Background: Reports show that mental wellbeing may be negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The ragas of Indian classical music are believed to have therapeutic effects. This study was done to investigate the impact of an Indian raga on mental wellbeing during the COVID-19  pandemic. Materials and Methods: It was a one-group before-after design study. A total of 45 adult subjects of Kolkata, recruited online, using convenience sampling during the lockdown, underwent a pre-test via Google forms using Warwick-Edinburg Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMWBS) to evaluate mental wellbeing before the administration of music intervention. After two weeks of music intervention, that consisted of passively listening to raga Hamsadhwani, a post-test using the same scale and the same medium was done. Results: The results showed that the post-test mean of the total score 51.1 (SD = 3.9) of WEMWBS was significantly (p< 0.001) higher than the pre-test mean of the total score 30.9 (SD = 4.6). The same trend was reflected by the mean difference pertaining to all of the components of WEMWBS. Conclusion: It was concluded that raga Hamsadhwani may be effective in improving mental wellbeing in a pandemic situation. There is a need to do more work by improvising the research design employed in the present study. This will help to interpret more accurately and more meaningfully the effects of Indian raga music on mental wellbeing.

1.ABSTRACTSeveral scientific studies using Western classical music and some using Indian classical music have reported benefits of listening to musical pieces of specific ‘genre’ or ’Raga’, in terms of stress reduction and mental well-being. Within the realm of a Raga, presentation of musical pieces varies in terms of low-level musical components (like tempo, octave, timbre, etc.), and yet there is hardly any research on their effect. A commonly preferred musical pattern in Carnatic classical music is to have incremental modulations in tempo and octave (‘Ragam-Tanam-Pallavi’), and we wanted to examine whether this could have better anxiolytic effect than music without such modulations.Accordingly, in the current study, we exposed 21 male undergraduate medical students to a custom recorded South Indian classical music clip for 1 week (8 minutes clip; Raaga ‘Kaapi’; only two instruments – ‘Violin’ and ‘Mridangam’; listened thrice daily for 6 days). One set of the participants (Varying Music; n=11) listened to a version that had the incremental variations, whereas the other set (Stable Music; n=10) listened to a version without such variations. On all 6 days, one of the music listening sessions was conducted in the lab while collecting electroencephalography (EEG; 32 channels) and electrocardiography (ECG; 1 channel) data. Psychological assessment for anxiety (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory - STAI and Beck Anxiety Inventory - BAI) was conducted before (day 1) and after (day 6) the intervention. Physiological parameters studied included power spectrum across the scalp in delta, alpha, beta, theta and gamma bands from EEG and heart rate variability (HRV) from ECG, during the baseline recordings of day 1 and day 6 of intervention.Our results show that participants when exposed to varying music showed significant reduction in anxiety, in contrast to stable music or silence intervention. A global examination of power spectral changes showed a stark contrast between stable and varying music intervention in comparison to silence - former showing greater increase in higher frequencies whereas latter showing prominent decrease especially in lower frequencies, both in bilateral temporo-parieto-occipital regions. A more detailed spectral analysis in frontal region revealed that both music intervention showed greater left-dominant alpha/beta asymmetry (i.e., greater right brain activation) and decrease in overall midline power (i.e., lower default mode network or DMN activity), when compared to silence intervention. Interestingly, stable music resulted in more left asymmetry, whereas, varying music showed more midline power reduction. Both music intervention also didn’t show the reduction in HRV parameters that was associated with silence intervention.We speculate that, the enhancement in ‘mind calming effect’ of Kaapi raaga when presented with incremental variations, could be brought about by a balanced switching between a heightened mind wandering state with ‘attention to self’ during the lower-slower portions and a reduced mind wandering state with ‘attention to music’ during the higher-faster portions of the music. Such a ‘dynamic mind wandering’ exercise would allow training one’s creative thinking as well as sustained attention, during the respective high and low mind wandering states - both helping prevent ruminating thoughts. Therefore, musical properties such as tempo and octave have non-trivial influence on the various neurological and psychological mechanisms underlying stress management. Considering the impact of this finding in selection of music clips for music therapy, further studies with larger sample size is warranted.

Pemberian Air Susu Ibu (ASI) masih merupakan masalah bagi pemenuhan kebutuhan nutrisi bayi baru lahir. Dukungan agar ibu menyusui bayi merupakan hal penting dalam menginisiasi dan mempertahankan pemberian ASI. Strategi dibutuhkan untuk mendukung keberhasilan menyusui. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis efektivitas comprehensive breastfeeding education terhadap keberhasilan pemberian (ASI) pada periode postpartum. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimen one group pre post test repeated measured design. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 22 ibu dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan pada bulan September–Oktober 2013 di Puskesmas wilayah Kota Tangerang Selatan. Intervensi dilakukan selama 30 menit. Pengumpulan data dilakukan sebelum intervensi, 3 hari setelah intervensi (post1), dan 10 hari setelah intervensi (post 2). Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan observasi. Keberhasilan pemberian ASI berdasar pada parameter pengetahuan, langkah menyusui, perlekatan bayi, dan kecukupan ASI. Analisis data menggunakan general linear model repeated measureANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya signifikansi comprehensive breastfeeding education (p=0.001). Rata-rata keberhasilan pemberian ASI sebelum dan setelah intervensi meningkat. Sebesar 93,9% intervensi memengaruhi tingkat keberhasilan. Rata-rata sebelum intervensi 56,74 (SD 5,92), post 1 sebesar 60,83 (SD 6,38) dan post2 sebesar 74,55 (SD 5,32). Subvariabel yang memiliki efek secara signifikan setelah intervensi adalah pengetahuan (p=0.001) dan langkah menyusui (p=0.001), sedangkan subvariabel perlekatan bayi (p=0.061) dan kecukupan ASI (p=0.162) tidak secara signifikan berbeda antara sebelum dan setelah intervensi. Pelaksanaanbreastfeeding education disarankan pada ibu agar dapat melakukan posisi perlekatan bayi yang benar sehingga dapat mengurangi masalah-masalah berkaitan dengan perlekatan yang tidak sesuai seperti puting perih, lecet atau berdarah, dan bayi kurang puas dalam menyusu yang bisa mengakibatkan gagalnya program ASI ekslusif.Kata kunci:Menyusui, pendidikan, perlekatan, postpartum AbstractBreastfeeding have still been problem for adequate newborn nutrition. Adequate breastfeeding support is essential for mothers to initiate and maintain optimal breastfeeding practices. A strategic needed to support successful breastfeeding. The purpose of research is to analyze the effectiveness comprehensive breastfeeding education on successful breastfeeding at postpartum periods. A quasi-experimental one group pretest, post test, repeated mesaured was used. This study was conducted at public health in Tangerang Selatan municipality in September–October 2013 among 22 postpartum mothers, convenience sampling methods. Intervention was done 30 minute. Data were collected before intervention (pretest), third day after intervention (post 1) and tenth day after intervention (repeated/post 2) using four parameter, that are knowledge, breastfeeding steps, proper lacth-on and adequate breastmilk. Using repeated measures analysis of variance there was a significant increase (p=0.001) in the overall Successful breastfeeding mean. Around 93,9% the effectiveness of intervention influence on successful. The mean before intervention is 56,74 (SD 5,92), increased at post 1:60,83 (SD 6,38) and post 2:74,55 (SD 5,32). Subvariable which has effect significantly after intervention is knowledge (p=0.001) and breastfeeding steps (p=0.001), in contrary, proper latch-on (p=0,061) and adequate breastmilk (p=0.162) have no significant effect after intervention. Suggestion to support breastfeeding education and counselling proper latch-on adequately that can decrease the problem such as painful, creaks or bloody putting.Key words: Breastfeeding, education, latch-on, postpartum

This study aims to determine the effect of clapping and vibration on oxygen saturation in COPD patients. The research design used a one-group pre-post test design. The research respondents' results in 26 COPD show the average oxygen saturation values before the intervention was 90.42 into the category of moderate hypoxemia, after a given intervention for two times a day gained an average weight of 95.00 SaO2 SaO2 into the type of standard p-value 0.000. In conclusion, most of them are male, with the lowest age of 31 years, while the respondents' highest period is 60 years. There is an effect of this value, indicating the impact of clapping and vibration on the oxygen saturation of COPD patients.   Keywords: Clapping, COPD, Oxygen Saturation, Vibration

Background: Blood is a vital and limited resource with a lifesaving therapeutic benefit.  Knowledge of standard transfusion practices to be followed is important in delivering quality transfusion services. The present study aims at assessing the knowledge of transfusion practices among undergraduate medical students, train them, and to assess the impact of this type of training sessions in improving the outcome. Materials and methods:  82 undergraduate MBBS students participated in the study. The students were asked to attempt a pre-test and a post-test questionnaire before and after the training program. The training session comprised of audiovisual lecture and handout material given to the participants. The mean scores, percentage of both the tests, and percentage of improvement in scores from pre to post-test were analyzed. Results: The mean score in the pre-test was 8.3 with a minimum score of 3 and a maximum of 13 out of 15. The post-test mean score was 10.7 with a minimum score of 6 and a maximum score of 14 out of 15, which was significantly high. The training program helped in the overall improvement of the knowledge in various aspects of blood transfusion like indications, cross-matching, shelf life, transfusion practices, and management of adverse reactions. The p-value obtained was 0.003 (<0.05) which was significant. Conclusions: Knowledge of blood transfusion practices among the undergraduates was low. Training sessions helped improve the immediate knowledge and overall orientation toward the practices. Hence, blood transfusion syllabus should be included in the undergraduates' competency curriculum.

Speaking is the art of conveying ideas and feelings by generating and sharing meaning through oral contact. Pow-Tega is a speaking skill teaching technique that combines a power teaching technique with a game to allow students to practice their speaking skills. Students' focus and excitement in speaking are developed using the power teaching technique. Students were inspired to study while playing the game because the classroom environment was more colorful. Researchers used a quantitative method by assigning pre-experimental studies with one group pre-test and post-test to determine the impact of the Pow-Tega technique on students' speaking performance. This study included 33 students as participants. The researchers used a spoken test and video recording to gather data. Before beginning treatment, researchers gave all of the samples a pre-test, then began treatment by using the Pow-Tega Technique for six meetings, and eventually, researchers gave all of the samples a post-test. The results revealed that the mean post-test score (3,93) was higher than the pre-test score (3,39). Furthermore, at the significant stage of 0,05 and degree of freedom -19, the ttest (6,75) was higher than the ttable (2.093). H0  has been  refused, while H1 has been accepted. That means there was a significant effect of students’ speaking ability after they were taught by using Pow-Tega.

This study is revealed based on the observation on the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Cimahi.  The subjects of this study consisted of 34 students. The purpose of this study was to improve the students’ reading comprehension using Cooperative Integrated and Reading Composition Method. The research design was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which following Arikunto model. It is used to obtain the results of qualitative data using two cycles described through planning, implementing, observation, and reflection on each cycle. The result of the study showed that there was a development on the students’ reading comprehension. It could be seen from the result of the test. The Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of English lesson was 70 (seventy).  The students mean score in the first test was 50,  in the first post test the mean score was 65, and in the second post test the mean score was 85. In addition there were 3 students (8.8%) who passed KKM on pre test. In the first pretest there were 9 students (29.41%) who passed KKM. In the second pretest there were 31 students (91.18%) who passed KKM. Then, from the result of observation and interview it showed the positive responses from the students. The students can be more active and improve their ideas. The researchers conclude that Cooperative Integrated and Reading Composition method could improve students’ reading comprehension. Keywords:  Reading Comprehension, Cooperative Integrated and Reading Composition, Narrative Text, CAR

This study aimed to investigate the impact of virtual laboratories (VLabs) on academic achievement and Learning Motivation in the Students of Sudanese Secondary School in the subject of chemistry. The study followed a quasi-experimental method. The population consisted of second-grade students of Almutamaar school boys in Omdurman, the study sample was selected randomly totaling 54 students were divided randomly into two groups: 27 for experimental group and 27 for control group. The study used achievement pre & post tests, and Learning Motivation scale as tools for data collection. The result showed that  there  were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of students of the experimental group (a group is taught by VLabs) and control group (a group is taught by conventional method) in the post test in favor of the experimental group, and there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of pre and post test for the students of the experimental group in favor of the post test, and there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) in the Learning Motivation scale between the experimental group( taught by VLabs) and control group (taught by conventional method)  for the favor of the experimental group too.

The study investigates the effects of the pandemic brought about by Covid-19 on Ilocos businesses and establishments. The study participants were the owners of micro, small and medium businesses in Ilocos Norte, and they were selected using a convenience sampling technique. The study employed a quantitative research design, and the entrepreneurs were asked about the perceived impact of Covid-19. Using descriptive statistics, the findings divulged that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the businesses ranged from retrenchment of employees, disruption in the supply chain, and temporary to permanent shutdown. The impact of the pandemic includes uncertainties, the decline in productivity, demand, and sales. Implications, conclusions, and recommendations were also provided in the study.

This study aims 1) to determine the validity and reliability of the robot transporter learning media instrument, 2) to know the differences in the student learning outcomes between the use of robot transporter and PowerPoint as learning media, and 3) to know how much the learning gain score from the use of these two media. A pre-test-post-test comparison group design type was used. A sample of 60 vocational students participated in two groups, the experimental group (N = 30) and the control group (N = 30).  The results show that the robot transporter learning media is categorized as valid and reliable. The t-test result is 12.589 greater than the t table, namely 2.3596 with a significance of 0.05. Therefore, there is a difference in student learning outcomes. The mean of learning gain score on the robot transporter is 0.694, higher than the mean of learning gain score on the PowerPoint which is 0.289. The use of robot transporter as learning media can help students to be more interactively involved in learning. This is indicated by the students' post-test scores and the value of the gain learning in the experimental class was higher than the control class.

Football is a sport that is played outside the room of 11 players with the aim of getting the ball into the opponent's goal. The results of observations in the field that there are still many players in passing while competing so that it is not in accordance with the target. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an effect of wallpass training and exercise with groups of 4 to increase the passing results of Bali United Mataram. The purpose of this research is to find out. The research design was a twogroup pretest-postest design. Population and sample are all players totaling 22 people. Instrument Passing for 30 seconds. The research data were analyzed using SPSS version 22. The results of the t-test for group 1 obtained significant values (2-tailed) <0.05: 0.003 <0.05 and group 2 significant values (2-tailed) <0.05: 0.038 <0,05. So these results indicate a significant difference. Based on the test for the difference in the mean post-test data for groups 1 and 2, it was obtained a significant value (2-tailed) <0.05: 0.026 <0.05 with an increase in the percentage value in group 1 of 12.93% and group 2 of 3, 96%. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the effect of wallpass training and exercise with groups of 4 is an increase in the passing results of Bali United Mataram in 2021.Keywords: Passing, Wallpass, with groups of 4
