The ongoing “pandemic” involving the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 virus (SARS-CoV-2) has several characteristics that make it unique in the history of pandemics. This entails not only the draconian measures that some countries and individual states within the United States and initiated and made policy, most of which are without precedent or scientific support, but also the completely unscientific way the infection has been handled. For the 1st time in medical history, major experts in virology, epidemiology, infectious diseases, and vaccinology have not only been ignored, but are also demonized, marginalized and in some instances, become the victim of legal measures that can only be characterized as totalitarian. Discussions involving various scientific opinions have been eliminated, top scientists have been frightened into silence by threats to their careers, physicians have lost their licenses, and the concept of early treatment has been virtually eliminated. Hundreds of thousands of people have died needlessly as a result of, in my opinion and the opinion of others, poorly designed treatment protocols, mostly stemming from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, which have been rigidly enforced among all hospitals. The economic, psychological, and institutional damage caused by these unscientific policies is virtually unmeasurable. Whole generations of young people will suffer irreparable damage, both physical and psychological, possibly forever. The truth must be told.

Abstract. As a result of the Perczel Project outlined by Mátyás Márton in 2007 at the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), the complete digital restoration and then reconstruction of the 127.5 cm diameter manuscript globe was completed in 2019. The final cartographic completion of the ongoing task at the department by 2013 – led by Mátyás Márton, the project manager, who carried out this work with the help of Judit Paksi –, which included the work of many lecturers and students, aimed at saving the globe.Using this augmented digital processing, it was also possible to create three artistic copies of Perczel’s globe, which was originally made in 1862. This unique work of art, which has suffered irreparable damage due to the ordeals of the 20th century, is of great cultural value and also very important for our cartographic heritage, has been reborn.Following the digital reconstruction, there was a good opportunity to revive another related project. The website, “The interactive gazetteer of Perczel’s globe”, which was born as a result of the work of Zsuzsanna Ungvári and Tibor Tokai earlier, was also created with a new, expanded content. The present study presents the antecedents of gazetteer creation and describes the most important steps of current processing.

Following a minor meniscal injury to his right knee, a previously fit and well 58-year-old man developed profound somatisation leading to paraplegia. The patient developed a deep-seated belief that any exercise or walking would cause irreparable damage to his knee. Over the course of 2 years his, mobility reduced from active mountaineering to walking a short distance, and finally to paraplegia. Medical investigations were normal and organic causes were ruled out. Conventional therapy was exhausted, a number of medications were trialled over 5 years, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and antipsychotics without success. Eventually, with a combination of cognitive behavioural therapy, physiotherapy and a novel experimental therapy where the patient rolled dice and acted according to the roll results, the patient was able to literally and metaphorically get back on his feet.

Dentistry is one of the clinical disciplines that is closely related to medicine, but also to the technology of making various devices and placing artificial materials that compensate and/or upgrade lost teeth and surrounding structures. Dentistry is also medically responsible for the treatment of patients with diseases of the oral cavity. The main task of dentistry is healthy teeth and oral cavity, ie their preservation and treatment of damaged teeth. Caries is the most common dental disease, and is caused by the multiplication of bacteria inside the oral cavity due to lack of oral hygiene. If not treated in time, caries penetrates deeper tooth structures and destroys them which leading to tooth decay. The most common symptoms of caries are tooth sensitivity and toothache. If these symptoms occur, it is necessary to perform an examination at the dentist in order to prevent the disease immediately at the beginning and to avoid significant consequences for dental health. If caries is not treated in time, there is a high chance that irreparable damage will occur to the teeth and tooth tissue, which can ultimately result in the loss of one or more teeth.

Antibody-negative autoimmune encephalitis (AE) is challenging to diagnose because clinically suspected antibody-negative AE cases are difficult to confirm. If not treated properly, like antibody-positive AE, antibody-negative AE can cause irreparable damage to patients. Previously, immunotherapy was effective in treating patients with antibody-negative AE. We present the case of a 63-year-old man who was admitted to our hospital with altered cognition. He was diagnosed with antibody-negative AE based on CSF, brain MRI, and B-cell counts; autoimmune diseases with similar clinical symptoms were ruled out. He was treated with immunotherapy, especially rituximab, for antibody-negative AE. After 3 weeks of treatment, his mental state and brain MRI results, concomitant with a decrease in CD19+/CD20+ B-cell counts. This case report shows that patients with antibody-negative AE may respond to rituximab, similar to those with antibody-positive AE. Thus, potentially undetected antibodies could be responsible for the treatment outcome.

Higher education lecturers go through a long developmental path from graduate students to academic title of professor. On this path, the most delicate period is the retirement. The age of 60 or 65, which is approximately the same as the retirement age in most developed countries, is supposed to be the onset of old age. Today, when we live longer and healthier, irreparable damage would occur if society and the state didn’t take advantage of the knowledge, wisdom and skills that senior professors have accumulated throughout their careers. The vast majority of senior professors could still contribute and participate in the development of society. In our article, we presented the results of a survey regarding the academic and life activities of senior professors, members of the Center for Retired and Distinguished higher education teachers of the University of Maribor. The results showed that the vast majority of retired and professors emeriti were still active in academic life and contributed to the development and functioning of the University.

The impact of economic activity on the environment is undeniable, causing irreparable damage. Thus, investment in emission efficiency is one of the solutions to the problem. A review of the literature shows disparate effects between investment associated with eco-efficient behaviour and the economic-financial profitability of companies. The aim of the study was to provide more empirical evidence on these effects. A balanced data panel was used for a sample of 57 large groups of listed companies for the years 2012-2015. The results reveal a positive relationship between eco-efficiency levels and economic-financial performance. The rewards achieved by companies for improving their results and through financial markets should facilitate the application of regulations with the aim of reducing the impact of business activity on the environment.

Over the past year, consumers’ shopping habits have changed under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and this has inflicted – and continues to inflict – irreparable damage to businesses, including small agricultural producers. Most vulnerable in the sector are the groups of producers of fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, spices, etc. Some of them have realized that they are in urgent need of adopting a new approach to their customers and product selling channels. Gamification is a new layer that can be added to the marketing business strategy to increase the loyalty of existing customers and attract new ones. This text provides a brief overview of the current situation in Bulgaria, the problems producers are facing, and the potential alternative solutions for changing consumer behaviour that can help farmers save their means of livelihood.
