Based on a preliminary survey in Desa Securai Selatan, Babalan Subdistrict, Langkat Regency, out of 10 people there were 7 people suffering from VVTB. Therefore, the authors want to find out the factors that affect Varicose Veins of Lower Legs (VVTB) in Primary School (SD) teachers in Securai Selatan Village, Babalan Subdistrict, Langkat Regency in 2019. Types of analytical research with cross sectional approach. The population is Elementary School (SD) teachers in Securai Selatan Village, Babalan Subdistrict, Langkat Regency as many as 35 female teachers consisting of SD Alur Rejo having 19 teachers, SD Batang Rejo having 6 teachers and SD Sendayan having 10 teachers. The sample in this study using total sampling. Data analysis was performed with univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square test. The results of the study were elementary school teachers based on the long standing majority of the categories that did not last long, namely 19 people (54.3%), the majority age category = 30 years was 28 people ( 80.0%), majority education in S1 category is 33 people (94.3%), obesity in the majority category is not obese that is 18 people (51.4%), the use of high heels majority of the categories do not wear high heels that is 25 people (71 , 4%), the majority of VVTB categories were not VVTB, namely 28 people (80.0%). The conclusion is the influence of long standing factors, age, obesity and the use of high heels on VVTB in elementary school teachers in Securai Selatan Village, Babalan Subdistrict, Langkat Regency in 2019. The research suggestion is that teachers are expected to prevent VVTB by minimizing the work of teachers who are dominated by standing length of time in teaching and limiting the use of high heels to less than or equal to 5 cm because the use of shoes more than 5 cm is easier for potential varicose veins in the lower limbs

The COVID-19 pandemic has a serious impact on people’s lives, including teachers. The need to continue the learning process during a pandemic has caused teachers and students to encounter many problems, including limited internet access in remote areas. Landang Elementary School (SDN 19 Landang) in Bantaeng Regency is one of the elementary schools in South Sulawesi located in the remote area facing the aforementioned problem. The teachers are forced to teach the students by home visit to provide learning activities. The condition in which people must keep their distance from each other to avoid the spread of COVID-19 virus yields stress. The study aims to analyze the factors that cause stress among elementary school teachers. This cross-sectional survey method involved 47 respondents using Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) on Google Form platform as the instruments. Age and teaching duration had significant association with the stress level among teachers after analysis using chi square test.

Background and objectives: Changes in teachers’ work situation in Sweden since the 1990s may have contributed to an increase in common mental disorders (CMDs) and burnout. However, there is a lack of research in this field. The aim was to describe how Swedish elementary school teachers experience their health, organizational and social work environment, and the psychosocial safety climate at the workplace, and especially differences and similarities between female and male teachers. Materials and methods: Data were collected with the COPSOQ, OLBI, UWES and PSC-12 from 478 elementary teachers, 81.0% of them women, from twenty schools. The response rate was 96.4%. Results: Teachers reported relatively good general health but experienced high stress, high work pace and emotional demands, low influence at work and a poor psychosocial safety climate. These factors were especially prominent among female teachers. Both women and men experienced good development possibilities and high work engagement. Conclusions: The results of this study can help us to develop a more sustainable work environment for female and male teachers. A more sustainable work environment might attract more people to the profession and incentivize existing teachers to remain in the profession.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to verify the prevalence of well-being and its association with sociodemographic features, health and work-related conditions, and vocal behavior in elementary school teachers in the city of Pelotas, RS. Methods: a cross-sectional observational study with 575 teachers from urban and rural areas. The participants answered a structured questionnaire that included items on sociodemographic, health and work-related conditions. The Faces Scale (Andrews) was used to evaluate their psychological well-being. The Vocal Behavior Profile verified occurrences of abuse and vocal misuse. Poisson regression was used for the multivariate analysis. Results: of the total sample, 79.5% of teachers experienced well-being. It was observed that vocal behavior profile was significantly associated with well-being, and the number of students in the classroom showed a trend towards significance. Conclusion: most teachers had a satisfactory well-being perception. Moreover, a lower well-being perception in the teaching population was mainly related to abusive vocal behavior and, less clearly, to the high number of students per classroom.

Soil-transmitted helminth (STH) prevalence is high worldwide. School-aged children are at risk of infection due to poor self-hygiene and contaminated soil and water. Anemia is caused by infection in children, and it affects cognitive development, physical development, and school performance. To ascertain the relationship and distribution of STH and anemia in elementary school students, as the cross-sectional objectives. Students from SDN 96 and 97 Palembang participated in the study. Using stratified random sampling, 84 students from grades 4, 5, and 6 were chosen at random. Anemia is diagnosed through a test using the Quick Check hemoglobin method. They discovered that 40.5 percent of students had intestinal worms, 15.5 percent were anemic, and 11.8 percent were both anemic and worm-infected. A p-value of 0.438 was obtained from the chi-square bivariate analysis. There is no link between STH and anemia.
