This article debates some main modes of art communication within the urban public space, and their interpretation through Open Research. In particular, it discusses communication regimes in places where cultural and artistic events occur, such as the museum. One of the communicative phenomena circulating there is informal art literacy, which is a different and sometimes opposite process in relation to the formal education at school. Having this aim in mind, firstly two core concepts within Art Communication Studies, which are crucial to this debate, are defined: Public Communication of Art-PCA and art literacy. Secondly, questions pertaining to art communication are raised: the definition of cultural policies that allow cultural inclusion of diverse art publics segments; the role of digital devices to improve the understanding of cultural heritage; the more adequate communication and management strategies for improving publics literacy; the reception process undertaken by cultural audiences around art ideas and concepts shared through art events. Thirdly, such questions are framed within the main theoretical and authors’ positioning in Art Communication Studies. Next, some brief practical advices and recommendations concerning how to develop a research on communication within art worlds are exposed in two parts: the first part suggests some hypothesis corresponding to the previous formulated questions. The second part establishes a synthetic and practical agenda for doing a research on this subject. Some emergent sociological apparatuses, produced to improve the social and cultural impact of art communication, are also presented. Finally, specific modes and targets of this impact are discussed.

Постановка задачи. В настоящее время формирование современной комфортной городской среды приобретает особое социально-экономическое значение и выдвигается в число приоритетных государственных масштабных программ. В связи с этим необходимо разработать концепцию благоустройства ключевого общественного пространства, а именно: определить основные и сопутствующие функции данной территории, создать эскизное предложение проекта благоустройства с учетом всех необходимых норм и стандартов, внедрить современные технологии. Результаты. Выполнен эскизный дизайн-проект «Аллеи архитекторов» по ул. Орджоникидзе г. Воронеж, включающий в себя основные элементы по зонированию территории, проектированию акцентных объектов и внедрению инновационных технологий «умного города», позволяющих повысить уровень комфорта горожан. Выводы. Благоустройство населенных мест приобретает особое значение в условиях дискомфорта среды. С выполнением комплекса мероприятий, направленных на благоустройство, и с внедрением современных технологий значительно улучшается экологическое состояние, внешний облик города. Оздоровление и модернизация среды, которая окружает человека в городе, благотворно влияет на психофизическое состояние, что особенно важно в период интенсивного роста городов. Statement of the problem. Currently the formation of the modern comfortable urban environment is gaining a special social and economic value and moving forward in the priorities of state large-scale programs. The purpose of development of the concept of improvement of public space is definition of the main and accompanying functions of this territory, design of the outline offer of the project of improvement considering all necessary norms and standards and implementation of modern technologies. Results. The conceptual project of “Alley of Architects” includes the basic elements of territory zoning, design of accent objects and implementation of technologies of a “smart-city”. These elements allow one to increase the level of comfort of inhabitants. Conclusions. Improvement of the inhabited places is of particular importance in the conditions of discomfort of the environment. Carrying out a complex of the actions directed to gardening and improvement, introducing modern technologies, the ecological condition, the physical appearance of the city considerably improves. Improvement and modernization of the environment which surrounds the person in the city influences a psychophysical state well that especially important during intensive growth of the cities.

The article “Problems of defining folk dance in Latvia today” examines the aspects that affect the current situation in Latvia, where folk dances are understood as both folk dances that have not been modified by choreographers, dances passed down through generations that can be danced every day, and stage folk dances, which are a type of art performed by folk dance ensembles, created by choreographers and dances adapted to the stage performance. The research aim is to identify and describe the problems that currently exist in the Latvian cultural space, where the definition of folk dances creates tension in the public space and ambiguous opinions among dancers. Nowadays, it is possible to identify such concepts as, for example, folk dance, ethnographic dance, authentic dance, traditional dance, folklore dance, folk dance, folk dance adaptation, field dance, folk ballet, etc. Consistent use of concepts is rarely seen in the documents and research of cultural policymakers and the historical and contemporary works of choreographers and researchers. Often they are only described in general terms. A survey conducted in 2019 shows that dancers consider stage folk dances to be folk dances, and often this separation of dances is not important for them. Another problem is the designation of folk dance ensembles where stage folk dance dancers are dancing. The term misleads; it suggests that folk dances are danced there. However, this designation is linked to its historical time of origin. It is not insignificant that the stage folk dance is more popular, more visible, and massively represented at the Song and Dance Festival. Thus, a part of the society associates it with our folk dances.

AimsTo investigate the accuracy and reproducibility of a scoring system for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN1–3) based on immunohistochemical (IHC) biomarkers Ki-67 and p16ink4a.Methods115 cervical tissue specimens were reviewed by three expert gynaecopathologists and graded according to three strategies: (1) CIN grade based on H&E staining only; (2) immunoscore based on the cumulative score of Ki-67 and p16ink4a only (0–6); and (3) CIN grade based on H&E supported by non-objectified IHC 2 weeks after scoring 1 and 2. The majority consensus diagnosis of the CIN grade based on H&E supported by IHC was used as the Reference Standard. The proportion of test positives (accuracy) and the absolute agreements across pathologists (reproducibility) of the three grading strategies within each Reference Standard category were calculated.ResultsWe found that immunoscoring with positivity definition 6 yielded the highest proportion of test positives for Reference Standard CIN3 (95.5%), in combination with the lowest proportion of test positives in samples with CIN1 (1.8%). The proportion of test positives for CIN3 was significantly lower for sole H&E staining (81.8%) or combined H&E and IHC grading (84.8%) with positivity definition ≥CIN3. Immunoscore 6 also yielded high absolute agreements for CIN3 and CIN1, but the absolute agreement was low for CIN2.ConclusionsThe higher accuracy and reproducibility of the immunoscore opens the possibility of a more standardised and reproducible definition of CIN grade than conventional pathology practice, allowing a more accurate comparison of CIN-based management strategies and evaluation of new biomarkers to improve the understanding of progression of precancer from human papillomavirus infection to cancer.

This article examines participatory rights as human rights and considers their importance to the lives of children and young people. It argues that a broad definition of participation needs to be used which takes us from 'round tables' to understanding that young people participate in many different ways. It points out that failure to recognise and respect the many varied ways that children and young people choose to participate results in a breach of their human rights. It shows how our socio-legal system operates to permit and support these breaches of the rights of children and young people, resulting in their alienation from civic society.

This paper tries to unravel the empowerment process by the Paguyuban Pengajar Pinggir Sungai (P3S) in Kampung Blunyah Gede. In the context of empowerment, I emphases the concepts and implementation of activities that have been permitted. This activity is expected to have an impact on the Code River community so that they can be empowered and live independently. The definition of independence can be identified through active participation in non formal education programs. Explosively, this study found that the Sungai Code community can improve well-being by taking alternative education. This offer is known collectively with Free Tutoring, Cheerful Sunday, annual Art Performances, provision of Reading Houses, organizing parents through Parent Committees, and Volunteer Schools. Program routines have an impact on children’s learning enthusiasm, new work produced by children, reporting on learning outcomes, reading group activities, regeneration of volunteers, and children’s potential to develop artistic skills.Tulisan ini berusaha mengeksplorasi proses pemberdayaan yang dilakukan oleh Paguyuban Pengajar Pinggir Sungai (P3S) di Kampung Blunyah Gede. Dalam konteks pemberdayaan, penulis menyoroti konsep dan implementasi kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan memberi dampak kepada masyarakat pinggir Sungai Code sehingga dapat berdaya dan hidup mandiri. Definisi kemandirian dapat diketahui melalui partisipasi aktif sehingga dapat mengikuti program non formal education. Secara eksploratif, dalam kajian ini ditemukan bahwa masyarakat sungai Code dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan dengan mengikuti pendidikan alternatif. Tawaran ini diketahui secara kolektif dengan Bimbingan Belajar Gratis, Minggu Ceria, Pentas Seni tahunan, pengadaan Rumah Baca, pengorganisasian Paguyuban Pengajar Pinggir Sungai (P3S) orang tua melalui Komite Orangtua dan Sekolah Relawan. Rutinitas program berdampak pada semangat belajar, pelaporan hasil belajar, dan karya baru yang dihasilkan anak-anak. Program tersebut juga berdampak pada aktivitas reading group, regenerasi relawan, serta pengembangan skill dan potensi kesenian pada anak-anak.

With the most dominant number, millennial generation is one generation which it has high income compared to the previous generation. This change has an impact on lifestyle, where one of  the  lifestyles  that  are  studied  and  understood  is  the  lifestyle   of   drinking   coffee. These lifestyle changes how community enjoying coffee, so coffee houses that exist especially in Jakarta try to adapt to this activity. Apart from that, the adaptation of coffee houses in Jakarta is also more oriented towards American culture, where its role is in the entry of coffee houses in Jakarta, especially in the era of the second wave. So the question is whether the changes in coffee houses in Jakarta are in accordance with the definition of public spaces in cities where they can contribute to providing life, especially in urban spaces. To find out more about this, type of coffee houses studied especially in Jakarta, and get results coffee houses in Jakarta as a public space specifically providing ‘life’ only in building and forget about his role as public space in urban. Considered this problem, studied about type of coffee house in the European region, which can solve about giving a urban life. From these results, type about coffee house in European tried to be rearranged and combined with type coffee houses in Jakarta, which can contribute a urban life in Jakarta. AbstrakDengan jumlah yang paling dominan saat ini, generasi milenial adalah salah satu generasi dimana mempunyai pendapatan yang tinggi dibandingkan dengan generasi sebelumnya. Perubahan ini berdampak dalam gaya hidup, dimana salah satu gaya hidup yang dikaji dan dibatasi adalah gaya hidup ngopi. Perubahan gaya hidup ini mempengaruhi perubahan aktifitas masyarakat dalam menikmati kopi, sehingga rumah kopi yang ada khususnya di Jakarta mencoba beradaptasi dengan aktifitas ini. Terlepas dari itu, adaptasi rumah kopi yang ada di Jakarta juga lebih berorientasi pada budaya Amerika, dimana perannya pada masuknya rumah kopi di Jakarta khususnya pada era the second wave. Sehingga yang menjadi pertanyaan adalah apakah perubahan rumah kopi yang ada di Jakarta sesuai dengan definisi ruang publik dalam kota dimana dapat berkontribusi dalam memberikan kehidupan, khususnya dalam ruang kota. Sehingga untuk mempelajari lebih lanjut mengenai permasalahan tersebut, maka disini dicoba di pelajari bagaimana tipe rumah kopi yang ada khususnya di Jakarta, dan didapatkan hasil bahwa rumah kopi yang ada di Jakarta dijadikan ruang publik yang lebih hidup bersifat ‘kedalam’ bangunan saja, menyampingkan sebagai fungsi ruang publik khususnya memberikan kehidupan dalam ruang kota. Sehingga dengan demikian dicoba di pelajari tipe rumah kopi khususnya yang ada di bagian daerah Eropa, dimana mempunyai ciri khusus dapat berkontribusi dalam memberikan kehidupan khususnya pada ruang kota yang di tempatinya. Dari hasil ini kemudian dicoba disusun ulang dan dikombinasikan dengan tipe rumah kopi yang ada di Jakarta, sehingga diharapkan tipe rumah kopi yang ada di Jakarta dapat berperan memberikan kehidupan khususnya pada ruang kota.

Abstract Considering the exponential growth of technology and media in Iranian society as well as the significant role of media culture in reproducing, reinforcing, and legitimizing dominant ideologies such as sexism, the central question posed by this paper is how Iranian feminist activists critically analyze media messages. Further, this paper explores the extent to which this analysis fits the critical media literacy framework. Using a critical media literacy framework underpinned by feminist standpoint theory, this paper presents results from qualitative interviews with 15 Iranian feminist activists. We find that Iranian feminist activists focus more on politics of representation and critique of gender ideology in the critical analysis of media products. Thus, critical analysis of media by Iranian feminist activists better fits the definition of critical media literacy than its core concepts. The findings also demonstrate that a transformative dimension of critical media literacy is ignored by the feminist activists despite using media in the struggle against dominant gender ideology.

The Picamoixons site is a rockshelter located in the province of Tarragona (NE Iberian Peninsula). It was object of two rescue campaigns during 1988 and 1993, which led to the recovery of a complete archaeological assemblage, including stone tools as well as faunal and portable art remains that date the occupation to the 14th to 11th millennium BP (calibrated). This study involves a petrographic characterisation of the stone-tool assemblage in order to establish: 1) the procurement areas, 2) the raw materials management strategies and 3) the mobility radius and territorial sizes of the hunter-gatherers groups that occupied the site. The method applied comprises in a multiscale analysis that includes systematic prospection, the petrographic characterisation of geological and archaeological samples, an analysis of the chert types represented in the knapping sequence, and the definition of the mobility axes and areas frequented according to lithic procurement.A petrographic analysis of the chert in the prospected area led to the definition of nine macroscopic varieties related to five types (Vilaplana, Morera, Maset, Vilella and Tossa cherts), related to Lower and Upper Muschelkalk (Triassic), Lutetian, Bartonian (Palaeocene) and Sannonian (Oligocene) deposits.The study of the knapping sequences indicates the main exploitation of Bartonian cherts (Tossa type), and the use of Lutetian cherts (Maset and Morera types) for configuring retouched tools. The exploitation of the remaining raw material types identified is considered sporadic and opportunistic.Defining the procurement areas enabled the mobility radius to be assessed as between 3 and 30 km, highlighting the importance of the fluvial basins as natural movement pathways. The results indicate that the main procurement territory was 16 km2 in area, associable with a forager radius. The most remote procurement distances suggest a maximum exploitation area of 260 km2, defining an intra-regional range. This range presents parallelisms with various contemporaneous hunter-gatherers groups in Western Europe, suggesting a progressive mobility reduction dynamic during the Late Pleistocene-Initial Holocene.

The simple aim throughout this book is to ask questions of world festivals, as evidenced in recent advances in research about festivals. The ‘festivalisation of culture’ (Négrier, 2015) approach has seen an expansion in both qualitative and quantitative research in recent years. A few years ago, the research on festivals was going in three directions: a monographic approach (Autissier, 2008); an approach dominated by economic issues, management (Maughan and Bianchini, 2004; Bonet and Schargorodsky, 2012) or tourist attractiveness (Anderson and Getz, 2009); and an approach considering the festivals as peripheral, or exceptional, items of cultural policies. More recently, new opportunities emerged with the crossing of these three approaches with more artistic or aesthetic issues, as we can see in Focus on Festivals (Newbold et al, 2015). At the same time, the interest in the multi-dimensional nature of festivals opens up new questions about the relationship between festivals and public space (Giorgi et al, 2011). The identification of a world category of festival is both logical and paradoxical. It is logical, because, by their history, festivals, more than other cultural enterprises, were the levers for artistic exchange beyond national borders and beyond daily life (Falassi, 1987). Rather than the local and national institutions permanently installed in cities and artistic seasons, the programming of festival is still a powerful tool for the circulation of artists, for sharing tastes, and for cooperation between actors. The global nature of festivals is a substantial element of their dynamics, even if not all of them have the same degree of international openness. That’s why festivals seem to be not only in perfect harmony with the contemporary anthropological moment, but also a response to several ongoing issues of cultural policies: cultural democratisation (Négrier et al, 2010), the legitimisation of local authorities (Watermann, 1998), the transformation of artistic genres (Dowd et al, 2004), cultural diversity or European identity (Maggauda and Solaroli, 2011) or, more generally, territorial identity. The development of mega-events, as a new strategy of distinction for towns and cities, has become a particular research topic (Gold and Gold, 2005; Quinn, 2005; Van Aalst and Van Melik, 2012), not without a causing a critical current (Rojek, 2013). However the world category of festivals can also be paradoxical. Indeed, alongside the considerable growth of these events, the balance of studies about many of them shows how each festival has a singular story, and is always singularly local. Here we have the opportunity to illustrate this from the perspective of a particular event, the Eurockéennes de Belfort. But on this point, the example is widely generalisable. The research discussed in this chapter is based on a dual survey conducted four years apart (2010 and 2014), using the same quantitative and qualitative methods. It is part of a research programme about festivals that began, in France then in Europe, in 2006.

Important as it is, crisis has become the hallmark of the present era, making it necessary to confront, contain, and reduce its negative effects. As a science, crisis management is associated with responding to crises, and as an art, it is about making decisions under exceptional pressure in the absence of information. It also needs to follow methodical practices such as strategic thinking, strategic planning, and strategic management to ensure effectiveness. This chapter provides an overview of crisis management as a discipline, highlighting important aspects, such as the definition of crisis and related terms (accident, conflict, danger, and disaster), concepts, causes, and characteristics, and distinguishing between crisis management and management crisis in practice. The study also outlines a typical crisis life cycle and its phases (shock phase, regression phase, recognition phase, and adaptation phase). The research then moves to identifying crisis management strategies, defining preventive strategy technique, emphasizing the importance of effective strategic practices in crisis management, and minimizing their impact. The research concludes by proposing a model to increase the effectiveness of crisis management through effective strategic practices at the state level.
