AbstractThis study aims to find out how the emphasizing is on pulses understanding in the Drums 1 Yamaha Music Foundation teaching material. The type of this research is a qualitative paradigm with a content analysis approach. The object of this research was the Drums 1 Yamaha Music Foundation book, and the research subject was pulse suppression contained in the drum practice material. The research instrument was the author itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, laptop, and mobile phone. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The data types were primary and secondary data. The data were analyzed through practicing, analyzing, eliciting findings, describing findings, and making conclusion. The results show that the Drums 1 Yamaha Music Foundation book is a teaching material intended for students / drummers at the beginner stage (beginner) in the 10th & 9th grade. Therefore, Yamaha provides systematic learning and focuses on pulses as a reference for learning, so pulses are considered crucial. This study reveals the pulses implicitly stated in the Drums 1 Yamaha Music Foundation book where pulses are implemented in 3 forms of practice patterns which are mutually applied. The quarter pulses applied to stick control is a main foundation to orchestrate the pulses in the from of not subdivision, not variation, rhythm pattern, and the drum fill-in. The difference is on where the focus is located. So the research definitively has proven that there is emphasizing of pulses which are presented in various forms of practice patterns. Keywords: Emphasis, understanding pulse, Learning Drums 1 Yamaha Music Foundation

Palavras-chave: meio ambiente; ensino de Matemática; Ensino Fundamental; transversalidade; interdisciplinaridade.ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION BY SOLID WASTE MATHEMATIC MODELLING OF FOR THE OVERCOMING OF INGENE CONSCIOUSNESSThis paper reports the practice of Environmental Education developed in 9th-grade of elementary school classes at a public school in west of Santa Catarina through Mathematical Modeling activities that addressed the treatment of Urban Solid Waste (USW). The Mathematics teacher of these classes acted as a researcher and, during the classes, data were collected through a field diary, the participants answered semi-structured questionnaires and participated in a focus group. The first Mathematical Modeling activity used secondary data obtained from the solid waste collection company in the city, and the students were responsible for solving a problem-situation proposed by the teacher. To carry out the second activity, students collected primary data about USW in their own homes. The data obtained were submitted to Content Analysis by Laurence Bardin. It is concluded that the activities allowed for the promotion of a better understanding of the socio-environmental theme integrated to the conceptual learning of Mathematics, which can contribute to changes in perceptions - perhaps once based on a naive awareness of this theme - and attitudes on the part of students in the concerning the environment. The period of transition from class teaching to subject teaching is marked by changes that greatly affect students. The aim of the paper is to analyze the potential causes that lead to learning difficulties in the transition from class teaching to subject teaching. The goal is achieved at the theoretical level, applying the method of theoretical analysis and content analysis technique. Because of the pre-puberty and puberty period that they are in, students are in a phase of intense growth and development where they are more easily fatigued; their attention is short-lived, which often leads to clumsiness in performing activities and solving tasks. The analysis of the results of the research so far indicates that the fifth grade students are achieving lower school success compared to the previous four years of schooling. The causes of many difficulties that occur in the fifth grade are: the volume and difficulty of the teaching material, the difference in the criteria of students’ assessment, the problem of adaptation to changes in work, the adaptation of teaching procedures to the age of students. The pedagogical implications of this paper are reflected in the identification of causes and their prevention in order to ensure the best possible adaptation of students to new changes.
