Research into the globalisation processes leads to establishing the set of concepts with the relative heuristic, methodological, and theoretical effectiveness as well as consequent practical effectiveness. Yet, a simple analysis shows this set of concepts as dependent on certain political programmes and projects. Scientific research is not a prirori limited by any other language – except its own, i.e. scientific language. To accept the language of non-scientific discourse means (mostly) to accept the non-scientific logic, too. Scientific establishment of region, community or similar social unit is a matter of logic different from the logic of political programmes or projects. Scientific research seeks logic of a subject (region, e.g.) from outside as well as from inside. That is why ideas and principles of social constructivism would have to play an important role among the scientific research tools. These principles and ideas are not a part of simple language and logic of political programmes and projects. Substitution of scientific language and scientific logic by political ones could lead to a fatal error. A region is the result of social construction, yet the scientific construct of a region is only one dimension of this complex process. This process can be called a social and cultural cartography process and could be based on parallel or complementary research methodologies – on standard methodology (working by means of standard descriptive and analytical quantitative research tools) and on social constructivism methodology (social and cultural cartography). Such complementary research is capable of overcoming relatively naive language and logic of political programmes and projects as well as limited heuristic possibilities of a standard scientific approach.

On the basis of archival materials and other sources, the complex process of formation at the Belarusian State University of mathematical education and scientific research in various fields of science is considered. Particular attention is paid to the years that did not stop in 1919–1921 discussions among officials and scientists about the legality of creating a separate mathematics faculty specifically for the opening of the Belarusian State University. In this case, for the first time, the position of an outstanding mathematician and organiser of mathematical education, a native of Belarus, I. R. Braitsev, is presented in detail. The author defines the 1920s as an undoubtedly significant stage not only in the formation of the mathematical component in the general character of Belarusian State University, but also in the formation of the foundations of the future high level of university mathematics.

In the first section of this contribution, three conditions for scientific research into answers to fundamental, existential questions are discussed. However, because these conditions seem to violate concepts such as 'intersubjectivity' and 'truth', the second section deals with the question in which way a scientific approach that satisfies these three conditions can still be called scientific. The 'possibilistic scientific view' that results from this investigation, will in the third section be exemplified by qualitative research. It will be demonstrated that this social scientific approach can meet the three aforementioned conditions. In the last section, one of the features of such a qualitative approach (and perhaps of any scientific approach) will be emphasized. 'Radical subjectivity' will be presented as a way to fully satisfy the third condition of research into questions of meaning.

Abstract The present study integrates into the complex scientific approach of investigating the legal protection of the rights that result from the intellectual creation in the Romanian objective law. In this regard, it analyzes the main evolutionary benchmarks of the protection of intellectual creation from ancient times to the modern era, aiming to highlight the elements of social nature that were the basis of the emergence and development of copyright. At the same time, the scientific approach addresses the issue of the emergence of copyright by combining, through the method of multi-disciplinary scientific research, the legal, social and historical sciences. In the accomplishment of the present scientific approach we used the following scientific research methods: the historical method, the logical method, the deductive-inductive method and the comparative method.

This research article is the result of a scientific approach that combines guided discovery models to describe the increase of curiosity and student learning outcomes in science subjects. The research approach uses quantitative research with Nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of the study were fifth grade of 76 students of SDN Cibedug, Bogor 2016/2017. The data collection instruments used consisted of observation techniques, scale questionnaires, and test of learning outcomes. The result data showed curiosity and learning result of significance value less than 0.05. Analysis of learning result data obtained t-count value of 3.389 and t-critical at 5% significance level is 0.1992. Thus, t-count> t-table (3.389> 0.1992) which means there is an influence from the scientific approach combining the guided discovery model to the learning outcomes. The average posttest increase of experimental class curiosity was 52.00 while control class was 46.2. The research conclusion of a scientific approach combining the guided discovery model in the field of IPA lesson studies has an influence on learning outcomes and improves the curiosity of elementary school students.

Abstract: The present article presents the personal experience of the author with research methodologies. Some limits of the social scientific research are being analyzed, regarding two of the stages of research:theoretical framework and operationalization; this is the way in which the validity of the criteria and theconstruct validity came into discussion. At the same time, the character of sociological theories and theirutility in scientific research are under discussion. Reasons for which qualitative is chosen are listed despitethe constant disapproval of this method in Romanian sociology (and it’s marginalization in Central – EastEurope). The advantages of qualitative research in socio-human sciences are presented (what is being researched, through what methods, with what results). The special case of using the focus-group at a large scaleis being analyzed (its use without following two of the major qualitative principals: theoretical samplingand theoretical saturation). The article advocates for the usage of qualitative and it is written in a personaland provocative style.Key words: sociological research methodology, qualitative research, quantitative research, validity.

The aim of this article is to analyze the epistemological study of euthanasia, as well as provides the general description of euthanasia in the historical development of the country and legislation. Euthanasia being a socio-legal phenomenon has very ancient historical roots. However, euthanasia has been highlighted as a scientific research object only at the end of the nineteenth century; thus, euthanasia has been classified as an independent scientific approach. In the history of state and law attitude towards euthanasia phenomenon can be divided into four main periods which coincide with global stages in history of mankind. Each of these stages had specific traditions concerning the issue of this kind of ending one’s life.

There have been many past efforts to define the martial arts and to render them in a pseudoscientific manner. The present work attempts to delineate a subset of the greater entity of the martial arts that is primarily concerned with combat as an observable, measurable, and testable phenomenon. The term Integrative Combat (IC) is proposed here to denote such a research area. Applying the tenets of empirical reductionism, a model for IC is proposed that consists of three layers of conceptual abstraction. The IC model offers a means to envision scientific research on combat and to illustrate the benefits of interconnectivity between diverse research interests undertaken from varying levels of conceptual complexity. By forging a scientific approach to the martial arts it becomes possible to achieve new heights of technical knowledge and combative expertise. Thus, IC has the potential to emerge as its own powerful and legitimate field of study.
