The information and communication technologies (ICT) have penetrated into almost all areas of human life. They have a dual impact on education – increase learning efficiency and train students actively to use innovations. We assess this impact by examining teachers’ experience with innovative tools in Bulgarian schools. In an anonymous online survey, we investigate their opinions on the issues related to technology integration in contemporary classrooms. The research shows that educators appreciate the benefits of technology implementation in the teaching-learning process, but they need a single structured system encompassing all technological resources and tools. This work proposes a conception for a smart classroom – an innovative learning environment that can establish and control suitable conditions for education as well as to impact the instructional process directly.

Color in human life has a very important role. With color, humans can identify something that appears in front of them. There is a strong relationship between color and one’s emotions that can even cause a feeling that is unique to a person. Karo bridal jewelry uses gold as a whole, from bracelets, necklaces to earrings worn by the bride and groom. This study focuses on the role of gold in Karo bridal jewelry in influencing the perception of the bride and groom in living a new household. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the perception of the gold color in the Karo people, especially the bride and groom, had a very deep meaning, namely the value of responsibility, the value of hard work, the value of honesty and the value of prosperity expected in domestic life. The perception of value that arises from the gold color of jewelry reflects that both the bride and the extended family must be able to become role models who have luxurious and effective symbols such as gold.ABSTRAK Warna di dalam kehidupan manusia memiliki peranan yang sangat penting. Abstract:. Modern technology makes human life style also changesduring the development of the era. The exchange of information from one place to another becomes easier not only for national scoped but also the international scope. Moreover, it makes the foreign culture can easily enter Indonesia, imitated by society and then give impact to the life style of the society including human’s behaviour. It can be said that there is a moral swing in Indonesia nowadays. Many young people are not really enthusiastic in keeping their own culture. They tend to imitate other cultures, behave inappropriately, use illegal drugs, do free sex, bully each other, make genk, scuffle, and even kill people. One of the reasons of this morality crisis is the exemplary crisis. Adults who are supposed to be role models for the younger generation even provide bad examples such as doing corruption, being selfish and do individualist practices of corruption, collusion and nepotism, mutual checks, doing violence such as grabbing, punching and other crimes. Therefore, the government makes effort to overcome the moral crisis through character education or Budi pekerti education. Basically character education is not new concept, Ki Hajdar Dewantara has designed character education since a long time through its principles, foundations, concepts and teachings about Tamansiswa. The principles and teaching can be implemented to toddlers, children, and adolescents until adults. Through the method of literature analysis, this paper seeks to examine and explore more deeply about the character education which designed according to the teaching of Ki HadjarDewantara. Character education designed according to Ki Hadjar Dewantara applied through basic and teaching of Tamansiswa. Basic Tamansiswa includes Panca Dharma that is Nature of universe, Independence, Culture, Nationality and Humanity. While Tamansiswa teaching includes Tri Ngo (ngerti, ngroso, lan nglakoni), Tri N (niteni, niroke, nambahi), Tri Hayu) and most importantly the Trilogi Kepemimpinan (ing ngarso sung tulodho, ing madyo mangun karso, tutwuri handayani), all of them are implemented in Tri Pusat Pendidikan  (family, school and community).

In this journal contains a description of the explanation of the relationship (relationship) between someone who plays himself as a teacher spiritual guide (Murshid) with other people who act as followers (Disciples). The second role is certainly not a role in the theater or soap opera shows that we watch on television, but it is a concrete manifestation on the real stage of life. In the tradition sosial urf social-attraction there are life phenomena that are very unique and interesting to study and examine in depth. Because in this phenomenon there is a mirror of human life, which between one another has a very strong relationship and attachment between them. This relationship can be intensively interwoven both physically and mentally which is implemented directly in religious spiritual life and social life. From each of them there were those who became role models who were very adhered to and respected, namely a murshid teacher. While others become followers who are very obedient and loyal, namely a student. The closeness of the relationship between murshid and students is part of an inseparable relationship. Both are bound and related to each other. Each of them takes care and maintains each other. This kind of life portrait is a picture of past life in the time of the Prophet and his companions. Where the Prophet's figure was his capacity as a figure who became uswah (role model) for his companions whose capacity was a loyal follower of the Prophet. This paper aims to reveal the pact around the scope of life in the circle of social-spiritual life played by God's chosen servants.

The COVID-19 pandemic, since its beginning in December 2019, has altered every aspect of human life. In Vietnam, the pandemic is in its fourth peak and is the most serious so far, putting Vietnam in the list of top 30 countries with the highest daily cases. In this paper, we wish to identify the magnitude of its impact on college students in Vietnam. As far as we’re concerned, college students belong to the most affected groups in the population, especially in big cities that have been hitting hard by the virus. We conducted an online survey from 31 May 2021 to 9 June 2021, asking students from four representative regions in Vietnam to describe how the pandemic has changed their lifestyle and studying environment, as well as their awareness, compliance, and psychological state. The collected answers were processed to eliminate unreliable ones then prepared for sentiment analysis. To analyze the relationship among the variables, we performed a variety of statistical tests, including Shapiro–Wilk, Mc Nemar, Mann–Whitney–Wilcoxon, Kruskal–Wallis, and Pearson’s Chi-square tests. Among 1875 students who participated, many did not embrace online education. A total of 64.53% of them refused to think that online education would be the upcoming trend. During the pandemic, nearly one quarter of students were in a negative mood. About the same number showed signs of depression. We also observed that there were increasing patterns in sleeping time, body weight, and sedentary lifestyle. However, they maintained a positive attitude toward health protection and compliance with government regulations (65.81%). As far as we know, this is the first project to conduct such a large-scale survey analysis on students in Vietnam. The findings of the paper help us take notice of financial and mental needs and perspective issues for indigent students, which contributes to reducing the pandemic’s negative effects and going forwards to a better and more sustainable life.

Abstract In an update of earlier surveys conducted in Connecticut and New Jersey in the mid-1990s, an online survey of private commercial pest control firms engaged in residential tick control showed that the application of synthetic acaricides continues to be the primary method of control used. The carbamate and organophospate acaricides, previously the most commonly used against ticks, have given way to synthetic pyrethroids and, to a lesser extent, the use of natural product/organic acaricides. Typical costs for a single acaricide application today ($100–$200 for a 1 acre [0.4 ha] property) remain similar to those reported from the earlier surveys, although the frequency of applications and, therefore, also the overall annual cost has increased. The application habitats within residential properties, life stages targeted, and application equipment used have not changed appreciably since the mid-1990s. While most survey respondents expressed knowledge of natural product acaricides and Damminix Tick Tubes, many reported that they either did not employ or knew very little about other alternative tick control methods (including entomopathogenic fungus and topical application of acaricides to tick hosts via 4-Poster deer treatment stations or Select TCS rodent bait boxes). This suggests either a failure to adequately inform the pest management industry and their potential client base of the availability of alternate methods, and/or industry concerns about cost and effectiveness of the alternatives.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to understand what (if any) actual and perceived barriers exist for women to take on fire and emergency management leadership roles within the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Victoria, Australia. Design/methodology/approach An anonymous quantitative online survey was used to collect data about opinions and thoughts of staff. This informed the qualitative component of the research – in-depth, semi-structured interviews and a focus group. The combination of these techniques provides deeper insight into the nature of the barriers for women. Findings Respondents identified real barriers for women accessing leadership roles in fire and emergency. Reflecting the wider literature on barriers to women in executive roles, those identified related to sexism, career penalties not faced by men for family responsibilities, and assumptions of women helping other women’s careers. There were more men in senior roles, leaving senior women isolated and often overlooked. Women had fewer role models and sponsors than men and less developed networks, finding it harder to access training and deployments. The context was described by most as “a boys’ club”, where men were seen to dominate meetings and stereotype the abilities of women. Originality/value This paper analyses the barriers to women in fire and emergency leadership roles within a masculine workplace and is rare in including a qualitative aspect to the issue in the Australian context.

Background: One integral way by which individuals in recovery pursue meaning and productivity in their lives is via employment. Unfortunately, the vast majority of individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) who express the desire to work remain unemployed. Families have the potential to play an important role in the domain of supported employment (SE), though may not have the knowledge or skills to do so. Aims: This quantitative study aimed to better understand the perspectives of family members on the role of employment in recovery and the barriers faced by their loved ones in pursuing work. Method: Participants included 86 family members of individuals with SMI who were affiliated with their state NAMI Chapter and agreed to take part in an online survey. Wilcoxon signed-rank tests were used to determine meaningful differences between the highest and lowest ranked statements for each main research question. Results: Family members recognize that employment is important to recovery and offers individuals with SMI a valued social role. Relative to other factors, financial independence and being employed in a competitive job were viewed as less important to recovery. The most salient barriers to employment included stable housing, need for transportation, concerns about losing benefits, low self-esteem, and medication side effects. Conclusions: While family members can appreciate the importance of SE and their loved ones’ desire to work, they still tend to rank other factors as more integral to recovery. This underscores the need for additional education about the potential for employment to facilitate these other factors in recovery.

Objectives: The objectives of this study were to estimate the 1-month and 1-year prevalence of mental disorders in the Australian adult population; to determine the amount of disablement associated with this; and to determine the use of health and other services by persons with common mental disorders. Method: For the Adult Survey, a household sample of 10 600 persons aged 18 years and over were interviewed across Australia by experienced field staff of the Australian Bureau of Statistics. This was 78%% of the target sample. The interview consisted of the composite international diagnostic interview in its automated presentation (CIDI-A) and other components to determine disablement, use of services and satisfaction with services received. The diagnostic classifications used in the analyses were both ICD-10 and DSM-IV. Only the results from ICD-10 are reported here. Results: A total of 17.7%% of the sample had one or more common mental disorders, anxiety, depression, alcohol or substance abuse and neurasthenia. This morbidity was associated with considerable disablement in daily life: 3 days of impaired social role performance in the previous 4 weeks, compared with 1 day for the general population. Of all cases, 64.6%% had had no contact with health services in the previous year; 29.4%% had seen GPs and 7.5%% had seen psychiatrists. Conclusion: Australia now has its own national estimates of psychiatric morbidity. The morbidity is associated with considerable disablement, but most of it is untreated. General practitioners encounter by far the largest proportion of those reaching services.
