Abstract Objectives Meditation is an umbrella term for a vast range of contemplative practices. Former proposals have struggled to do justice to this variety. To our knowledge, there is to date no comprehensive overview of meditation techniques spanning all major traditions. The present studies aimed at providing such a comprehensive list of meditation techniques. Methods In a qualitative study, we compiled a collection of 309 meditation techniques through a literature search and interviews with 20 expert meditators. Then, we reduced this collection to 50 basic meditation techniques. In a second, quantitative study, 635 experienced meditators from a wide range of meditative backgrounds indicated how much experience they had with each of these 50 meditation techniques. Results Meditators’ responses indicated that our choice of techniques had been adequate and only two techniques had to be added. Our additional statistical and cluster analyses illustrated preferences for specific techniques across and within diverse traditions as well as sets of techniques commonly practiced together. Body-centered techniques stood out in being of exceptional importance to all meditators. Conclusions In conclusion, we found an amazing variety of meditation techniques, which considerably surpasses previous collections. Our selection of basic meditation techniques might be of value for future scientific investigations and we encourage researchers to use this set.

In a national program to combat cervical uterine cancer (CUC) four basic elements should exist: primary prevention, early detection, diagnosis/treatment and palliative care. Of these, early detection is the most effective modality. One of the purposes of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) is to encourage the use of research results with the assistance provided, reinforcing the importance of research for clinical practice. This study aimed to evaluate the evidence available in the literature regarding effective nursing interventions for the early detection of CUC. The selection of articles was performed in the databases: Scopus, PubMed, CINAHL, Lilacs and Cochrane. The sample of this review consisted of seven articles, with evidence levels 1, 2 or 3. The behavioral, cognitive and social interventions, showed positive effects in the early detection of CUC, especially the interactive cognitive interventions. It is suggested, when appropriate, to use a combination of interventions in order to obtain a more effective result.

Nowadays, marketing specialists simultaneously use several channels to attract visitors to websites. There is a difficulty in assessing not only the efficiency and conversion of each channel separately, but also in their interconnection. The problem occurs when users visit a website from several sources and only after that do the key action. To assess the effectiveness and selection of the most optimal channels, different models of attribution are used. The models are reviewed in the article. However, we propose to use multi-channel attribution, which provides an aggregate assessment of multi-channel sequences, taking into account that they are interdependent. The purpose of the paper is to create an attribution model that comprehensively evaluates multi-channel sequences and shows the effect of each channel on the conversion. The presented model of attribution can be based on the theory of graphs or Markov chains. The first method of calculation is more visual, the second (based on Markov chains) allows for work with a large amount of data. As a result, a model of multi-channel attribution was presented, which is based on Markov processes or graph theory. It allows for maximum comprehensive assessing of the impact of each channel on the conversion. On the basis of the two methods, calculations were carried out, confirming the adequacy of the model used for the tasks assigned.

The objective of this study was to describe the creation cycle of the module "medication administration" and to evaluate it. It is an evaluation research, using the Engagement Theory as a methodological/theoretical approach carried out in two phases: the first related to the creation of the module and the second to its evaluation by specialists using the instrument based on the Model of Analytical Appreciation of Hypermedia Systems. The creation cycle of the module followed the following steps: gathering the objectives of the module, organization of the content, selection of the media, creation of the classes and activation of the learning process. It was evaluated by contents specialists, informatics specialists and nursing students. The evaluation of the distribution and the accessibility of the contents, the utilization of images, the clarity and ease of execution of the program were positive. The module was considered appropriate to be used with nursing students.

The article considers the system of general didactic, specifi c principles and criteria for the selection of the content of the emotional-value component (EVC) of the content of foreign language education. It is intended to facilitate the formation and development of students motivational and value orientations, emotional-volitional relationship and personal universal educational actions (UEA). In the description of the principles of selection of the content of foreign language education we have identifi ed information that is associated with the accentuation of individual (emotional-value and volitional) aspects of students perceiving diff erent linguistic culture and their experience in it. The system of principles and criteria for the selection of the content of EVC is the basis of the achievement of the objectives of modern foreign language education, ensuring the priority of its moral component. The backbone principle, performing the integrating and coordinating functions of the system, is the principle of conformity of the content of education (CE) to the requirements of the society, science, culture and personality development.

The paper analyzes the uncertainty of goal-setting in the preparation of bachelors in Psychology to social work; the structure of competences, the final examination criteria for graduates. We describe the risks in training programs in the selection of the content and teaching technologies: lack of the principles of academic and applied bachelor content distinction; risk of a “clip” format of teaching students due to the shortage of time for the acquisition of the academic disciplines content; the risk of "hidden defect" in the development of professionally important qualities in graduates. We outline the methodology to overcome these risks: the implementation of the principle of the unity of the "philosophy of practice" and the science of psychology; the standard of the psychologist work should be the basis of the content selection and didactic training of psychologists; the principle of integration of the human sciences is a functional element of the social system, free and sovereign personality, and individual organism.

The purpose of the article is to present the scientific and methodological ideas of Professor L.V. Shamrey’s, ScD in Education. The article focuses on the issues of modern lessons of Literature; the issues, related to the general and philological culture of the teacher, their professional skills to plan and structure one’s activities, rethink the goals and objectives of teaching in accordance with modern requirements. The article includes information on the all-Russian conference “Literary work in the context of artistic culture” (Nizhny Novgorod), dedicated to the memory of L.V. Shamrey. The article includes a substantial review of her monograph “The role of image-associative thinking in the development of the school pupil reader”. Describing the scientific direction headed by L.V. Shamrey, the author dwells in detail on the difference between the lessons of a simulation type and traditional literature lessons. The difference entails imagery as a principle of structuring educational activities, increased emotiveness, careful selection of content, higher complexity of tasks and accuracy of wording. In the article special attention is paid to the staged structure and organization of the lessons of a simulation type including the “birth” of an idea expressed in a metaphorical form, concept, principles of content selection, and description of the course of the lesson. Theoretically based ideas are supported by some examples of lessons from the practical experience of L.V. Shamrey’s. By way of conclusion, the author deduces that the introduction of the lessons of a simulation type into the literature teaching process is not a rejection of the traditional classical lesson. It’s an enrichment of the teacher’s professional culture which has a huge impact on the development of literary education in school and a certain degree of students’ freedom of reflection over the read piece of art.
