The problems faced by teenagers in recent times have focused more on various delinquency committed by teenagers ranging from drug problems, brawls, bullying cases and other problems. The increasing number of problems faced by adolescents indicates the lack of attention from parents and society to the development of adolescent character. Facing this problem, one solution that can be used is to strengthen the character of youth through character education. Character education is considered the best choice in preparing future generations because it can be both preventive and curative. In this community service program, the training method is used to convey the basics of character education. This Character Personality Training Program aims to invite teenagers to recognize their potential and be able to interact well with their social environment. This training program was given to 30 teenagers who are members of the Padang Japang Mosque Youth Association (IRMPJ). The results of the training show that there is an understanding of adolescents about the importance of understanding themselves and having good character in socializing. Besides that, a continuous program is also needed so that the stages of the material provided can be carried out perfectly.

Literacy cannot be separated from the world of education. Literacy refers to the ability to solve problems and achieve life goals by using text as the primary medium, orally, and in writing. Literacy activities are part of the character education process through reading and writing skills. This means that character education can be obtained through reading and writing, for example, short stories. By reading and writing short stories, it is hoped that Indonesian students will be nurtured to become religious, integrity, nationalist, independent, and have cooperation. Besides, short stories that have been written can be sent to the mass media and become one of the coffers of income for students. On this basis, this community service proposal is aimed at developing a culture of literacy among students as well as building an entrepreneurial spirit by sending short stories to mass media

Schools must recognize that school culture has an effect on the development of character in students. With the prevalence of numerous character flaws among students, it is expected that through school culture, students will be able to form their character through a school-based habit. Teachers at SMK Swasta Teladan in Tanah Jawa, Simalungun Regency, were the recipients of this community service. Thirty-three teachers were among those who took part in the socialization. This was a qualitative research project with a descriptive approach. The approaches used in this case are lectures and group discussions, with information being given first, followed by a question and answer session about the material. The service partner is the TPQ Silastra Condong Catur, Darul Falah TPQ Maguwo Harjo Maguwo Harjo, TPA Al-Huda Caturtunggal, Yogyakarta. The reason for determining the proposed object problem is the background of the problems that arise in the lack of use of the Al-Quran Education Park (TPA) as the center of religus character education. The solution proposed by the dedication team was to integrate the Al-Quran reading and writing learning with the values of religious characters to the santri. The method used by the service team is consultation, mentoring, and training. The contribution proposed by the dedication team is for TPA to maximize the role of TPA in religious character education. For santri, they can get additional knowledge. For the community, they can support the efforts to cultivate religious character education. The conclusion is that the existence of TPA is still essential in society as a place of education for children.

AbstractIn this article, I describe a methodological model I used in a experimental study on how to integrate character within the practice of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) at the higher education Indonesia. This research can be added to research about character education and CLIL in tertiary education, giving nuances to the practice of CLIL so far predominantly a practice in primary and secondary schools. The research was conducted in Semarang State University, in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, in Sociology of Religion bilingual class. The research indicates that the integration of character within CLIL enrich the perspective of CLIL by strengthening the use of CLIL for intellectual growth and moral development. On the other side, the use of CLIL with character education gives methods and perspectives to the practice of character education which so far only emphasise contents reforms without learning methods reforms. The research also reveals that the weakness of CLIL in using text for classroom learning can be overcome by the use of specific reading and writing strategies. I develop a practical text strategy which can be effectively used in highly conceptual subject such as sociology of religion. 2013 Universitas Negeri Semarang

This community service activity aims to train teachers to make learning media in the form of pictorial stories with children's literary content. This article is a case study of community service at the Nakula Gugus Teacher Working Group in Wonogiri, Central Java. Children's literature in this context is defined as a medium that is used as an intermediary to convey a form of character education for children. Apart from this, children's literature is considered an appropriate medium because it is able to attract students' interest through visual and narrative forms. Children's literature is also able to have more appeal if from the beginning it comes from ideas that are owned by the children themselves. This will stimulate a sense of ownership and logic to the things that the story structure wants to instill. The method used is lectures and discussions, then in the form of workshops on picture story books. The result of this community service is a picture book with a theme that is close to children related to the use of gadgets, which are then given the title Playing with Friends.
