This study aims to describe the linguistic form in the speech of the Muhammadiyah Surakarta University of Indonesia (MPBI-UMS) Master of Indonesian Language students who portray themselves as junior high school principals. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences in the speeches of students acting as principals. The source of research data is in the form of student speech transcripts. The data collection technique uses the technique to see and note. The data analysis technique uses the equivalent and final method, while the data validity technique uses theory and source validation. The results in the study show that in the speech of Indonesian language education students the graduate school master's program of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta covers five fields. First, the field of phonology includes (a) 10 forms of pronunciation error, (b) two forms of capital letters misuse, (c) five forms of italics, and (d) six forms of spelling writing errors. Second, morphology is found in five prepositions. Third, the field of syntax includes (a) four forms of pleonasm errors, (b) four forms of conjunction errors, and (c) four forms of misuse of the redundant word. Fourth, the field of pragmatics includes (a) one form of implicature, (b) one form of expressive speech acts, and (c) two forms of directive speech acts. Fifth, the field of sosiolinguistics includes (a) five forms of code switching, and (b) two forms of code mixing. Sixth, nonformal variety fields are found in one form.

This study aims to describe the impoliteness of directive speech acts in online Indonesian language learning. The data collection technique in this study used the observation, note, and record technique. The object of this research was the analysis of directive speech act impoliteness. The data analysis technique used in this study was a data triangulation model. The study results indicate an impoliteness of directive speech acts on Indonesian language learning conducted by the teacher. The teacher unintentionally performed impoliteness on the directive speech acts. The first data found that the teacher asked all the students to pay attention impolitely. The second data showed that the teacher as a speaker prohibits students from taking attendance. The third data showed that the teacher used the impolite directive speech acts when saying the utter "unnecessary" and "you pay less attention" to the students who forgot to attend the class. The data (3a) above includes the impoliteness of the directive speech act of the requesting because it does not contain politeness elements that can smooth speech. Data (4a) The teacher asks students who are not members to leave the WhatsApp group, but the teacher does not use soft sentences. Data (5a) stated that the teacher instructs the students to cut the paper using a cutter and make lines on it . Next, the data (5b) stated the teacher asks students to look at the learning material using impoliteness directive speech acts. Data (5c) stated that the teacher instructs students not to forget to fill the attendance. Data (6a) stated the teacher asks students to join the google classroom but does not use polite sentences. The data includes the directive speech act of the requesting marked with the word beg. Data (7a) Teachers require students to have sufficient quotas when participating in learning Indonesian online. This study aims to describe the types of illocutionary speech and the value of character education in the speech on the video podcast of Deddy Corbuzier with Syekh Ali Jaber. This type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Sources of research data are utterances spoken by Deddy Corbuzier, Syekh Ali Jaber, and Gus Mifta in Deddy Corbuzier's Podcast video with Syekh Ali Jaber on Deddy Corbuzier youtube channel. The research data is in the form of sentences that reflect illocutionary speech acts and the value of character education. The data collection technique is done by using observation technique. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model, which includes the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The results showed: (1) types of illocutionary speech acts include assertive, directive, commissive, and expressive speech acts. (2) The value of character education includes the character of social care, religion, honesty, tolerance, love for the country, creativity, democracy, and love peace. Based on the findings, the dominant character education value in the speech activity is the value of religious character. This can happen, because it is influenced by the background of the speaker and the context of the speech.

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan karakteristik kebahasaan teks pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP, dan (2) mendeskripsikan implementasi karakteristik kebahasaan teks pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP sebagai bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia di SMP. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat yang terdapat dalam pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP. Sumber data penelitian berupa wacana pidato mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik simak dan catat. Untuk menganalisis data penelitian ini digunakan teknik padan referensial dan padan fonetis artikulatoris, teknik perluasan dalam metode agih, dan teknik baca markah. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa karakteristik kebahasaan dalam teks pidato mahasiswa yang berperan menjadi guru BP  terdapat enam bidang, yakni (1) bidang ragam non-formal, (2) bidang sosiolinguistik yang meliputi campur kode dan alih kode, (3) bidang sintaksis terdiri dari pleonasme, konjungsi, dan kata mubadzir, (4) bidang fonologi meliputi kesalahan epentesis dan kesalahan pengucapan bunyi atau pelafalan bunyi, (5) bidang morfologi yang meliputi proses afiksasi prefiks me-, kata keterangan jumlah dan derajat, kata keterangan tempat, keterangan akibat (keterangan konsekuatif), kata depan pada dipakai jika diikuti kata keterangan waktu, dan penggunaan kata depan kepada, dan repetisi, dan (6) bidang pragmatik yaitu interjeksi. Kata kunci: Karakteristik kebahasaan, pidato, guru BP   Abstract This study aims (1) to describe the linguistic characteristics​​in the speeches of students who act as BP teachers and (2) to describethe implementation the linguistic characteristics ​​in the speeches of students who act as BP teachers. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method. The research data are in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences contained in student speeches which play the role of becoming BP teachers. The source of research data is in the form of student speech discourse. The data collection technique uses the technique to see and note. To analyze this research data used referential equivalent techniques and articulatory phonetics, extension techniques in the method of religion, and marking reading techniques. The results of this study found that the linguistic form ​​in the speeches of students who act as BP teachers. This research method uses a qualitative ​​in the speech of students acting as BP teachers had six fields, namely (1) non-formal variety fields, (2) sociolinguistic fields which included code mixing and code switching, (3) syntactic fields consisting of pleonasms, conjunctions, and the word mubadzir, (4) the field of phonology includes episodes of errors and pronunciation of sounds or pronunciation of sounds, (5) the field of morphology which includes the affixation process of the prefix, adverbs of number and degrees, place adverbs, statements of consequences (consequential information), the preposition used if followed by the adverb of time, and the use of the preposition for, and repetition, and (6) the field of pragmatics, namely interjection. This study aimed to describe the form of teacher directive speech acts in learning Indonesian at SMA Negeri 2 Gunung Talang. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive method. The research data used is the teacher's speech in learning Indonesian at SMA Negeri 2 Gunung Talang. The data source is Mrs. Indra Dewi as an Indonesian teacher at SMA Negeri 2 Gunung Talang. The data collection technique used the free-of-conversation listening technique. Data analysis techniques are listening, understanding, organizing, categorizing, connecting between categories, and interpreting data based on the context. The results of this study contained five forms of directive speech acts, namely requesting speech, wishing speech, commanding speech, welcome speech, and asking speech. The utterance asks to be reviewed from the words "please" and "come on." Speeches of hope are viewed from the word "hope" or "hope." Speech orders are reviewed from the words "try" and "quick." Speech please viewed from the word "please." Asking utterances are viewed from the words "what," "who," and "how."

In learning Japanese, understanding Japanese text is included in the Dokkai course. Dokkai is one of the compulsory courses that students of the Japanese language education study program, Padang State University, have to take for approximately 3 years or 6 semesters. The Japanese text does not use romaji letters, but uses 3 different types of letters, namely hiragana, katakana and kanji which make Japanese text difficult to understand. The large number of Japanese language education study program students in 2018 experienced difficulties in understanding Japanese language texts. The purpose of this study is to describe the difficulties of students in understanding Japanese text. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. The sample used in the study was 39 students. The data collection technique in this study used a questionnaire and used a Likert scale formula. While the data analysis technique is descriptive with a percentage. The results of this study found the difficulties experienced by students, among others, the sub-indicator of kanji with a percentage of 74.35%. In the linguistic indicator, students have difficulty with the vocabulary sub-indicator with a percentage of 63.7%, sentence patterns with a percentage of 64% and meaning with a percentage of 61.7%. Then in the indicator of student spelling and sound patterns, only difficulty in the sub-indicator voicing/intonation in reading with a percentage of 63.6%.

<p class="Default" align="center">Abstrac</p><p class="Default" align="center"> </p><p class="Default">The politeness in directive speech act is an important thing in teaching and learning interactions. Therefore, it is necessary to study to the use of directive speech acts spoken by teachers and students in teaching and learning interactions. This study aimed to describe the forms, functions, and causative factors of the politeness in directive speech act in teaching and learning interactions at SMP Negeri  4 Sungai Penuh.</p><p class="Default">This research is a qualitative-descriptive research using the technique of <em>Simak Bebas Libat Cakap</em>. Data were collected by recording and questionnaire. The theory used as the basis for analyzing the politeness in directive speech act in this research was the pragmatic theory of Searle, Yule George (1996), Geoffrey Leech (1993), Abdul Chaer (2010), and Ibrahim (1993).</p><p class="Default">The results showed that the forms of the politeness in directive speech act in teaching and learning interactions at 4 Public Junior High School Sungai Penuh were the forms of requests, questions, orders, prohibitions, giving permission and advice. The functions of the politeness in directive speech act were the functions of asking, requesting, willing, prohibiting, pressing, directing, allowing, instructing, advising, suggesting, demanding, inviting, requiring, and forgiving. The causative factors of the politeness in directive speech act were the context, intonation, social institutions, diction, topics of conversation, and language style.</p>

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kekerasan verbal yang terdapat pada naskah drama. Kekerasan verbal adalah bentuk kekerasan menggunakan kata-kata yang bisa menyakiti hati seseorang. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Sumber data berupa naskah drama “Perang Banjar Hampir Berakhir” Karya H. Adjim Arijadi dan data berupa kutipan kata dan kalimat dialog dalam naskah drama yang mengandung unsur kekerasan verbal. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori pragmatik tindak tutur direktif dan ekspresif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan teknik catat, yaitu mencatat hasil temuan kekerasan verbal dalam naskah drama kemudian tahap pengolahan data dilakukan dengan aktivitas reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, menunjukkan bahwa tuturan yang paling banyak ditemukan yaitu pada tuturan yang mengandung kekerasan verbal bentuk mencela sebanyak 9 tuturan, sedangkan fungsi menolak yang paling banyak ditemukan pada tindak tutur direktif sebanyak 9 tuturan, dan fungsi rasa tidak senang yang paling banyak ditemukan pada tindak tutur ekspresif sebanyak 8 tuturan. This study aims to describe the verbal violence contained in drama scripts. Verbal abuse is a form of violence using words that can hurt someone. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data sources are in the form of a drama script “The Banjar War Almost Ending” by H. Adjim Arijadi and the data are quotations of words and dialogue sentences in the drama script that contain elements of verbal violence. The theory used is the pragmatic theory of directive and expressive speech acts. The data collection technique uses note-taking techniques, namely recording the findings of verbal violence in a drama script and then the data processing stage is carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that 9 utterances that contain verbal violence in the form of censure are mostly found, while the function of rejecting is mostly found in directive speech acts as many as 9 utterances, and the function of displeasure is mostly found in actions expressive speech in 8 speeches.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) bentuk tindak tutur ilokusi, dan (2) jenis tindak tutur ilokusi di CNN Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskripsi kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah tuturan yang diucapkan oleh Ridwan Kamil pada acara talkshow insight di CNN Indonesia periode 2017-2018. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik simak bebas libat cakap (SBLC) dan teknik catat. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri (human instrument). Instrumen penelitian kemudian divalidasi oleh expert judgment. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode padan pragmatis dan metode agih. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat ditarik dua simpulan. Pertama, bentuk tindak tutur ilokusi yang ditemukan berupa deklaratif, imperatif, dan interogatif. Kedua, jenis tindak tutur ilokusi yang ditemukan berupa asertif, direktif, komisif, dan ekspresif.Kata kunci: pragmatik, tindak tutur, ilokusi, dan talkshow. ABSTRACT This study aims to describe (1) the form of illocutionary speech acts, and (2) the types of illocutionary speech acts on CNN Indonesia. This research is a type of qualitative description research. The data source in this study is the utterances uttered by Ridwan Kamil on talkshow insights on CNN Indonesia for the 2017-2018 period. The data collection technique in this study is the skillful free listening technique (SBLC) and note taking technique. The research instrument used in this study was the researcher himself (human instrument). The research instrument was then validated by expert judgment. The data analysis technique in this study uses the pragmatic equivalent method and the agih method. Based on data analysis, two conclusions can be drawn. First, the forms of illocutionary speech acts found are declarative, imperative, and interrogative. Second, the types of illocutionary speech acts found were assertive, directive, commissive, and expressive.

<p><em>This study aims to find out the types of directive speech act and politeness strategies</em><em> </em><em>used in Satu Jam Lebih Dekat talk show on TVOne. The method used in this article is descriptive</em><em> </em><em>method which describe the data systematically, factually, and accurately. The uninvolved</em><em> </em><em>conversation observation technique was used in collecting data in which this means that the present</em><em> </em><em>writer does not involve in the dialogues.</em><em> </em><em>Meanwhile, for data analysis technique, the present writer</em><em> </em><em>used pragmatic competence-in-dividing. The main theory of this article is the pragmatic theory of</em><em> </em><em>Searle’s Speech Act and Brown and Levinson’s Politeness Strategy. The results indicate that the types of directive speech act of Satu Jam Lebih Dekat program are to please, to request,</em><em> </em><em>to ask, to</em><em> </em><em>order, to invite, to forbid, to convince, to obligate, to show, to hope, to want, to warn, to advise, and</em><em> </em><em>to request. In addition, the politeness strategies are bald on</em><em> </em><em>record, positive politeness, negative</em><em> </em><em>politeness, and off record. <em>The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the form of directive speech acts in JK Rowling's Harry Potter novels year 1 and 2, (2) the form of language politeness, (3) the relevance of the Harry Potter novelsyear 1 and 2 in Indonesian language learning to students in middle school. The data collection technique used in this study was purposive sampling and data analysis used an interactive analysis model. The results of this study indicate that the form of directive speech acts and compliance with the principles of politeness contained in the Harry Potter novels year 1 and 2 by J. Rowling are  as follows: (1) speech acts; requests, questions, rules, prohibitions, granting permits, and directive forms of counseling which numbered 419 data; (2) compliance with the principles of teacher and student politeness during the learning process is found as many as 118 data; (3) Harry Potter novels year 1 and 2 by J. K. Rowling are related to literary learning in junior high schools.</em>
