Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs due to the pancreas not being able to produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin. The purpose of this study was to study the effectiveness of the provision of red betel leaf boiled water on reducing blood sugar levels of Diabetes Mellitus patients in the Saling Puskesmas District of Four Lawang in 2018. The design of this study was an experimental Quasy using The One Group Pretest - Postest Design, technique data collection using primary and secondary data. The population of this study were all Diabetes Mellitus patients in the Saling Community Health Center in July-August 2018, amounting to 16 people, sampling was done by accidental sampling. The results of the study, from 16 patients with diabetes mellitus there are 9 people (56.2%) with blood sugar levels less than 200 mg / dl. Wilcoxon Sign Rank test results obtained value Z = -3.517 with p = 0.000 0.05 means significant. So the two variables have different medians, there are differences in the GDS levels of Diabetes Mellitus patients before and after administration of red betel leaf decoction water. Conclusion, Red betel leaf decoction water is significantly effective in reducing blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. It is expected that Puskesmas staff can increase public knowledge by counseling about red betel leaves as a Non-Pharmacological drug for patients with Diabetes Mellitus who do not experience complications. Keywords: Red Betel Leaf Decoction Water, Diabetes Mellitus, Blood Sugar Levels

Diabetes mellitus is one of cronical degenerative disease. The prevalence of sufferers continues to increase every year, one of the non-pharmacological therapies is exercise such as gymnastics prolanis DM and walking exercises to decrease the glucose level by the body muscles during the physical body. Objective this research is to find out the effectiveness of Prolanis and walking exercises in reducing blood sugar levels in DM patients type II. Method this study uses the Quasi experiment with pre and post with two group design. The study population was 92 DM patients type II with a sample of 82 people. Glucometer (Auto check blood glucose monitor) is used to collect the data. Wiloxon Test is used to analyze the statistical data. Results the research shows that the value of Prolanis Exercises (DM) is p=0.002 which means a significant influence on decrease of the sugar level of DM patients type II. Meanwhile the value of walking exercises is p=0.001. From the statistic test of WIlconxon Signed Rank Test, It obtained Z correlation = 7.886. It means that there is a significant correlation between Prolanis and walking exercises towards the decrease of blood sugar level of Diabetes Mellitus patients type II. Physical activities done regularly, measurably, and correctly are suggested to be considered as non-pharmacological therapies for Diabetes Mellitus patients type II to decrease blood sugar level. Elderly are high risk for the development of type 2 diabetes due to the combined effects of increasing insulin resistance and impaired pancreatic function with aging. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that causes insulin in the pancreas is not effective one of the treatments that can be done by diabetics to reduce blood sugar levels One of them with physical activity, the activity is taichi exercises.The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of taichi exercises on reducing blood sugar levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus.The design of this study was pre-experiment one group pre-test and post-test design with a population of 88 patients and a sample of 44 respondents. Research sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data collection with observation sheets. The intervention was carried out four times during 4 weeks. Before the intervention, sugar levels of type II diabetics were classified as moderate as 24 people (54.5%) and high as many as 20 people (45.5%). After the management of taichi exercises sugar levels experienced changes in the categories of good as many as 16 people (36.4%), moderate as many as 20 people (45.5%) and high as many as 8 people (18.2%). Data analized with Wilcoxon Signed Rank test with a significant level α = 0.05, the result ρ-value = 0.001 means ρ-value <α so that there is a significant effect of taichi exercises on decreasing blood sugar levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. Blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus before doing taichi exercises with the number of respondents 44 people mostly experienced changes, evidenced by the level of blood sugar levels from moderate levels to good. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder caused by pancreas that does not produce enough insulin, resulting on the inability of the body to use insulin effectively. The symptoms suffered by patients are often mild and this causes considerable people with diabetes mellitus do not realize that they have diabetes mellitus. If Diabetes Mellitus is not immediately treated, it would cause long-term complication including macrovascular diseases. Plentiful elderly with Diabetes Mellitus in Sidakarya Village do not realize that they suffer from Diabetes Mellitus and prefer to do non-pharmacological therapy. One of non-pharmacological therapies that can reduce blood sugar levels is ergonomic exercises. The aim of this study was to find out how ergonomic exercises effected towards the lower of blood sugar levels in elderly in Sidakarya Village, South Denpasar. This study is a quantitative research using Pre-Experimental Design One Group Pre-Test Post-Test with total samples of 19 elderly. Data was analysed using non-parametric test of Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test in order to compare the result of the pre-test and post-test. The result of this study showed that prior to the implementation of ergonomic exercises, it was found approximately 57,9% respondents who suffered from prediabetes and 42,1% respondents who suffered from diabetes, while after intervention of ergonomic exercises were given, there were only 7 respondents (36,8%) who suffered from diabetes and 12 respondents (63,2%) who have normal blood sugar levels. According to the calculation result, it was obtained that p value = 0,0001 < ? 0,05 and Zcount -3.824b that showed an effect of ergonomic exercises towards the lower of blood sugar levels in elderly in Sidakarya Village, South Denpasar. Based on the result of this study, ergonomic exercises is expected to be able to help reducing blood sugar levels in elderly with Diabetes Mellitus who prefer to do non-pharmacological therapy.

ABSTRACTDiabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease whose prevalence continues to increase. WHO predicts that diabetes will be 7 major diseases that will cause the death in 2030. Many people with diabetes are not aware of  it so that they get complications. The increasing number of people with diabetes mellitus who develop complications because of the bad controlling of blood sugar levels  and the lack of support from family. The Complications were observed in this study is microvascular complications. This study aims to analyze between family support and control blood sugar levels with the incidence of microvascular complications in the patients with symptoms of diabetes mellitus in the Community Health Center Jagir Surabaya.This research uses analytic observational study sample of patients with diabetes mellitus who had diabetes mellitus ≥ 5 years as many as 34 samples. The Sampling was done by the simple random sampling, while the data analysis was done by the Chi Square test.The results showed that there was no relationship between family support with symptoms of microvascular complications (p=0.069), but there is a relationship between the control of blood sugar levels with symptoms of microvascular complications (p=0.002).The Microvascular symptoms that are often experienced by people with diabetes mellitus in the Community Health Center Jagir is symptomatic neuropathy complications . The proportion of patients with diabetes mellitus who received family support at 55.9%, while  the patients with diabetes mellitus who control the blood sugar levels well totaling 17 respondents. It is expected that people with diabetes mellitus to control eating diet and regular exercise. Keywords : Family support, blood sugar levels control, symptoms of microvascular complications.

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder due to the pancreas not producing enough insulin or the body cannot use insulin that is produced effectively. Indonesia has 10.3 million sufferers and standon 7th position in the world after China, India, United States of America, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, on 2017 at the province of South Kalimantan’s on 2nd position that were 10.875, at Banjarbaru in 2017 is held on 2nd ranked which had 2.968 cases, at Idaman Banjarbaru Hospital on the Internal Medicine Polyclinic  there were 394 patients from January till April and estimated that will be 100 diabetes mellitus patients. This research is aimed to knowing the correlation of knowledge and compliance of diet with blood sugar levels of patients with  diabetes mellitus  at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic in Banjarbaru Hospital 2018. This type of research is a description of correlation research using cross sectional design. This research was carried out to 55 respondents. The results that tested using Chi-Square with a value of α=0.1 proved to have no correlation of knowledge with blood sugar levels (p=0.234) and proved to have a correlation of adherence to diet with blood sugar levels (p=0.00). From this study it can be concluded that knowledge proved to have not correlation with blood sugar levels and dietary compliance was shown to have a correlation with blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients at Internal Medicine Polyclinic Idaman Banjarbaru Hospital 2018.

Introduction: : Diabetes mellitus is a condition where the body cannot produce the insulin hormone as needed so that there is an excess of normal blood sugar levels. Giving family empowerment in clients with gangrene foot diabetes should be done comprehensively using the nursing process. Interventions that can be done are family empowerment to motivate and improve the self-efficacy of patients with diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect self-efficacy before and after the implementation of family empowerment in nursing in patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods: Pre-experiment research with pretest and posttest study design without control group. Forty respondents who met the inclusion criteria were then tested using purposive sampling. The instrument in this study used a self-efficacy questionnaire. The dependent variable of this study is self-efficacy, while the independent variable is family empowerment using the paired sample t-test parametric analysis method. Results: Based on what was answered by the respondents there was a significant influence which showed difference after the posttest. The results obtained values: α = 0.05 which calculated the results of p = 0.00 (p <0.05). This means that, after a posttest, there was a decrease in motivation and self-efficacy. Conclusion: Researchers concluded that there is an effect of family empowerment on patients with diabetes mellitus. The implication of this study is that the role of family is very important in healing patients.

Diabetes mellitus was more commonly known as diabetes was a disease or disorder that affects the ability of the body in amounts or concentrations of glucose or sugar in the blood than normal. Accorded to WHO (2009), the number of patients with Diabetes Mellitus as many as 7.0 million people, WHO estimates the number of patients with diabetes mellitus have increased in the year 2030 as many as 12.0 million people. This type of research was a quasi-experiment (quasi experiment) with a model of design time series design. This study aims to determine the effect of exercise on blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus in the Desa Paluh Baji Kecamatan Pantai Labu Kabupaten Deli Serdang 2012. The population in this study were all patients with diabetes mellitus in the Desa Paluh Baji Kecamatan Pantai Labu Kabupaten Deli Serdang week as many as 54 people, with a sample of as many as 35 people. Sampled technique with a non probability purposive sampling technique approach. From the results obtained that all respondents have a blood sugar> 120 mg / dl before exercise and the majority of respondents had a blood glucose <120 mg / dl as many as 28 people (20.0%) performed after exercise. Based on the results of statistical tests obtained p-value = 0.012 (α = 0.05) we can conclude there was significant influence between blood sugar levels before and after exercise. It was recommended to patients with diabetes mellitus in order to apply the exercises in an effort to decrease blood sugar levels and to further research in order to further develop the material handling problems researchers about how blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus.

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) merupakan salah satu penyakit degeneratif tertinggi ke-enam di dunia, dimana prevalensi diabetes semakin meningkat sejalan dengan perubahan gaya hidup masyarakat yang cenderung konsumtif dan minim aktifitas fisik. Diabetes Mellitus ditandai dengan kenaikan gula darah karena kelainan insulin, resistensi insulin atau bisa juga keduanya. Salah satu upaya untuk penanganan dan pencegahan timbulnya peningkatan DM tipe 2 adalah dengan pemberian edukasi menggunakan media booklet. Edukasi merupakan penyampaian pesan kesehatan kepada kelompok atau individu dengan tujuan memperoleh pemahaman dan peningkatan kualitas hidup yang ditandai dengan penurunan HBA1c yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pemahaman, kualitas hidup dan perbedaan kadar gula darah sebelum dan sesudah pemberian edukasi dengan media booklet terhadap pasien DM tipe 2 di Sidoarjo. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Random Control Trial Design. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan Juni sampai Oktober 2020 dengan sampel 60 pasien. Pengukuran pemahaman menggunakan kuesioner DKQ Quessioner, perubahan perilaku menggunakan kuesioner DQOL sedangkan penetapan kadar HBA1c dengan alat tes gula darah. Hasil analisis kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test dan uji Mann Whitney dimana terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara, pemahaman, kualitas hidup serta kadar gula darah HBA1c sebelum dan sesudah edukasi.  Pada hasil uji Spearman’Rank’s kelompok intervensi diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,586 dengan signifikansi 0,001 untuk pemahaman dengan HBA1c, hasil pemahaman dengan kualitas hidup diperoleh korelasi dengan nilai 0,552 dan p= 0,002. Pada uji korelasi antara HBA1c dengan kualitas hidup diperoleh nilai -0,434, sedangkan signifikansi diperoleh p=0,017, Hal ini menunjukan hubungan antara variable didapat korelasi sedang. Berdasarkan penelitian ini maka dapat disimpulan bahwa terdapat efektivitas edukasi terhadap pemahaman, A1c dan kualitas hidup. Kata Kunci: Diabetes Mellitus, Edukasi, Pemahaman, Kualitas Hidup, Kadar HBA1C, Kualitas Hidup  Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is one of the sixth highest degenerative diseases in the world, the prevalence of diabetes is increasing in line with changes in people's lifestyles that tend to be consuming and minimal physical activity. DM is characterized by an increase in blood sugar due to insulin disorders, insulin resistance or both. One of the efforts to handle and prevent an increase in type 2 diabetes is trough education using booklet media. Education is the delivery of health messages to groups or individuals to gain understanding and improve the quality of life, marked by a better decrease in HBA1c. This study used a Random Control Trial Design. This study aims to determine the understanding, quality of life and differences in blood sugar levels before and after giving education with booklet media to type 2 DM patients in Sidoarjo. This study was conducted from June-October 2020 with a sample of 60 patients. Measurement of understanding using the DKQ Quessioner questionnaire, behavior change using the DQOL questionnaire while HBA1c levels using a blood sugar test kit. The results of quantitative analysis were carried out using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the Mann Whitney test, from these results there were significant differences between, understanding, quality of life and blood sugar levels of HBA1c before and after education. While the results of the Spearman 'Ranks test for the intervention group obtained a correlation coefficient of -0.586 with a significance of 0.001 for understanding with HBA1c, the results of understanding with quality of life obtained a correlation with a value of 0.552 and p = 0.002. In the correlation test between HBA1c and quality of life, the value -0.434, while the significance was p = 0.017, and this shows the relationship between variables obtained moderate correlation. From this research, there is educational effectiveness on understanding, A1c and quality of life.

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease that arises in a person due to an increase in blood glucose levels above normal values. WHO Data (2016) showed the case of diabetes in Indonesia has an increased tendency of 5.7% in 2007 to 6.9% in 2016. This Data also showed that diabetes with complications is the third highest cause of death in Indonesia. Referring to national prevalency, the Province of West Sumatra has total Diabetes Mellitus as much as 1.3% which is in the order of 14 of the 33 provinces in Indonesia. Incidence of diabetes mellitus disease in Padang City is in the sixth order with the amount of 22,523 cases (DKK Padang, 2017). This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the decoction of red betel leaf to decrease blood sugar levels of people with diabetes mellitus. The research design used was Quasy Experimentwith pretests and posttest group. This research conducted in the area of Puskesmas Padang Pasir from April to August 2019. Sampling techniques was purposive sampling with 10 research subjects, 5 people with 100 ml decoction of betel leaf and 5 people are given a 125 ml decoction of betel leaf for three times daily. The results of the average value before and after the intervention of blood sugar levels can be seen a decrease in blood sugar levels of respondents at a dose of 125 ml. In addition, the time of intervention should be more than 7 days for the effectiveness.
