This article aims to discuss the existence of palung salt technology as a variant of traditional solar evaporation-based salt production technology. This technology is very typical and has been used for generations by salt farmers in Bali, especially at Amed in Karangasem, Tejakula in Buleleng, and Kusamba in Klungkung. Historical and sociological method is used in this research. Palung salt technology is a historical inheritance that still functions as a cultural memory and therefore becomes a pattern for the actions of salt farmers in the three petasikan until recent time. However, since the beginning of the 21st century the preservation of palung salt technology have been faced a serious threat as a result of the inclusion of new technologies in the salt production process and especially by the growing tourism industry in palung salt production area. But, there is the awareness of stakeholders who need to preserve the technology by conducting various activities. Although carried out in a fragmentary method, efforts to preserve palung salt technology have become a shared awareness among stakeholders in the salt economy in Bali.

The coastal environment in Klungkung Regency is undergoing rapid change as a result of the pace of development to serve the demands of the tourism industry, especially in the Nusa Penida islands, which has been designated as a Strategic Tourism Area. Changes in the coastal environment has led to the marginalization of some coastal residents, especially palung salt farmers on the Kusamba beach. This traditional salt production technology highly depends on the stability of the coastal environment, especially the availability of land on the coast. The development of community ports on the Kusamba coast and surrounding areas to support tourism development easily creates pressure for palung salt farmers. This is because the entire production process in the traditional salt is carried out on the coastline. By relying on literature studies and documents as well as experience doing fieldwork in the Kusamba pesisri, this article shows that the development of the people's port and the arrangement of the Kusamba coastal area has marginalized palung salt farmers. Marginalization that can be identified includes restrictions on access to land on the coast border, leading to increasingly limited production areas.

Kata kunci: garam rakyat, manajemen usaha, produksi bersih garam ABSTRACTThe purpose of this service activity is to provide training in clean production and business management to the people's salt business group in Kuala Idi Cut Village, Darul Aman Sub-District, East Aceh District. The procedure for implementing activities consists of; coordination of activities, socialization, training, and mentoring. The community group that is a partner in this activity is the Putik Meulu Group. The group is one of the people's salt business groups, with group members consisting of inong balee (widows) whose economic life is completely deprived. This group has been running its business since 2000 and is able to produce around 200 kilograms of salt every day from five kitchens with assets of around Rp 23,500,000. The results obtained, with training in clean salt production and various kinds of business management, are able to change the mindset of partners related to the salt production process. Where the salt kitchen is made permanent, it is given a fence around so as to avoid animals entering the salt kitchen. From the production aspect, the average salt production increased to 90 kg/day. In addition, the resulting salt is also white and free from impurities. In conclusion, with training in salt clean production and various kinds of business management, it is hoped that it will open the mindset of partner salt farmers to use advanced technology to increase their salt productivity. Keywords: people's salt, business management, clean salt production

Abstract Tourism remains a very vulnerable sector and sensitive to both internal and external impacts, such as economic and social crises, natural disasters, epidemics and diseases, national and international conflicts. Among these, the most alarming threat in the 21st century remains terrorism. In this sense, this paper aims to study the effects of the increasingly frequent terrorist attacks by the extremist factions of Al-Qaeda and ISIL on the tourism industry in the Mediterranean Region. The contribution, after having discussed in general the tourism market in the Mediterranean Region, intends to highlight the impacts and repercussions of the terrorist attacks on tourism, presenting the example of Egypt and one of its best-known tourist destinations, Sharm el-Sheikh. In this sense, it is shown how, in a few years, the political instability of the country and the attacks of 2005 and 2016 have significantly reduced the influx of tourists, transforming it from one of the most visited destinations in the world in a place of increasing abandonment.

ABSTRACT With the increasing incorporation of digital media in 21st century societies, a paradigmatic phenomenon is occurring on the language issue: communicative practices have started being widely mediated by technology. Besides incorporating earlier technologies, such as radio and television, computers have enabled users, who were mere passive recipients, to become information emitters as well. Starting from the principle pointed out by Marshall McLuhan (1964) that the medium controls the scales and actions configured in language, this paper seeks to understand the scalar levels of new technologies contexts and how they reverberate on meditated linguistic practices. Digital media are considered here as their own computational designs, communication channels that, far from being neutral, are previously set by large computational companies and, therefore, present ideologies and already configured forms of interaction, stimulating semiotic and pragmatic dimensions of language, reflecting on aspects of culture and, consequently, on political life.

The tourism industry has greatly contributed to the strengthening of the trade balance position of Korea as much as the export industry itself ever since 1975 when the former was designated as one of Korea's main strategic industries. However, the tourism industry, which registered the highest surplus of US 2,000 million in 1988, the year Korea hosted the Olympic Games, has declined since 1989 when the overseas travel of Koreans was completely liberalized. In 1992, the tourism industry showed a deficit of US$ 360 million. It is anticipated that the deficit in the tourism industry will further increase. To cope with the threatened decline in the revenue of the tourism industry, the government has been contemplating special measures to boost Korea's share in the world tourism market of US$ 230 billion per year.

The paper describes a method of incorporating knowledge and data of the production process into a concept design model in a way which provides a flexible and powerful structural design tool. Interactive graphics is shown to be a useful design aid when defining geometry and scantlings particularly when combined with a database of information on standardization, build methods and production technology. An effective method of assessing work content is presented in which man-hours are assessed for each phase in the construction process, that is, preparation, fabrication and erection. The total build cost, including labor, material and overhead, is used as the criterion in a series of studies which demonstrate the application of the method to concept design and which show the sensitivity of total cost to changes in various parameters of design and production.
