The Qur'an has brought the spirit of literacy since the beginning of Islam, from that spirit then made Muslims recorded in world history as people who have created a superior civilization that became the mecca of science. This paper seeks to describe more complexly the spirit of literacy in the Qur'an from various aspects ranging from theological, historical, and sociological reviews. The research method used is literature with content analysis through interpretation of meaning. This article is a discourse study to dig deeper into the literacy spirit that needs to be applied in Islamic society. As a result, there are many verses in the Qur'an that command literacy by mentioning literacy tools and inviting mankind to think deeply, seek knowledge, and make bookkeeping a tradition. The scope of literacy is very broad, starting from reading, observing, researching, understanding, analyzing, criticizing, and so on.

Background: Competency is a set of job-related knowledge, skills, personality traits, interests, and experiences that enable the holder to perform tasks and responsibilities at an above-average level. Since the Holy Quran and hadiths emphasize the principle of selecting the most competent people according to specific characteristics and skills, there is a need to define the needed competencies for selecting efficient and capable managers. Based on this, the general and specialized competencies of managers were extracted from the valuable sources including the Quran and Nahj al-Balagha. Method: In this qualitative developmental study, the qualitative content analysis research method was conducted to investigate the texts of the Holy Quran and Nahj al-Balagha using a Quranic-narrative approach to extract the characteristics of competent managers. Results: After extracting all concepts (354) and classifying them, we finally achieved 21 competencies and placed them in consecutive classifications (3 stages of codification, preparation, and summarization) in 2 groups of general and specialized competencies. Conclusion: According to the Islamic criteria in selecting managers of an Islamic society, these competencies should be considered using a systemic approach.

This research is entitled as "Anecdotal Text in the Oral Story of Yong Dollah Inheritance of Malays as Alternative Choice for Indonesian Language Teaching Materials". It is inspired by the collection of Yong Dollah stories as the inheritance of Malays in Bengkalis Regency which contain of humor elements. In addition, the stories have the same characteristics with anecdotal text, so that it can be applied as teaching material for Indonesia Language subject in the school. This research method was content analysis of descriptive approach. This research was conducted during six months. The technique used to collect data were documentation and interview. The data of this study were the entire generic structure and language features of anecdotal texts contained in a collection of Yong Dollah stories which consisted of 11 stories. The result showed that as following. First, there are five texts contain of complete generic structures and six texts contain of incomplete generic structure which is coda part for data 2, 3, 5, 8, and 1. Second, about language features, there are four data contains of all language features of Anecdote text, but on the other side, there are seven incomplete language features in the texts. Third, the consideration of choosing Yong Dollah as alternative material for Indonesia Language subject refers to eight indicators that are conveyed based on teachers’ perception toward Anecdote text Yong Dolla. 55 % of number of teachers claim that these texts suitable to be implemented as teaching material, but 44% of them claim neutral, and 1% claim disagree on it.

The ideology of Pancasila as a way of life, the basis of the state, and national identity has a various challenge from time to time so that the existence of Pancasila as an Ideology must be maintained, especially in industrial revolution 4.0. The research method used is a qualitative approach by doing study of literature. In data collection the writer used documentation while in techniques data analysis used content analysis, inductive and descriptive. Results of the research about challenges and strengthening of the Pancasila Ideology in facing the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 are: (1)  grounding Pancasila, (2) increasing professional human resources based on Pancasila’s values, (3) maintaining the existence of Pancasila as the State Ideology.

This study aims to analyze the character values ​​in Sirah Nabawiyah Ar-Rahiq Al-Makhtum by Syafiyyurrahman al-Mubarakfuri, so that it is revealed how the character education of the Prophet Muhammad. and analyze its relevance to current educational goals. The research method used is library research, the type of research approach is deductive and the analysis method is content analysis. Data collection techniques used were library techniques. This research succeeded in proving that prophetic values ​​based on the history of the Prophet Muhammad have a strong relevance to the concept of contemporary character education. Prophetic values ​​loaded with character education in this era, especially related to religiosity, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democracy, curiosity, national spirit, love of the motherland, respect for achievement, friendship, love for peace , likes to read, care about the environment, care about social, and responsibility.

Abstract Along with mastery of the grammar and vocabulary of a given language, contemporary students are also expected to acquire intercultural communicative competence (ICC), i.e., the ability to use the language efficiently with regard to the sociocultural background of the communicative situation. This requirement should also be reflected in FL course-books, which are considered to be fundamental didactic tools in FL education, even in an era of information communication technologies. Therefore, the aim of the present paper is to report the results of the research focused on the investigation of intercultural component in the New Opportunities Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate course-book packages. To validate the findings of the content analysis, as the main research method, the method of triangulation was used, i.e., the results of the course-book package analyses were compared with those of observation and interview analyses. The findings of the research revealed that in the investigated course-book packages only some aspects of the intercultural component could be considered relevant because they were suitably treated.

The purpose of this study was to examine the opinions of engineering students from various departments regarding the progress tracking and digital badge features applied in courses in the Learning Management System (LMS). The phenomenological design which is a qualitative research method is used in this study. Online forms with close and open questions were used to collect data. The study was conducted with a total of 226 students, who studied in 5 different departments. The data is subject to content analysis. According to the research results, students stated that the features tested triggered motivation to complete assignments and develop other students. As for the opinion of some students that these features should be held in every course in the LMS. Despite the general view of an LMS equipped with these features (Moodle), their general view of the features, especially the progress tracking feature and digital badges is quite good. What needs to be questioned is the willingness of lecturers and policymakers to apply it consistently in the campus environment.

The practice of polygamy in Indonesia until now has drawn criticism from some feminists who did not agree. But on the one hand, both Islamic law and positive law permit various conditions. In this case, the Religious Court (PA) becomes the last fence which becomes the determining point for a man to be able to polygamy. For this reason, researchers conducted a study of PA decisions on polygamy, namely Jombang PA Decision No. No. 0899 / Pdt.G / 2018 / PA.Jbg . The focus of the problem is (1) the value of gender justice in the decision and (2) reasoning rechtvinding(legal discovery) judge. The method used in this study is a normative-qualitative legal research method with content analysis techniques from Charles Purse. The results showed that the practice of polygamy licensing in the Religious Courts had actually gone through processes that reflected gender justice. This is reflected in the obligation of the Religious Court to summon the longest wife of the applicant for polygamy to be asked for willingness and information. The results of subsequent studies show that PA Jombang judges used hermeneutic techniques in making legal discovery efforts. Because, they not only focus on aspects of legality, but also consider the contextualization.

The study examined radio family planning messages with particular reference to the nature of the audience influence on communication content by using a chat program on radio in a developing society. The study adopted content analysis research method with a purposive sampling technique and used a radio script having six items for analyses. Results showed that there were more family planning segments for women than for men and, there were more family planning for drugs/pills and materials/implantation than for injection. In addition, there were side effects in the use of family planning just as there were quite a number of frequently asked questions except for condoms-fiesta/kiss. This paper concludes that radio scripts/messages for family planning programs should accommodate more topics/segments of family planning for men and women, specifically, natural methods should be included. Furthermore, radio family planning messages should focus more on the benefits of family planning and specifically the benefits of contraceptive pill and post pill emergency should be examined. Other formats of programs should be employed in the campaign for family planning messages on radio, and development communicators and content developers of radio family planning scripts should explore more areas to make radio messages more robust.

This study aimed at finding out the main characters’ personality in the novel of Negeri Para Bedebah by Tere Liye based on Carl Gustav Jung’s psychoanalysis. The research method used qualitative with content analysis. Data were collected by inventorying Thomas's conversation based on Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalytic personality characteristic. It consists of think extrovert, feels extrovert, sense extrovert, intuition extrovert, think introvert, feel introvert, sensitive introvert, and intuition introvert. The results revealed that the discovery of eight main characters’ personality. First, think extrovert is demonstrated by the ability of intellectual analysis of objective experience. Second, feel extrovert is found by responding emotionally to objective reality. Third, sense extrovert is the tendency of figures to analyze the situation. Fourth, intuition extrovert is seen by its character does not care about logic. Fifth, think introvert figure depiction looks inflexible, cold, judge, and cruel. Sixth, feel introvert showed by figures are selfish and unsympathetic. Seventh, sense introvert found the ability of the senses to give them subjective meaning. Eighth, intuition introvert is demonstrated by the figure closing in and keeping the distance from the others. In conclusion, the eight personality types can be found on the whole structure of an irregular novel story.
