Mother's knowledge is one factor in the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Research in Ghana (2008), 1.3 million infant deaths can be prevented by the provision of breast milk (ASI) in infants from the first day of birth until under the age of 5 years. If breastfeeding starts in the first 1 hour after birth, This figure rises to 22% from 16%,. This study aims to determine the differences in knowledge about Exclusive Breastfeeding and the factors that influence it in post partum mothers in BPM with Puskesmas in the East Jakarta area. Research Design: Observational analytic study with the approach used is cross sectional. The results showed that there were significant differences (P = 0.001) between the place of labor and the knowledge of nursing mothers. Mothers who gave birth at the Good Knowledge Midwife Practice (PMB) were 78.6%, while those in the Puskesmas were only 38.5%. Characteristics of respondents related to knowledge of post partum mothers about breastfeeding were Education (P 0.01), Economy, (P 0.000) and ethnicity (P 0.019). Factors-education, economy and ethnicity influence mother's knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. Place of birth in the Independent Practice Midwives have the opportunity to increase knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding 3 times compared to the knowledge of mothers who give birth at the Puskesmas after controlled by the Education variable.

Background: Breast milk is the most valuable source of food for infants, no food is comparable. However in many countries around the world including Vietnam, the breastfeeding prevalence has been declining. A report of the Ministry of Health showed that only 19.6% of infants in Vietnam were exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months. The study was conducted in Hoi An with the aim at describing the situation of exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of the mothers in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province and; identifying some factors affecting exclusive breast feeding for the first 6 months in the study area. Methods: A crosssectional descriptive study was conducted in Hoi An city in December 2014. 516 mothers of infants aged from 6 to 12 months were directly interviewed on the basis of a structured questionnaire. Information about general characteristics of mothers and their infants, their knowledge and attitude of breastfeeding and the feeding types of their baby for the first 6 months was collected. Multivariable logistic regression model was used to identify factors affecting exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months. Results: The exclusive breastfeeding prevalence for the first 6 months is 22.3%. Knowledge in breastfeeding and attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months are factors that significantly related to exclusive breastfeeding prevalence for the first 6 months (OR = 3.3; p=0.001 and OR=10.4; p<0.001, respectively). Conclusion: The exclusive breastfeeding rate for the first 6 months in Hoi An city is low. The promoting antenatal education in exclusive breastfeeding is necessary solution to improve exclusive breastfeeding rate for the first 6 months. Exclusive breastfeeding provides nutritional, and developmental psychological advantages with regard to general wellbeing of an infant and has dramatically reduced infant deaths in developing countries. This study assessed the Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Exclusive Breastfeeding among women attending antenatal clinic in four communities within Gwagwalada Area Council of FCT, Abuja. The questionnaire sought socio-demographic information, Religion and cultural influence as well as knowledge and awareness level of EBF practice. The data collected was analyzed using Odd ratio, frequencies and simple percentages. The result of the study showed that 70.0% had the knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding, 54.4% exclusively breastfed their newborns for the first six months of life. There was positive attitude among the participants towards exclusive breastfeeding as 70.0% of them agreed that breast milk alone is sufficient for the baby during the first six months of life. There was high level of knowledge on exclusive breastfeeding among therespondents, almost half of the participants practiced exclusive breastfeeding and relatively all the respondents had positive attitude toward exclusive breastfeeding. However, Illiteracy (60.0%; OR = 1.5) and Culture (66.7%; OR = 2.0) negatively influenced exclusive breastfeeding in the area council. Although, majority of the women in this study had good knowledge and attitude towards Exclusive Breastfeeding (EBF), the practice is not high. There is still need for improvement. More awareness on the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding must be emphasized in order to increase the knowledge and compliance of the women as only 54.4% actually practiced it. Promotion of EBF should involve programmes that will capture not only nursing mothers and health workers, but other members in the communities, most especially husbands and older women who are involved in child care.

Exclusive breastfeeding is breast milk given to babies aged 0-6 months. This breast milk contains immune substances that can protect babies from various infections, bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi. However, not many breastfeeding mothers provide exclusive breastfeeding. One of the factors of the mother not giving exclusive breastfeeding is because the mother works. Working mothers, especially factory workers, have limited time constraints due to work schedules, shift systems at work, rest time, and physically working mothers will be tired after work, so there is no motivation to provide lots of breast milk stock. To describe the experience of working mothers in exclusive breastfeeding at the Pringapus Public Health Center, Semarang Regency.  This study uses qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Mothers who are the samples in this study are mothers who work active in the factory located in the work area of the Pringapus Community Health Center Semarang district as many as 5 people. The data source used 12 informants consists of 5 main informants and 7 triangulation informants. Collection technique the data were conducted in-depth interviews. Data analysis using analysis qualitative descriptive.  All informants they have given statements. Where all have good knowledge related to exclusive breastfeeding for children. All informants have good knowledge regarding exclusive breastfeeding. Where they have been able to explain or answer questions given by researchers about knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding, experiences of mothers and experiences of expressing breast milk, efforts to increase milk production, support, obstacles and then hopes. Even though some of their answers were missing, none of their answers were wrong. It is hoped that it can provide knowledge and information to the public regarding exclusive breastfeeding (not giving babies other food or drinks, including plain water, apart from breastfeeding, except for drugs and vitamin or mineral drops, and expressing milk is also allowed) ABSTRAK ASI Eksklusif merupakan ASI yang diberikan pada bayi usia 1-6 bulan.
