This study aims to design the build of a wear test tool or a tribometer that intends to measure the coefficient of friction and wear rate in contact materials in form of disc-on-disc. This tribometer test tool can be used in dry contact (without any intermediate material between contacts) or wet contacts (by using intermediate material between contacts such as lubricant). The application of this disc-on-disc type of tribometer is the contact that occurs between roller elements (solid cylinders) and inner rings on cylindrical rolling bearings. In this paper is used the design method of VDI 2221. The steps are to clarify the task, determine the function of structure, look for the principle of the solution and its structure, describe the variants that can be realized and give shape to the model and detail the manufacture and used. This tool is used to test components consisting of two discs where the material can be varied. The design of the surface contact side mechanism is done in a radial direction. So, the disc can rotate (rolling contact) and this test tool can be varied load and rotation. The final result of this study is an engineering document in the form of layout drawings and assembly images as well as detailed images of each component and bills of materials.

The plate punching and bending combination machine is a machine that belongs to the press type with the use of a punch and a die to make holes or bends in a plate work-piece. This machine uses a hydraulic drive with a maximum working pressure of 700 Bars, which is used as a punch force to work-piece. But, it is not known the value of working pressure this frame can withstand. Therefore, machine performance becomes unknown such as punch force that can be used, work-piece thickness, whole circumference and type of material that can be machined. In this paper, the analysis is carried out using simulation and experimental methods. The simulation method is carried out using Autodesk Inventor software to determine the critical location, which is then measured by experiment. The experimental method is carried out by measuring the stress and deflection. Voltage measurement on the frame is carried out using a strain gauge sensor and measurements are carried out using a dial indicator. The application of a safety factor is 1.5 based on the yield strength of ASTM A36 as the frame material. The deflection that has occurred is 1.15 mm, the maximum working pressure obtained is 27.7 Bars. The maximum punch force is 5441 N.

This research aims to investigate male-female chamfer angle effect on forging pressure, specimen length and the maximum tensile strength in splicing 6061 aluminum material, which used the rotary friction welding process. This research employed the analytical method to determine the timing of forging pressure as an initial reference to conduct the experimental study for the specimens test. The specimens were tested by varying the male-female chamfer angle, namely 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°. The results test were obtained the longest application of forging pressure at the male-female chamfer angle of 60° and the fastest application of forging pressure at the male-female chamfer angle of 15°. The change in length of the specimen during the welding process for each variation of the male-female chamfer angle varies due to the friction time different. The largest change in length was at the male-female chamfer angle of 15° and the smallest change in length at the male-female chamfer angle of 60°. The maximum tensile strength was obtained at the variation of male-female chamfer angle of 60° with a value of 226.47 MPa.

The Bisection, Newton and Horner’s method are used to compare the efficiency to solve nonlinear function such as trigonometric, exponential, logarithmic and cubic polynomial function. Although these methods are considered as alternative, the methods also possess error compared to the exact value. The efficiency is measured by the error produced at the fixed iteration. The methods are converted into C language and executed by using maple 18.

The measurement process is the most important part of the production process in the industrial world. Obtaining good measurement results can not be separated from using measuring instruments that are always maintained. Subsequence, the maintenance of calibration procedures must be carried out periodically based on a predetermined time limit. The calibration process is an activity to compare standard quantities between measuring instruments and testers that are in accordance with the measuring instrument and carried out periodically. The implementation of the calibration process often has generates an uneven value where this value is better known as the uncertainty value. This research objective is to determine the uncertainty value of the measuring instrument of a dial indicator using the JIS B 7503 Standard. The calibration can control the quality of the equipment used, and can show whether the tool is feasible or not to be used.

The decrease in conventional energy sources followed by the world's energy demand as well as mounting concern about climate change, the countries are competing to get new sources of environmentally friendly energy with large reserves. The utilization of CBM as a new energy is an option because of its huge reserves, more environmentally friendly than traditional fossil energy (CBM emissions are 0.39 tones/MWh) and energy efficiency equivalent to natural gas. Indonesia has huge CBM reserves (400 TCF) but has not been utilize optimally due to technological problems, government regulations, large investments and others. This issues plus geographical constraints also occurs in countries with huge CBMs resource such as Russia (450 TCF) and China (700 TCF). Meanwhile, USA (500 TCF) and Australia (500 TCF) already have more established rules and technology. It is necessary to conduct a comparative study from each country according to the applicable regulations to accelerate the utilization of CBM.
