ABSTRACTOne of the efforts to prevent crop failure in vanname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) can be done by increasing immunity in vanname shrimp. Increased shrimp immunity by chemical means has a weakness that can create resistance to bacteria. To overcome the positive impact of the use of antibiotics in preventing infection in vanname shrimp by utilizing a natural ingredient with medicinal properties namely kasembukan (Paederi foetida Linn.) The research aims to determine the immunity of vanname shrimp and survival ratio. The  research used a Completely Randomized Design with the treatment of paederia leaf concentration added to commercial shrimp feed, namely A1; A2; A3; A4; A5 (0%; 10%; 20%; 40%; 80%). Observations were made on day 0, day 10, day 20 and day 30. The results of research using ANOVA showed that there was an effect of treatment on immune vanname shrimp based on total vanname shrimp hemocytes. Duncon's further tests showed that the treatment of adding 10% and 20% of the paederia leaves had the same effect while the addition of 0%, 40% and 80% of the paederia leaves had a reduced effect on the total haemocyte of vanname shrimp. The survival ratio (SR) of vanname shrimp for each treatment for 30 days were A1: 80%, A2: 100%, A3: 90%, A4: 91% and A5: 96%.Keywords: Immunity, feed, Litopenaus vannamei, Paederia foetida L.ABSTRAKUpaya dalam mencegah kegagalan panen pada budidaya udang vanname (Litopenaeus vannamei) salah satunya dapat dilakukan dengan cara meningkatkan imunitas pada udang vanname. This study aimed to evaluate the use of wattle tannin as an adsorbent of toxic metals in broilers fed on diets with different levels of replacement of limestone with golden mussel meal. First, we conducted a trial to evaluate the performance of broiler chicks from 1 to 21 days old when fed on wattle tannin. For this we used 720 male broiler chicks that were one day old, in a completely randomized design with six treatments and six replications. The treatments were composed of basal diets with increasing levels of wattle tannin (0, 250, 500, 750, 1000 and 1250 g tonne-1), where the tannin replaced the inert material of the feed. All of the diets were isonutritive and isocaloric. The results showed that 250 g tonne-1 of tannin was detrimental to weight gain, final weight and feed conversion, and the use of 1000 g tonne-1 of wattle tannin, in addition to these effects, caused a drop in consumption of the ration. There was no effect of treatment on morphometric measurements of villi, crypt or the villus:crypt ratio. Next, we conducted a second test to evaluate the performance of broiler chicks from 1 to 21 days of age when fed with increasing levels of replacement (0, 25, 50, 75, 100%) of limestone with golden mussel and even supplementation or not wattle tannin. Five repetitions were used and the birds were housed in a completely randomized design. In diets with the inclusion of tannin, 250 g tonne-1 of wattle tannin was used, which replaced the inert material in the feed. In this test, 1200 male broiler chicks that were one day old were used. The results showed that the golden mussel contains large quantities of calcium, with low concentrations of toxic metals and microbiological contamination within the allowed range. Performance data show that mussel can be used to replace up to 100% of limestone in feed without affecting the variables, but the use of 250 g tonne-1 of wattle tannin affects the performance of chicks. Bone quality was not changed by the treatments. Phosphorus and calcium in the bones remained stable during treatment and only the gray variation showed interaction effects from the use of mussel and wattle tannin.

The decrease in rice production can be caused by pests that can damage the quality and quantity. Pests that always attack rice plants are Brown planthopper. The BPH causes several effects, namely hopperburn, as a virus vector and can cause crop failure. The control of BPHs by farmers to date is by using synthetic pesticides. The use of synthetic pesticides can cause residues, resistance, resurgence, and the destruction of natural enemies. The use of synthetic insecticides can be minimized by using environmentally friendly and sustainable control alternatives, namely by using the local entomopathogenic fungi B. bassiana. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of local Riau B. bassiana on BPH and rice production. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Pests and Experimental Gardens, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from April to July 2020. The research was designed a completely randomized design with five treatments local entomopathogenic fungi concentrations B. bassiana 0 g.l-1 water, 10 g.l-1 water, 20 g.l-1 water, 30 g.l-1 water, 40 g.l-1 water and four replications, in order to obtain 20 experimental units. The results showed that application of Riau local B. bassiana with a concentration of 40 g.l-1 for six days was able to cause the highest mortality of 92.5%. The higher the concentration of Riau local B. bassiana, the lower the attack intensity. The attack of brown planthopper nymphs affects the quality of rice production, but did not affect the quantity of rice production.
