This paper presents a model of the implementation of mediation in cases where a power disbalance between partners exists. The model includes relevant theoretical concepts which are important for understanding of violence phenomenon in the family, and the contemporary approaches to the work on balancing unequal power in relationships. In creating the model of family mediation in cases including violence, some basic concepts of mediation procedures are modified or adjusted (neutrality, confidentiality), as well as the concept of circular causality and complementary relationships from a systemic perspective. Implementation of interdisciplinary approach is proposed for efficient work on balancing the power in relations and using various working domains. The confession of violent behavior and the acceptance of personal responsibility by the offender, and the readiness of both sides to take part in restoration of a relationship are basic principles of restorative justice that is fundamental for victim- offender mediation. Therefore, those conditions are also necessary for a family mediation in cases including elements of violence, if the security for the victim is provided and guaranteed.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORKS FOR THE APPLICATION OF EMPOWERMENT IN THE MEDIATION OF PARENTAL CONFLICTS ABSTRACT Empowerment is a process which enables the mediation participants to gain or regain the control of their own lives and which includes the recognition of the sources of their inability and learning of the ways and methods to achieve the desired outcomes by activating the strengths and resources of the participants. Empowerment enables the establishment of the balance of power in the relationships and emphasises the role of the participants, their right to self-determination and their own decision-making, which is of key importance in the process of the mediation of parental conflicts. Even when an agreement was reached in the mediation of parental conflicts, it has been shown that its implementation is often very complex, especially if it was reached directively, since the needs of the family parent and children are more complex than that. Therefore the paper presents the concept of empowerment and the possibility of its implementation in mediation and some other theoretical concepts significant for understanding of the complex family and parental dynamics during and after the divorce. The understanding and application of these theoretical concepts in the family mediation practice is important for the mediators in order to empower the participants in a timely and effective manner to, even if they fail to reach an agreement, improve their level of readiness to reshape the conflicted relationship which, when the parents are in question, continues even after the termination of partner relationships. Chapter 2 redefines the three basic concepts of any rhetoric: ethos, logos, and pathos. It relates these elements to the questioning process by which they are rhetorically linked. Special attention is given to logos as a way of answering and expressing questions. This leads to the development of a radically new view of language and the principles of thought. The passage of a propositionalist view of language and reason, indifferent to questioning, to a problematological one, based on questioning is studied through examples of sentences. This leads to an integrative view, in which texts are also seen as answers to questions taken up (partially, i.e. as points of view) by the audience or the reader. The chapter ends with a reformulation of the basic principles of thought (identity, sufficient reason, and non-contradiction) as the three principles necessary to deal with questions, answers, and their relationship.

The purpose of the article is to study the topology of political communications in the conditions of the formation of a network society. The topological context of the study of political communications involves an appeal to the basic concepts of topology (space, form, time), as well as the phenomena of morphogenesis and homeomorphism. The main content of the article includes the study of a number of theoretical and methodological approaches of political topology in the communicative and communication perspectives. The author is based on the application of methods of content analysis, discourse analysis, system approach, network approach to identify topological aspects of political communications.As a result, the analysis carried out by the author showed that significant changes in the political space are taking place in the network society on the basis of technological and humanitarian innovations (including under the influence of informatization, networking, digitalization), as well as forms and practices of political communications are being transformed. An interdisciplinary approach to the analysis of political communications allows us to expand the range of their research.

The article considered the social, psychological and clinical aspects of domestic violence. Analyzed the main types of violent behavior (economic, psychological, physical, sexual) and the components of the causes of cruel behavior in the family: aggressive behavior, violence, violent behavior. The results of sociological research are presented, the prevalence, causes, aims and types of this phenomenon in Ukraine and in the world are determined. The sociological and cultural concepts of the features of the spread of the phenomenon of violence in families are considered. The stages of the formation of violent behavior in families are analyzed. The features of neurotic disorders and their prevalence among people who have experienced domestic violence are considered.

Peer violence is a very current problem in schools. There are plenty of studies on the characteristics of perpetrators, while the characteristics of victims have been explored much less frequently. This research was aimed at determining the factors from the domain of upbringing and socio-demographic characteristics of the victims that contribute to the exposure to peer violence. The total sample comprised 504 primary school students. In order to determine the effect of victimological factors, hierarchical regression analysis was performed. The data obtained by the Questionnaire measuring the manifestation forms and frequency of peer violence were processed by factor analysis, which yielded the following three factors of exposure to peer violence: direct, manipulative and social. Factor scores on these factors were used as criterion variables. In the first step, the variable of gender was entered into the regression, the second set included three socio-demographic variables, and the third set of variables comprised parental upbringing styles and violent behavior in the family. The cold upbringing style of the mother was identified as an important predictor for the exposure to direct peer violence; for the exposure to manipulative peer violence - the cold upbringing attitude of the father and mother; and for the exposure to social peer violence - gender (female) and the cold upbringing attitude of the father. The results are discussed in the context of pedagogical implications of the research, i.e. the guidelines for designing prevention programmes in schools focused on enhancing parental educational competences and students? social skills.

Observing new concepts in information technology, we pay attention to its impact on more effective supporting human and organisational knowledge. Knowledge management (KM) is one of such promising and intriguing concepts. Its goals and infrastructures are defined in different ways, therefore interdisciplinary approach seems to be useful. We have presented a short survey of theoretical concepts in management, marketing and decision theory, which were adapted by the theory of KM. On the other hand, knowledge validation (KV), defined as two procedures: verification and evaluation any form of knowledge, is aimed on assuring its quality. The paper discusses the crucial interrelationships between knowledge validation and management. The main goal of this work is positioning KV activities in the context of knowledge management process, emphasising usability of KV techniques during the whole process.

The article discusses the interrelation between theoretical concepts of jurisprudence and legal practice on the exampleof the category «legal subjectity». With an indication of real practical situations, the necessity of implementing the relevant theoretical achievements of legal science in the standards of practical legal activity is justified. It is noted that at the level of practice the integral content of legal categories, principles and other theoretical concepts of jurisprudence is inevitably operationalized and takes the form of terms. At the same time, the requirement for the unambiguity of the latter creates a constant need for practice in interpreting their content. The correct interpretation of the terms involves a combination of the achievements of theory and practical experience. Deviation from this rule leads to errors in terminology and mistakes in the interpretation of law. Attention is drawn to the need of using in the texts of judicial, administrative, contractual, and other documents the correct wording on the legal subjectity of separated units and governing bodies of legal entities. The contradictions of the notion of «complex legal entity» are also highlighted. Examples are given of how the legislative acts of Ukraine in some cases do not correspond to the basic principles of the legal entity institution, allowing the existence in the internal organizational space of legal entities of other legal entities. It is emphasized that this status of structural subdivisions of organizations and public authorities contradicts the need to ensure their organizational integrity as subjects of law, endowed with a complete kind of legal subjectity, namely «personal legal subjectity». We present a detailed theoretical and methodological expertise for the implementation of the author's program for students “Safe Internet”. This program is relevant due to the need to study the effectiveness of comprehensive preventive work, including primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of Internet addiction among students in an integrated group in the conditions of the educational process at the university, since this approach helps to reduce the risk of the occurrence and development of this addiction in the student environment. We present the methodological basic principles of the program and its novelty, which fundamentally distinguishes the author's preventive program from similar ones. The form of organizing work with students in this direction and the content part of the program include three blocks: a block on working with the family (focused on educating the family); a block of personal development (focused on revealing students' personal resources that prevent the emergence or development of addiction); a leisure block (focused on productive employment of students and exciting leisure). We disclose and developed methodically each block. The structure of the program is built in such a way that the holistic and consistent implementation of all its constituent parts ensures that the primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of Internet-addictive behavior among students is carried out simultaneously in the conditions of the university.

Pain has been a major concern in both inpatient and outpatient settings, particularly in patients with advanced diseases. In recent years, considerable progress has been made in the understanding of both acute and chronic pain mechanisms. The bio psychosocial experience of pain, whether it is a mixture or a single presentation of it’s different components, physical, psychological, social, or spiritual, may present a real challenge to both the patient and the treating team, and thus a clear understanding of it’s complexity, is of prime importance. Effective pain management involves an interdisciplinary approach using multimodal techniques, with the goal being to relieve the patient’s suffering. This chapter discusses basic concepts related to pain and its approach in routine palliative care practice.

This is a qualitative study using Grounded Theory as the methodological reference and the Process of Work in Nursing as the theoretical reference in order to understand the role assumed by nurses regarding hospital norms and routines applied to family visitors and companions of adult and elderly patients in a teaching hospital. Data analysis identified the theme: defining the modality of family support during hospitalization. This theme aggregates two main categories: becoming the family visitor and becoming the family companion. Through the analysis, it could be observed how established rules, which aims at disciplining and developing an efficient work in the hospital, can expose the lack of autonomy in the work process to modify relations in this context and how the familiar appropriation, as part of the health team, is far from being considered in the institutions.
