The contemplation of Islamic education has often been used as the basis by the pesantren to conduct Islamic education activities based on the economic empowerment of students and to guide and accompany the students. The Pesantren Sunan Kalijogo has the power that can be utilized to do economic empowerment in Santri. Pesantren that directly touches the students and becomes a medium of community empowerment in the field of societal economics. In the collection of research data, namely, in-depth interviews (indepth interview), this interview is a series of questions that researchers ask to the research subject. Participant observation (participant observation). Focus Group discussion. Document analysis. To form the economic empowerment programs Sunan Kalijogo Pesantren such as entrepreneurship programs, agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, livestock feed production, transportation, cooperatives and cafeteria Pesantren. The result of the research in Pesantren Sunan Kalijogo is to adjust the boarding school that has the vision and mission "excellence in Imtaq and Iptek, with national insight, innovative and Berakhlaqul Karimah, then make a curriculum based on economic empowerment, By incorporating Islamic educational values in accordance with the teachings of Islamic law and the trend in the field of economic affairs in Pesantren.

The study aims to analyze empowerment communication in a cooperative of an Islamic boarding school as a medium of harmonization. The study used a qualitative research method for Participatory Learning and Action (PLA). Data were collected through interviews, documentation, observation, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Informants were selected purposively and snowball sampling, namely the organization committee and students at the Islamic Boarding School, the management of cooperatives, business groups in the community, and village government, as well as practitioners, and activists of community empowerment. The study location was determined in community and Al Muaddib Islamic boarding school at Cilacap district, Central Java Province of Indonesia. The study used data analysis of community development, namely identifying, categorizing problems, specific objectives, analyzing problems and preparing action plans, evaluating the entire process, and action plans. The results of research i.e. (1) The empowerment communication should be developed to perform a comprehensive economic empowerment program ranging from the identification of the problem, the potential of human resources, natural resources and the economy of rural communities up to the analytical solution of cooperative programs, assistance and partnerships to realize harmonization. (2) Empowerment communication should be carried out sustainably and comprehensively with a humanistic, dialogical, egalitarian and participatory approach starting from counselling to provide motivation, inspiration, knowledge, and then improving skills with training, monitoring, evaluation and partnership. (3) The study implication is that empowerment communication programs could be a medium for harmonization, eliminating traumatic and negative stigma against society and Islamic boarding school which are considered radical. This paper discusses entrepreneurship education at Lintang Songo Islamic Boarding School which is taught to students and the surrounding community. Islamic boarding schools are the oldest educational institutions with unique and distinctive characteristics in Indonesia. It came into existence hundreds of years ago. According to historical records, the first Islamic boarding school in Indonesia was founded by Syeh Maulana Malik Ibrahim in 1399 AD to spread Islam on Java. Therefore, it has become a part of Indonesian education for a long time. Lintang Songo is one of such Islamic Boarding Schools that aims at surviving with consistency in carrying out its social functions. Furthermore, the uniqueness of its pesantren's activities and programs is associated with entrepreneurship education for students and society. This paper, therefore, discusses entrepreneurship education to improve the economy of students and society. This field research uses qualitative methods in analyzing data. Meanwhile, data obtained by observation, documentation and interviews. The informants of this study consisted of 12 people, from the head of the LintangSongo Islamic Boarding School, the teachers, students and the community. Several questions were asked to informants, such as what economic empowerment program was developed at LintangSongo Islamic Boarding School, why LintangSongo Islamic Boarding School developed economic empowerment education. The answers to these questions are then analyzed using qualitative methods.The results showed that LintangSongo Islamic Boarding School succeeded in economic empowering of its students and local communities with entrepreneurship education, which is taught as the curriculum of LintangSongo Islamic boarding school. Economic empowerment conducted by LintangSongo Islamic Boarding School for its students and community is agricultural empowerment, plantations, animal husbandry, forestry, fisheries, home industry, food, and convection.

<p>Areas Based Economic Empowerment Program (Program Ekonomi Berbasis Kewilayahan/PEW) is a program designed to focus on the learning process and empowercommunities through local economic institutions to shore up the economy of thecommunity itself. This study aims to: 1). Knowing the PEW Group self-reliance inorganizing services to members in order to regionally based economic empowerment.2). Identifying the factors management, member participation and partnership thathinder or support the PEW Group self-reliance and self-reliance opportunities for effortsto develop a support group for regionally based economic empowerment, 3). Formula tepolicy recommendations for the city authorities to develop and implement a model ofselfreliance development PEW group as a regionally based economic empowerment strategy in the city of Yogyakarta. This research is qualitative research, the research took place in the townYogyakarta. The collecting data techniques used were: study documentation, participant, observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussion (FGD). In the first studywere: 1). Evaluating Performance PEW Group 2). Identify factors inhibiting andsupporting self-sufficiency Group 3). Self-Supporting analyze PEW Group 4). Early formulation compile policy recommendations group. The research development model of self-reliance. Year II study is 1). Self-Supporting Group to develop a model based onthe results of Phase I study 2). Validation conduct joint FGD Stakeholder Model through3). Develop Model Self-Supporting Implementation Handbook. Results showed that the level of self-reliance menilitian PEW group is still low. This isreflected in the level of independence that is still low, both in terms of independence inthe administration, self-reliance and independence in the management of the assets. PEW group of selfsufficiency level is still low, due to several factors, namely: (1) Capacity Board PEW Group is still low (2) The lack of participation of members of the Group, and (3) lack of stakeholder support. Another factor that still require serious treatment that can increase self-reliance PEW Group is a factor Assistance Group Implementation and Monitoring and Evaluation during implementation is still lacking.</p>

<p>The purpose of this paper is to explore of entrepreneurial spirit development at the <em>Pesantren</em> (Islamic Boarding School) Sunan Drajat which led by Kyai Abdul Ghofur in local setting one of Islamic propagator legends in Indonesia, Sunan Drajat. The research method used ethnography approach. The techniques of collecting data used were participant observation, interview and focus group discussion. Techniques of analyzing data used were content analysis of interview, domain analysis, taxonomy analysis, component analysis and finding culture themes. The findings are entrepreneurial spirit development at the <em>Pesantren</em> Sunan Drajat has been inspired by <em>catur</em><em> </em><em>piwulang</em> philosophy as the core in giving spirit to the students and local communities. The entrepreneurial spirit development has produced a distinctive model in preparing Islamic entrepreneur generations for the future. As practical implication, the findings can be used as reference to develop entrepreneurial development especially at <em>pesantren</em> in Indonesia. The model also can be used to motivate another <em>pesantren</em> to develop an institution through the local economic based activities to become autonomous institution and not depend on other parties. Originality of this research is to reveal the leadership role and local wisdom in developing entrepreneurial spirit at the <em>Pesantren</em> Sunan Drajat and the community surrounding.</p>

Arabic is the language of Muslim’s holy book, and reading  it is obligatory for Muslims. In Islamic education, Arabic is the language that should be mastered as a means of understanding the original texts of the source of Islamic law. One of the important thing in learning Arabic is the method. Zam-Zam Muhammadiyyah Modern Islamic Boarding School implements a diffent model and method of learning Arabic compared to other Islamic boarding schools in the district of Cilongok. This is a qualitative research, through a case study using interview, observation and documentation techniques for collecting data and interactive analysis for analying data. The findings of this research are three models of Arabic learning in Pondok Pesantren. The first model is khiwar or muhadatsah, the second is mufrodat walls intended to make students familiar with Arabic vocabulary, and the third is Lughoh. The method and model of Arabic learning in the institution as described above is a combined method. There are at least three methods used, i.e. Communicative Problem-Based Learning Method, Audiolingual Method, and Grammar-Translation Method.

Setiap zaman pasti memiliki tokohnya sendiri, juga dalam hal dakwah. Salah satu tokoh dakwah yang memiliki kontribusi besar bagi perkembangan dakwah Islam pada era tahun 90an adalah KH. Abdullah Syafi’ie. KH. Abdullah Syafe’i selain konsen dalam bidang pendidikan, beliau juga aktif dalam memperjuangkan terwujudnya syariat Islam di Indonesia, ini dibuktikan dengan bergabungnya di Partai Masyumi, selain itu beliau kemudian aktif juga di MUI. Dalam pandangan KH. Abdullah Syafi’ie dakwah tak hanya berarti tabligh atau pidato alias kegiatan menyampaikan dan mensyiarkan Islam kepada khalayak. Akan tetapi dakwah adalah usaha orang beriman untuk mewujudkan Islam dan masyarakat Islam. Dakwah sebagai usaha pengembangan masyarakat Islam, dan pandangan KH. Abdullah Syafi’ie tak cukup dilakukan hanya dengan pidato (tabligh), tetapi juga dengan pendidikan (al-ta’lim wa al-tarbiyah), dan pengembangan sosial ekonomi. Sebagai da’i KH. Abdullah Syafi’ie berdakwah dengan tiga pilar ini, yaitu ceramah/pidato, pendidikan Islam dan dengan pemberdayaan sosial ekonomi. Da'wah is the duty of every Muslim and is a form of actualization of Islamic truth in social life in order to save them and their environment from damage (al-fasad). Every era must have its own character, also in terms of preaching. One of the da'wah figures who had a major contribution to the development of Islamic da'wah in the 90s was KH. Abdullah Syafi'ie. KH. Abdullah Syafe'i in addition to his concern in the field of education, he was also active in fighting for the realization of Islamic law in Indonesia, this was proven by joining the Masyumi Party, besides that he was later also active in MUI. In KH. Abdullah Syafi'ie da'wah does not only mean tabligh or speech, aka the activity of conveying and broadcasting Islam to the public. However, da'wah is the effort of a believer to realize Islam and Islamic society. Da'wah as an effort to develop Islamic society, and the views of KH. Abdullah Syafi'ie was not only done with speech (tabligh), but also with education (al-ta'lim wa al-tarbiyah), and socio-economic development. As da'i KH. Abdullah Syafi'ie preached with these three pillars, namely lectures / speeches, Islamic education and socio-economic empowerment.

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa yang melatar belakangi pemikiran dan perjuangan Anregurutta Haji Lanre Said, bagaimana pemikiran Anregurutta Haji Lanre Said, serta Perjuangan Anregurutta Haji Lanre Said.Prosedur dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah dengan tahapan: Heuristik, Kritik, Interpretasi dan Historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa yang melatar belakangi pemikiran dan perjuangan Anregurutta Haji Lanre Said ialah pendidikan yang beliau dapat dari keluarga yang memang mencintai agama, serta pendidikan yang telah diperolehnya di pondok Pesantren As’adiyah Sengkang. Pemikiran Anregurutta Haji Lanre Said meliputi, pemikiran keagamaan, kenegaraan, dan pendidikan Islam. Beliau selalu menekankan kepada setiap muridnya untuk menjadikan Al’Qur’an dan Hadist sebagai pedoman utama dalam menjalankan syariat Islam. Selain itu beliau juga menekankan untuk tetap patuh terhadap pemerintah yang ada dan tetap bersikap netral tanpa memihak satu parpol tertentu. Keterlibatannya dengan gerakan DI/TII bukan karena beliau sepenuhnya setuju dengan gerakan tersebut, melainkan untuk melindungi keluarganya agar tidak tidak dipaksa untuk terlibat dalam gerakan tersebut. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemikiran beliau tehradap pendidikan islam, keagamaan dan kenegaraan beliau peroleh dari lingkungan keluarga dan lembaga Pendidikan yang fokus terhadap agama. Setelah memutuskan untuk keluar dari gerakan DI/TII pada tahun 1961. Beliau melakuakan begitu banyak perjuangan, baik itu dalam mencari lokasi untuk mendirikan Pondok Pesantren Darrul Huffadh hingga perjuangan untuk mempertahankan Pondok Pesantren tersebut.Kata Kunci: Anregurutta, Pondok Pesantren, Darrul Huffadh,This this study aims to find out what lies behind the thoughts and struggles of Anregurutta Haji Lanre Said, how the thoughts of Anregurutta Haji Lanre Said, and the Struggle of Anregurutta Haji Lanre Said. The procedure in this study uses historical methods with stages: Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation and Historiography. The results showed that the background of the thoughts and struggles of Anregurutta Haji Lanre Said was education that he got from families who really loved religion, and the education he had obtained in the Sengkang As'adiyah Islamic Boarding School. The thoughts of Anregurutta Haji Lanre Said include, religious thought, statehood, and Islamic education. He always emphasizes to each of his students to make Al'Quran and Hadith the main guideline in carrying out Islamic law. In addition, he also stressed to remain obedient to the existing government and remain neutral without taking sides for certain political parties. His involvement with the DI / TII movement was not because he fully agreed with the movement, but rather to protect his family so that he was not forced to become involved in the movement. From the results of this study it can be concluded that his thoughts on Islamic, religious and state education were obtained from the family environment and educational institutions that focused on religion. After deciding to leave the DI / TII movement in 1961. He carried out so many struggles, both in finding locations to establish Darrul Huffadh Islamic Boarding School to the struggle to maintain the Islamic Boarding school Keyword : Anregurutta, Islamic Boarding School, Darrul Huffadh

Nowadays, Islamic boarding schools have experienced a very significant change considering the current of globalization which is increasingly expanding to all sides of human life. To be able to compete in this era, Islamic boarding schools – in one hand - must work together with other institutions and make changes by applying management as a foundation in developing boarding schools on the other, in order to be able to compete and become a modern boarding school in all fields such as entrepreneurship boarding school. This study aims to determine entrepreneurship planning, management strategies used and marketing management of Darul Yatama Wal-Masakin Islamic boarding school. This study used qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques carried out by unstructured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed with an interactive model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Checking the data validation was done by increasing the perseverance of observation and triangulation. Based on the results of this study, it was found that; a) Entrepreneurship planning started from the results of the fundamental thinking of its founder, namely TGH. Muhammad Mutawalli Yahya Al-Kalimi with the concept of independence. The concept of independence that he initiated was to prepare facilities that can be used as a source of funds to finance the management of the Islamic boarding schools; b) Management strategies in developing entrepreneurship can be seen from the business units developed such as: gas stations, animal husbandry, agriculture, fisheries and cooperatives. c) Marketing management used was involving and making all society as partners in every business that was developed.

This study aims to analyze the role of the Riyadhul Jannah Islamic Boarding School in community economic empowerment in Pacet Village, Mojokerto. This study uses a qualitative research approach to understand phenomena about what is experienced by research subjects, such as subjects, perceptions, motivations, actions, and so forth. The results showed that the Riyadhul Jannah Islamic boarding school had a role in community empowerment around the boarding school. The role of Islamic boarding schools is shown by the activities of the business units of PT. Rijan Dinamis Selaras which involve communities around the boarding schools so that the benefits can be felt directly by the people of Pacet Village and its surroundings.Keywords: Economic Empowerment, Islamic Business, Islamic Communities

This study was conducted in a traditional Islamic boarding school (IBS) located in West Kalimantan. Among the existed boarding schools in the area, Pondok Pesantren Abdussalam was chosen due to its potential. This study adopted qualitative approach, utilized observation, documentation, interview and focus-group discussion (FGD) technique in collecting the data which then being analyzed using action research technique. The originality of the study is as follow: the study in this topic area has not been conducted previously, especially the one which focuses on the integrated economics improvement of IBS in rural area. The study result shows that there have been some economic activities in the institution in spite of its remote location. Additionally, the economic activities have been provided the institution with some benefits. However, the effect of such activities have not been felt fully yet. There have been three reasons in regard with this situation, namely insufficient human resources who have expertise in existed economic sector, limited capital as well as infrastructure factor. We propose the synergetic model to solve these three issues. The model is a cooperative model which can be implemented both with internal institution such as internal sharia micro-finance institution or with external institution such as local government or universities.
