Abstract  The knowledge and attitude of bathing a baby are very important aspects in parenting work. Also to caring for the umbilical cord is the principal thing to notice by mothers regarding newborn care. Lacking of knowledge and attitude in bathing a baby and caring for the umbilical cord could affect the health of the baby. The purpose of this research is to describe the level of knowledge and attitude of baby bathing and caring for the umbilical cord of post-partum mother in Warisa village of Talawaan district of North Minahasa regency. The research method that was used on this research is descriptive research design with survey method. The sample research used the total population model. The total respondent was 33 respondents of post-partum mothers in the Warisa village of Talawaan district of North Minahasa regency. The results showed that from 33 respondents, there were 13 respondents (39.4%) those who have good knowledge in bathing babies, there were 13 respondents (39.4%) those who have lacking knowledge to caring for the umbilical cord, there were 23 respondents (69.7%) those who have negative attitude in bathing babies and there were 19 respondents (57,6%) those who have a negative attitude in caring for the umbilical cord. Conclusion the results of this research were displayed that there were many levels of knowledge in bathing babies and caring for the umbilical cord of the post-partum in Warisa village of North Minahasa Regency. The author suggests that the health services should have been able to see and maximize the needs of the knowledge level and attitude toward newborn care, specifically in terms of post-partum mothers, in bathing the baby and caring for the umbilical cord by improving the level education for the related issues.Keywords: Knowledge, Attitude, Baby Bathing, Umbilical Cord. Abstrak : Pengetahuan dan sikap memandikan bayi dan merawat tali pusat merupakan hal penting yang harus diperhatikan oleh ibu dalam perawatan bayi baru lahir. Pengetahuan yang kurang serta sikap yang tidak baik dalam memandikan bayi dan merawat tali pusat dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan bayi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap memandikan bayi dan merawat tali pusat oleh ibu post partum di Desa Warisa Kecamatan Talawaan Kabupaten Minahasa Utara Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif dengan metode survey. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan total populasi yaitu seluruh ibu post partum di Desa Warisa Kecamatan Talawaan Kabupaten Minahasa Utara sebanyak 33 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjkkan bahwa dari 33 responden 13 responden (39,4%) memiliki pengetahuan baik dalam memandikan bayi, 13 responden (39,4%) memiliki pengetahuan kurang dalam pengetahuan merawat tali pusat, 23 responden (69,7 %) memiliki sikap negatif dalam memandikan bayi dan 19 responden (57,6 %) memiliki sikap negatif dalam merawat tali pusat . Kesimpulan, hasil penelitian ini mendapatkan gambaran tingkat pengetahuan memandikan bayi dan merawat tali pusat oleh ibu post partum di Desa Warisa Kecamatan Talawaan Kabupaten Minahasa Utara. Saran, Bagi pihak pelayanan kesehatan yang ada diharapkan dapat melihat dan memaksimalkan kebutuhan tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap perawatan bayi baru lahir lebih khusus dalam hal memandikan bayi dan merawat tali pusat oleh ibu post partum  dengan meningkatkan edukasi dalam hal memandikan bayi dan merawat tali pusat.Kata Kunci : Pengetahuan, Sikap, Memandikan Bayi, Merawat Tali Pusat.

Introduction: Vasectomy is a surgical procedure in which the two tubes that carry sperm from the two testicles to the urinary tract are surgically altered, preventing sperm from passing through and fertilizing a woman's egg during sexual intercourse. Objective: To determine the level of awareness of non-scalpel vasectomy and the impact of a video-assisted training programme among married males in a rural region. Community. To determine the relationship between the effectiveness of a video-assisted training programme on non-scalpel vasectomy knowledge and a set of demographic variables. Methods: A descriptive survey method design. We conducted the descriptive research design study in the Wardha district of Maharashtra. We search for the rural area in Wardha district and men in the area. A total number of 100 men were taken inside this study. The study uses a non-probability convenient sampling technique. Results: Findings from the study reveal that assess the effectiveness of video-assisted teaching on knowledge regarding non-scalpel among married men in selected area of Wardha district. There was an increase in the knowledge about non-scalpel vasectomy. The educational program is most important for enhancing the knowledge of the community men regarding non-scalpel vasectomy. Conclusion: Our study draws the following conclusions to assess the effectiveness of video-assisted teaching on knowledge regarding non-scalpel vasectomy among married men are the very poor level of knowledge and accompanied by a lot of misconceptions.

ABSTRACT Aims & Objective The aim of the present study was to assess current status of knowledge and attitude among the dental students of Udaipur, India towards HIV/AIDS. Material and Methods A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted among 282 dental students of Darshan Dental College. The interview questionnaire comprised of 27close ended questions. One way ANOVA was applied by using SPSS (11.0) to compare mean level of knowledge and attitude towards HIV/AIDS. Results Shows dental students have satisfactory knowledge, but certain misconception was prevalent. It also shows that around 30.20% of the dental students held an over all negative attitude. Mean level of knowledge and attitude towards HIV/AIDS had a statistically significant difference in results among sex and academic periods. Conclusion Over all knowledge and attitude among dental students was found to be satisfactory. Most of the Dental Students, near about 69.80% have a positive attitude regarding HIV/AIDS education.

Salah satu penyakit menular yang mendapat perhatian dunia karena insidensi dan penyebarannya yang semakin meningkat adalah penyakit HIV/AIDS. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini agar memperoleh gambaran tentang bagaimana pengetahuan dan sikap ladies cafe terhadap pecegahan HIV/AIDS dalam rangka identifikasi faktor risiko penularan penyakit menular seksual di kalangan masyarakat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskripif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui kuisioner. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh Ladies Cafe yang bekerja di Cafe Pandanwangi Kecamatan Toili Barat Kabupaten Banggai. Teknik sampel menggunakan total sampling atau keseluruhan jumlah populasi. Data dianalisis deskriptif univariat. Hasil Penelitian didapatkan bahwa sebanyak 64% Ladies Cafe memliki pengetahuan Cukup tentang Pencegahan HIV/AIDS sedangkan sebanyak 96% Ladies Cafe memiliki sikap Positif terhadap pencegahan HIV/AIDS. Tingkat pengetahuan merupakan domain untuk melakukan tindakan hingga taraf memahami ditunjukkan melalui penginterpretasian materi secara benar hingga selanjutnya pengaplikasian secara real, yang berarti responden mampu membaca kondisi bahaya HIV/AIDS dan cara mencegahnya sehingga ia dapat melakukan pencegahan.  One of the infectious diseases that received worldwide attention because of its increasing incidence and spread is HIV / AIDS.  The purpose of this study was to obtain a picture of how the knowledge and attitudes of women cafes against HIV / AIDS prevention in the context of identifying risk factors for sexually transmitted diseases in the community. This type of research is descriptive research with questionnaire data collection techniques. The population in this study were all ladies cafes who worked in Pandanwangi café, West Toili Sub-District, Banggai Regency. The sampling technique uses total sampling or the total population. Data were analyzed univariate descriptive. The results of the study found that as many as 64% of the Ladies Cafe have Sufficient knowledge about HIV / AIDS Prevention, while 96% of the Ladies Café have a positive attitude towards HIV / AIDS prevention. The level of knowledge is a domain for someone to carry out an act of someone's level of understanding is shown through the interpretation of material correctly until the subsequent applicated , which means the respondent able to read the dangerous condition of HIV / AIDS and how to prevent it so that he can do prevention.

Introduction: Knowledge regarding and attitude towards end-of-life care can shape the behaviour and actions of a health professional in provision of supportive care for the comfort of the patients as well as their family members. Very little is known about nurses’ knowledge and attitude regarding do-not-resuscitate (DNR) order. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to identify the knowledge of and attitude towards DNR order and relationship between knowledge and attitude towards DNR order among the nurses of a tertiary level hospital.  Methods: Descriptive correlation design was used.  Convenient sampling method was used to select 70 nurses from a tertiary level hospital. Data were collected using pretested self administered structured questionnaire. Data were analysed using SPSS version 20 and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Result: Among 70 respondents, almost all (95.7%) of the respondents had good level of knowledge, 2.9% had fair and 1.4% had poor level of knowledge. Most (80.0%) of the respondents had positive attitude towards DNR order and 20.0% had negative attitude. There was a positive relationship between knowledge of and attitude towards DNR order (r = 0.068) but the relationship was statistically insignificant. Conclusions: Based on the findings, the study concludes that nurses of tertiary level hospital have good knowledge and positive attitude towards DNR order. Likewise, knowledge regarding DNR order is related with the attitude towards DNR order and thus knowledge can be enhanced to improve the attitude towards DNR by regular in-service education.

Purpose: To assess knowledge and attitude on mental disorder among adults in Putalibazar Municipality of Syangja district. Materials and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among adults of the aged group (18-64 years) in Putalibazar Municipality of Syangja district of Nepal. A semi-structured questionnaire was prepared for data collection. Similarly, the Likert scale was used to assess respondent’s attitude levels. SPSS 20 version and MS-Excel were used to analyze the data. The questionnaire was translated into the Nepali language during data collection. Results: The majority (57.3%) respondents responded mental disorder is a health condition involving changes in feeling and emotions. More than half (54.7%) respondents were having poor knowledge and the rest (45.3%) respondents were having a good level of knowledge on mental disorders. Respondents involved in a private job, government job and NGO/INGO have the highest, and housewives have the lowest level of knowledge regarding the mental disorder. Three-fifth respondents (59.7%) were having a negative attitude and the rest two-fifth respondents (40.3%) were having a positive attitude towards mental disorders. Also, the level of knowledge was having a statistically significant relationship with the education (p=0.02) and occupation (p=<0.001) of the respondents. The level of attitude was having a statistically significant relationship with the level of knowledge of the respondents (p=0.004). Conclusions: Good level of knowledge regarding mental disorders was lagging among respondents and a negative attitude seems high. There is an urgent need for public awareness among the adults living in this location. Mass media and anti-stigma campaigns can equally play a vital role to bring change in the attitude level of the respondents.

Introduction The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a public health emergency of international concern and called for the collaborative efforts of all countries to prevent rapid spread. Objective The purpose of this study was to assess the knowledge and attitude towards COVID-19 among Palestinian nursing students. Methods This was a cross-sectional study conducted on 218 nursing students from Arab American University and Al-Quds University. The instrument was developed by the researchers after a critical literature review. Results The results revealed that the majority of participates were third academic year level (60.6%). Only 84 (38.5%) of respondents had a high level of knowledge and 17(7.8%) had a positive attitude regarding COVID-19. Conclusion The study confirmed that nursing students had a moderate level of knowledge about COVID-19 and a negative attitude toward it.

Background: Pain relief is an important issue for women in labour. Epidural analgesia provides safe and effective pain relief. But It has not been fully accepted and is not routinely practiced in most of the centres in developing countries despite of many advantages of this technique. Therefore, this study has been conducted with an objective to assess the knowledge and attitude regarding epidural analgesia among expectant mothers.Methods: A descriptive study was conducted on 60 expectant mothers visiting antenatal OPD at DMC & Hospital, Ludhiana selected by convenience sampling technique. Knowledge assessed by using a structured questionnaire and attitude assessed by 3 point likert scale regarding epidural analgesia. Analysis was done using both descriptive and inferential statistics.Results: The findings of the study revealed that 46.7% expectant mothers had below average level of knowledge, 35% had average level of knowledge and 18.3% had good level of knowledge. 96.7 % had positive attitude and only 3.3 % had negative attitude towards epidural analgesia. Correlation between knowledge with attitude was to be significant (r=0.609; p=0.000).Conclusions: Thus, the study concluded that most of women had below average level of knowledge and but they showed positive attitude regarding epidural analgesia.

Introduction. The umbilical cord is a life line for the fetus during pregnancy, because through the umbilical cord is all the need for a fulfilled life. After the baby is born the umbilical cord is not needed, so it must be cut and clamped with the umbilical cord clamping. The rest of the umbilical cord is still attached to the umbilical stump or the baby’s stomach requires good care to avoid infection. The purpose of this study was to obtain the description about effectiveness umbilical cord care booklet provision on knowledge and attitude of postpartum mothers on caring for the umbilical cord in Ajibarang Hospital, Banyumas regency, Central Java Province. Methods. This study used a quasi-experimental with treatment of delivery ISBN 978-979-448-992-5 books about umbilical cord care directly to the subject of the study (samples). Results. The results of this study indicated that knowledge of postpartum mothers before and after delivery of booklet umbilical cord care showed no significant differences on how to care for the umbilical cord (p>0.05). While the attitude of post partum mothers before and after delivery of booklet umbilical cord care showed significant differences, respectively before the delivery of booklet p = 0.029 and after the delivery of booklet p = 0.025. The effect of umbilical cord care booklet to the maternal attitudes about umbilical cord care is having the effect of moderate (r = 0.29). Discussion. Introduction: Mental disorders are widely recognized as a major contributor to the global burden of disease. Mental illness often generates misunderstanding, prejudice, confusion and fear; therefore it should be a concern for all of us, rather than only for those who suffer from a mental disorder. Aim of this study is to assess the knowledge and attitude on mental illness among people of a selected community. Material And Method: Descriptive cross-sectional research design was used to assess knowledge and attitude in selected community of Biratnagar. Sample size was 92. Non-probability purposive sampling technique was used to collect data through face to face interview using Semi-structured questionnaire. Data entry and analysis was done on SPSS version 16. Descriptive statistics was calculated. Results: Finding of the study shows 88% views mental illness as a medical condition. All respondents identified that mentally ill people cannot held his/her responsibility and are prone to violent. Mental illness perceived as treatable by 66.7% with regular treatment and follow-up and 20.7% preferred treatment with traditional healer. Findings of the study showed adequate level of knowledge among 97.8% respondents. Conclusion: The finding of the study suggests level of knowledge was adequate among respondents whereas most of them had negative attitude towards mental illness. The level of negative attitude suggests the strong emphasis on public education towards mental illness.

Background: Post-partum insertion of intra uterine devices (PPIUCD) increased the accessibility for women following childbirth. In India, the most women in the first year postpartum have an unmet need for family planning due to lack of information and fear of complications. The aim of the study is to assess the knowledge and attitude regarding postpartum insertion of intra uterine devices, among antenatal mothers.Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional survey design. The antenatal mothers, gestational age above 20weeks, registered at AIIMS Jodhpur were selected by purposive sampling technique. A total of 183 subjects were recruited for the data collection. A structured knowledge questionnaire and 5 point Likert scale was used to assess the knowledge and attitude among regarding PPIUCD respectively. Informed consent was taken from each participant prior to data collection and descriptive and inferential statistics were employed to analyze the data.Results: Majority (57.4%) of the subjects had fair knowledge, 24.6% had poor knowledge, only 18% with good knowledge and none of them had excellent in knowledge regarding PPIUCD. Majority (64.5%) had neutral attitude, 33.3% had positive attitude and 2.2% had negative attitude towards PPIUCD. A positive correlation found between the knowledge and attitude (r=0.509) regarding PPIUCD. Pregnant women’s education was found to be significantly associated with knowledge and attitude regarding PPIUCD.Conclusions: The findings underline that majority of the antenatal mothers having lack of knowledge and less positive attitude regarding PPIUCD. Hence there is a need to hence the comprehensive PPIUCD literacy and highly positive attitude among antenatal mothers in order to meet the family planning needs.
