Ayurveda the science of health always aimed to maintain health status of society. The good conduction of daily regimen not only maintains healthy lifestyle but also help to avoid medication for the treatment of diseases. To make the body healthy and strong, there are three sub pillars mentioned in Ayurveda. Ahara (food) is the basic need for an individual and an important tool in Ayurveda. Ahara acts as Aushadha (medicine). Shimbhi Dhanya Varga (Pulses) in daily diet plays an important role in maintaining muscle and bone strength. Health promotion can be done by pearl knowledge of Ayurveda, the science for the achievement of long, happy and healthy life. One among them is the varieties of pulses such as Mudga (green gram), Masha (Black gram), Adhaki (Red gram) and Makushtha (lentil), Rajashimbi (Soyabean), Satina (peas), etc. These three things help in balancing your Dosha. Diet means your food, and it is one of the most important things for our survival. The 12 groups men- tioned by Charaka Samhita. Shimbhi Varga (pulses) is one of them. They are also called Vaidala (dicotyledons). Bhavamishra has also explained 23 vargas one of which is Dhanya varga. Dhanya varga is divided into five sub types which are as follows: 1. Shali Dhanya, 2. Vrihi Dhanya, 3. Shuka Dhanya, 4. Shimbi Dhanya, 5. Shudra Dhanya. Shimbhidhanya Varga (pulses) is rich in protein, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. The pulses are main source of protein except non vegetarians. Also, for the promotion of health seasonal regimen is given prime importance in our Ayurvedic texts. Ahara when used in an appropriate way can be used as a medicine in various diseases. The main objective of this article is to understand the use of Shimbhidhanya Varga in different Ritus andvarious diseases. Human health, in addition to social and spiritual well-being, is determined by its physical condition, which reflects the functional capabilities of the body, features of physical development and ensures working capacity in any activity, including academic workload, which is extremely important for students in higher educational institutions. The purpose of the study is to assess the health status of students at the School of Biomedicine of the Far Eastern Federal University. Material and methods. The health status of 184 medical students (147 young women and 37 young men) was assessed using a sociological survey (questionnaire) and a study of the component composition of the body using bioimpedancemetry. Results. The low physical activity, detected in 68% of students and bad habits (smoking tobacco) have been established to negatively affect students’ health. Among smokers, 75% of students live in dormitories on the university campus. According to the results of bioimpedancemetry, significant deviations from the age norm were noted in terms of body mass index (BMI) (50% of cases) and fat mass (FM) (71% of cases). Significant gender differences in the individual components of the body were not identified. Discussion. The most aggressive factors that significantly affect the health of students are unbalanced nutrition, lack of compliance with the regime of study and rest, lack of sleep and stay in the fresh air, lack of physical activity, lack of motivation for a healthy lifestyle. Significant deviations in BMI and FM, identified by bioimpedancemetry, indicate the risks of developing arterial hypertension, metabolic syndrome, and nutritional status disorders. Medical students need to give recommendations for increasing motor activity and changing diet. Conclusion. The results of the study can be used in the future to determine the functional state of students and develop preventive measures to preserve the health of medical students.

This study aims to determine the effect of the work status on the healthy lifestyle among staffs of Kufa university, An correlation descriptive design is carried out through the present study in order to achieve the early stated objectives. The period of study is from 1 Feb. 2016 to 20 April 2016, A non-probability (convenience sample) of (100) employee in university of Kufa. Result: the result of study shows the majority result for age 30-39 years with (41%), regarding the gender (67%) for female, level of education more than half sample study university level with (51%), and for work status the majority result for part-time with (64%), the body mass index table that most of the study sample were to have over weight (52%), The results of the stress table show for the first item of the majority was no (66%), item two was majority Yes (63%), item three the majority result for no (85%), item fourth majority result for no (88%), item five the majority for no(95%),item six the majority result no (80%),item seven no(65%),item eight the majority for no (58%), item nine the majority for no (52%).The study concluded that the work status affects the employee life style and this effect present through the studied life style domains and the study findings reveal that there is a deficit in the employee compliance with life style measures. And it’s recommended further studies should be conducted to involve a large sample in a national level to make the results more generalizable. And a mass media should be used to increase the employee knowledge about the importance of improving the life style and quality of life through health promotion, health protection, and disease prevention strategies.               Keywords: Life style; staff; work status.

<p>The flax seeds are very important in regular diet for humans especially for females. They increase nutrient absorption, help in weight loss, gluten free, rich in antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids. Owing to these health benefits, dietitians and doctors advise to take flax seeds every day. However, most people especially youngsters may not show interest to take raw flax seeds. Chutney powder made with flax seeds is a best alternative way of consumption highly palatable and nutritious to incorporate in regular diet. Chutney powder of different formulations is made with flax seed, peanuts or black gram, red chilies and spices. Sensory analysis was conducted among the trained and untrained panelists on various sensory attributes and proximate analysis was carried out to assess the nutritional value of bestaccepted chutney powder. From the sensory analysis, it could be concluded that most of the consumers liked the flax seed-groundnut chutney powder made with 20% groundnut and 15% black gram. The chutney powder has good considerable amounts of protein content from 19 to 21%. The study mainly intended to make a healthy palatable product with flax seed, which can be consumed by all groups of people and easy to consume than raw flax seed. The value added flax seed product can be incorporated in daily diet. The product is thus important for changing lifestyle and for consumers heading towards a healthy lifestyle.</p>

Introduction. Excessive stress on the functional reserves of the body of military personnel can lead to persistent health disorders, disability and dismissal from the Armed Forces of Russia. Aim. Compare the dismissal for health reasons in the military personnel of the Navy of Russia and the Russian Armed Forces in 2003–2018. by categories of military personnel. Material and methods. We conducted a statistical analysis of medical reports on the health status of personnel and medical service activity according to Form 3/MED in military units with a sample comprising about 60% of the total number of military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces and the Navy served from 2003 to 2018. The results and their discussion. Dismissal for health reasons in officers of the Russian Navy over 2003 to 2018 was 15,90±1,36, officers of other branches of the Russian Armed Forces — 7,98±1,10‰ (p<0,001); contract servicemen — 6,82±0,57 and 3,92±0,32, respectively (p<0,001); conscripts — 33,38±1,79 and 17,57±1,19, respectively (p<0,001); women soldiers — 23,01±3,34 and 9,14±1,37‰ (p<0,01). There were no significant differences in the nomenclature of disease blocks that caused dismissals in the categories of military personnel of the Russian Navy and the Russian Armed Forces. Higher dismissal levels within disease blocks indicated higher intensity of professional work and increased demands to the health status of the Navy servicemen compared to those from other branches of the Armed Forces. As a rule, dismissals of military personnel of the Russian Navy and the Russian Armed Forces were due to diseases of the circulatory system (ICD-10 Chapter IX), diseases of the digestive system (Chapter XI) and neoplasms (Chapter II). At the same time, some features of the structure of dismissals for health reasons were identified in the military personnel by categories. Conclusion. Accounting for and prevention of leading diseases that caused dismissals due to health reasons will contribute to improving the health of military personnel. It is necessary to focus the attention of the Russian Navy on a healthy lifestyle and increased physical activity.

The body is the outcome of food. Even so, the disease is the outcome of food. The distinction between ease and disease arises on account of wholesome nutrition or the lack of it respectively. Food is the factor that sustains and supports the Deha Dhatus, Ojas, Bala and Varna. Ayurved is mainly based on preventive aspects first than cura- tive. Food is considered as the first pillar among the Nidra(Sleep) and Brahmacharya being the other two. Food is important as a nutritional source, also with therapeutic value. It also plays a very important role during the post- treatment period in regaining the diminished strength due to the harmful effect of the disease. Ayurveda gives immense importance to Pathya Ahar in the words" without the use of Pathyakar Ahar medicines is of no use and if Pathyakar Ahar is taken there is no need of other medicines." This food depends upon Agni to contribute to the nourishment of the body. The body elements or Sharira Dhatus cannot be nourished and developed when food is not properly digested by Agni. Ayurveda considers Dehagni as a cause of life, complexion, strength, health, lus- tre, Oja, Teja, nourishment and Prana. As per Acharya Charak, Agni is divided into 13 types i.e. one Jatharagni, five Bhutagni and seven Dhatvagni. Jatharagni (Digestive power) is directly related to Dhatvagni or bioenergy in the cells and their metabolic processes, with ultimate tissue metabolism or Dhatu Nirmana Processes. All thenormal functions of Dhatu, Upadhatu and Mala in the body all are directly dependent on the health status of Agni. AbstrakPermasalahan kesehatan yang timbul saat ini merupakan akibat dari perilaku hidup yang tidak sehat. Gaya hidup yang kurang baik mengakibatkan tingginya angka kejadian Penyakit Tidak Menular, Di Desa Rambah Hilir kunjungan penderita hipertensi dan diabetes di Puskesmas Rambah Hilir I di tahun 2018 ini sampai bulan Juni 66 kasus Hipertensi 27 Kasus Diabetes. Gerakan Masyarakat Hidup Sehat (GERMAS) merupakan progam Pemerintah untuk mengajak masyarakat hidup sehat dengan focus pada 3 kegiatan utama yaitu melakukan aktifitas fisik, makan buah sayur dan cek kesehatan secara rutin minimal enam bulan sekali.Dalam Program Kemitraan Masyarakat ini upaya yang dilakukan adalah meningkatkan gaya hidup sehat yakni meningkatnya aktifitas fisik yang dilakukan dengan melaksanakan kegiatan rutin senam bersama setiap hari minggu dan meningkatkan konsumsi buah dan sayur dengan memanfaatkan lahan perkarangan rumah warga dengan menanam buah dan sayur dihalaman rumah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan konsumsi buah dan sayur. Upaya Peningkatan peran masyarakat dalam memeriksakan kesehatannya dengan mendirikan posko kesehatan untuk memudahkan masyarakat dalam memeriksa kesehatannya. Luaran yang telah dicapai adalah Adanya kegiatan senam rutin, meningkatnya konsumsi buah dan sayur dengan Adanya tanaman buah dan sayur disetiap rumah warga, makan buah dan sayur bersama setiap hari minggu, Adanya pemeriksaan kesehatan secara berkala.Abstract.Health problems that currently emergeare resulted from unhealthy living behaviours. A bad lifestyle causes an increase innon-communicable diseases cases. According to patient visit data until June 2018 at the community health centre (Puskesmas) Rambah Hilir I, Rambah Hilir Village, Rokan Hulu, Riau, it shows that there were 66 cases of hypertension and 27 cases of diabetes.The Healthy Life Society Movement (GERMAS) is a government program to encourage people to live a healthy lifestyle focusing on 3 main activities namely physical activities, eating vegetables, together with regular health check-upsat least once every 6 months. This community partnership program attempts to enhance the healthy lifestyle by intensifying physical activitiesthrough a routine collective exercise on every Sunday and increasing fruits and vegetables consumption. The community members’ yards are used as land to grow fruits and vegetables for meeting the community’s needs. Regarding the effort to improve the role of the community members to check their health, it was carried out by establishing a health post to facilitate them in checking-up their health. Outputs that have been achieved are the routine exercise; an increase in fruits and vegetables consumptionasthere are fruit and vegetable plants in every resident's houses; eating fruits and vegetables collectively on every Sunday; as well as regular health check-ups.

The current world situation is both frightening and alarming due to the massive disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The next few days are censorious as we need to be very precautious in our daily regimen as well as dietary habits. Ayurveda offers knowledge about food based on certain reasoning. Indecent food custom is the chief cause for the rising development of health disorders in the current era. In classical texts of Ayurveda, the concept of diet explained well, ranging from their natural sources, properties and specific utility in pathological as well as physiological manner. In this work, the review of the relevant literature of Ahara (Diet) was carried out from Charak Samhita and other texts, newspapers, articles, web page related to the same.  Every human being is unique with respect to his Prakriti (Physical and mental temperament), Agni (Digestive capacity), Koshtha  (Nature of bowel) etc. For that reason, the specificity of the individual should be kept in mind. Ahara, when consumed in the appropriate amount at the right moment following all Niyamas (Guidelines) given in Ayurveda texts, gives immunity and keeps the body in a healthy state during pandemics such as Covid-19. Ultimately, this will help the human body to maintain its strength for life. This article reviews the concept of diet viz. combination of foods, their quantity and quality, methods of preparation and processing, which are to be followed during pandemics and are essential in maintenance and endorsement of health and preclusion of diseases.

The “Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19)” is caused by “Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)”, a newly discovered member of the Coronaviridae family of viruses which is a highly communicable. There is no effective medical treatment till date for Coronavirus disease hence prevention is the best way to keep disease away. Rasayana proved to be highly efficacious and cost effective for the Prevention and Control of viral infections when vaccines and standard therapies are lacking. Rasayana Chikitsa is one of the eight branches of Ashtanga Ayurveda which helps to maintain healthy life style. Rasayana improves immunity and performs many vital functions of human body. Vyadhikshamatva that is immune mechanism of the body is involved in Prevention of the occurrence of a new disease and it also decreases the virulence and progression of an existing disease. In COVID-19 the Respiratory system mainly get affected which is evident from its symptoms like cold, cough and breathlessness. Here the drugs help in enhancing immune system and strengthening functions of Respiratory system can be useful. For this purpose, the Rasayana like Chyavanprasha, Agastya Haritaki, Pippali Rasayana, Guduchi, Yashtimadhu, Haridra, Ashwagandha, Tulsi are used. Rasayana working on Respiratory system are best for Prevention of Coronavirus and boosting immune system. Rasayana Chikitsa can be effective in the Prevention as well as reducing symptoms of COVID-19.

Food is one of the most important social indicators of a society. History of food carries a dynamic character in the socio- economic, political, and cultural realm of a society. The food is one of the obligatory components in our daily life. It occupied an obvious atmosphere for the augmentation of healthy life and anticipation against the diseases.  The food also shows a significant character in establishing cultural distinctiveness, and it reflects who we are. Food also reflected as the symbol of individuality, generosity, social status and religious believes etc in a civilized society. Food is not a discriminating aspect. It is the part of a culture, habits, addiction, and identity of a civilization.Food plays a symbolic role in the social activities the world over. It’s a universal sign of hospitality.[1]
