Industrial culture is both a product and a mover of industrial development. The owners of industries and the workers have a long term relationship which is derived from the operation of the sector, and that constitutes industrial culture. The study was carried out through a deep literature review whereby various issues pertinent to industrial culture and development, were articulated for the identification of the highlights critical for the advancement of the industrial sector in Tanzania. A change in perception and embracing of the new culture are aspects necessary for the perfection of industrialization and industrial production systems. Industrial culture requires a new vision for industry owners, industry employees, and both the potential and actual consumers of the branded industrial goods. For industry owners, this implies a change from exporting raw materials to the export of standardized industrial products. For the consumers, a change envisaged is from the consumption of branded agro-products to the consumption of branded and standardized industrial goods. At the current onset of industrialization, the Tanzania government requires an understanding of what an industrialized country should respond to addressing cultural issues for prospective positive operation and growth of the sector. The broad agro-based industrial development scheduled for the country requires an integration of various trans-sectoral strategies extending to issues of employment, industrial planning, and spatial location of industries. As such, the main findings of the paper stresses that there is the paucity of industrial culture in Tanzania, hence the need to accommodate it for sustainable industrial development. Political readiness is essential for the selection of appropriate industrial technologies to cope with the modern production process. Cultural transformation is a necessity for the enhancement of the benefits of agglomeration and the advancement of the sector. The above are the preconditions for a move towards a meaningful and appropriate industrial path for Tanzania.

In the paper, we investigate the impact of global trends Industry 4.0 on the structural transformations of Ukrainian industrial sector through the prism of global technological challenges. The current structural imbalances of Ukrainian industrial development and highlights the opportunities that 4.0 technologies provide for innovative industrial renewal are considered; and the readiness for adoption of innovative technologies of Industry 4.0 in the industrial enterprises is assessed. The key conclusion of the study is that further innovative transformation of global production will lead to inevitable changes in the organization and management of production processes. Based on the research results, an effective solution to certain problems has been proposed. The key finding of the research is that representatives of Ukrainian industry though perceive the importance of this tool face many obstacles in its implementation. Considering research results the efficient solutions of identified problems were proposed. They include the establishing strengthening the strategic partnership between the state science and business institutions in the process of stimulating cluster development; improvement of innovation infrastructure, creating the innovation ecosystems for the capitalization of scientific developments and the commercialization of innovations; creation of competitive conditions for all market participants, including equal conditions for access to the raw materials market, technology transfer, protection of property rights; reforming educational infrastructure; creation of a favorable investment environment with the help of mechanisms of state guarantees for foreign investments.

The authors proved that contrary to the global trends of development of science-intensive neo-industrial economy in Ukraine there is deindustrialization of the economy associated with outpacing growth of production and export of raw materials with a low level of technological processing and added value. The article examines the main factors of the deindustrialization of Ukraine’s economy, in particular, a significant degree of depreciation of fixed assets of industrial enterprises and production infrastructure, insufficient volume and unsatisfactory structure of capital investment to restore worn-out fixed capital, negative dynamics of foreign direct investment in the spheres of national economy such as innovations, etc. The authors also highlighted and analyzed the institutional factors influencing the industrial development of Ukraine, namely: the “presence” of the state in the economy, corruption and the shadow economy. The negative impact of the institutional environment on the innovative modernization of the national industrial sector was confirmed with the help of economic and mathematical modelling. The main directions of intensification of the state ‘s activity to overcome the institutional dysfunctions and traps formed during the period of market reform of the national economy are substantiated.

This article addresses a number of challenges related to the complexity of industry research. The points of view in solving these problems were studied, and methodological bases for the development of the industrial sector were developed. It is proposed to create in the lower reaches of the Amu Darya large centers of the oil and gas chemical industry, mining industry with non-ferrous metallurgy, industrial bases for the agro-drainage cycle of production, light and processing industries. The first priority should be the formation of the foundations of the market environment in industries. This process is currently taking place in two directions: the creation of new private, joint-stock and other forms of enterprises, as well as through the modernization of industries, the second priority area of economic reforms in industry should be the creation of enterprises that are technologically advanced and have the ability to produce innovative products; the third priority area is the development of infrastructure industries that produce life support products for the population and the service sector, as well as the creation of quickly recouped industrial enterprises that provide deep processing of agricultural raw materials and mineral resources.

Portuguese forests have always played an essential role in the socioeconomic development of national rural areas, but also in several forest-based industrial sectors, such as the cork, pulp and paper, and wood panels industries. In addition to these dominant sectors, there are also several other uses for forest timber, such as being the major raw materials to the production of furniture or devoted to the growing biomass pellets production industry. This review article presents the evolution of the forest industrial sector throughout the recent past, and its impact on the development of the rural environment, from a socioeconomic perspective, namely concerning the jobs and value-added creation, as well as the importance of the forest in national industrial development. It shows the importance of sustainable forest management for the development of the rural environment, as an essential sector for the creation of wealth and for the establishment of populations in the interior regions of the country.

The book under review is a concise but fairly in-depth study of the prospects for export diversification from the Less Developed Countries (henceforth labeled as LDCs) particularly to Developed Countries (henceforth labeled as OCs). Given the multiple problems faced by the LOCs in exporting to the OCs - protectionist policies with regards to manufactured exports, volatility of prices obtained for raw material exports, etc. - the study analyses the potential for following an intermediate route. The important issues in the export of semi -processed and wholly processed raw materials are discussed. 111ese issues range from the problems and potentials for the location of processing facilities in the LOCs to the formulation of appropriate policies to encourage an export of processed goods rather than raw materials. Such policies will be useful both in solving the balance of-payments problems of the LDCs and in attaining the goal of the Lima Declaration and Plan of Action on Industrial Development and Co-operation, that called for 2S percent of world industrial production to be located in the LOCs by the year 2000.

The BID (Board of Industrial Development) framed the legislation and it was introduced before the state legislation and passed in the form of Maharashtra Industrial Act which gave birth to Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), as a separate corporation on August 1, 1962. The BID was the first personnel strength of MIDC. A small ceremony at Wagle Estate Thane, under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister Shri Y.B. Chavan, marked the birth of MIDC on August 1, 1962. The Board of Industrial Development during its existence between October 1, 1960 and August 1, 1962 has done enough spade work to identify the locations for setting up industrial areas in different parts of the state. Thus, right in the first year of establishment MIDC came up with 14 industrial areas, to initiate action for infrastructure and help entrepreneurs set up the industrial units in those areas. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation is the nodal industrial infrastructure development agency of the Maharashtra Government with the basic objective of setting up industrial areas with a provision of industrial infrastructure all over the state for planned and systematic industrial development. MIDC is an innovative, professionally managed, and user friendly organization that provides the world industrial infrastructure. MIDC has played a vital role in the development of industrial infrastructure in the state of Maharashtra. As the state steps into the next millennium, MIDC lives up to its motto Udyamat Sakal Samruddhi i.e., prosperity to all through industrialization. Indeed, in the endeavor of the state to retain its prime position in the industrial sector, MIDC has played a pivotal role in the last 35 years. MIDC has developed 268 industrial estates across the state which spread over 52653 hectares of land. The growth of the Corporation, achieved in the various fields, during the last three years, could be gauged from the fact that the area currently in possession of MIDC has doubled from 25,000 hectares in 1995.

With the onset of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the business environment becomes inherent in changes that occur with maximum speed, as well as characterized by the systemic nature of the consequences. One of them is the transformation of operational management models in industrial enterprises. The modern manufacturing system should focus not only on speed of response and flexibility, but also on the cost and quality of products. Integration of effective models: agile manufacturing, quick response manufacturing and lean production, in order to extract the best from them is proposed. The purpose of this study is to analyze this flexible manufacturing system and to relate it to the current state of the Russian industrial development. Theoretical and practical aspects of this model are presented. The examples of the flexible models introduction in the Russian industrial sector is allocated. The conclusion about the necessity of the flexible manufacturing systems implementation for the Russian industrial development is drawn.

Introduction. The intensification of globalization processes that characterize the beginning of the new millennium has led to the emergence of supranational structures of regional and global scope. The deepening of Ukraine's integration into the international trading space causes new opportunities and threats. The relatively large size of the territory of Ukraine as a European state and its administrative structure causes a number of differences in the socio-economic development of its regions. Identifying regional differences in foreign trade in agri-food products and their causes is an urgent task of the study, given the leading role of the agro-industrial sector in Ukraine's foreign trade. The aim of the study is to identify regional differences of foreign trade in agri-food products and identify their causes. Results of work. The analysis results of foreign trade in agro-food products on the average for 2016-2018 by regions are given. It is determined that the four leading export regions are Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kyiv and Vinnytsia, as they account for about 47,9 %. The regions were evaluated according to the following indicators: the volume of regional exports, the volume of production of cereals and legumes, the production of sunflower seeds. According to the results of the analysis, each region was assigned a corresponding rank, on the basis of the values of which the correlation coefficients of the regions ranks were calculated. It is determined that there is a close link between the region's place in the national agri-food export ratings and the production of cereals and legumes; and there is a median link between the region's place in the national agri-food export and sunflower seed ratings. Imports of agro-food products by regions are considered, where Kiev region is the absolute leader, which together with Odessa, Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk regions have 64.5 % of all corresponding imports. The analysis of agro-food products import by groups of goods is presented. The regions ranking by import volumes of agri-food products and disposable income per person has been done. The obtained coefficient of correlation of ranks testifies to the average degree of relation close to high. Conclusions. It is proved that the differences in the volumes of crop production mainly cereals, legumes and sunflower are the basis for regional differentiation of agricultural food exports, which testifies to the raw nature of exports, stagnation of livestock and unsatisfactory development of the domestic food industry. Differentiation of imports of agro-industrial products is caused by the difference in income of the population by regions. The objective of this study was two-fold, firstly, it analysed industrial development trends and deceleration across major Indian states since 1980-81 and, investigated industrial development in Punjab, a mineral resources deprived and a land-locked state. It was important as the policy changed at the national level in 1991 and removed various benefits for industrial development in mineralresources deprived regions and economically backward regions. To analyse the objective, both primary as well as secondary information was used. Findings of the study highlighted that industrial restructuring took place across major states in India during 1980-81 to 2017-18. In general, economically poor states and mineral resources deprived states witnessed the deceleration of the industrial sector. The position of the industrial sector in Punjab declined as compared to other states and compared to its past. The discussions with various stakeholders, including sampled industrial units, representatives of industrial associations, etc., highlighted various economic and non-economic factors behind the ongoing industrial deceleration in Punjab.

The article analyzes the current state of production activities of the agricultural sector of Cherkasy region economy, its organizational and legal structures and identifies strategic directions for its development. It is proved that the priority solution of urgent problems, such as: redistribution of land and property; restructuring of enterprises and forms of management; development of cooperation; introduction of market management methods - management and marketing; state regulation of the agricultural economy, financial, credit and tax systems; development of markets for agricultural products, material and technical resources and services; intensification and diversification of foreign economic activity will contribute to the development of the agro-industrial sphere of Cherkasy region. It is determined that the years 2021-2027 should be considered the strategic period, during which the provision of the country's population with food at the level of scientifically sound standards, growth of export potential and reduction of imports should be achieved. The necessity of introduction of innovative activity and process of innovations introduction in the production activity of the agricultural enterprises which are a basis of economic growth is proved. Obstacles to the innovative development of the regional agricultural sector are analyzed. The priority directions of innovative development of agro-industrial enterprises are indicated. The need to develop an innovative policy of agricultural enterprises in order to increase the efficiency of their operation is determined. It is noted that the priority of the agro-industrial sector development of Cherkasy region and its leading industries will provide the population with food products, industry with raw materials, and foreign trade with the export goods. It is established that innovative activity in agricultural enterprises is a decisive factor in the effective development and increase of agricultural production, significant changes in its structure, reassessment of the motivation system that meet the current principles of the Cherkasy Region Development Strategy for 2021-2027, which determines key vectors of the region in the long-term.
