and continued with Least Significant Difference test. The results showed that the combination of betel leaves and siwak wood does not affect the porosity of the acrylic resin plate. The highest concentration of the combination of betel leaf water and siwak wood that did not differ significantly with negative control (aquades) was 75% with longest immersion period was 59 days. Abstrak: Porositas Lempeng Resin Akrilik Pasca Perendaman Rebusan Daun Sirih Dan Kayu Siwak. Gigi tiruan resin akrilik dapat menjadi tempat pengumpulan stain, tar, dan plak dan hal ini akan berpengaruh jelek terhadap kesehatan mulut pemakai gigi tiruan. Salah satu cara menjaga kebersihan rongga mulut pengguna gigi tiruan adalah dengan menggunakan obat kumur dan merendam gigi-tiruan tersebut dengan larutan pembersih/denture cleanser. Larutan obat kumur dan larutan pembersih berbahan dasar dari bahan kimia dengan harga yang relatif mahal, serta mempengaruhi porositas gigi tiruan. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya bahan alternatif yang aman, murah, alami sekaligus memiliki fungsi antimikroba dengan tanpa mempengaruhi tingkat porositas gigi tiruan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi air rebusan daun sirih dan kayu siwak terhadap porositas lempeng resin akrilik. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental, rancangan post test only with control group design, dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Terpadu Poltekkes Tanjungkarang, Juli-Desember 2015. Analisis data dengan uji One Way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan uji Least Significant Difference. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi air rebusan daun sirih dan kayu siwak tidak mempengaruhi porositas lempeng resin akrilik. Konsentrasi tertinggi dari kombinasi air rebusan daun sirih dan kayu siwak yang tidak berbeda signifikan dengan kontrol negatif (aquades) adalah 75% dengan lama perendaman terpanjang yaitu 59 hari.

ABSTRACT Cockroach control can be done in various ways one of which is spraying insecticide. Natural insecticides are less dangerous than conventional insecticides. This study aimed to determined the effectiveness of kaffir lime leaf extract (Citrus hystrix) as a natural insecticide against cockroach americana (Periplaneta americana) with spray method. This research was an experimental study with a post-test only control group designed design. The sample in this study was 60 cockroaches, the sample was divided into 6 groups: negative control (aquades), positive control (transflutrin 0.06%) and and 4 test groups with concentrations of kaffir lime leaf extract (20%, 40%, 60% , and 80%) each group consisted of 10 cockroaches. Phytochemical tests were carried out to determine the content of secondary metabolites in extracts of kaffir lime leaves. Positive phytochemical test results containing flavonoids, alkaloids and essential oils. Based on probit analysis, it is known that the LC50 value = 58.5%; LC95 = 85.1%. The time of death of LT50 is fastest at a concentration of 60% (3,036 hours) and LT95 is the fastest at a concentration of 80% (5,960 hours). Anova test analysis results showed that the positive control group had no significant difference with kaffir lime leaf extract concentration of 80% Kaffir lime leaf extract has an insecticide effect, the higher the concentration of kaffir lime leaf extract, the more number of dead cockroaches and the longer the observation time, the number of cockroaches death will also increase. Keywords: American cockroach, kaffir lime leaf extract, cockroach death   ABSTRAK Pengendalian kecoa dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai cara salah satunya penyemprotan insektisida. Insektisida alami kurang berbahaya dibanding insektisida konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas ekstrak daun jeruk purut (Citrus hystrix) sebagai insektisida alami terhadap kecoak americana (Periplaneta americana) dengan metode semprot. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan post-test only control group designed. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 60 ekor kecoak, sampel dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok yaitu kontrol negatif (aquades), kontrol positif (transflutrin 0,06%) dan dan 4 kelompok uji dengan konsentrasi ekstrak daun jeruk purut (20%, 40%, 60%, dan 80%) masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 10 ekor kecoak. Uji fitokimia dilakukan untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder pada ekstrak daun jeruk purut. Hasil uji fitokimia positif mengandung flavonoid, alkaloid dan minyak atsiri. Berdasarkan analisis probit, diketahui nilai LC50 = 58,5%; LC95 = 85,1%. Waktu kematian LT50 paling cepat pada konsentrasi 60% (3,036 jam) dan LT95 paling cepat pada konsentrasi 80% (5,960 jam). Hasil analisis uji anova menunjukkan bahwa kelompok kontrol positif tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dengan ekstrak daun jeruk purut konsentrasi 80% Ekstrak daun jeruk purut memiliki efek insektisida, semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak daun jeruk purut maka jumlah kecoak yang mati semakin banyak dan semakin lama waktu pengamatan, maka jumlah kecoak yang mati juga akan semakin banyak. Background: Immune responses to eliminate Salmonella infection are by activating macrophage and by producing NO. Chlorophyllin is a chlorophyll derivate that has immunomodulator properties. Objective: The aim of this study was to prove effect of chlorophyllin in macrophage phagocytosis index and NO level. Methods: A post test only controlled group design was conducted in 5 groups Balb/c mice (negative control, positive control, dosage 100 µg/200 g BW, dosage 200 µg/200 g BW and dosage 380 µg/200 g BW). Macrophage phagocytosis index was measured by counting cells that phagocyte latexs particles. NO level was measured by Griess method. Macrophage phagocytosis index difference was analyzed by one way anova and NO level deference was analyzed by Kruskall-Wallis test (α 0,05).Results: Means of macrophage phagocytosis index were 0,7(±0,80), 1,8(±0,80), 2(±0,22), 2,5(±0,43) and 3,2(±0,68) respectively in negative control, positive control, chlorophyllin dosage 100 µg/g BW/day, 200 µg/g BW/day and 380 µg/g BW/day. There was a significant difference of macrophage phagocytosis index between group (p 0,000). Mean of NO level were 0,4 µM(±0,10), 0,6 µM(±0,60), 0,8 µM(±0,64), 0,6 µM(±0,67) and 0,4 µM(±0,26) respectively in negative control, positive control, chlorophyllin dosage 100 µg/g BW/day, 200 µg/g BW/day and 380 µg/g BW/day. There was no difference of  NO level between group (p 0,813).Conclusion: There was a significant difference of macrophage phagocytosis index between chlorophyllin administered group and control. The higher chlorophyllin dosage, the higher macrophage phagocytosis index. Therewas no difference of  NO level between chlorophyllin administered group and control.

Pendahuluan: Basis gigi tiruan nilon termoplastik merupakan alternatif pengganti basis gigi tiruan resin akrilik. Pembersihan gigi tiruan diperlukan untuk menjaga basis gigi tiruan agar tetap bersih dari kontaminasi mikroorganisme. Daun seledri merupakan bahan alam yang memiliki kandungan flavonoid, saponin, tanin, dan minyak atsiri yang sudah terbukti bersifat antijamur. Penelitian sebelumnya hanya melihat zona hambat saja. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis efektivitas perasan daun seledri sebagai pembersih gigi tiruan terhadap pertumbuhan Candida albicans pada basis gigi tiruan nilon termoplastik. Metode: Eksperimental laboratoris dengan rancangan penelitian post-test only control group design. Sampel nilon termoplastik berbentuk cakram dengan diameter 10 mm dan tebal 2 mm  sebanyak 25 dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok. Sampel dikontaminasi dengan C. albicans setelah direndam dalam kontrol negatif (akuades) selama 6 jam, kontrol positif (tablet effervescent) selama 15 menit, dan perasan daun seledri konsentrasi 25, 50, dan 100% selama 6 jam. Sampel selanjutnya diletakkan dalam media sabouraud dextrose broth (SDB). Pengujian efektivitas perasan daun seledri dilakukan dengan menentukan nilai absorbansi kekeruhan media SDB menggunakan spektrofotometer. Data dianalisis menggunakan one-way ANOVA dan Least Significant Difference (LSD). Hasil: Nilai konsentrasi C. albicans pada kelompok kontrol negatif mendapatkan hasil 0,380 x 108 CFU/mL, kontrol positif mendapatkan hasil 0,310 x 108 CFU/mL, perasan daun seledri konsentrasi 25% mendapatkan hasil 0,243 x 108 CFU/mL, konsentrasi 50% mendapatkan hasil 0,160 x 108 CFU/mL, dan konsentrasi 100% mendapatkan hasil 0,236 x 108 CFU/mL. Simpulan: Perasan daun seledri efektif sebagai pembersih gigi tiruan untuk menghambat  pertumbuhan C. albicans, dengan konsentrasi yang efektif sebesar 50%.Kata kunci: Nilon termoplastik, perasan daun seledri, Candida albicans. ABSTRACTIntroduction: Thermoplastic nylon denture base is an alternative to the acrylic resin denture base. Denture cleaning is needed to keep the denture base clean from contamination by microorganisms. Celery leaves are natural ingredients that contain flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and essential oils that have been proven to have antifungal properties. Previous research only observed the inhibitory zone. This research was aimed to analyse the effectiveness of celery leaf juice as a denture cleaner against the growth of Candida albicans on thermoplastic nylon denture base. Methods: Experimental laboratory with a post-test only control group design was conducted towards 25 disc-shaped thermoplastic nylon samples with a diameter of 10 mm and a thickness of 2 mm, and divided into five groups. Samples were contaminated with C. albicans after immersion in the negative control (aquadest) for 6 hours, positive control (effervescent tablets) for 15 minutes, and celery leaf juice with the concentrations of 25, 50, and 100% for 6 hours. The sample was then placed in the Sabouraud-dextrose broth (SDB) medium. The effectiveness of celery leaf juice was tested by determining the absorbance value of SDB media turbidity using a spectrophotometer. Data were analysed using one-way ANOVA and Least Significant Difference (LSD). Results: The concentration value of C. albicans in the negative control group was 0.380 x 108 CFU / mL, the positive control was 0.310 x 108 CFU / mL, the juice of celery leaves with the concentration of 25% was 0.243 x 108 CFU / mL, the concentration of 50% was 0.160 x 108 CFU / mL, and the concentration of 100% was 0.236 x 108 CFU / mL. Conclusion: Celery leaf juice is effective as a denture cleaner to inhibit the growth of C. albicans, with an effective concentration of 50%.Keywords: Thermoplastic nylon, celery leaf juice, Candida albicans.

People in Central Borneo which is often used to treat diarrhea is the fruit of masisin (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa Wight) with active compounds which are capable to treat diarrhea such as alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and steroids. Diarrhea is a defecate with a liquid or half-liquid feces, the content of water in a feces is more than usual, it is more than 200 g or 200 ml / 24 hours. To know the effectiveness of the extract of the fruit of masisin as an alternative to antidiarrheal treatment seen from the frequency, duration, and consistency of feces in male white mice (Mus musculus). This study design was a true experimental design with post-test control group design with 5 treatments for each group. This study started by making some extracts of Masisin fruit. Followed observation with 5 treatment groups animals. The induction of diarrhea was using oleum ricini, with aquadest as the negative control, and Loperamide HCL as the positive control. The dose of ethanol extracts of masisin fruit divided into 0.3 mg/g BW, 0.6 mg/g BW and 1.2 mg/g BW, all of the treatments were given orally. This study data was statistically analyzed with one way ANOVA. The results of one way ANOVA test showed that the value of p <0,05 meaning that there is the influence of EEBM on frequency, consistency and duration of diarrhea at doses 0.3 mg/g BW, 0.6 mg/g BW and 1.2 mg/Gbw. Based on observations ethanol extracts of masisin fruit had antidiarrheal effect at doses 0,3 mg/g BW, 0.6 mg/g BW and 1.2 mg/g BW in male white mice (Mus musculus).

Latar Belakang : Asam urat merupakan produk akhir metabolisme purin yang jika jumlahnya berlebih dapat memicu berbagai macam penyakit diantaranya gout. Biji pepaya mengandung zat fitokimia seperti flavonoid, saponin, dan tanin yang dapat menormalkan kadar profil lipid dan menurunkan kadar asam urat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jus biji pepaya terhadap kadar asam urat pada tikus dislipidemia. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah true experimental dengan pre-post test randomized control group design terhadap 24 ekor tikus Sprague Dawley dislipidemia yang kemudian dibagi secara acak dalam 4 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif yang hanya diberikan pakan standar, kontrol positif yang diberikan pakan standar dan tinggi lemak, serta dua kelompok perlakuan yang diberikan pakan standar, tinggi lemak dan jus biji pepaya dengan dosis 400 mg dan 800 mg selama 30 hari. Kadar Asam urat diperiksa dengan metode Spektrofotometri. Data di analisis dengan uji Paired t-test dan Anova serta uji LSD pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil: Perubahan kadar asam urat kelompok kontrol negatif, k ontrol positif dan perlakuan 400 mg dan 800 mg secara berturut-turut adalah -11,21 (p=0,352), 18,91 (p=0,360), -30,43 (p=0,024), dan -16,67(p=0,127). Perubahan kadar asam urat antar kelompok dengan uji Anova menunjukkan signifikansi sebesar 0,017. dilanjutkan uji Post-Hoc antara kelompok kontrol negatif dengan kelompok perlakuan dosis 400 mg dan 800 mg menunjukkan signifikansi berturut-turut 0,003 dan 0,019. Simpulan: Pemberian jus biji pepaya selama 30 hari pada dosis 400 mg/ekor/hari efektif menurunkan kadar asam urat pada tikus dislipidemia.
