THE ORIGIN OF BEACH NAMES IN TANJUNGSARI: TOPONYMY STUDIES

This toponymy study discusses the origin names of beaches in Tanjungsari Subdistrict, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta which are spread in three villages, namely Kemadang, Ngestirejo, and Banjarejo. This research aims to documents the naming of beaches in the area and classifies the naming into three presuppositions meaning based on Nyström’s theory, which are categorical, associative, and emotive meaning. This study used a qualitative research method. Research data were collected by means of observation and interviews with Village Hall officials and the community. The results of this study can be used to add information that can be conveyed to tourists. The results showed that categorical meaning on the beaches in Tanjungsari District is dominated by geographical condition, while the least is people’s name category. Associative presupposition meaning is dominated by neutral associative meaning, which are sea and conditions geographical. Meanwhile, the least dominant meaning of the associative presupposition is positive associative meaning. The dominant meaning of the emotive presupposition is the emotive meaning positive, which is happy. The least dominating out of the emotive presupposition meaning is the neutral emotive presupposition. Most beach naming comes from Javanese. This is influenced by the language spoken by most local community

Research on religion and socio-economic changes in the community around the Gunung Padang site, Karyamukti Village, Campaka District, Cianjur Regency originated from the emergence of a local community in carrying out its religion and culture in the form of socio-economic changes. The focus of the research reveals how religious the people around the Gunung Padang site are. How is the socio-economic culture of the community around Mount Padang with the Gunung Padang site, as well as how the religious and socio-economic changes of the community after the restoration (excapation) of the Gunung Padang site. This study uses a qualitative research method, to analyze the religious relationship between the community and the socio-economic culture of the community around ancient sites using a phenomenological approach. The results of this study indicate that the religion of the people around the site is greatly influenced by the process of combining religious understanding and local culture that has been hereditary. The form is through religious expressions, namely belief (theology), ritual (rites) and community (community).

Hijabers Surabaya is a community of veiled women who become the mecca for young Muslim fashion . They are continuously creating the hijab with the latest fashions. Hijabs by Hijabers Surabaya are generally priced quite expensive. This situation raises the curiosity of researchers. How do Hijabers Surabaya present their lifestyle. And how is the relevance between fashion, hijab and capitalism in Hijabers Surabaya. To answer these problems, this study uses qualitative methods with the type of case study research. This qualitative research method was chosen in order to obtain in-depth and comprehensive research data regarding the lifestyle of Surabaya Hijabers and the relevance of fashion, headscarves and capitalism in Hijabers Surabaya. The data obtained were then presented descriptively and then analyzed with the social construction theory coined by Peter L. Berger.

This paper examines the community-based ecotourism on Yim Tin Tsai which is a representative example of Hong Kong’s responsible management. The island presents a local community of the explored saltpan and natural resources. The research draws upon criticism of ecotourism in Yim Tin Tsai as a way of understanding the importance of balancing nature with the economic interests. As adopting a qualitative research method for the case study, the experience and thoughts reflected by the local resident of will be also analyzed.

The research used in this paper is a qualitative research method with descriptive analytical case study method, which is an analysis that produces descriptive data in the form of written or oral words from people and behaviors that can be observed with a predetermined method. The purpose of this method is to minimize the results of research difficult to manipulate because researchers have little chance to control events that will occur. The event in question is the empowerment of the Rungkut Jaya Surabaya Mosque Amil Zakat Institution in improving mustahiq welfare, so that the data needed is not enough historical data but interviews are needed, and direct observation in the field. Aim of scope this research is analysis the role of work motivation in employee performance in Tanjung Balai North Tanjungbalai District office Research method is a method used by researchers in collecting research data. In this study the method used is a qualitative research method which is a research method whose case study leads to a detailed and in-depth description of the portrait of what actually happens according to what is in the field of study. The results showed that the role of work motivation in employee performance in Tanjung Balai North Tanjungbalai District office that motivation is very influential is the work itself which it has if appropriate, but in reality there are still employees who find it difficult to carry out motivation due to the employee wanting to retire, this ditujukkan of employees in completing the work given is always not maximally done well, and the work given to employees in accordance with the expertise and ability of employees so that in the completion of the work will cause a feeling of dislike of the work with results that are not good too. So that it can be said that the work of the employee itself motivates them to work.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk memahami tentang bentuk musik ritmik Gong Timor dalam upacara ritual Tfua Ton berdasarkan elemen-elemen irama yang terkandung didalamnya serta memahami lebih dalam tentang makna simbolik Gong Timor dalam upacara ritual Tfua Ton. Metode penelitian menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain penelitian fenomenologi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumen. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui proses reduksi, penyajian dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa, bentuk musik Gong Timor terdiri dari beberapa elemen irama yaitu ketukan, aksen dan pola irama. Makna simbolik yang terkandung pada Gong Timor dalam upacara ritual Tfua Ton yaitu sebagai simbol komunikasi, keperkasaan, karakter dan identitas masyarakat Desa Napan. Simbol tersebut dimaknai dengan adanya perjuangan masyarakat dalam memperjuangkan kehidupan dan kebutuhan ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Dalam ritual tersebut Gong timor dimaknai sebagai penghubung antara masyarakat dengan para leluhur dan alam yang mendiami tempat tersebut. Gong Timor tersebut mamiliki makna simbolik yang hanya bisa dipahami oleh masyarakat setempat. Gong Timor dalam upacara ritual Tfua Ton telah menjadi satu kesatuan yang tidak dapat dipisahkan. The purpose of this research is to understand the rhythmic musical form of Timor Gong in the Tfua Ton ritual based on the rhythm elements contained therein and to understand more deeply the symbolic meaning of Gong Timor in the Tfua Ton ritual. The research method uses descriptive qualitative research design with phenomenology. Research data were collected using observation, interview and document study techniques. Data analysis technique is done through the process of reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that, the Timor Gong music form consists of several elements of rhythm namely beats, accents and rhythm patterns. The symbolic meaning contained in the Gong Timor in the Tfua Ton ritual ceremony is as a symbol of communication, might, character and identity of the people of Napan Village. The symbol is interpreted by the struggle of the community in fighting for the lives and economic needs of the local community. In the ritual Gong timor is interpreted as a liaison between the community and the ancestors and nature who inhabit the place. The Timor Gong has a symbolic meaning that can only be understood by the local community. Gong Timor in the Tfua Ton ritual ceremony has become an inseparable unit.Keywords: Form and Meaning; Timor Gong; Tfua Ton; Symbolic Meaning

This study was conducted to determine how the true meaning of listening to poetry and the fact that listening to poetry have not done particularly among students in Surakarta. The research problem is how to know the true meaning of listening to poetry and listening to poetry real fact that has not done well among students in Surakarta. The research method is qualitative research method description. With a population of this research is the students in Surakarta. The collection of research data by means of direct observation of listening skills and an understanding of the meaning of poetry poetry listening to the study population that is among students in Surakarta. The results of this study show that in the students in Surakarta still do not understand the true meaning of listening to poetry and listening to poetry have not done well. It can be concluded that the need for a good understanding of the listeners to understand the things that will be listened to and can determine the outcome of what has been obtained after listening to poetry.

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed patterns in all aspects of society, including its impact on political participation in society. Blitar Regency is a small example in several regions in Indonesia which carry out the 2020 simultaneous regional elections during the pandemic with a slightly different style from previous years. The purpose of the study was to determine the political participation of the Blitar district community in the 2020 simultaneous elections. The qualitative research method is a socio-political research with a normative-juridical approach with empirical data obtained from some information from informants who developed in the field. The results show that in a pandemic situation Covid-19 which has the potential to reduce public political participation in exercising their voting rights, it turns out that the Blitar Regency KPU is able to create a solution that is anticipatory, namely by implementing strict health protocols, and massive socialization either directly or digitally, so that it is able to approach the expected target, even higher from the previous two years. KPU, KPPS and the local community cooperate with each other to anticipate by trying to ensure health security during the simultaneous regional elections, also always trying to avoid possible frauds.

The problem of this research is the structure of the clause Dayak Tagol the languange which spoken by people in Tau Lumbis Village, Subdistrict Lumbis Ogong, Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan Province. This research aim to describe a general overview of the life Dayak Tagol people and the structure of the clause the languange of Dayak Tagol.  This research used a qualitative research method. The results of this research shows that the structure of the clause Dayak Tagol can be classified into (1) the structure of the clause predicated of non-verb and (2) the structure of the clause predicated of verb. The structure of the clause predicated of non-verbal can be intangible (1) clause predicate nominal, (2) clause adjectival, (3) numeralia, and (4) clause the phrase prepositional. Based on the research data, the structure of the clause verbal consists of (1) clause intransitive, (2) clause ekatransitif (the clause argued the core two), and (3) clause be dwitransitive (the clause argued the core three)

Timorese culture is patriarchal in that men are more dominant than women. As if women were not considered in traditional rituals so that an understanding was built that valued women lower than men. However, in contrast to the article to be studied, this would like to see the priority of women’s roles in traditional marriages in Belle village, South Central Timor. The role of women wiil be seen from giving awards to their parents called puah mnasi manu mnasi. This paper aims to look at the meaning of the rituals of puah mnasi maun mnasi and the role and strengths that women have in traditional marriage rituals in the village of Belle, South Central Timor. The method used for this research is a qualitative research method using interview techniques with a number of people in the Belle Villa community and literature study to strengthen this writing. Based on the data obtained this paper shows that the adat rituals of puah mnasi manu mnasi provide a value that can be learned, namely respect for women, togetherness between the two families, and brotherhood that is intertwined due to customary marital affrairs.
