Today, in the era of globalization of modern society, it is important to create a favorable environment for the younger generation. The presence of fears in children at preschool age prevents favorable mental development. This paper reflects the results of a study to identify the prevailing fears in children in preschool age. According to the results of the conducted empirical research, it was revealed that there is a tendency to increase fears in children, due to individual characteristics and the present stresses, neuroticism in preschool children. The results show that preschool childhood is one of the most difficult periods, which is characterized by neurotic fears that cause a general deterioration of the child’s psychoemotional state. It is very important to register the emotional changes of a preschooler, since the lack of information about the occurrence and development of fears in children causes complex barriers in the child’s further development.

Educational institutions have held a central role in utopian projects as the vehicle for implementing utopian principles and fashioning the utopian subject. As vehicles for utopian narratives or projects, educational institutions are simultaneously shaped by utopian modes of thought. Modes of thought are not neutral tools that are used as needed, but rather, they are active in how we understand ourselves, others, and the world. This paper draws out the implications and risks of nostalgic and utopian modes of thought to suggest that their mobilization is problematic in education as it directs education’s sight to a distant, illusory past and to an imagined future. The impact of this is an inadequate account for the lived realities of the present. By drawing on feminist epistemology and the work of Jacques Rancière, the paper proposes that a radical attending to the “now,” coupled with a politics of location, offers a way for educational theory and practice to engage its relationship to past, future, and present.

Peculiarities of representations of family concept in senior preschool-age children are considered in the article. The authors of the article define representations as a certain vision of the world and relationships in it that help an individual to adapt to the world around him. According to the authors, the style of child-parent relations has an impact on the formation of a child’s ideas about family. As a result of empiric research, the authors come to the conclusion that the personality-centred style of child-parent relationship fosters ideas of positive family relations in senior preschool-age children. The tolerant type of child-parent relations determines the formation of the concept of neutral family relations in older preschool children. The ego-isolated style of child-parent relationships contributes to the formation of negative ideas about family relationships in senior preschool children. The empirical research has shown the predominance of ideas about positive family relationships in senior preschool children. In general, children of senior preschool age include family members, people and animals who live together with the child in the representation of the family, describe joint recreation and pastime, note the care of themselves as a child and characterize the features of emotional relationships between themselves and other family members. All three types of family concepts’ representations are manifested both in boys and girls. It is possible to trace the tendency of the predominance of ideas about negative family relations in boys, the predominance of ideas about neutral family relations in girls of senior preschool age.
