This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning (PBL) on the scientific argumentation of class X students at Senior High School in Indralaya, Indonesia, on biodiversity education. The research method was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group research design. This research was conducted in class X-science-3 (n=33) as an experiment and X-science 4 (n=33) as a control at Senior High School in Indralaya, Indonesia. The data collection instrument was a test question that included scientific argumentation skills in essay questions and recorded class discussions. Data on writing scientific arguments are analyzed using cohesion and coherence, sentence effectiveness, concept correctness, critical analysis of problems and problem-solving. Data on the ability of scientific argumentation in writing and oral are also analyzed based on Toulmin's claim, data, warrant, backing, rebuttal, and qualifier. Furthermore, based on the Toulmin aspect, the students' quality level of scientific argumentation is determined. The result showed that the level of argumentation quality of students who applied the PBL model was mainly at level 3, while the control class was mainly at level 1. The effect being studied is significant. The PBL can significantly influence the ability of scientific argumentation in class X students at senior high school in Indralaya, Indonesia.

It was a correlational research studying about educator professionality (X variable) and education quality (Y variable) at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Pekanbaru.  This research aimed at knowing educator professionality level, education quality level, and the correlation between educator professionality and education quality at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Pekanbaru.  The samples were 46 educators at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Pekanbaru that met the requirements of professional educators—educator competence, qualification of education, and certification.  The data were analyzed by using Pearson product moment correlational formula.  Based on the analysis, it showed that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted.  It meant that there was a positive and significant correlation between educator professionality and education quality at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Pekanbaru.  It could be seen from the comparison between robserved 0.694 and rtable 0.361 at 5% significant level with N that was 46, so robserved was higher than rtable (0.694>0.361).  The result of linear regression coefficient showed that the probability score or the significance score 0.000 was lower than 0.05 (0.000<0.05).  Based on the determination coefficient, it was obtained the score 0.482 or 48.2% and it was rounded up to 48%.  It meant that the contribution of educator professionality variable to education quality variable at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Pekanbaru was 48%, and the rest was influenced by other variables that were not explained in this research.  So, the professional educators could increase the quality of education.

AbstractThis research was instigated by the low of  student chemistry learning achievement at the eleventh grade of MIPA of State Senior High School 3 Dumai. Therefore, it was conducted an Experimental research with pretest and posttest design. This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing Problem Based Learning model with Chemimagz media toward student learning achievement on Hydrocarbon lesson. The subjects of this research were the eleventh-grade students of MIPA in the Academic Year of 2017/2018. The samples of this research were the eleventh-grade students of MIPA 1 as the Experimental group and the students of MIPA 2 as the Control group. The data in this research were collected by using observation, preliminary data test that was homogeneity test, final data tests that were pretest and posttest, and documentation. Kp formula was used to know the effect of implementing the model toward learning achievement. The difference effect was analyzed by using Paired Sample t-test. Based on the data analysis of preliminary and final data, it was obtained that tobserved was 2,267 and ttable was 2,002 at 5% significant level. tobserved was higher than ttable, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It meant that there was an effect of impelenting Prblem Based Learning model with Chemimagz media toward student learning achievement on Hydrocarbon lesson at the eleventh grade of MIPA of State Senior High School 3 Dumai, and the effect was 8,27%.Keywords: Learning Achievement, Problem Based Learning, Chemimagz, Hydrocarbon

Biology was a branch of Natural Sciences (IPA) that studies living things and life. Biology learning will be more meaningful when learning can be done outside the classroom. The results of observations conducted at Jakenan Senior High School, showed that biology learning activities more often use student textbooks. This causes students to be less active in expressing their opinions because they only listen to the teacher's explanation. One model that can be applied to the material of environmental change was the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of PBL learning models on student learning outcomes and environmental care attitudes on material changes in the environment. The research population was used all students of class X Science at Jakenan Senior High School in the academic year 2017/2018. The research design used Quasi experimental with the Nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique uses purposive. So that we got class X IPA 1 as the control of class and class X IPA 3 as the experimental of class. Cognitive learning outcomes were obtained from the pretest-posttest score. Scores of students' environmental care attitudes were obtained from the questionnaire scale of environmental care attitudes. While psychomotor learning outcomes were obtained from students' psychomotor assessment sheets. The results of the analysis of research data with t-test showed that learning outcomes and environmental care attitudes of students in the experimental of class differ significantly compared to the control of class. While the results of the n-gain test on cognitive learning results show the average value of n-gain in the experimental class was 0.68 higher than the control of class which was 0.48. The results of this study indicate that the application of the PBL model to the material of environmental change was effective towards learning outcomes and environmental care attitudes of high school students.

The objectives of this study were to find out whether or not there was a significant improvement before and after the treatment on the eleventh grade students’ reading comprehension scores at one Islamic senior high school in Palembang by using Subtext strategy and to find out whether or not there was a significant difference on the eleventh grade students’ reading comprehension scores between the students who were taught by using Subtext Strategy and those who were not. In this study, Quasi Experimental Design using pretest-posttest nonequivalent groups design was used. There were 60 students taken as sample. Each class consisted of 30 students from class XI IPS 2 as control group and class XI IPS 3 as experimental group. In collecting the data, reading comprehension test was used. The test was given twice to both experimental and control groups, as a pretest and posttest. To verify the hypotheses, the data of pretest and posttest were analyzed by using independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test in SPSS program. The findings showed that the p-output from paired sample t-test (sig2-tailed) was 0.000 which was lower than 0.05 and t-value 11.399 was higher than t-table with df=29 (2.0452).  The result of p-output from independent sample t-test was 0.001 which was lower than 0.05, and the t-value 3.465 was higher than t-table with df=58 (2.0017). It means that teaching reading narrative text by using Subtext strategy had significant effect on the students’ reading comprehension scores.

The aim of the research was to know the effect of implementation of problem-based learning model on students' physics achievement and critical thinking. The research was a quasi-experimental using a pre-test-post-test control group design. It was conducted at a state senior high school in Indonesia. The data were collected by a students' physics achievement test, a students' critical thinking test, and an observation sheet. The data were analysed by calculating normalized gain scores and hypothesis testing by using MANOVA with the significance level of .05 as criterion. The research results indicated that the average gain scores for students' physics achievement of the experimental and control groups were respectively .63 and .32, the average gain scores for students' critical thinking of the experimental and control groups were respectively .49 and .34, and a value of p is .0001 was obtained from the MANOVA calculation so that it is concluded that such learning as that in the experimental group is better in comparison with such learning as that in the control group. The results of this research are expected to increase insight and knowledge of teachers in implementing the learning process in the classroom so as to apply varied learning models. <p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This study aims to determine the implementation of PBL-based modules with the SQ3R Method (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review). The research method used was a quasi-experimental nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest design in class X IPA in Public High School 8 Kediri. The results of the study stated that the implementation of learning using PBL-based modules with the SQ3R method could increase the mean score of post-literacy science and environmental care attitude in the biodiversity material of class X IPA.</p><p><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi modul berbasis <em>Problem Based Learning</em> dengan Metode SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen <em>nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest design</em> pada kelas X IPA di SMA Negeri 8 Kediri. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa implementasi pembelajaran dengan menggunakan modul berbasis PBL dengan metode SQ3R dapat meningkatkan rerata nilai postes literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan pada materi keanekaragaman hayati siswa kelas X IPA.</p>

The prevalence of anemia in adolescent girls junior and senior high school in Mamuju is 27%. This study to determine the effect of nutritional counseling and suplementation iron tablets to knowledge and hemoglobin ( Hb ) status of senior high school student in West Sulawesi. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design using non- randomized control group pretest-posttest. Samples of the intervention group were 30 students and a control group of 30 students. Student knowledge was measured using questionnaires and hemoglobin concentration using hemoglobinometer. Analysis using Wilcoxon Test, Paired Sample T-Test and Independent T Test. The results showed the results of this study showed no difference in the increase in knowledge after counseling, while the suplementation of iron tablets contained elevated levels of hemoglobin

The results of the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (SDKI) revealed that around 2% of young women aged 15-24 and 8% of young men in the same age range had sexual relations before marriage. Teenagers in Central Java who have received reproductive health and premarital sex education are only 31.4%. So health education is provided with video on teenager knowledge about premarital sex. To analyze the effect of health education with video toward teenagers knowledge about premarital sex at Al-Mas'udiyyah Senior High School in Bandungan, Semarang district 2019. The study design used was quasi experimental pre and post test design without a control group. The population was the whole of grade X students 103 students.  24 students were taken as the sample of this research. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test by SPSS data version 16. Before being given the knowledge health education of teenagers in sufficient categories as many as 21 respondents (87.5%), after being given teenagers knowledge health education in the good category increased to 24 respondents (100%). There is effect between the provision of health education with video on teenager knowledge about premarital sex. There is an influence between the provision of health education with video on teenager knowledge about premarital sex at Al-Mas'udiyyah Senior High School in Bandungan, Semarang District. It is hoped that schools can provide health education with video so that they do not make students bored and can be more active in learning. ABSTRAK Hasil Survei Demografi dan Kesehatan Indonesia (SDKI) 2017 mengungkap sekitar 2% remaja wanita usia 15-24 tahun dan 8% remaja pria di rentang usia yang sama, telah melakukan hubungan seksual sebelum menikah. Remaja di Jawa Tengah mendapatkan penyuluhan kesehatan reproduksi dan seks pranikah hanya 31,4%. Sehingga diberikan pendidikan kesehatan dengan media video tentang seks pranikah. Untuk menganalisa pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan dengan media video terhadap pengetahuan remaja tentang seks pranikah di SMA Al-Mas’udiyyah Kecamatan Bandungan Kabupaten Semarang Tahun 2019. Desain yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental pre and post test design tanpa kelompok kontrol. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa – siswi kelas X SMA Al-Mas’udiyyah yang berjumlah 103 siswa dengan jumlah sampel 24 responden. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dengan pengolahan data SPSS versi 16. Sebelum diberikan pendidikan kesehatan pengetahuan remaja dalam kategori cukup sebanyak 21 responden (87,5%), setelah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan pengetahuan remaja dalam kategori baik meningkat menjadi 24 responden (100%). Ada pengaruh antara pemberian pendidikan kesehatan dengan media video terhadap pengetahuan remaja tentang seks pranikah. Ada pengaruh antara pemberian pendidikan kesehatan dengan media video terhadap pengetahuan remaja tentang seks pranikah di SMA Al- Mas’udiyyah Kecamatan Bandungan Kabupaten Semarang. Diharapkan sekolah dapat memberikan pendidikan kesehatan dengan media video sehingga tidak membuat siswa bosan dan dapat lebih aktif dalam pembelajaran

Abstract. This research aimed to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model towards student’s problem solving ability in climate change lesson of grade X students Senior High School 3 Makassar. This was a quasi- experimental research with pre-test- post test control group design and consist of two groups which were experimental group and control group. The population of this study is grade X students of Senior High School 3 Makassar and the two groups were chosen by using random sampling technique. The groups chosen as the research sample is X MIA 1 as the experimental group and X MIA 5 as the control group. Type of research instrument that used were essay test and multiple choice. Data of problem- solving ability was collected by essay test that given before and after treatment and then analyzed by using descriptive statsistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistic used to describe student’s problem solving ability and inferential statistics used to hypothesis test by analysis of covariance. The results shows that the significant value between PBL and student’s problem solving ability was 0,000 (α < 0,05) and the significant value between PBL and learning outcomes was 0,000 (α < 0,05). Based on the result obtained, it can be coclude that the application of PBL on learning process affect problem solving ability and Climate Change lesson of grade X students Senior High School 3Makassar.Keywords: problem-based learning (PBL), problem solving ability

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan dumbbell arm swings terhadap kelentukan togok dan kekuatan otot lengan pada siswa peserta ekstrakurikuler bola voli SMA Negeri 1 Gianyar tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu (quasi experimental) dengan rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah the non-randomized control group pretest-posttest design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta ekstrakurikuler bola voli SMA Negeri 1 Gianyar tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 yang berjumlah 44 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sit and reach test dan pull and push test. Data dianalisis dengan uji-t independent pada taraf signifikansi () 0,05 dengan bantuan komputer program SPSS 16,0. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dengan menggunakan uji-t independent untuk data kelentukan togok diperoleh nilai signifikansi hitung lebih kecil dari nilai α (Sig < 0,05) yaitu sebesar 0,000. Sedangkan untuk data kekuatan otot lengan diperoleh nilai signifikansi hitung lebih kecil dari nilai α (Sig < 0,05) yaitu sebesar 0,000. Dari hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan dumbbell arm swings berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan kelentukan togok dan peningkatan kekuatan otot lengan pada siswa peserta ekstrakurikuler bola voli di SMA Negeri 1 Gianyar tahun pelajaran 2015/2016.Kata Kunci : dumbbell arm swings, kelentukan, kekuatan Abstract This research was aimed to finding out the effect of dumbbell arm swings training upon extracurricular of volleyball students' flexibility and strength in senior high school 1 Gianyar in the academic year of 2015-2016. The research was designed in a quasi experimental research with the non-randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this research were 44 peoples from extracurricular of volleyball students of senior high school 1 Gianyar in the academic year of 2015-2016. The instruments were sit and reach test and pull and push test. The data were analyzed by independent t-test with () 0,05 significance. It was analyzed with SPSS 16,0. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that the students' flexibility has lower significance value than α (Sig < 0,05), that is 0,000. On the other hands, the students' strength has lower value than α (Sig < 0,05), that is 0,000. From the data analysis, it can be concluded that dumbbell arm swings training significant improved the flexibility and strength of the volleyball students of senior high school 1 Gianyar academic year of 2015/2016. keyword : dumbbell arm swings, flexibility, strength
