Abstract  Diabetes Mellitus is a worldwide metabolic disease and becomes a challenge for the health practitioner. Unfortunately, less than half of these diabetic individuals are aware of their conditions, and less than 1% of those receiving medical treatment achieve their therapeutic targets. Acupressure is an alternative method that is believed to be an effective way of treating diabetic patients with reducing symptoms and complications. This research aims to discover the effect of period acupressure therapy on blood sugar levels in type two diabetes mellitus patients in Lumajang Acupressure Clinic. It uses an observational analytic design with pre-test and post-test approach. It involved 36 participants who were split into two groups and contained 18 participants for each group. The first group received acupressure therapy for three weeks, while the second group received eight weeks. Both groups underwent acupressure at the San Yin Jiao (SP-6) acupoint for 20 minutes three times a week. All participants in both groups had their blood glucose checked before and after acupressure therapy. The results showed that the two groups were significantly different for the paired t-test and the independent t-test. The acupressure therapy period has an effect on decreasing blood sugar levels in type two diabetes mellitus patients at Lumajang acupressure clinic. Keywords             : Acupressure, the period of therapy, blood glucose level, type two diabetes mellitusCorrespondence   : [email protected]

ABSTRACT   Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that increased every year and caused many complications. There are four pillars in the management of DM, namely education, nutrition, pharmacology and physical training. According to PERKENI, physical exercise for people with DM can be done 3-4x/week with a duration of 30 minutes. This study aims to determine the effect of exercise moderate activities carried out by Diabetes Mellitus in Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang on blood sugar levels at a time. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a total sample of 30 people who were obtained by total sampling. The research data was taken by checking blood sugar before and after physical activity with aerobic type, which is done 1x/week for four weeks by using Easy Touch GCU. Wilcoxon test results found a p-value of 0.285 which means moderate exercise activities carried out by people with diabetes in Palembang Muhammadiyah Hospital which is carried out once a week for four weeks does not affect blood sugar levels at the time.

Research in 2012 at Dr. Hospital M. Djamil Padang leftovers from 66.0% of patients treated (Mourbas, 2012), the 2016 study of the patient's remaining food was 23.4%. This figure exceeds the restriction of food leftovers based on nutritional MSS in hospitals <20%. The high number affects the healing of Diabetes Mellitus patients. This study aims to determine the effect of booklet use in nutritional counseling on changes in knowledge of Diabetes Mellitus patients in Dr. Hospital. M.Djamil Padang. This type of research is a quasi-experiment experiment designed by Two Group Pretest Postest Design, a sample of 42 people for 2 research groups. Knowledge data by interview method, questionnaire, measured before and after nutrition counseling was given. The analysis was done by univariate and bivariate using different T test 2 dependent and independent mean with a confidence level of 95% (α = 5%). The results of the study were 66.7% - 81.0% of respondents had good knowledge. in the group that received counseling with a booklet after being given counseling (81.0%), the average value of knowledge was higher in the booklet group compared to the group without the booklet both before and after counseling. The results of the independent T-test obtained no differences in knowledge in the two counseling groups (p> 0.05) both before and after counseling. The conclusion is that nutritional counseling using booklets does not affect changes in knowledge but can increase knowledge about DM disease.

Diabetes Mellitus in the world is one of the health problems that cause death. IDF data (2013) says Indonesia is the seventh largest country in the case of Diabetes Militus. Diabetes Militus in West Kalimantan Province increased from 0.6% in 2007 to 0.8% in 2013, this number increased compared to 2012, which was 4866 cases (Pontianak City Service 2014 in Salim, I.O, 2016). Based on 30 samples taken from the Purnama Public Health Center, 15 men and 15 women were found to suffer from Diabetes Militus type 2. Research Results: The results showed that all honey can reduce blood sugar levels, especially forest honey. The results of data analysis using Anova statistical test obtained p value Pre test 0.52> α: 0.05 and Post test 0.113> α: 0.05 showed that there were no significant values of the three types of honey on the decrease in blood sugar levels. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study concluded that there was no effectiveness of the types of honey (forest honey, honey kelulut and livestock honey) to reduce blood sugar levels in the Purnama Community Health Center Keywords: Honey, Blood Sugar Levels   ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Diabetes Militus adalah sekelompok penyakit metabolik yang ditandai dengan hiperglikemia atau peningkatan gula darah yang terjadi akibat sekresi insulin abnormal.
