The “FU Chuan Charity Foundation” uses the statutory curriculum of the Department of Social Sciences to implement education on volunteer love and self-management for volunteer students. The statutory courses of the Department of Social Sciences belong to the “Interdisciplinary Curriculum Integration Model”, the “FU Chuan Charity Foundation” opened the “FU Chuan Charity Bachelor Class”, which has been operated by volunteers for 8 years, invisibly in the original “education and learning philosophy”. The outlines of 7 groups of education and learning models gradually emerged, so they were named “Education and Learning Models for the Bachelor of Evangelical Compassion”: including (1) the integration model of old and new students, (2) the cross-age and multi-group co-learning model, (3) Sharing mode in different places and different industries, (4) Social welfare resource co-study mode, (5) Potential mode of voluntary service, (6) Intervention response effect mode, (7) No-handling property mode. The operation of this model has changed from “Originally run a school for the Foundation” to “Run a school for the Friends Association”, and at least assist students in 5 changes: (1) Attitude to study, from “wait and see trial” to “specialized reading” “, then change to “Determined to Grad.” (2) The learning factor changes from “convenient time” to “professional needs”, then to “equal attention to time and professionalism”, and then to “desire to graduate”. (3) The average number of courses taken has changed from “inconsistent courses” to “concentrated courses” and then to “intensive courses”. (4) Student volunteer habits have changed from “adjustment to ups and downs” to “balanced and stable”. (5) The willingness of students to volunteer has changed from “rare concepts” to “stable learning” and then to “dare to face the test of the epidemic” [1].

Through a critical review of the literature on education for diabetes self-care and self-management, it was sought to point out the inappropriateness of traditional approaches towards compliance with treatment and transmission of information, considering the complexity of self-care under chronic conditions. The influence of the social sciences on the field of studies on chronic degenerative diseases in general, and diabetes in particular, was explored. From this perspective, it can be recognized that the fields of anthropology and sociology have been incorporated into research focusing more on individuals as patients, and on the experience gained through this process. Recently, there has been a slight change within the field of health education research relating to diabetes, with the introduction of strategies that seek to value the experience and autonomy of patients as self-care agents. This paper discusses the strategy for empowerment in education for diabetes self-care and self-management, as a dialogue-focused practice that respects patients' moral and cognitive autonomy.

The presence in the world of the pandemic known as Covid-19 has brought with it challenges and challenges in all areas, but especially in the educational context. The University of Granma responds to the intention of promoting the use of technologies in the improvement of Higher Education and in current times has had to enhance this aspect due to the need for social distancing. This work presents some of the alternatives that have been adopted in the House of Higher Studies and how young people have assimilated them, based on the experiences obtained in the teaching of the Communication course, which belongs to the Sociocultural Management for Development career from the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences. The epidemiological situation has not prevented the training of comprehensive and competent professionals, on the contrary, it has enabled students to achieve self-management of knowledge and meaningful learning, using virtual teaching- learning environments.

The last thirty years in anthropology, as well as in linguistics and in many of the other social sciences, have been characterized by a shift in theoretical focus from structure to practice. In The Language of Law School: Learning to “Think Like a Lawyer” (2007), linguistic anthropologist and law professor Elizabeth Mertz has brought this practice perspective to bear on the extraordinary linguistic and cultural venue that is the first‐year law school classroom. In revealing the linguistic realities of teaching new students to “think like a lawyer,” she raises fascinating questions about the relationship between language and thought, the subtle effects of legal education, and the nature of law itself.

Modernization also causes a shift in interaction patterns and changes in values in society. There are still many people who do not have ethics in the campus environment, such as speaking impolitely with peers or with elders. This research was conducted to find out how to ethically speak student language to lecturers in the Sociology Department. This Research uses qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. This data collection technique is done by means of interviews. The informants of this study were lecturers of the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences based on the criteria. The criteria used are different ages, namely senior lecturers and junior lecturers. In addition, informants were also obtained from active sociology students and came from different generations. The result of this study is that one of the factors that influence the language ethics of students is the difference of age between students and lecturers that not too far, so that students think of lecturers as their own friends, which makes them free to speak according to their wishes without thinking about who the interlocutor is and the solution for handling bad ethics is by holding activities that explain the importance of good ethics at campus since new students are in the campus environment.

Background Mobile health (mHealth) apps hold great potential for asthma self-management. Data on the suitability of asthma apps intended for children are insufficient, and the availability of German language apps is still inadequate compared with English language apps. Objective This study aims to identify functional asthma apps for children in German and to compare them with English language apps. In line with the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, the Google Play Store and Apple App Store are systematically searched to preselect the most efficient apps, which are then compared according to a self-compiled criteria catalog. Methods Both app stores were screened for the term asthma. Following a PRISMA preselection process, the apps that met the inclusion criteria (ie, available free of charge, German or English language, and suitable for children) were rated by 3 independent persons following a criteria catalog consisting of 9 categories, some conceived for this purpose (availability, child-friendly, learning factor, and range of functions) and some adopted from existing validated catalogs (functionality and design, ease of use, potential for improving asthma self-management, fun factor and incentives, and information management and medical accuracy). The highest rated apps in German and English were compared. Results A total of 403 apps were identified on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Finally, 24 apps that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. In the first step of the quality assessment, only 4 available German language asthma apps were compared with 20 English language asthma apps. The 4 German language apps were then compared with the 4 highest rated English language apps. All selected apps, independent of the language, were comparable in the following categories: availability, functionality and design, ease of use, and information management and medical accuracy. The English language apps scored significantly higher in the following categories: potential for improving self-management, child-friendly, fun factor, learning factor, and range of function. English language apps (mean total points 34.164, SD 1.09) performed significantly better than German language asthma apps (mean total points 22.91, SD 2.898; P=.003). The best rated English language app was Kiss my asthma (36/42 points), whereas the best rated German language app Kata achieved only 27.33 points. Conclusions The recommended English language apps are Kiss my asthma, AsthmaXcel, AsthmaAustralia, and Ask Me, AsthMe!, whereas the only recommended German language app is Kata. The use of apps plays an increasingly important role in patients’ lives and in the medical field, making mHealth a staple in the future of asthma treatment plans. Although validated recommendations on rating mHealth apps have been published, it remains a challenging task for physicians and patients to choose a suitable app for each case, especially in non–English-speaking countries.

Migration studies have long been characterized as an illegitimate field of research in the French social sciences. This results from the strong influence of the so-called ‘republican’ ideology on social sciences, the constant politicization of the subject in the public arena, the maintenance of a number of taboos revolving around the colonial experience, and a history of the concepts (race, ethnicity, minority) that makes their potential use in scientific analysis controversial. This difficulty of reflecting upon the ethnic fact or racial relations contributed to the implementation of a normative framework, which until recently gave priority to the analysis of integration, leaving the content of ‘racial and ethnic studies' little explored in France. This article offers a historical perspective on the way knowledge has been produced in this field. It highlights the ‘doxa’ of the French integration model in social sciences, elaborating on the controversy over the production and use of ethnic categories in statistics, the various taboos revolving around the role of ethnicity in politics, the discussions launched by the emergence of a post-colonial question and the transition from an analysis of racism to the understanding of a system of discriminations.

The development of science and technology and their application in society, led to the overcoming of traditional models of learning and the introduction of new, innovative teaching models. Contemporary teaching of physical education is based on interdisciplinarity, which is a good basis for even greater application of new learning models, especially the project based learning. The project based learning puts students at the center, so that, through the realization of the project, they develop their own competencies. The aim of the paper is to present the results of the research in the teaching of physical education, in which project teaching is applied, as well as the interdisciplinary physical education. The work is based on a review of the relevant literature, i.e. analysis of the results of the research of the same. For the search of foreign works, the base of the academic journals JURN, ЕRIC, EBSCO, Taylor & Francis, Research Gate, which includes research in the field of social sciences was used. The advantages of applying the project model, the recommendations for applying it in teaching of physical education, and the increase in the number of research on the subject are highlighted.

Machine learning models have become pervasive in our everyday life; they decide on important matters influencing our education, employment and judicial system. Many of these predictive systems are commercial products protected by trade secrets, hence their decision-making is opaque. Therefore, in our research we address interpretability and explainability of predictions made by machine learning models. Our work draws heavily on human explanation research in social sciences: contrastive and exemplar explanations provided through a dialogue. This user-centric design, focusing on a lay audience rather than domain experts, applied to machine learning allows explainees to drive the explanation to suit their needs instead of being served a precooked template.
