The article considers the potential territorial mobility of youth, which refers to the willingness of young people to move outside their current residence. The sociological study was conducted in 2019, the object of which were students and working youth of Yekaterinburg. We interviewed 750 boys and girls by questioning method. In addition, 22 in-depth interviews were conducted, as well as an expert survey. The research materials indicate that the young generation is focused on moving to other settlements, among which the most attractive are the capital cities of Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg) and Europe (Prague, Barcelona, Vienna). The main factors of the attractiveness of the territories are, first of all, new opportunities for self-realization, as well as the quality of the urban environment. The city should also have a special unique history and architecture. Among the factors of youth consolidation in a certain territory are the presence of social ties and relations, as well as a stable material status. The territorial identity deserves special attention, which becomes a condition for the youth to settle. The presence of events that perform the function of integrating urban residents into the urban community, as well as the development of park / walking areas in the territory contribute to the formation of identity.

The article presents the results of a sociological study of municipal public policy conducted in the federal city of Sevastopol in 2020. Methodologically, the study was based on an index approach based on the participation of different groups of local experts and specialists in the process of evaluating the work of institutions and mechanisms, as well as the activities of public policy actors. According to the obtained index assessment of the state of public policy in the municipal districts of Sevastopol, we can talk about an almost consolidated type of public policy, when the estimated positions of two groups of respondents (representatives of municipal authorities, small and medium-sized businesses) are consolidated, and the indices of employees of municipal unitary enterprises and the NGO community differ slightly from them. From the point of view of the characteristics of the institutional status of local public policy, the highest scores in solidarity with all groups of respondents given the quality of the functioning of national harmony and tolerance of religions and faiths, of institutions, municipal elections and education. Institutions for the protection of private and municipal property, as well as the functioning of a website for collecting proposals from residents of the city, received solidly low ratings. And the worst rating is given to healthcare institutions. From the point of view of the subject cross-section of municipal public policy in the municipal districts of Sevastopol, there is a more pessimistic assessment of the activities of subjects and actors on the part of local authorities and employees of municipal unitary enterprises. Representatives of the NGO community and, to a lesser extent, business gave more optimistic assessments. The development of the subject potential of participants in public interaction in the city will require targeted program work to improve the skills of local self-government entities, to resolve the problems of redistribution of powers between the state bodies of Sevastopol and the authorities of municipalities and to provide the latter with financial resources, to transfer property to municipalities.

This paper explores the implications of state land tenure modernization and urbanization-promotion initiatives for human rights in Cameroon. The aim is to promote understanding of the implications of these initiatives for the right-to-the-city of indigenous urban residents. It is argued that the implications are more severe in politico-administrative headquarters than elsewhere in the country. Three different cities have served, at some point, as national politico-administrative headquarters in Cameroon, the study’s empirical referent. The designation of any city as a politico-administrative headquarters invariably creates a land scarcity problem in that city. The problem is aggravated for the city’s indigenous population by colonial and post-colonial planning policies. For this reason, the policies are said to be in violation of basic human rights as stipulated by the UN Declaration of Universal Human Rights as well as the African Charter.

In this article, the topic of public art in an urban environment of the post-industrial city is viewed in the context of one place – Zlín. Contemporary artworks integrated into the city spaces show the city as a site, in the context of its Modernist architecture and urbanism. They reflect both the past and the present-day changes in society and the way how we see and experience the world. Public art in Zlín has become part of the transformation and regeneration of public spaces fostering the enhancement of the quality of lives of local urban residents. It is evident from the research that Zlín can be perceived as a place with great potential for new art projects and for the public’s participation and engagement.

Zahedan, with a population of about 500,000, lies in the most arid area of Eastern Iran, close to Pakistan border. This city has shown the highest rate of population grown among the big cities of the country in the last two decades. Groundwater is the sole water source for the city. It is provided from an aquifer with an area of 120 km2. Groundwater  pollution and problems in water supply appear to be the main factors preventing the sustainable economic development of the city . The quality of groundwater has deteriorated sharply since last several years owing to the following main factors. (1) Groundwater pumping has exceeded natural recharge in the Zahedan watershed since 1980, and groundwater level in the city has been declining because of low yearly rainfall (Precipitation in the Zahedan watershed averages 95 mm per year, mainly in the winter). (2) The city population is growing fast, especially after 1980, and the aquifer pollution by human activities is serious. (3) Uncontrolled and unplanned development of the city in the western part over the aquifer that is providing fresh water has led to the problem of overexploitation and further groundwater pollution . At present, a massive federal project for the construction of 191 km long pipeline is in progress. It will fulfill the public demand of drinking water by bringing water from the Chahnimah Reservoir that is fed by the Hirmand River.

The city is a typical natural and social dual water circulation area. The water use characteristics of the city have obvious dual attributes, and there are many factors (both on nature and social side) affecting the urban water consumption (UWC). This article aimed to research the structure and characteristics of the UWC. Taking the provincial capital cities of China as the research objects, 24 index factors and data of the year 2015 were selected to construct a multivariate regression model between urban UWC and index factors. The results showed that the combination of correlation analysis and full subset regression could effectively screen the prediction variables of UWC. Principal component analysis could effectively reduce variable dimensions of UWC while preserving raw dataset information as much as possible. The main factors affecting UWC on the social side include the built-up area, the urban population, road cleaning area, residential electricity consumption, and per capital water consumption, and the main factors of the natural side include per capital green land and precipitation.

Colon is the oldest street in the Philippines.  It used to be the center of trade and commerce decades ago. The study aimed to determine the vendor demographics and the positive and adverse effects of the city government-organized Colon Night Market Program on the night market vendors in Cebu City, Philippines. Impact Value Chain and Social Return on Investment Method Analysis were used. Two survey questionnaires were prepared: one administered to the vendors that benefited the night market program, and another set was conducted to the customers. The results were validated by in-depth interviews. The study discovered that Muslim-Filipino vendors constituted the group of vendors with the highest proportion while the homegrown Cebuanos constituted the least number. The affirmative effects of the program were identified: better income and improved quality of life for the individuals, creation of more jobs, an offering of better deals and lower price, and the building of camaraderie among vendors. There were also a few negative issues identified. It was also discovered that there is $6.44 dollars for every one dollar invested by the government. It is recommended that the program is operated year-round to achieve a higher return on investment.
