Background: Eye fatigue is often referred to as eye strain or asthenopia. Eye fatigue can be caused by work that requires high focus such as sewing. One of the symptoms of eye fatigue is eye pain. The World Health Organization (WHO) records that the incidence of asthenopia (tired eyes) in the world is an average of 75% per year. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of a combination therapy between eye exercise and giving kencur (aromatic ginger/Kaempferia galanga) on the pain level of eye fatigue. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental research design with pretest and posttest nonequivalent control group. The research samples were selected using a Non-Probability Sampling technique with a consecutive sampling method. The number of samples selected was 36, they were divided into the experiment group and the control group. Therapy is given once. Bivariate analysis was performed using Wilcoxon test, paired t-test and independent t-test. The research instrument used was the NRS pain scale. Results: The experiment group’s pre-posttest pain scales were 5.06 and 2.78. The control group’s pre-posttest pain scales were 4.50 and 4.00. The bivariate test results of the pre-posttest pain scale of the experiment group and the control group showed p values = 0.000 and 0.001. The results of the bivariate test on the posttest between the experimental group and the control group showed p value = 0.028. Conclusion: Combination of eye exercise and giving kencur has been scientifically proven to reduce eye fatigue better than just eye exercise.

Childbirth and birth is a physiological process that must be experienced by a mother. Pain during labor is caused by the first stage of labor in which contractions cause dilation and thinning of the cervix and uterine ischemia due to contraction of the myometrial arteries. These contractions cause the opening of the cervix to begin labor. Various attempts are made to reduce labor pain, both pharmacologically and non-pharmacological. The non-pharmacological method applied is a distraction with birth balls. The research aims to prove the effectiveness of the use of birthing ball on the reduction of labor pain in the first stage of labor in the active phase. This study used an experimental research design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample was 20 maternity mothers at the Lompoe Health Center, who received treatment and 20 people as control samples. It applied the purposive sampling technique. The instrument of observation was the pain scale using the Faces Pain Rating Scale. Data processing using the Wilcoxon-test to determine the effect of the treatment given. Based on the results of the bivariate analysis showed that the value of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) is <0,001. Therefore,  the value of Sig<0,001 <value of α=0.05 which means that Ha was accepted. In conclusion, there is an influence of using the birthing ball to reduce the level of pain in the first stage of labor in the active mother.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that babies get exclusive breastfeeding during the first 6 months, but many breastfeeding mothers are unable to give their milk because of lack of milk production. Based on the profile of the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Health, 2017 the achievement of babies receiving exclusive breastfeeding in the North Sumatra region is still relatively low, only reaching 45.74%, the figure is far below compared to other provinces such as West Nusa Tenggara reaching 87.35%, West Sumatra 68.32 %, South Sumatra 60.36%, DKI Jakarta 67.40% and Riau province 57.65%. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of banana inflorescence on milk production. This research used  the Eksperimen method with Pretest-Posttest With Control Group design, with the technique of taking Simple Random sampling with a sample size of 20 people, 10 experimental groups and 10 control groups. Data collection began in May-June 2020 using observation sheets and measuring cups (cc). This research used the univariate analysis with Paired T-Test and Bivariate Analysis with Independent T Test, with a significance level of 95%. The results showed an in the Eksperimen group who were given a 459 cc banana infloresence decoction and an average value in the Control group 310 cc which meant there were differences in milk production around 149 cc and p. 0.01 (0.05). Conclusion  banana inflorescence influence to  breast milk production in nursing mothers 0-6 months old.

Purpose: The effect of the warm cinnamon compress aims to determine the benefits of the warm cinnamon compress to reduce the pain scale in sufferers of gout arthritis. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pre and post control group approach. The sample in this study amounted to 50 respondents, the sample was taken by stratified random. Results: The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that the p value in the control group was 0.850 and the intervention group obtained a p value of 0.000. The results of the Paired T-test showed that the p value in the control group was 0.594 and the intervention group obtained a p value of 0.000. Independent T-test results obtained p value 0.000 <0.05, meaning that there is an effect of warm cinnamon compresses on reducing pain in patients with gout arthritis before and after giving warm cinnamon compresses between the intervention group and the control group. Aromatherapy can be used to reduce post-sectio caesaria (SC) pain. In this study, the aromatherapy used was orange essential oil. This quasi-experimental study used a pre and posttest design with control group. The sample of the study was 74 mothers with 24 hours post-SC. The treatment group was the mothers who were given orange essential oil aromatherapy (37 people), while the control group was those who were not given (37 people). Sampling technique used consecutive sampling. Data collection about the characteristics of the respondents was done using a questionnaire, while the measurement of pain was carried out using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) observation sheet. The analysis consisted of bivariate analysis with Wilcoxon test. There was a decrease in the pain scale in the treatment group after being given aromatherapy essential oil orange from 4.14 ± 1.669 to 2.59 ± 1.334 (p-value = 0.000). In the control group, the change was from 2.86 ± 0.419 to 2.78 ± 0.479 (p-value = 0.373). This meant that the treatment group showed higher reduced pain than the control group. Therefore, orange essential oil aromatherapy was effective in reducing pain scale 24 hours post-SC.

ABSTRACT Toilet training is an effort to train children to be able to control and urinate (BAK) and defecate (BAB). Toilet training is one of the main tasks of children at toddler age. Toilet training is one of the main tasks of children in toddler age which is very important to be done to create independence in children in controlling BAK and BAB and children know the parts of the body and their functions. Data in 2012 shows that ± 60% of parents do not teach toilet training to children from an early age. The aim of the study was to find out the effectiveness of toilet training education on maternal behavior and toilet skills in toddler age training (18-36 months). The study was conducted in July-August 2018. This type of quantitative research used the design of the Quasy pretest and posttest experiment with non-equivalent control group design. Samples were 36 mothers and 36 children with purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used Paired t test, Wilcoxon test, Man-Whitney test an Independent t test. The results showed that toilet training education through lecture methods, modules and maze games was more effective than toilet training education through lecture and leaflet methods on children's knowledge and abilities. Conversely, for the role of mothers in supervision there is no significant difference in effectiveness. Health education is recommended in health promotion programs to increase maternal knowledge, the role of mothers and the ability of toilet training children independently.
