Possible relationships between groups of teachers and their role performances are investigated. Teachers are grouped on the basis of their pupils’ socio-economic status, teacher's age, length of teaching experience, and teacher's ethnic or racial membership. These variables are studied within the conceptual framework of social role theory. The study involves a review of literature pertinent to role theory and teacher behavior. A theoretical social role model is developed to aid in investigating actual teacher behavior while performing the role of a teacher. The concept of social role is employed because it tends to integrate three major dimensions of human social behavior: the expectational, the situational, and the personal. Field application of this study involved sixty female intermediate grade teachers. These teachers were selected from twelve schools located in one of the largest urban school districts in southern Arizona.

Bahasa Indonesia:

English:

As a native Islamic educational institution in Indonesia, Pesantren has showed its success in preserving its existentialism. From the colonial period to the reformation period, Pesantren is getting more recognition in Indonesian legal system, particularly in the act of national education. As an Islamic educational institution, Pesantren has several element in its body, such as the kyai (the orthodox teacher), santri (the disciples), pondok, (the dorms), mosque, teaching methods, and kitab kuning (the yellow scriptures). The Pesantren has the salafiyah and khalafiyah as the variants. However, both of them implement the same teaching methods such as sorogan, bandongan, and wetonan. The Pesantren curriculum is a way of achieving educational goals and a direction of education with nation philosophies. This study aims to address the aviation industry’s expectations from educators in a professional higher educational setting. Ongoing research reveals the need for the educator to minimise the gap regarding employability skills within the stakeholders’ group. Although educators need to embrace a holistic approach in order to cater for all types of students, being an educator in a higher education institution demands getting to know and addressing the industry’s expectations. This study aims to reduce the aforementioned gap by acting as a link between the industry and MCAST. The rigorous process of data acquisition and data analysis ensured that a theoretical model was compiled and discoveries were explained. The findings and the model attempt to put forward the ideal pedagogy and suggestions for educators’ consideration. This pedagogy guides and helps the students to experience the necessary soft skills and transversal skills demanded by the industry and, aids students to understand knowledge and its relevance, offering a more holistic approach in pedagogy for educators to consider. By acting as a role model with the right attitude, the educator can greatly impact the student. Supported by MCAST and the aviation industry itself, the educator can present a well-prepared, valued, and employable student.
