The study aims at theoretical analysis and empirical identification of adaptive aspects of the social situation of adolescents' development to the new learning conditions. The article presents the materials of the first stage of the empirical study obtained on a sample of 1st-year students of the Moscow organization of secondary vocational education. The study involved 500 respondents aged 16 to 17 years, of which 92% were female. The study included measurements on 7 scales for 5-7 days. We used a projective closed method for assessing the formation of the components of educational activity (it includes two options: for boys and girls). The obtained data suggest that the natural process of adaptation of adolescents to the new conditions of college education is based on its complementary components. At the same time, entering a new situation of social development is accompanied by the emergence of a number of contradictions between the actual needs of a young person and the conditions for their satisfaction. The need to form a system of interpersonal relationships with both peers and significant adults (teachers) actualizes the need for self-affirmation, which is characteristic of the younger adolescence, the previous stage of personal development. The revealed contradiction leads to the formation of an uncertain professional picture of the world.

Children, brought up in foster families, experience various problems (diffi culties in interpersonal relationships with parents, diffi culties in communicating with peers, emotional instability), which lead to confl icts, quarrels, running away from home, destructive phenomena, etc. One of the eff ective forms of working with children brought up in foster families is individual counselling. Individual counselling is used by various specialists (psychologists, educators, psychotherapists), where a special place is taken by a social educator. His or her activity involves the implementation of social-protective, preventive, educational, informational, advisory functions. In the process of organizing individual counseling, the social educator takes into account the social situation of the family and the child, personal characteristics, social conditions, social and cultural characteristics and the nature of the relationship with the social environment. To organize individual counseling, a social educator needs to master various and eff ective techniques, and take into account a number of recommendations. An analysis of the literature and practical socio-pedagogical experience led to an understanding of the insuffi cient degree of elaboration of this issue. The purpose of this article was the solution to this problem.

Substantiated is the thesis for necessity and possibility of using the social cultural resources of Moscow city to establish an educational environment suitable for building intercultural communicative competence when teaching students foreign languages from the perspective of the intercultural approach. As a key point, the authors put forward the thesis that it is regional culture which is the only one available to the student to abide and understand by their national native culture (which comes equal with learning a foreign language culture within the goal-setting of intercultural foreign language education). At the same time, Moscow is grounded as a resource space for intercultural foreign language education, being a place for building the social environment and communication relations, the center of the regional level of native culture, and the city of intercultural communication. The authors define the related educational urbanistics as interdisciplinary field of designing socio-humanitarian knowledge and experience in the context of the mutually enriching integration of urban space and value-specific (educational) trajectories of personal development of the citizen. As a result, the authors formulate the basic principles of urban educational environment in the context of foreign language intercultural communicative training of students, including the following: knowledge of the universal (global) through the single (local), methodological work with space as a resource and a factor in educational activity design, taking an educational environment as an individually perceived value, designing individual educational trajectory on the basis of mapping, contextual learning, the priority of spontaneous meaning-making, a conscious distinction between education and vocational training.

The paper assesses the abilities of second-grade students for physical education activities, with the aim of developing their psychological and social attitudes that are necessary for their integration into the community. The design of the educational activity for the second grade, which is achieved through the means of dynamic games, aims at developing and educating psychomotor skills but also optimising the psychological and social attitudes needed to build the social behaviour of students. Participants in the research are 81 students aged 8 to 9 years. The sociometric method was used to assess the dynamic of the sociability level and the intensity of existing relationships between students in the physical education lesson in order to track the formation of their prosocial behaviour during the basic acquisition cycle. In this respect, two sociometric types of tests were designed (according to the model of Zlate, 1982), which were applied differently: a written assessment – a sociometric questionnaire; a written paper – the practice of the sociometric questionnaire, as well as a practical test – the dynamic game. After analysing and comparing the final data with the initial ones through the two tests following the didactic strategy, we can conclude that the interpersonal relationships between students have reached a level of social maturity in school, while the level of group cohesion is reflected in the unity of the group rather than the person.

The paper focuses on the importance of in-depth research (in particular, employing an algorithm developed by M.Yu. Kondratyev for defining integral status of an individual) on child-child interpersonal relationship in kindergarten groups. Although relationships with significant adults are by all means essential for preschool children, interpersonal relation- ships on the child-child level to a great extent shape the content of the social situation of development in general. Still, when it comes to revealing status and role position of the child in the structure of interpersonal relationships within the kindergarten group, there’s the challenge of defining informal intragroup structure of power in contact community (due to the age specifics). The paper suggests how this challenge may be addressed and provides a version of the technique suitable for preschoolers that helps overcome age restrictions implied by the original technique. Also, the paper reports on the outcomes of approbation of this version which proved its heuristic nature. For instance, the outcomes show a high degree of correlation between the results of kindergarten group members ranking in accordance with their influence upon peers carried out by teachers working in these groups.

In the context of the institutional transformation of education and the complication of the processes of its functioning and development in the information age, the problem of analyzing the self-assessment of educational success as a subjective regulator of human educational activity becomes of particular importance. The article examines the subjective assessment of success in formal education as a reflection of students' ideas about the degree of compliance with the system of institutional requirements through their acceptance / rejection. The analysis of the problems of educational success is bazed on the material of a large-scale sociological study of schoolchildren, students of secondary vocational education (SVE) and universities of the Sverdlovsk region (N = 2489 people). There were carried out the typologization of subjects of educational activity in accordance with the level of self-assessment of educational success; comparison of the types identified during the transition from one subsystem of education to another (school - secondary vocational education - university); determination of individual-personal and institutional contradictions and conflicts in the assessment of educational success as points of growth, the search for coordination of the needs and interests of the individual, on the one hand, and education as a social institution, on the other. The author comes to the conclusion that the self-assessment of educational success is a stable institutional construct that uniformly regulates educational activity at all stages of education, carrying out the process of differentiation of its subjects. At the same time, it can be dysfunctional in relation to the institution of education, its implementation of an adaptive, socio-cultural function, the function of professional self-determination. The results of the sociological study demonstrated that the institutionally formed model of self-assessment of success for educational communities in the current conditions is not optimal. Gradually transforming in accordance with the needs of students, the possibilities of the educational institution, the challenges of the time, it will have to change, creating conditions for broader prospects and diversity of the educational and professional future of students.
