Assessment is an important activity in any educational process to evaluate the learner’s knowledge about the concepts learnt.. Evaluation through objective testing is common in all evaluation system, where Multiple Choice Questions, Fill in the Blanks, Matching etc. are used for evaluation. The method of objective testing is not sufficient to completely verify all the concepts learnt by the learner. Thus computer assisted assessment of short text answers is developed. Here we present a technique which also considers grammatical errors during automated evaluation of oneline sentence. In this paper we have define a set of evaluation criteria that covers all the relevant aspects of an essay assessment system and discussion on how this technique find syntactical errors during evaluation of student response.

After the occurrence of significant natural disaster, the resulting damaged roads interrupt the rapid emergency response for disaster, and therefore, the disaster relief department is desperate for the destruction condition of roads in the devastated region, which can help make relief decisions and deploy rescue actions. In view of the practical needs of the disaster relief department and the objective fact that at present there is not any special, high automatic damage detection system of roads, we develop Road Damage Detection and Evaluation System (RODDES). Using the basic road data in GIS (Geographical information system) as the prior knowledge, the system extracts the pre-disaster and post-disaster roads from post-disaster remotely sensed imageries, and then detects the damaged regions and evaluates the destruction condition. This paper emphasizes the overall design of the system and the submodule design and their functions. The system is applied in detecting and evaluating the damaged roads in Wenchuan County, China and the experiment results show that nearly all producer’s and user’s accuracies of the road extractions and damage detections are above 75%, and it accurately evaluates the destruction condition of roads.

AbstractLandforms are spaces for human life, habitats for animals and plants, and areas that provide various ecological services. However, human development has undermined landform where it should be kept as an important human asset. In South Korea, to reduce this damage, a system was created to evaluate the conservation value of landforms, and either designate them as conservation areas or obtain permission for their development in advance. However, the general public, who demands the development of landforms continuously, have frequently questioned the subjectivity of the evaluation criteria used for the conservation of landforms. National Institute of Ecology (NIE) in South Korea was carried out a project which was to increase the reliability of these criteria by modifying the conservation evaluation system into a quantitative system. This paper aims to introduce the geomorphological survey as a part of the Investigation of National Environment (INE), and an improved evaluation system via the Delphi, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), on-site verification, etc. As a result of this quantitative evaluation using detailed scoring indicators, specific criteria, and weights for evaluation, there is a low correlation between the indicators, and this confirmed that each indicator was evaluated correctly. In addition, as the quantitative evaluation results and the experts’ opinions generally coincided with the final evaluation grades and values, this indirectly confirmed that the experts who participated in the 4th INE agreed with the evaluation results. This research demonstrates a method that can be used to improve the objective assessment of landforms by experts’ opinion surveys. Future research could use the assessment system developed in this research and apply it to other surveys or countries.

The online English teaching system has certain requirements for the intelligent scoring system, and the most difficult stage of intelligent scoring in the English test is to score the English composition through the intelligent model. In order to improve the intelligence of English composition scoring, based on machine learning algorithms, this study combines intelligent image recognition technology to improve machine learning algorithms, and proposes an improved MSER-based character candidate region extraction algorithm and a convolutional neural network-based pseudo-character region filtering algorithm. In addition, in order to verify whether the algorithm model proposed in this paper meets the requirements of the group text, that is, to verify the feasibility of the algorithm, the performance of the model proposed in this study is analyzed through design experiments. Moreover, the basic conditions for composition scoring are input into the model as a constraint model. The research results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper has a certain practical effect, and it can be applied to the English assessment system and the online assessment system of the homework evaluation system algorithm system.

The coastline of Western Pomerania has natural and cultural assets that have promoted the development of tourism, but also require additional measures to ensure the traditional features and characteristics are protected. This is to ensure that new developments conform to a more uniform set of spatial structures which are in line with the original culture. Today, seaside resorts are characterized by a rapid increase in development with a clear trend towards non-physiognomic architectural forms which continually expand and encroach on land closer to the coastline. This results in a blurring of the original concepts that characterized the founding seaside resort. This study evaluates 11 development projects (including a range of hotels, luxury residential buildings and hotel suites) built in 2009–2020 in the coastal area of Western Pomerania. An assessment of architecture-and-landscape integration for each development project was made, using four groups of evaluation criteria: aesthetic, socio-cultural, functional and locational factors. The study methodology included a historical and interpretative study (iconology, iconography, historiography) and an examination of architecture-and-landscape integration using a pre-prepared evaluation form. Each criterion was first assessed using both field surveys and desk research (including the analysis of construction plans and developer materials), and then compared with the original, traditional qualities of the town. This study demonstrates that it is possible to clearly identify the potential negative impact of tourism development on the cultural landscape of seaside resorts, and provides recommendations for future shaping, management and conservation of the landscape.

This paper is mainly about the status quo and long-lasting problems of off-campus education in China. There is no doubt that education should be student-oriented. However, most of Chinese after-school training institutions are carrying out the exam-oriented courses crazily, which ignores the differences of individuals, the rules of their mental and physical development, not to mention the study interests tend to withered away. Various factors are no strangers to this phenomenon, from the educational system, educational needs of every family to the atmosphere created by the training institutions. As a result, a large quantity of people are accustomed to judging the achievements of adolescents down the road simply by predicting their test scores, linking the needs of education with the good jobs and high incomes rather than self-realization. The Education Evaluation System has gradually simplified in a disapproving way, and young people are equal to nothing but an index on their transcripts. People who find themselves embroiled in this ever-spiraling situation feel progressively anxious about score and time, which corrodes the very foundation of Chinese education.

In China, SMEs are facing financing difficulties, and commercial banks and financial institutions are the main financing channels for SMEs. Thus, a reasonable and efficient credit risk assessment system is important for credit markets. Based on traditional statistical methods and AI technology, a soft voting fusion model, which incorporates logistic regression, support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RF), eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), and Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LightGBM), is constructed to improve the predictive accuracy of SMEs’ credit risk. To verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model, we use data from 123 SMEs nationwide that worked with a Chinese bank from 2016 to 2020, including financial information and default records. The results show that the accuracy of the soft voting fusion model is higher than that of a single machine learning (ML) algorithm, which provides a theoretical basis for the government to control credit risk in the future and offers important references for banks to make credit decisions.
