The research approach is quantitative with a sample of 335 from a population of 2,064 junior high school teachers in Bandung. Data were obtained from teachers using a questionnaire. The data is processed and interpreted using path analysis as an inferential statistical technique by first testing statistical assumptions, including transforming ordinal data into intervals and data normality testing. The study concluded that the development of teacher professional abilities can improve teacher competence and performance, which is expected to ultimately improve the quality of student learning. The implications include: 1) it is necessary to develop effective training; and 2) competence with performance is important to promote better teaching and learning. Based on these implications, there are several recommendations, namely: 1) increasing the development of teacher professional abilities through technical assistance and quality control group forums; (2) designing the development of teacher professional abilities that have a direct impact on the teaching and learning process; (3) develop a model with competency as the dependent variable; and (4) recommend the human side of the organization as a determinant factor that needs to be investigated.

The teaching performance of the teachers of both groups was assessed via a teaching performance observation form. The data collected through classroom observation was analyzed using SPSS. The differences between the teachers of both the groups in terms of the teaching skills were calculated using Mann-Whitney U test. Findings: Statistically significant differences were found in the rank means of the participants of the control and the experimental groups regarding their lesson planning and teaching skills. The results were favorable for the teachers of the experimental group; however, no significant difference was found between the scores of the experimental and the control groups in terms of lesson evaluation skills. Originality: The use of WebQuests significantly enhances the teaching skills of the students of the general diploma in English.

Significant value for the influence of X1 and X2 simultaneously to Y is 0.291> 0.05 and the value of Fcount is 1.263 <Ftable 3.16 so that it can be stated that X1 and X2 have an influence on Y. The method used is qualitative research because it aims to obtain in-depth data and information, so that the goal of knowing and evaluating teacher performance can be achieved. This type of research is an evaluative research, that is, research to look for gaps between real conditions and expectations as determined by existing standards.Subjects in this study were the principal, teachers and students of Unesa Labschool Junior High School Kawung. This study was conducted in the odd semester of the 2019-2020 school year. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documents. The data analysis technique used in this study was an interactive analysis model consisting of three components, namely data reduction, triangulation, data presentation and conclusion making. The results of this study indicate that teacher performance viewed from pedagogical competencies has generally run well and accorded to the academic qualifications and teacher’s competency standards set by the government. However, the weaknesses of teachers that are still very visible are in creativity in the application of learning both methods and strategies, or in making learning media to support teaching and learning activities. Furthermore, the use of technology is still low and most teachers still use conventional methods in teaching. Whereas teacher performance in terms of professional competence is still not in accordance with academic qualification standards and teacher competencies set by the government. There are still weaknesses in the development of creativity related to media or teaching aids that support learning. In addition, the low implementation of Classroom Action Research (CAR) serves to improve the professionalism of teachers themselves. And the last is the utilization of information and communication technology for personal development that has not been maximized.
