Abstract This research mainly describes the metacognitive evaluation method that can affect both the teaching and learning process of learners, especially novice learners, in consecutive interpretation. The basic idea of this study is to argue that evaluation of novice learners should be based on standards differentiated from those geared towards professional interpreters. The purpose and limitations of evaluation from a pedagogical standpoint are examined, followed by an overview of evaluation in the interpretation classroom. This study is noteworthy in that it attempts to propose a framework for performance assessment and to introduce the learning curve concept as part of assessing the learning process, which are presented as the main elements of the metacognitive evaluation method.

Student monitoring is the form of school's supervision process on the teaching and learning activities at SMAN Mojoagung, Jombang, East Java, Indonesia, which  includes the class journals, student's attendance, and students' achievement of basic competencies. However, the recent monitoring process has had some obstacles, including 1) The absence of recapitulation of students' attendance in each lesson which makes it difficult for the teacher to monitor the students' attendance in the teaching and learning process; and 2) poor documentation of the students' achievements of basic competencies in each lesson, which ultimately affects the quality of the teaching and learning process. Based on the obstacles, it is crucial to build a web-based information system which is capable to accommodate the supervision process of the teaching and learning activity involving class journal report, recapitulation of the students' attendance in each lesson and the report of basic-competence achievement. The approach of this current research in this information system development used Waterfall method. The approach of this current research in this information system development used Waterfall method. Integrated evaluation of the teaching-learning process in science: a proposal applied to the final years of elementary school Abstract In this article, the evaluate as component of the teaching-learning process was discussed. Until the 1980s, written tests (whether discursive or objective), were the central element for the evaluation process, being considered the unique method for this purpose. However, from the 90's, the educational community realized that the evaluation should overcome its classificatory character, becoming a diagnostic and summative procedure. For this purpose, the evaluation must be connected to the teaching and learning processes, as a much more comprehensive process, namely Teaching-Learning-Assessment (Onuchic; Allevato, 2011). In this sense, it's necessary to rethink classroom practices, and look for alternatives that could integrate these three important mechanisms. In this way, the aim of the present paper was to verify the functionality of an evaluation method, which could promotes students learning. It was reported an evaluation experience with the final years of Elementary School students, using the Observation Assessment with immediate intervention in the Sciences teaching, associated to the Problem Solving method. Although this evaluation method is not largely used, mainly in Elementary School, this assessment methodology was reported as effective, which can be employed to promote learning,  including in Science teaching. Keywords: Evaluate. Teaching-Learning-Assessment. Problem Solving method.

Abstract: Introduction: Mini-CEX is an evaluation method that covers the domains: anamnesis, physical examination, counseling, clinical judgment, organization, and professionalism. It has been tested and validated for use in any practice scenario. With its characteristic of providing feedback after a clinical assessment, the Mini-CEX can also be used as a training method to guide the professional development of students and teachers, promoting greater knowledge retention in undergraduate students and continuously providing information for students to realize how far they are from the desired objectives. The aim of this study was to assess the perception of interns, residents, and preceptors of Internal Medicine (IM) regarding the Mini-CEX instrument. Methods: Qualitative study, using the focus group technique, carried out from February to July 2017. Twenty interns, thirteen residents, and five IM preceptors participated. It consisted of six focus groups, two with interns, two with residents, and two with preceptors, using semi-structured questions that identified perceptions, through the methodology used, on the quality of the evaluation and possible repercussions for the teaching-learning process. Results: In the focus group of interns, the feedback moment of the assessment was considered essential for the learning process, although the bedside assessment was tense due to the preceptor’s presence. The residents reported that the evaluation was a valid one, as it led them to review some points in the medical literature, in addition to stimulating clinical reasoning in the face of a real situation. The preceptors validated the importance of the feedback for those who were evaluated and identified the bedside assessment as a moment for the best analysis of the individualities. Conclusion: Through the perceptions of the groups in focus, the mini-CEX was identified as a fundamental instrument for the teaching and learning process of all those involved and the need to structure the moment of feedback aiming to attain a more effective result. During the bedside assessment, the stimulus to clinical reasoning was identified as a positive point and the strangeness, anxiety, and tension as negative points.
