<p><em>Self Care is an implementation of activities based on self-awareness and conducted by the individual itself to meet the needs in maintaining life, health, and well-being in accordance with the state of health and illness.Employment of independence conducted by patients Diabetes Mellitus (DM) called self care DM with one of the goals in performing independent actions is to control the Diabetes Mellitus so as to minimize the occurrence of complications.Edukasi is a source of information that can help diabetes mellitus patients in taking decisions appropriate self-care nursing actions.The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of peer education against self care in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Type of quantitative research with quasi experimental research design pre-test and post-test control group. The number of samples in this study were 21 patients with Diabetes Mellitus in the Hospital according to inclusion criteria and exclusion in the study. Sampling using purposive sampling technique, data collection using questionnaire The Personal Models Of Self Care Diabetes Questionnaire that consists of 9 items of questions. The research analysis used univariate and frequency distribution. The results showed that patients with Diabetes Mellitus self care category as much as 16, 7% and self care with less good category as much as 83, 3 %. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that self care nursing diabetes mellitus patients in performing self actions to minimize the occurrence of complications in the category less good.</em></p>

Diabetes mellitus is one of the diseases with great impact on health and society, not only for its high prevalence but also for chronic complications and high mortality.. The psychological impact of diabetes began to be felt by the patient since he was diagnosed the doctor. Patients begin to experience psychological disorders such stress on himself related to the care and treatment should be undertaken. Conditions of emotional stress that require proper handling in order not to fall on the more severe conditions. This study aims to identify the influence of combination therapy progressive muscle relaxation and deep breathing relaxation against stress levels of patients with diabetes mellitus in Prolanis BPJS Kesehatan Kota Palangka Raya. The design used in this study using the design of the study : “PRE-TEST-POST-TEST DESIGN WITH CONTROL GROUP”. In this study population was patients with diabetes mellitus in Prolanis BPJS Kesehatan Kota Palangka Raya. The sampling technique in this study using total sampling technique, as many as 48 people. This research is expected to contribute positively to the management of emotional stress in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a critical public health problem, and its prevalence in Indonesia remains high. Diabetes mellitus may cause complications, one of which is neuropathy that can impair foot sensitivity. This requires a treatment by doing diabetic foot exercises using sponges and paper.Objective: To examine the effectiveness of diabetic foot exercise using sponges and newspapers on foot sensitivity in patients with diabetes mellitus.Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study with pretest posttest with a control group research design, which was conducted at Public Health Center Depok III, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. An accidental sampling technique was used to select participants, with a total sample of 108 respondents consisting of 36 respondents in a control group, 36 respondents in a sponge group, and 36 respondents in a newspaper group. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney test.Results: Among the three groups, only those who received foot exercises using sponges and newspapers had a significant effect on foot sensitivity (p <.05). However, there was no significant difference on the effect of foot exercise on foot sensitivity between sponges and newspapers group (p >.05).Conclusion: The use of sponges and newspapers in foot exercise could significantly improve foot sensitivity in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is therefore recommended for nurses to provide the foot exercise as a part of nursing practice in both hospitals and community health centers.

Education is one of the basic factors that can condition a person to be able to improve their abilities, knowledge, skills and attitude. The process of understanding patients with diabetes mellitus can occur through health education, by providing information, so there will be an awareness of individuals to behave in accordance with the knowledge they have. This study aims to analyze the effect of foot gymnastics education on self care in patients with diabetes mellitus at Panembahan Senopati Hospital, Yogyakarta. This quasi-experimental study used pre-test and post-test with control group design. The results showed that foot gymnastics education affected self care in patients with diabetes mellitus, with a p-value = 0.000. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh edukasi senam kaki terhadap self care pada pasien diabetes mellitus di Rumah Sakit Panembahan Senopati, Yogyakarta. Penelitian eksperiment kuasi ini menggunakan pre-test and post-test with control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa edukasi senam kaki berpengaruh terhadap self care pada pasien diabetes mellitus, dengan p-value = 0,000. Abstract : Psychological Well-being is a full achievement of one's psychological potential and a situation when individuals can accept their own strengths and weaknesses as they are, have life goals, develop positive relationships with others, become independent individuals, able to control the environment, and continue to grow personally . The Purpose of this study was to find out whether there was a correlation between religiosity and psychological well-being in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Husada Kimia Farma Sario Manado Clinic. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique that is as many as 70 people who meet the inclusion criteria. The research design used was a cross sectional study and data collected from respondents used a religiosity questionnaire and psychological well-being. The results of the Spearman Rho statistical test obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.570 (with a value of p = 0,000) which means the value of p <α (0.05). Conclution of this research hypothesis was accepted, this shows that there’s a correlation between religiosity and psychological well-being in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Husada Kimia Farma Sario Manado Clinic. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan religiusitas dengan kesejahteraan psikologis pada penderita diabetes mellitus di klinik husada kimia farma sario manado. Sampel diambil dengan teknik pengambilan purposive sampling yaitu sebanyak 70 orang yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Desain Penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross sectional study dan data dikumpulkan dari responden menggunakan kuesioner religiusitas dan kesejahteraan psikologis. Hasil Penelitian uji statistik Spearman Rho diperoleh koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,570 (dengan nilai p= 0,000) yang berarti nilai p < α (0,05). Kesimpulan bahwa hipotesis penelitian diterima, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara religiusitas dengan kesejahteraan psikologis pada pasien dengan diabetes mellitus di Klinik Husada Kimia Farma Sario Manado.Kata Kunci : Religiusitas, Kesejahteraan Psikologis, Pasien Diabetes Mellitus

ABSTRACT: DIABETIC FOOT SELF CARE ON DIABETES PATIENTS Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) can cause complications in various body systems. One of the complications of DM is complications in the feet which can cause diabetic foot ulcers and lead to leg amputation. Diabetic foot complications can be prevented by performing routine foot care or diabetic foot care. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the description of diabetic foot care in patients with diabetes mellitus consisting of personal self-care, podiatric care, and footwear and socks. Method: This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. Data was collected using a diabetic foot care questionnaire. The number of samples in this study was 51 people. The sampling method is a non-probability technique using consecutive sampling. The study was conducted in the Kuranji Health Center Working Area in July – November 2021. Result: The results showed that most respondents (64.70%) had poor personal self-care in foot care, 82.3% of respondents had poor podiatric care habits. and 52.94% of respondents have good habits in choosing footwear. Conclusion: From the results of the study, it was concluded that people with diabetes have bad habits in performing foot care so that this is one of the risk factors for complications in the feet. To increase awareness of people with diabetes in performing foot care, it is recommended that nurses can provide education and teach people with diabetes to take care of their feet Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus; Foot Complications; Foot Care  INTISARI : DIABETIC FOOT SELF CARE PADA DIABETISI Latar Belakang : Diabetes Melitus (DM) dapat menyebabkan komplikasi pada berbagai sistem tubuh. Salah satu komplikasi DM adalah komplikasi pada kaki yang dapat menimbulkan ulkus kaki diabetik dan berujung dengan amputasi kaki. Pencegahan komplikasi pada kaki dapat dilakukan diabetisi dengan melakukan perawatan kaki rutin atau diabetic foot care.Tujuan : Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran diabetic foot care pada pasien diabetes melitus yang terdiri dari personal self care, podiatric care, serta footwear and sock.Metode : Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner diabetic foot care. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 51 orang. Metode pengambilan sampel adalah dengan Teknik non probability dengan menggunakan consecutive sampling. Penelitian dilakukan di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Kuranji pada Bulan Juli – November 2021.Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden (64,70%) memiliki personal self care yang kurang baik dalam perawatan kaki, 82,3% responden memiliki kebiasan podiatric care yang kurang baik dan 52,94% responden memiliki kebiasaan baik dalam pemilihan alas kaki.Kesimpulan : Diabetisi memiliki kebiasaan yang kurang baik dalam melakukan perawatan kaki sehingga ini menjadi salah satu faktor resiko terjadinya komplikasi pada kaki. Untuk meningkatkan kesadaran diabetisi dalam melakukan perawatan kaki disarankan perawat dapat memberikan edukasi dan mengajarkan diabetisi untuk melakukan perawatan kaki Kata Kunci : Diabetes Melitus; Komplikasi Kaki; Perawatan Kaki

Background of Study: Student period is the most memorable period of one's life time, it includes both happy moments and stressors to cope with, here researcher try to identify the stress level and psychological well being of student be and to identify the affect of physical workout on the psychological well being. Methods: A quantitative research approach and quasi experimental pre test post test control group design was adopted for the study. Fifty subjects were selected bypurposive sampling technique. The subjects were assigned either to experimental group (n=25) or control group (n=25). The psychological wellbeing was measured using Ryff’s scale of psychological wellbeing. Results: The study showed that the students have various stress and the physical workout is effective in improving psychological well being, This shows there is no association between psychological wellbeing and selected demographic variables of the students. Conclusion: concluded that physical workout is effective in improving psychological wellbeing among students.

Background: The diabetes mellitus cases have significantly increased in Indonesia over recent years. Health education for patients has often been carried out; however, education using self-instructional methods, which provided self-learning to solve problems by adjusting the patient's ability to improve self-care behaviors, has not been widely used.Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the self-care behaviors of diabetic patients with the application of self-instructional training.Methods: This research was a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest with a control group design. The participants were 73 diabetic patients in the out-patient units selected by a purposive sampling technique, and divided into two groups: the intervention group (n=37) and the control group (n=36). The intervention group received a self-instructional training program which was carried out in two sessions using a booklet; each session lasted for 45 minutes. The Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities (SDSCA) questionnaire was used to collect diabetic patients' self-care behavior data. Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests were employed for data analysis.Results: Self-care behaviors of patients with diabetes mellitus increased before and after the training in both groups (p=0.000). However, the increase in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group, from 46.46±5.014 to 58.03±7.320 and from 47.78±4.929 to 51.64±6.406, respectively. There was also a significant difference in the self-care behaviors of diabetic patients between the intervention group and the control group (p=0.000).Conclusion: Self-instructional training significantly improves self-care behaviors of diabetic patients. Therefore, self-instructional training can be considered to apply in the clinical setting for improving self-care behaviors of diabetic patients to prevent complications, and for enhancing nursing care of diabetes mellitus.

Diabetes mellitus dapat menyebabkan cukup banyak komplikasi seperti kelainan mata, kelainan ginjal, kelainan pembuluh darah dan kelainan pada kaki. Penderita diabetes mellitus yang mengalami komplikasi kronis perlu diberikan upaya preventif untuk mencegah komplikasi, salah satunya adalah kemampuan perawatan kaki. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji efektivitas supportive educative system dalam meningkatkan kemandirian perawatan kaki pada pasien dengan diabetes mellitus Tipe II di Puskesmas Permata Sukarame, Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasy eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest with control group dengan total masing-masing kelompok sebanyak 18 responden. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi penelitian. Penelitian ini diuji menggunakan analisis univariat, bivariat dan uji T-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata dalam kemandirian perawatan kaki pada kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol dengan p-value 0,000. Pendidikan dan praktik perawatan kaki harus diberikan sejak dini sebagai upaya pencegahan untuk komplikasi.   Kata kunci : Supportive educative system, kemandirian perawatan kaki   SUPPORTIVE EDUCATIVE SYSTEM IN IMPROVING INDEPENDENCE OF FOOT CARE IN PATIENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS TYPE II   ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus can cause quite a lot of complications such as eye disorders, kidney disorders, vascular disorders and abnormalities in the legs. Patients with diabetes mellitus who have chronic complications need to be given a preventive effort to prevent complications, one of which is foot care ability. This research was conducted to examine the effectiveness of supportive educative systems in increasing the independence of foot care in patients with Type II diabetes mellitus in the Permata Sukarame Health Center Bandar Lampung Working Area. This study used a quasi-experimental method with pretest-posttest with control group design with a total of 18 respondents each. Data collection is done by distributing questionnaires to respondents who meet the research inclusion criteria. This study was tested using univariate, bivariate, T-Test analysis. The results showed that the mean differences in the independence of foot care in the intervention group and the control group in the Permata Sukarame Community Health Center work area with a p-value of 0,000. Education and practice of foot care should be given early as a preventative effort for complications.   Keywords: Supportive educative system, independence of foot care

The present study is aimed at developing effective guidance program for increasing student’s learning motivation. The present study applies quantitative research approach with nonequivalent pre-posttest control group quasi-experimental design, and nonrandom-purposive sampling technique. The data were collected using inventory, interview, and documentary study. The study comes up with the main finding that the tested guidance program is proven to be effective for increasing learning motivation students of 11th grade at SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung.

Abstract: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases with characteristic hyperglycemia that occurs due to insulin secretion, insulin action or both. This disease affects many societies and continuously growing in Indonesia. Periodontal disease is an oral health problem which has a relatively high prevalence in the community where periodontal disease in all age groups in Indonesia.The purpose of this study was to determine the periodontal disease in patients with diabetesmellitus in RSUP Prof. dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. This descriptive study has 68 sample taken with total sampling technique. The sample is examined using evaluation criteria gingival index and CPITN index. The result show that subjects with periodontitis with a score of 4 is the highest as many as 18 people (44%) and subject with a score of 2 is that at least as many as 8 people (19.5%). And subjects with bad gingivitis is the highest as many as 10 people (52.6%) and subject with the good gingivitis is the at least as many as 5 people (26.3%). Based on the result of this study, periodontal disease in patients with diabetes mellitus in RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou most that periodontitis with the number of 41 people (68.3%) compared to gingivitis which is just as many as 19 people (31.7%)Keywords: diabetes mellitus, periodontitis, gingivitis, periodontalAbstrak:Diabetes Melitus (DM) merupakan suatu kelompok penyakit metabolik dengan karakteristik hiperglikemia yang terjadi karena sekresi insulin, kerja insulin atau kedua-duanya. Penyakit ini merupakan penyakit yang banyak diderita kalangan masyarakat dan terus berkembang di Indonesia. Penyakit periodontal merupakan masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang memiliki prevalensi cukup tinggi di masyarakat dimana penyakit periodontal pada semua kelompok umur di Indonesia.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penyakit periodontal pada penderita diabetes mellitus di RSUP Prof. dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel 60 orang yang diambil dengan teknik total sampling. Sampel diperiksa dengan menggunakan kriteria penilaian indeks gingiva dan indeks CPITN. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa yang mengalami periodontitis dengan skor 4 adalah yang paling tinggi yaitu sebanyak 18 orang (44%), dan subjek yang mengalami skor 2 adalah yang yang paling sedikit yaitu sebanyak 8 orang (19.5%). Sedangkan yang mengalami gingivitis yang paling tinggi yaitu gingivitis buruk sebanyak 10 orang (52.6%) dan yang paling sedikit adalah yang mengalami gingivitis ringan yaitu sebanyak 5 orang (26.3%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyakit periodontal yang paling banyak ditemui pada penderita diabetes melitus di RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado adalah penyakit periodontitis yaitu sebanyak 41 orang (68.3%) dan yang paling sedikit adalah gingivitis yaitu sebanyak 19 orang (31.7%)Kata kunci: diabetes melitus, periodontitis, gingivitis, periodontal
