Currently, the world educational community is actively discussing the problem of developing students’ universal competencies, flexible skills, or «soft skills». A global trend is indicated that requires young specialists to master the skills included in the definition of «soft skills», since a set of such skills and abilities allows you to effectively approach tasks and quickly adapt to changing environmental conditions. The application of these skills in everyday life is also actualized, which can help a person to be adaptive in changing conditions. Indicating the high demand and relevance of this issue, scientists note serious difficulties in using various approaches associated with the discrepancy and different use of the definitions of «soft skills». The purpose of this study was an attempt to systematize the concepts used and develop the author’s list of «soft skills», including: «creativity», «cooperation», «persuasion», «emotional intelligence», «adaptability».

The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the understanding of the phenomenon of tolerance in psychology and the determination of the characteristics and probable reasons for the manifestation of such a form as tolerance of indifference, which is currently the most widespread in the world, according to the authors of this article. It is stated that there are a lot of different interpretations of the concept of tolerance in the scientific literature and they continue with an awareness of the complexity, multidimensionality and dynamic nature of this phenomenon, however, instead of identifying what unites them, which is common for the definition of tolerance, scientists are focused on attempts to offer their own, more a good understanding of it, different from the existing ones. And this actually means the absence in science of the exact meaning of this word, as well as an understanding of what exactly, what psychological phenomenon it means. And the attempts of scientists to distinguish this concept from the concept of tolerance in no way facilitate the solution of the situation. It is suggested that tolerance and intolerance should not be opposed in the context of a "positive-negative" attitude, since these concepts are not mutually exclusive, and the manifestation of intolerance under certain circumstances can be a moral phenomenon, in contrast to tolerance. It is noted that the biggest problem and still unresolved issue of the psychology of tolerance is the definition of the boundaries of manifestation of tolerance, tolerant attitude towards another person and his actions. It is concluded that the limit of the manifestation of a tolerant attitude is violation / neglect of other norms of universal human morality; that in the modern world, tolerance is not always actively manifested, more often the tolerance of indifference dominates. And it is precisely this manifestation of tolerance that has a long history (philosophical and religious), which serves as a serious basis for modern manifestations of tolerance as indifference. Tolerance of indifference is a manifestation of a stable, not always conscious, indifferent attitude to various issues of human existence, which excludes both a person's assessment of the current situation and taking responsibility for its development. The tolerance of indifference was inherited by the post-Soviet countries from totalitarianism, but the modern information society, in part, involuntarily cultivates just this kind of tolerance, gradually leveling the axiological significance of a person's moral and existential values.

The idea of students’ worldview attitude application when forming educational content is proved in the article on the basis of scientific literature. In particular, it is claimed that any natural phenomenon can be comprehended, apparently, two-fold: either through its comparison to other beings or the phenomena, or through disclosure of its own unique nature. For example, studying the person "from the outside", assumes interpretation of the relations good fortune, the nature (space), society (culture), the law and other people. Approach to the secret of the person is accompanied by comprehension of his corporal, emotional, moral, spiritual and social life "from within". In many respects it depends on what methodology will be chosen by the researcher, and, the choice of methodology is connected with worldview attitude of the personality. In the publication definition of worldview attitude is given; briefly the essence of such worldviews as teocentrism, logocentrism, cosmocentrism, sociocentrism, anthropocentrism are revealed, as well as results of pilot study from students’ worldview attitude of higher education institution are presented. The obtained data demonstrate that in student's audience there are young people, with various worldview attitudes that can be used by the teacher in selecting subject content. The variety of approaches and views of natural and social processes and the phenomena allow forming an overall picture of the world in students of higher education institutions.

The article analyzes what ethnolinguistic information about rye can be read in the entries of Lithuanian dialect dictionaries. The research data were selected from thirteen dictionaries of Lithuanian dialects and the comprehensive Lietuvių kalbos žodynas (Dictionary of the Lithuanian Language). Thus, dialectal dictionaries are an excellent source of lexical semantic research based on the research methodology of the linguistic image of the world. The research presented in the article was inspired by the Słownik stereotypόw i symboli ludowych (SSiSL) (Dictionary of Folk Stereotypes and Symbols) published by the Lublin Ethnolinguistic School. An attempt is being made to find an answer to the question whether rugys (rye) is just a source of food and a basis for biological existence for Lithuanian farmers and rural residents? It is assumed that rye is synonymous with bread as a gift from God to farmers. According to folklore sources, people sacrificed the best stook of rye to God. According to the tradition of the Polish people, rye is a symbol of abundance, wealth, kindness; according to the tradition of the Lithuanians it is a symbol of growth, vitality, fertility and endurance.Analyzing the data of Lithuanian dialect dictionaries and the Dictionary of the Lithuanian Language it was established that the lexeme rye is used in various parts of lexicographic articles: 1) as a title word in dictionary entries; 2) in definitions and illustrative sentences; 3) in the illustrations of entries of other words (for example, crops, grain, shoot, winter crops); 4) in terminological compounds (e. g. African rye (Secale africanum), annual cereal (Secale cereale), cereal grass (Secale sylvestre); 5) in paremias; 6) in phraseological compounds. The lexicographic definition of the lexeme rye highlights the following features of the category: a plant, eared (various properties: winter crop, upright, strong, dense, etc.), a symbol of everyday life. The illustrative examples of the words reflect man’s respect for rye as a plant that gives bread.

The purpose of this article is to show the reception of the educational views of John Ruskin (1819–1900) presented in Polish scientific literature at the turn of the XIX and XX century. John Ruskin was an great English writer, poet, painter and critic of art and social reality. Ruskin’s oeuvre, contained in numerous writings, is the result of admiration for the world, reflection on landscapes, art and timeless values: truth, goodness and beauty; he’s works are characterized by individualism, momentum, normativity, and literary style full digression. For Ruskin, there is no clear definition of education and the educational system. Educational process itself is described in general terms. Ruskin’s beliefs about art and society are connected with the issue of children’s raising. The article contains numerous quotes – from the publications of Polish authors, translations and original Ruskin’s works – enriching the exemplification of the problem outlined in the subject of this article. Ruskin’s thoughts can be found in the foundations of progressive pedagogy and active pedagogy. For this reason, it is worth to consider the issue of the reception of educational views of Ruskin presented in Poland in years 1897–1936.

After studying the theoretical sources related to the topic the author of research comes to the conclusion that the notion of risk as a systematic phenomenon was not paid sufficient attention in existing scientific literature. Problem: An insufficient state of knowledge of the phenomenon of risk in Latvian psychological science, taking into consideration its multifacetedness, which is confirmed by the researches both in Psychology and in other sciences. The researchers of risk hitherto have not come to agreement of opinion even in the sphere of the definition of the risk notion itself, which requires the theoretical cooperative analysis of existing concepts. The author pays particular attention to the factor of social instability in Latvia and in the world, which is the determinant for risk both in social environment and in behaviour of an individual. Aim: operationalization and systematization of the 'risk' notion, its theories and concepts, as well as of the notions related or interdisciplinary connected to 'risk' notion. Tasks: implementing the comparative theoretical study of the existing concepts of risk, tracing the dynamics of the 'risk' notion formation in Psychology, carrying out the analysis of the risk study results in the fields of scientific knowledge that are related or interdisciplinary connected to Psychology. Method: theoretical comparative analysis. Output: Both classical and modern researches on risk and correlating phenomena under the situation of social instability were analysed and systematized. Summary: Risk has a multifaceted and multi-determinant nature, which stipulates its study by many sciences and makes it possible to talk of its interdisciplinary discourse. In Psychology it has rather rich research tradition, which is represented both by classical and modern researches. The researchers of risk have not come to agreement on the definition of risk, and there are divergences in its interpretation. Scientists agree, that risk has a number of features (uncertainty, alternativity, situation of evaluation, etc.), as well as is determined by many factors (age, gender, social status, personal attitude etc.). It was that discovered that insufficient attention has been paid to the study of this phenomenon in Latvia. Risk has been studied in Social psychology, but the existing view on risk in that sphere seems to author to be not complete, pixelated, taking into consideration the systematization law within the interaction of the elements of social medium.

Whatever may be our definition of education it surely must in some way help the student toward a fuller and happier life—a life more abundant. The oldest thing in the world is life and therefore it is the one thing that holds our interest through all our years. Life is the application of all that we know and are and feel and whether we admit it or not any sort of formal education is the incidental thing and all classes of students make it so in spite of pedagogic pressure— and it is so. Practical applications, therefore, are reasonable, first of all because of the vital interest they afford. Any subject is most efficiently taught under those conditions which provide the maximum interest on the part of the student, and this is always obtained through some form of actual contact or association with the real things of everyday life. We all know that arithmetic, algebra, geometry, etc., are means and not ends, but we do not teach them that way.

The purpose of the article is to typologize terminological definitions of security, to find out the general, to identify the originality of their interpretations depending on the subject of legal regulation. The methodological basis of the study is the methods that made it possible to obtain valid conclusions, in particular, the method of comparison, through which it became possible to correlate different interpretations of the term "security"; method of hermeneutics, which allowed to elaborate texts of normative legal acts of Ukraine, method of typologization, which made it possible to create typologization groups of variants of understanding of the term "security". Scientific novelty. The article analyzes the understanding of the term "security" in various regulatory acts in force in Ukraine. Typological groups were understood to understand the term "security". Conclusions. The analysis of the legal material makes it possible to confirm that the issues of security are within the scope of both legislative regulation and various specialized by-laws. However, today there is no single conception on how to interpret security terminology. This is due both to the wide range of social relations that are the subject of legal regulation and to the relativity of the notion of security itself and the lack of coherence of views on its definition in legal acts and in the scientific literature. The multiplicity of definitions is explained by combinations of material and procedural understanding, static - dynamic, and conditioned by the peculiarities of a particular branch of legal regulation, limited ability to use methods of one or another branch, the inter-branch nature of some variations of security, etc. Separation, common and different in the definition of "security" can be used to further standardize, in fact, the regulatory legal understanding of security to more effectively implement the legal regulation of the security direction.
