Abstract Objective To evaluate musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) as a screening tool for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA) patients in a rheumatology-screening program. Patients and methods To raise awareness for rheumatic diseases, a mobile rheumatology office was deployed in different cities of Germany (“Rheuma-Truck”). Standardized questionnaire assessment, testing for rheumatoid factor and citrullinated peptide antibodies and medical student driven MSUS of the clinically dominant hand/foot including wrist, MCP-II, -III, -V, PIP-II, -III, MTP-II and -V were offered free of charge to the population. In case of suspicious results, a rheumatologist was consulted. Results In MSUS, 192 of 560 selected volunteers (aged 18–89, mean 52.7 years; 72.9% female) had suspicious findings including synovitis or erosions primarily affecting the MTP-II (11.8%), dorsal wrist (8.9%), and MCP-II (7%). 354 of the 560 volunteers further visited a rheumatologist of whom 76 were diagnosed with RA. According to the ‘US7 Score’, a sum scores ≥ 5 was significantly predictive for RA (odds ratio (OR) 5.06; confidence interval (CI) 0.83–35.32). 313 volunteers displayed signs of OA including osteophytes, while MCP-II (36.2%), MCP-III (14.8%), and the wrist (10.5%) were mostly affected. Diagnosis of RA was favoured over OA if the wrist (OR 4.2; CI 1.28–13.95), MTP-II (OR 1.62; CI 1.0–2.6), and MCP-V (OR 2.0; CI 1.0–3.8) were involved. Conclusion Medical student driven MSUS by the ‘US7 Score’ can facilitate diagnosis of RA in rheumatology-screening programs due to the level of the score and the affected joints. A high rate of unknown OA signs was detected by MSUS. A mobile rheumatology office displays an opportunity to screen patients for RA and OA.

The objective of our investigation was to verify a questionnaire’s suitability in identifying managerial competencies concerning managers’ personality characteristics. Methods: For the content validity of the questionnaire assessment of managerial competencies (AMC23), we investigated its coherence with the appraisal of the management style methodology, i.e., managerial grid (MG), with correlation analysis. The existence of statistically significant relationships between the assessment of managerial competencies and managers’ personality characteristics was determined using Pearson’s correlation coefficient concerning the BIG-5 model. Results: In total, 573 managers participated in this study. Our examination concludes that motivational competencies correlated positively with the compromise and cooperative style; performance competencies with the competitive and cooperative style; and social competencies with the cooperative, adaptive, and compromise style. Not least, target competencies positively correlated with the competitive and cooperative style. Further, neuroticism negatively correlated with social managerial competence, extraversion, and openness to experience, which positively correlated with motivational and target competence. Friendliness was positively associated with social competence, and diligentness positively correlated with motivational, performance, and target competence. Conclusion: We determined significant correlations between managerial competencies (AMC23) and managerial style (MG). Our findings might have implications for further investigation and the development of more comprehensive instruments to assess managerial competencies in connection with managers’ personalities. We point out the need for further research to verify, improve, and constitute a model that further elucidates and explains managerial competencies.

The government has enacted Law Number 20 Year 2008 concerning Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, but in reality there are still many people who do not yet have the interest to form MSMEs. This is due to residents not understanding the rules that apply. The method of community service is in the form of lectures. Lecturers as lecturers, and village officials as participants. Before the lecture, participants were asked to answer the pre-test questionnaire. After the material and questions and answers, participants were asked to fill in the post-test questionnaire. Based on the results of the activity it appears that increasing public understanding of MSMEs. This can be proven by various questions raised by participants and the results of the participant questionnaire assessment. Participants have understood the position of the community that has potential and strategic roles in realizing economic development, especially in Dewi Sari Village, Kec. Rengasdengklok District. Karawang, establish and manage MSMEs and so on. It is recommended that activities like this can be done routinely so that the existing MSMEs continue to grow so as to increase the income per capita of the community.

Abstract Background Poor environmental conditions and hygiene practices at the time of childbirth is linked to life-threatening infections and death in mothers and babies. Improvements in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) have been identified as a means through which the lives of mothers and babies could be saved. This study was carried out to explore WASH conditions and infection prevention and control (IPC) practices in traditional birth homes/centers in Abeokuta, Southwest Nigeria. A total of 50 traditional birth centers and attendants (TBAs) were enrolled in the study. Sociodemographic characteristics of the TBAs and features of the birth centers were obtained using a semi-structured questionnaire. Assessment of WASH conditions and IPC practices was based on established protocols. Results Findings revealed that majority of the centers operated under poor WASH conditions and IPC practices; none met with the WHO minimum standards for environmental health. Conclusions Adequate WASH facilities and IPC practices remain a critical component of maternal and child health even in non-facility birth. As the transition to facility births continues in many countries, the large number of non-facility births demands their inclusion in WASH-related strategies, if global goals of reducing deaths of newborns and women deaths will be achieved.

Congenital epidermolysis bullosa is known to be on the list of rare diseases for which there is no specific treatment. Determining thecontent and means of the rehabilitation program for patients with epidermolysis bullosa is not an easy task and involves a carefulselection of methods for each patient. Aim. The article analyzes the results of the use of non-drug methods in the complex rehabilitation of 90 children (from 6,5 to 18 years)with congenital epidermolysis bullosa. Material and methods. To assess the effectiveness of rehabilitation in the study before and after treatment we used methods ofclinical examination with skin state evaluation and standard psychological and pedagogical examination to determine the degree ofsocial adaptation of patients (analysis of medical and psychological and pedagogical documentation, structured conversation aboutsocial conditions of the child’s life, “Color diagnostic test of nervous and mental states and relations” (V.I. Timofeev and Y.I. Filimonenko),the method “Drawing of an unknown animal” (M.Z. Dukarevich, adaptation by A.L. Venger), “The T.V. Dembo-S.Y. Rubinstein Self-AssessmentResearch Method, the Self-Concept Scale” (E. Pierce, L. Harris, adapted by A. M. Prikhozhan), questionnaire “Assessment ofparental compliance” (D.E. Morisky, L.V. Green), questionnaire “Feeling, activity, mood” (V.A. Doskin, N.A. Lavrentieva, V.B. Sharay andM.P. Miroshnikov). The way in which diagnostics was organized varied taking into account the individual psychophysical capabilitiesof the child. Results. The effectiveness evaluation of the complex rehabilitation of children with epidermolysis bullosa showed an improvementin the clinical condition of the children (significant reduction/elimination of dryness and itching of the skin) and the indicators of wellbeing(mean value: before 30 points after 45, p ≤0.05), activity (mean value: before 25 after 34, p ≤0.05), mood (mean value: before 44,after 51, p ≤0.05) of patients (WAM questionnaire), an increase in the degree of parental commitment to treating children (Moriski-Green questionnaire) from medium to medium and high values. Conclusion. The inclusion of physical therapy and psychological and pedagogical methods of assistance in the process of rehabilitationtreatment increases its effectiveness, activates the compensatory potential of the child’s body, promotes harmonization of intrafamilyrelationships, and thus improves the quality of life of the child and his or her relatives.

Background: The link between cardiometabolic and psychiatric illness has long been attributed to human behaviour, however recent research highlights shared biological mechanisms. The ASTN2 locus has been previously implicated in psychiatric and cardiometabolic traits, therefore this study aimed to systematically investigate the genetic architecture of ASTN2 in relation to a wide range of relevant traits. Methods: Baseline questionnaire, assessment and genetic data of 402111 unrelated white British ancestry individuals from the UK Biobank was analysed. Genetic association analyses were conducted using PLINK 1.07, assuming an additive genetic model and adjusting for age, sex, genotyping chip, and population structure. Conditional analyses and linkage disequilibrium assessment were used to determine whether cardiometabolic and psychiatric signals were independent. Results: Associations between genetic variants in the ASTN2 locus and blood pressure, total and central obesity, neuroticism, anhedonia and mood instability were identified. All analyses support the independence of the cardiometabolic traits from the psychiatric traits. In silico analyses provide support for the central obesity signal acting through ASTN2, however most of the other signals are likely acting through other genes in the locus. Conclusions: Our systematic analysis demonstrates that ASTN2 has pleiotropic effects on cardiometabolic and psychiatric traits, rather than contributing to shared pathology.

The article deals with leading role of managers in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of management in all spheres of social life. At the same time, the relevance is dictated by the need, in this regard, to study more deeply the factors of the formation and development of managerial potential, and, consequently, increase the efficiency of managerial activity and the success of a managerial career. The material for the analysis was the data obtained at the Faculty of Evaluation and Development of Managerial Human Resources of the Graduate School of Public Administration of Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in the course of personal and professional diagnostics of managers of different government levels working in the state and non-state spheres. The questionnaire “Assessment of management potential”, developed at the Faculty, as well as the method for assessing the cognitive characteristics of management personnel were used by us as diagnostic tools. Cognitive characteristics have been identified that provide the greatest opportunities for the formation of cognitive characteristics (expert competence, persistence and dedication and strategic leadership). The dynamics of the relationship between cognitive characteristics and managerial leaders, depending on their position in the structure of the hierarchy, is shown in this article. It was found that cognitive characteristics make the greatest contribution to the formation of managerial potential among managers at the initial level of management, having a decisive influence on meta-competence, ensuring the performance of leadership functions and continuous self-improvement of the manager. At the same time, it was shown that the managers of the highest group have the influence of cognitive characteristics on managerial analytical potential, an increase in the ability for self-development and expert competence, an increase in the ability to compare, the ability to quality, and the total indicator for the identified cognitive characteristics. Increased creativity and flexibility of thinking leads to a decrease in the level of strategic leadership, willingness to work together, as well as competencies and self-management.
