<p><em>The existence of pesantren as an Islamic educational institution that has advantages both from aspects of scientific tradition and the transmission and intensity of Muslims has been threatened by the current globaisasi. Based on literature study, this paper intends to write Azyumardi Azra idea about modernization of pesantren. The result of the research shows that the idea of pesantren modernization should be able to develop a proper appreciation of all the developments that occur in the present and future, so that it can produce a broad-minded scholar, but must retain the main character of producing ulama and tafaqquh fiddien center without carrying the flow of globalization</em></p><p><strong><em> </em>Abstrak</strong></p><p> Eksistensi pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam yang memiliki keunggulan baik dari aspek tradisi keilmuannya maupun sisi transmisi dan intensitas umat Islam terancam oleh adanya arus globaisasi. Berdasar studi pustaka, tulisan ini bermaksud untuk menuliskan gagasan Azyumardi Azra tentang modernisasi pesantren. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gagasan modernsasi pesantren harus bisa menumbuhkan apresiasi yang sepatutnya terhadap semua perkembangan yang terjadi di masa kini dan mendatang, sehingga dapat memproduksi ulama yang berwawasan luas, namun harus tetap mempertahankan ciri utamanya yaitu memproduksi ulama dan pusat <em>tafaqquh fiddien</em> tanpa terbawa arus globalisasi.</p>

Meunasah is one of the basic levels of traditional Islamic educational institutions in Aceh. Which to date continues to be vehement with recitation and other civic activities. aims to find out the origins and the development of meunasah as a basic traditional Islamic educational institution in Aceh. This research applied a literature study by collecting various references. The results showed that meunasah had existed since the formation of the Islamic community in Aceh. The development of meunasah as a traditional Aceh Islamic education institution was only discovered during the period of Sultan Iskandar Muda (1607-1636).

<p align="center"><strong>ABSTRAK</strong></p><p> </p><p>Tulisan ini membahas mengenai <em>gender</em> yang terdapat pada film Salah Bodi melalui semiotika Metz. Pengamatan <em>gender </em>pada tokoh utama yaitu Farhan (Andien) dan Inong (Indra). Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif<em> </em>deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu telaah dokumen, studi pustaka, dan wawancara. Hasil dari tulisan ini adalah (a). Menghasilkan pemaparan dari analisis menggunakan semiotika Christian Metz pada film Salah Bodi. Delapan grand sintagmatiknya yaitu <em>Autonomous Shot, Parallel Syntagma, Descriptive Syntagma,</em> <em>Alternating Syntagma, Scene, Episodic Sequence</em>, dan<em> Ordinary Sequence </em>terkandung dalam film Salah Bodi<em> </em>kecuali sintagma kurung (<em>Bracket Syntagma</em>). Rangkaian sintagmatik Metz mengungkap adegan-adegan yang berdasarkan atas <em>gender</em> dan bertujuan untuk menunjukkan kepada penonton identitas gender dari tokoh film</p><p> </p><p>(b). <em>gender</em> yang ditampilkan dalam film Salah Bodi memiliki kecenderungan berprilaku tersendiri seperti penampilan fisik, orientasi seksual, kebiasaannya, dan respon sosial dari masyarakat. Meskipun di akhir film ditunjukkan tokoh utama kembali ke kodrat aslinya. Dalam pembahasan ini juga didukung oleh argumen dari pelaku di luar film.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Kata kunci</strong>:<strong> </strong><em>Gender</em>, Film Salah Bodi, Semiotika Christian Metz.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p align="center"><strong><em>ABSTRACT</em></strong></p><p> </p><p><em>This paper discusses about gender contained in film Salah Bodi through Metz semiotics. The observation of gender is focused on the main characters, Farhan (Andien) and Inong (Indra). The method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques namely document review, literature study, and interview. The re-sults of this paper are (a). A presentation of the analysis using Christian Metz’s semiotics on the film Salah Bodi. The eight grand syntagmatic namely Autonomous Shot, Parallel Syntagma, Descriptive Syntagma, Alternating Syntagma, Scene, Episodic Sequence, and Ordinary Sequence are contained in the film Salah Bodi except Brackets Syntagm (Bracket Syntagma). The Metz’s syntagmatic sequence reveals the scenes based on gender and aims to show the audience the gender identity of the film character (b). the gender shown in the film Salah Bodi has a tendency to behave in isolation such as physical appearance, sexual orientation, habits, and social responses from the community, even though at the end of the film, the main character is shown back to his original nature. This discussion is also supported by the arguments from actors outside the film.</em></p><p> </p><p><strong><em>Keywords: </em></strong><em>Gender, Film Salah Bodi, Christian Metz Semiotics.<strong> </strong>.</em></p>

The research objective is to determine the purpose of physical education in pedagogical higher educational institutions. Materials and methods. The research used: theoretical analysis and collation of scientific literature; study of guidelines and documents regulating the process of organizing and conducting the discipline “Physical Education” in a higher educational institution; questionnaires. The participants of the experiment were 60 first-year students (enrolled in 2015-2016) of the School of Ukrainian Language and Literature of H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University. Research results. The analysis of the questionnaires revealed low rates of motivational variants in the choice of the sports section related to the future profession. The research specified the purpose of the discipline “Physical Education” in a pedagogical higher educational institution, and defined the health-preserving competence. Conclusions. The specific nature of the pedagogical profession requires that future teachers acquire the health-preserving competence within the discipline “Physical Education”, namely, the ability to maintain a general level of physical health needed to conduct social and professional activity.

(Title: Representation of Hero’s Journey on Main Character Chihiro in Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away Anime) This paper is the result of a qualitative descriptive type of literature study. The purpose of this study was to reveal the heroic journey process of main character of Spirited Away anime named Chihiro, based on the Hero’s Journey theory proposed by Vogler. Data about Chihiro's heroic journey are obtained from anime with note taking techniques. The method used in the analysis is the method of content analysis based on the theory of Hero's Journey. From the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the main character Chihiro has undergone a total of the twelve stages of the hero’s journey. Chihiro's adventure has succeeded in changing her personality which was initially timid, spoiled, and whiny to be brave, independent, calm and confident, and full of compassion. Chihiro's heroic journey proves the true definition of a hero according to Vogler, while also proving that to win a fight does not always use physical strength. There are times when thinking intelligence and emotional intelligence are much more needed. In addition, this anime also features a lot of kamisama which was once believed by the Japanese. Miyazaki might want to remind again about the existence of Japanese gods by displaying them in this anime, either those actually found in Japanese mythology or Miyazaki's own creations. Thus, the story of Spirited Away which has a mythical structure as stated by Vogler becomes much more alive and interesting.

This research is a study that examines how pesantren as an Islamic educational institution in Indonesia is able to survive amid the current modernization of pesantren education that changes the education system from traditional to modern. In this study there are several formulations of the problem, namely: 1) how was the initial development of Al-Barokah pesantren education, 2) how was the strategy of using the applied learning methods and models, 3) how was the final evaluation process at the Al-Barokah Islamic boarding school?. This research uses the content study method or literature study using several written studies and the use of qualitative methods in writing this article.

Green building concept is a discourse that is expected to address the challenges of today development. The formulated of Green Building in these six criteria can be used as a guide to produce a sustainable design. The six criteria are Rightness Land Use, Energy Efficiency and Conservation, Water Conservation, Material Sources & Cycles, Air Quality and Air Comfort in Space and Building Environmental Management. Green School Bali is buildings that perform green building. This educational institution has an concept that is combined education toward the environment create a healthy environment. This study aims to knowing the application of green building in the Green School Bali to use as a reference in designing. The research method used is literature study to analyze buildings. The results show that Green School Bali has implemented the six criteria of green building, especially in building design that can save energy consumption and use of bamboo materials in the entire building. <p><em>Educators are human resources who contribute in the exploration of students at an educational institution. In general, educators should have four competencies such as professional competence, paedagogik competence, personality competence, and social competence.</em><strong><em></em></strong></p><p><em>As an educator who has the task of developing the potential of learners, it is clear that a teacher should improve his ability with various efforts, including by writing, discussing, following scientific activities, following seminars, and other activities that are able to hone his noble duty as an educator. Because some competencies to be developed are social competence, competence, pedagogy, and professional competence. A good teacher is those who meet the requirements of professional skills either as educators. Herein lies the importance of teachers' professional quality standards to ensure the quality of teaching and learning process</em><em>.</em><em>In addition to being a professional educator, with the certification of teachers is expected to be an economically prosperous educator. In addition to the economic welfare it will obviously increase the motivation of teachers to develop their professional tasks through several activities such as delegation of subject teachers work (MGMP), KKG, seminars, discussion activities and even motivation to continue higher education. Because of the cost of functional allowance to teachers who have passed a certified teacher can really focus on the task of becoming an educator in an effort to educate the nation by no longer thinking about the family economy that has been the burden of teachers in Indonesia. Because we know there are still many teachers who are still far from welfare. Many who have a double profession other than to be a teacher like a buyer of used goods, public transportation drivers, newspaper delivery, fried sellers, and so forth. So ultimately the dignity of a teacher can occupy at the highest social stratification through this certification program</em><em>.</em><strong><em></em></strong></p><p><em>                   Methods of data collection in this study using literature study. In this stage, the researchers try to select the data (books) that have relevance to the professional policy of madrasah teachers through certification program in improving the quality of Islamic education. Then the authors also use the synthesis analysis that is by handling of certain scientific objects by combining the understanding of one with another understanding, which ultimately can be obtained by the new knowledge of professional policy of madrasah teachers through certification program in improving the quality of Islamic education. The author also uses content analysis that is research conducted on the information documented in the recording, good pictures, sounds, writings and others. </em></p><p><em>                   With this method will be done data analysis and processing scientifically about the content of writing policy of the profession of madrasah teachers through certification program in improving the quality of Islamic education research results indicate that the government certification to teachers intended as an effort to project teachers into educators who are actually able to do their duties with good and professional who have a predetermined standard of competence. Specifically, the objectives of teacher certification are: To improve the competence of madrasah teachers in their field of knowledge, to strengthen the teaching ability of madrasah teachers, to develop madrasah teacher competence holistically so as to be able to act professionally and improve the ability of Madrasah teachers in scientific research and activity activities, information communication technology for learning purposes</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>Keywords: Profession Policy of Madrasah Teachers, Certification, Quality of Islamic Education</em></p><p><strong> </strong></p>

In recent years, the landscape showing a conservative tendency in religion hassignificantly increased. The Islamic Conservatives in Indonesia experienced unexpected and quite surprising growth and development, and perhaps reached its peak in the last 3-5 years. The negative excesses of this conservative tendency are quite worrying and have the potential to disrupt the sustainability of democracy and the integrity of the nation. This research seeks to elaborate efforts to mainstream moderate Islam which is the main agenda of the government (Ministry of Religion) as a step to counter conservative understanding and see how the role of educational institutions there. This research is a qualitative research focusing on the literature study and using a descriptive-analysis approach. The results of this study indicate that in an effort to mainstream moderate Islam, educational institutions play a significant role although not the only determinant. This role can be realized through several aspects such as curriculum and learning processes in educational institutions, supervision and guidance of programs or activities outside the curriculum of educational institutions starting from elementary to high levels, as well as through educational institutions policies.

AbstractThe problem discussed in this article is the values of perfection in the main character of Jayengrana in Wong Menak story of Wayang Sasak in its relation to other figures in the puppet. To explore this issue, the analysis method used is Roland Barthes’ semiotic perspective. Data were collected from interviews and literature study. After applying the stages of semiotic analysis, which is based on 5 codes of Roland Barthes’ semiotics (i. e. hermeneutic, connotation, symbolic, proaretic, and cultural codes), it can be concluded that the perfection of Wong Menak story lies on the glory of himself as wong menak as represented through the his nicknames which prevails on every journey of life. This is because of his ability to manage the five characters that exist in companions and manifest themselves in wong menak itself. Keywords: perfection, wong menak, puppet sasak. AbstrakMasalah yang dibahas dalam artikel ini adalah tentang nilai kesempurnaan yang dimiliki oleh tokoh utama Jayengrana dalam Wong Menak di dalam Wayang Sasak yang dikaitkan dengan tokoh-tokoh lainnya dalam wayang tersebut. Untuk mengupas persoalan tersebut, metode analisis yang digunakan adalah semiotika perspektif Roland Barthes. Data yang dianalisis adalah data dari hasil wawancara dan studi pustaka. Setelah melewati tahapan analisis semiotika yang berlandaskan pada lima kode Roland Barthes (yaitu kode hermeneutik, konotatif, simbolik, proaretik, dan kode kultural), dapat ditarik sebuah kesimpulan bahwa kesempurnaan Wong Menak terletak pada kejayaan dirinya sebagai wong menak yang direpresentasikan lewat nama-nama julukan yang disandangnya, sehingga senantiasa berjaya pada setiap perjalanan kehidupannya. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kemampuannya mengelola kelima karakter yang ada pada diri sahabat-sahabatnya dan  menyatu dalam diri wong menak itu sendiri. Kata kunci: kesempurnaan, wong menak, wayang sasak
