The first aim of this study was to explore the application of digital storytelling in teaching speaking at the students of state senior high school No 1 Pelepat Kabupaten Bungo. Second, it aims to explore the benefits of digital storytelling in contributing to speaking class. Third, it aims to explore the participants’ perception. This study used qualitative method. The data collection technique used was observation, interview, and audiovisual material. The participants were an English teacher and six of twenty-four students of eleventh grade. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data was analyzed qualitatively by using triangulation. The first finding was digital storytelling use in teaching speaking as in the following procedures: writing the story, recording the story, collecting related pictures, combining (recording and relevant images), and the last step was presenting and evaluating. The second findings was the application of digital storytelling had some benefits such as it contributed to practice and improve students’ speaking skill, the students be familiar with  the pronunciations, self-confidence,  and  evaluated  or  assessed  students’  improvement  in  speaking  skill. The last finding of this study showed that the digital storytelling use in teaching speaking provided participants to have positive and negative perception; for example, high motivation in learning, easy, interesting, and enjoyable media, while for negative perceptions were difficulties in editing, limited time, and lack of related images.

This study aims to see the implementation of interpersonal dialogue in learning English to enhance students' ability in using the English language. This study used a qualitative method. The data collection technique uses observation techniques to see the process of the implementation of learning to use interpersonal dialogue, and interview techniques to determine the impact of implementing interpersonal dialogue. Respondents in this study were lecturer and students. The results showed that during the learning process, the interpersonal dialogue was created between students and students and lecturer. Then, there is an increase in learning activities, student participation, students get additional knowledge in the form of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and self-confidence. In conclusion, the implementation of interpersonal dialogue can build communicative learning, because of the interactive communication between students and lecturers, as well as students and students during the learning process. As well as increasing student ability and student confidence in using English.

Abstract    This study aims to examine the effectiveness of NLP (Neuro Languistic Programming) training in increasing adolescent self-confidence. This study uses an experimental approach with a quasi-experimental research design. The research subjects were taken by purposive sampling technique with the condition of low self-confidence. The data collection technique used is the confidence scale. Data analysis techniques used in this study used the analysis of independent sample test using Mann-Whitney. The results of the study based on the Independent Sample Test analysis obtained t value of 6.439 with a significance of 0.000 (p <0.05). This shows that the respondents' confidence varies significantly. So it is known that the mean of the experimental group is higher than the control group (36.04> 12.96). This shows that NLP (Neuro Languistic Programming) training is effective significantly to increase the confidence of adolescents who experience self-confidence barriers.                 Keywords: NLP training, self-confidence, education level

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant effect between the exogenous variables of anxiety, confidence, and motivation with the endogenous variables of the performance of referees on duty in North Sumatra Province. The population in this study is the National Referee of North Sumatra Province. The sampling technique used was the purposive sampling method in which the national referees selected were adjusted to the criteria determined by the researchers as many as 50 national referees from various levels. The research method used is the descriptive quantitative method. The results of the data analysis carried out showed that 1) There was a significant influence between anxiety on the referee's performance of 0.854 or 73.7%, 2) There was a significant influence between self-confidence on the referee's performance of 0.842 or 70.9%, 3) There was a significant effect of a significant difference between motivation on the performance of the referee is 0.744 or 55.3%, 4) There is a significant effect between anxiety on the motivation of 0.841 or 70.8%, 5) There is a significant influence between self-confidence and motivation of 0.851 or 72.5 %, 6) There is a significant effect between anxiety through motivation on referee performance by 0.744 or 55.3%, 7) There is a significant effect between self-confidence through motivation on referee performance by 0.879 or 77.3%. The data collection technique in this study used a questionnaire instrument method in the form of statements on a Likert scale that had been validated by experts. So it can be concluded that several internal and external factors can affect the performance of the referee in leading the match such as anxiety, confidence, and motivation. Suggestions for the referee to be able to optimize the psychological condition before leading the game, to maximize the task of leading the match.

ABSTRACTThis research aimed to show the students’ situational WTC in EFL classroom and identify students’ perception on their situational WTC in English in terms of motivation, linguistic self-confidence, attitude, and personality.The researcher applied descriptive research. The subject was the sixth-semester students of English Education Program, Faculty of Languages and Literature, State University of Makassar (UNM). This research applied purposive sampling technique by taking one class as the sample that was class A. Questionnaire and interview were used to collect the data. A questionnaire was administered to 25 selected students while the interview was heldto 5 randomly selected students.The researcher found that the students were “willing” to show their situational willingness to communicate (WTC) in English, had high motivation and positive attitude in learning English, had linguistic self-confidence as well,and most were extroverted students.

This research isintended to find out Effectiveness of Inquiry Based Learning Method to Increase Students Critical Thinking Speaking Skill SMA Parulian 2 Medan. This research is conducted by applying Quantitative Experimental research. The sample of this research is two classes that consist 60 students which were selected by using random sampling technique. The first group is class XI MIA 2 (consist of 30 students) as a experimental class and class XI IPS 1 (consist of 30 students) as a control group. The instrument used for collecting the data is by giving the students speaking test. The test consist of pre-test, and post-test. The data was analyzed by using t-test formula in order to see wheter Inquiry Based Learning Method affects Students� Speaking skill or not. The result of the analysis showed that t-observed is 4,43 higher than t-table 1,671 at level significance 0,05 with the degree of freedom 58. It means that alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Therefore there is significant affect of Inquiry Based Learning Method on Students�s Speaking Skill of Eleventh Grade at SMA Parulian 2 Medan. Therefore Inqury Based Learning Method can be applied by English Teacher in teaching speaking skill.

This research focuses on students' English speaking problems, and this research aims to find out the most dominant problem of speaking in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) situation faced by the students of English Departement at Tidar University. The research method used in this research is the qualitative method. The writer uses a questionnaire as a tool for data collection. From the questionnaire, the problems that most dominant faced by the English education students of the English Department at Tidar University is Linguistic problems. Linguistic problems include less grammar, lack of vocabulary, and poor pronunciation. The next is psychological problems include, including lack of self-confidence, anxiety, and shyness. Meanwhile, instructor related problems did not have much effect on speaking problems for the students. In conclusion, Linguistic problems are the most dominant problem faced by the English education students of the English Department at Tidar University.

This research is aimed at improving speaking skills of the eleventh graders ofSMK Hidayatul Mubtadien Sampang through acting-out student-made playscripts. This research employed Classroom Action Research. It is consists of 2cycles. Each cycle there were five meetings. Every cycle consists of fourphases in planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. This research begunwith the preliminary study to find the problems. There were 8 students or 33.33%of students in the class who achieved KKM. The low scores are supportedfrom interview to the English teacher and some students. The result are the studentswere not motivated, lacked vocabulary, afraid and shy of making mistakes, notenthusiastic, bored, the students seldom to perform in speaking activities, teachercentered,and the students were passive in the teaching and learning process. Theresult of the study showed that the speaking test in cycle 1 were 13 students or54.17% and speaking test in cycle 2 were 20 students or 83.33% students in theclass who achieved KKM and the result of fieldnotes are: interested, enthusiastic,spirit, high motivation, active, brave, confident, and enjoy in speaking activities,and the result of questionnaire that the response of the students were strong andvery strong category. This study aims to reveal an overview of the confidence of training graduates, and to reveal the relationship between self-confidence and entrepreneurial interest in beauty training graduates at the Training and Training Institute (LKP) Martha Siska Padang. The results of the observations show that the low interest in entrepreneurship is thought to be caused by a lack of self-confidence from beauty training graduates. This type of research is a correlational study that uses a quantitative approach. The population in this study were graduates of beauty training for the period 2019. The sampling technique was saturated sampling and the sample was the entire population. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire and the tools used were a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the percentage formula and the Spearman Rho formula. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the confidence of training graduates is low; 2) training graduates have low interest in entrepreneurship;3) There is a significant relationship between self-confidence and entrepreneurial interest in beauty training graduates at LKP Martha Siska, Padang City. Suggestions from this research are that training graduates are expected to be confident in their potential, and institutional managers are expected to generate self-confidence and entrepreneurial interest from beauty training trainees, as well as increase knowledge of trainees about self-confidence and interest in entrepreneurship. in practice it has been done well.Keywords: self-confidence, interest in entrepreneurship

The design of this research was correlational research. This research aimed to find out the correlation between students’ self-confidence and speaking skills at the twelfth grade of SMA N 2 Bukittinggi. The background of this research was there were several problems related to students’ self-confidence, and those problems were contrary to the theory. The population of this research was all of the twelfth-grade students of SMA N 2 Bukittinggi in the academic years of 2020/2021, which consists of 8 classes. The sample was 28 students taken by simple random sampling technique. The research results showed that there is a correlation between students’ self-confidence and their speaking skill. The researcher found that the coefficient of correlation between students’ self-confidence and their speaking skill was 0,286. There was a positive correlation and significance. It means that Ho is accepted. Thus, there is a positive correlation between students’ self-confidence and speaking skills at the twelfth grade of SMA N 2 Bukittinggi.

This study aimed to determine the role of the village government in managing pine forest tourism to increase the Village Original Revenue (PAD) in Bendosari Village, Pujon District, Malang Regency and identify the problems faced by the Bendosari Village Government. The study used a qualitative method with data collection technique using a combination of interviews, observation, and documentation triangulation. While the sampling technique used Puporsive Sampling. From this research, the results showed that the role of Bendosari village government were disseminating and planning the development of pine forest tourism areas, forming POKDARWIS, conducting tourism promotion on social media, and conducting comparative studies in other tourist villages. While the factors that influenced the implementation were the natural conditions that were affected during the rainy season and the human resources, such as the lack of awareness and ability of the community to manage the pine forest tourism. So there is a need for an intensive training and mentoring from the Bendosari village government.
