Pedagogy, basic research, community service. These three phrases have rolled out of my pen time and time again, as 1 described successful and satisfying projects that have met all three goals. With this article we would like to discuss the limits of community-university collaboration in a certain kind of community service. Students and 1 have been engaged in various projects—collecting oral histories for a county's museum, interviewing retired coal miners to learn about the place of religion in their lives for a Coal Mining Heritage Association—that were very satisfying to all concerned. They were also innocuous from a power point of view. There was no power establishment fighting back.

Investing in university education has spread widely in Palestine and all counties around the world. ‎This is due to several causes, such as the enormous increase in the number of students, and the ‎growth in the number of students with various academic degrees, which resulted in increasing the ‎number of public and private universities, in addition to the institutes specialized in various ‎professional studies. Many of these universities seek to develop and raise their educational ‎competencies. Therefore, they started resorting to the so-called networking between universities. ‎Consequently, the study aimed to identify the reality of networking processes between universities ‎from the point of view of the teaching staff in the universities of Jerusalem and the West Bank. The ‎study also aims to point out the reality of teaching and academic exchange, the scientific research, ‎community service and the continued education from the point of view of the teaching staff in the ‎universities of Jerusalem and the West Bank. Also, it seeks to uncover the differences in the ‎networking processes between universities from the viewpoint of the teaching staff in the ‎universities of Jerusalem and the West Bank, according to the variables of gender, academic ‎qualification, years of experience, and university. ‎ To achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher used the analytical descriptive ‎approach, in addition to a questionnaire consisted of (35) paragraphs distributed over three fields: ‎teaching and academic exchange, scientific research, community service and continued education. ‎The validity and stability of the questionnaire had been confirmed. The questionnaire is distributed ‎over a sample from the faculty that were chosen randomly from the universities of Jerusalem ‎‎(Sakhnin, Al-Qasimi, Ono, David Yellen) and the West Bank (Arab American University, An-Najah ‎National University, Birzeit, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Al-Ahliyya Palestine, Al-Quds Open, Hebron), ‎numbering (200) individuals. After collecting the data, it was analysed through processing it ‎statistically by (SPSS). ‎ The results of the study indicated that the reality of teaching, academic exchange, scientific ‎research, community service and continuing education from the point of view of the teaching staff ‎in the universities of Jerusalem and the West Bank has come to a large extent. The results also ‎revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in the degree of reality of networking ‎operations between universities from the point of view of the teaching staff in the universities of ‎Jerusalem and the West Bank according to the variable of gender, academic qualification and years ‎of experience. However, the results indicated that there were differences according to the ‎differences among the universities‎‎.

Tracking maximum power point of a solar panel is of interest in most of photovoltaic applications. Solar panel modeling is also very interesting exclusively based on manufacturers data. Knowing that the manufacturers generally give the electrical specifications of their products at one operating condition, there are so many cases in which the specifications in other conditions are of interest. In this research, a comprehensive one-diode model for a solar panel with maximum obtainable accuracy is fully developed only based on datasheet values. The model parameters dependencies on environmental conditions are taken into consideration as much as possible. Comparison between real data and simulations results shows that the proposed model has maximum obtainable accuracy. Then a new fuzzy-based controller to track the maximum power point of the solar panel is also proposed which has better response from speed, accuracy and stability point of view respect to the previous common developed one.

Major CO2 emitters such as individual states of the USA, the People's Republic of China and the European Union continue to rely on emissions trading systems to reduce CO2 emissions. Against this background, this thesis examines four emissions trading systems in the USA. For this purpose, the legal and economic fundamentals of emissions trading are presented in detail. Subsequently, emissions trading systems are analyzed from an economic as well as a legal point of view based on criteria defined for this purpose and the results are embedded in the context of national and international law. For this purpose, the author conducts extensive basic research by processing the available emissions and trade data.

The Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) initiative is building an international network of researchers to improve our understanding of the biology underlying Parkinson's disease. Developing a better understanding of how the disease originates and progresses will, we hope, lead to new therapies. The ASAP initiative will incentivize collaboration between the existing PD research community and other researchers and will be committed to open-science practices.

Citizenship is generally understood as an adult experience. Being young is seen as a transitional stage between 'childhood' and 'adulthood ' where young people either learn about becoming adults or where they pass through certain 'rites of passage'. This paper draws on some of the findings from a larger project on citizenship and citizenship education experiences among student teachers in multi-ethnic Malaysia. This article attempts to explore the citizenship experiences through the student teachers participation during the community service placement and their understanding of good citizens in multi-ethnic culture. It also intends to explore the young generations’ point of view as being citizens of Malaysia, such as their rights and duties, how they perceived good and bad citizenship and how they understand the language of citizenship. In the spirit of ethnographic design, twenty eight multi-ethnic student teachers (year 2 and year 4) who enrolled into citizenship and citizenship education course in Sultan Idris Education University (SIEU) had been interviewed and observed at university and on placement. The data was analysed using a thematic analysis. The findings revealed that student teachers ‘lived citizenship’ marked comprehensive yet complex elements of citizenship. They have clear understandings of citizenship in ‘Malaysian way’ that pointed more towards communitarian than liberal or civic-republican citizenship paradigms. They drew clear distinctions between what it means to be a ‘good’ and a ‘bad ‘citizen’. They also underlined how everyday understandings of citizenship can have both inclusionary and exclusionary implications. Further study need to be done as some of student teachers faced difficulty articulating their rights than their responsibilities.
