Islamic values are the basis of reference in efforts to improve students' character and attitudes. The low value of students’ character is a scourge of today's problems. This study aims to determine the development of students' curiosity through the integration of Islamic values in mathematics learning. This research is a qualitative exploratory. Data were collected by using interviews and observations. The instruments used were observation sheets and interview guidelines to determine the development of curiosity. The subjects were three students at the Mathematics Education Department, FTIK IAIN Langsa. The results showed that two subjects have developed four indicators of curiosity: namely always asking questions, not accepting something learning as boring, showing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and showing pleasure in learning. Meanwhile, there is one subject but there is one subject that does not develop curiosity on indicators showing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The results of study support theories stating that the integration of learning mathematics and Islamic values has a positive impact on students’ character. Therefore, this research can be considered for the Faculty of Education to further develop learning that integrating science and Islamic values in curriculum development as an effort to develop student character.

Epistemologically, science and religion can be integrated, even must be integrated. Imam Suprayogo encourages science as an integration of religious values (Islam) with General Science or Science. The integration of Islamic Education and Mathematics Education in the learning proposed in this paper is Islamic education or Islamic values contained /presented/inherent in mathematics learning. Learning mathematics by incorporating Islamic values or teachings will help facilitate teachers in conveying mathematical concepts as well as Islamic education/Islamic values to students. This integrated mathematics learning is very compatible with the characteristics of Islamic schools/madrasah. Islamic values, help improve the formation of student character in accordance with the ideals of Islam and the nation.

The research objective was to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes in mathematics learning through the adoption of an open-end approach in class IX-A Integrated MTs of Langsa City even semester 2018/2019. By using classroom action research, because this research was conducted to solve learning problems in class through cycles of plans, actions, observations and reflections. The results of this study indicate that the open-ended approach has a positive impact in improving learning outcomes on the tube volume material in learning mathematics. This can be seen from the better understanding of students of the material delivered by the teacher (mastery learning increases from the first and second cycles), namely respectively 62% and 94%. In the second cycle classical student mastery learning has been achieved.

Nowadays the aim of teaching English is communication as well as being acquainted with the culture of the country. In order to master the language it is important to study the lexical-semantic system. Teaching vocabulary is one of the most difficult issues. It is also complicated to choose the vocabulary while teaching. Vocabulary can be presented in different ways; one of the significant methods is presenting vocabulary through the context. Teachers use a great number of additional and supplementary tools and methods, including games, dances, puzzles and songs. There are many techniques of teaching vocabulary in the methodology and one of the most important techniques is teaching vocabulary using music and songs inasmuch as the value of songs in increasing the students’ motivation and involvement is great. Music has a very positive impact on pronunciation, accent, mood and motivation. Songs are an important source to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. That is why it is so important to use songs as a teaching tool. They play a major role in the process of teaching a second language.

This research aimed to design a strategy to develop character learning mathematics students that were based on the values of Islam. This study were in the frame of research and development method using qualitative approach. Subject of this research was the first year of undergraduate students of mathematics education department who took basic mathematics courses. Mathematics learning strategies in developing th character were designed in three stages to develop students character. The first stage was the inculcation. At this stage, lecturer facilitated students with activities that were able to raise awareness of the value of the character in learning. The second stage was Implementation where the lecturers facilitated student learning activities that fostered character value. Activities fostered values characters implicitly include group discussion, problems solving, seeking information from various sources, preparations reports, and presentations. The final stage was reflection, where the lecturer together with students did reflection on themselves and on the values of the characters that had not been well grown in learning. The results of interview with students suggest that the use of learning strategies has a positive impact on student character development.

The purpose of this research’s to analyze students interest in mathematical leaning by the matery Grafik Fungsi Kuadrat (Graphs of Quadratic Functions) assisted by GeoGebra sofware. In this research, the researcher used descriptive research method, descriptive research method is the research that generates descriptive data through the percentage of student answers that contain 5 indicators of learning interest scale students by given poll. The population of this research were 28 students of  nineth grade of SMP Bingkai Cendikia Cililin. Research data were collected by using the scale of learning interest of students in GeoGebra sofware assisted with mathematics learning that contains 20 questions each 10 positive and negative questions. The result of the data analysis could be concluded that there is a positive impact on students interest in learning mathematics assisted with GeoGebra sofware. The result of the data analysis showed by the average percentage of answers of students who agree of positive statement’s 49%, then the response of agree average of 67%, and then disagree response’s 10,8%, while for strongly disagreeing responses of 6.5%.

The number of studies regarding determining reading and writing strategies that students use and the effect of strategy training on skills development is quite abundant. However, no study has ever investigated whether there is a correlation between reading and writing strategies in terms of frequency of use. In spite of this, there have been several resources indicating that reading and writing skills are interrelated. Based on the assumption that this indication might possibly impact the use of strategies to some extent, current research aimed to determine the types of strategies used by first grade undergraduate students at a faculty of education together with their frequency of use and if there is a correlation between two scores. To conduct the research, 420 first-grade participants from various departments of Necatibey Faculty of Education, Balıkesir University were selected. As for the data collection, these students were administered a Reading Strategies Survey (RSS) developed by Karatay (2007) and a Writing Strategies Survey (WSS) developed by Ülper (2011). Related statistical analyses were conducted based on the data gathered from the scale, revealing that females used reading and writing strategies more often than males, and there was a moderate and positive correlation between the frequencies of the uses of writing and reading strategies. Apart from that, no difference was detected in terms of departments.

Parents play an important role in education, because they can help develop children’s learning potential and become a determining factor for the child’s future. Children must be given the best education from an early age, so that it can have a positive impact on children when they become students at school. The purpose of this service was to determine the importance of learning mathematics, to motivate and foster children’s interest in mathematics, to determine on how to help children in learning mathematics properly, to determine the practical and humanist mathematics learning knowledge, and to provide the appropriate and fun learning methods for children. In this service activity, there were several problems encountered in Pojok Hamlet, among others, parents had limited ability and time to foster children’s mathematics learning, children had difficulty in understanding mathematics, parents were not confident in fostering their children to learn mathematics. The methods used in the implementation of this activity were the lecture and question and answer methods. This service activity was attended by parents of grade 2 and 3 at SDN 3 Pojok, Campurdarat District. Based on the results of questionnaires and interviews conducted in this service activity, it was found that parents were very enthusiastic and their knowledge increased after attending the counseling. There was an increase in the frequency of parents in fostering and helping their children to study at home. Referring to the results of this counseling activity, it can be concluded that parents should provide mathematical knowledge from an early age to their children, specifically for early grade children, particularly grades 1, 2, and 3. Basic mathematical knowledge can be used as a provision for skills for parents in assisting their children to learn mathematics. Parents can use mathematics teaching aids in the neighborhood in fostering their children to learn mathematics about addition, multiplication and division. Abstrak Peran orangtua terhadap pendidikan sangatlah penting karena membantu perkembangan belajar anak dan menjadi salah satu faktor penentu masa depan anak. Sejak dini anak-anak harus diberikan pendidikan yang terbaik agar memberikan dampak positif bagi anak didik. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah mengetahui pentingnya belajar ilmu matematika, memotivasi dan menumbuhkan minat anak terhadap matematika, mengetahui bagaimana cara mendampingi anak belajar matematika dengan baik, mengetahui pengetahuan belajar matematika yang praktis dan humanis dan metode belajar yang tepat dan menyenangkan bagi anak. Permasalahan yang dihadapi di dusun Pojok yaitu orang tua mempunyai keterbatasan kemampuan dan waktu dalam membimbing belajar matematika anak, anak mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami matematika, orang tua tidak percaya diri membimbing anak belajar matematika. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan berupa ceramah dan tanya jawab. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diikuti oleh orang tua siswa kelas 2 dan 3 SDN 3 Pojok Kecamatan Campurdarat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diperoleh beberapa hasil yaitu dari hasil angket dan wawancara, orang tua sangat antusias dan pengetahuannya bertambah setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Terjadi peningkatan frekuensi orang tua dalam membimbing dan membantu putra-putrinya belajar di rumah. Orang tua hendaknya memberikan pengetahuan matematika sejak dini bagi anak khususnya untuk anak kelas awal yaitu kelas 1, 2,  dan 3. Pengetahuan matematika dasar dapat dijadikan bekal keterampilan bagi orang tua dalam mendampingi anak-anaknya belajar matematika. Orang tua bisa menggunakan alat peraga matematika yang ada di lingkungan sekitar dalam membimbing putra putrinya belajar matematika tentang penjumlahan, perkalian dan pembagian.

<p class="Els-keywords">This paper aims to determine the impact and learning outcomes of Mathematics Class IX students of SMP Negeri 6 Pekalongan in the 2020/2021 academic year on distance learning using Google Suite for Education (GSE). This paper is a best practice carried out in January-February in the even semester of the 2020/2021 school year. The object of this best practice is 32 students of class IXF at SMP Negeri 6 Pekalongan who were selected randomly (random sampling). The method used is descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, observation and documentation. The best practice results show that the use of Google Suite for Education (GSE) can have a positive impact on the mathematics learning process and improve mathematics learning outcomes for class IXF students of SMP Negeri 6 Pekalongan for the 2020/2021 school year. The positive impact is seen from students' activities being more closely monitored and students being active during the learning process and the results of student activity indicators exceeding the target of 70%. The results of learning mathematics are also good, it can be seen from the results of the daily assessment of 32 students, many students who do not complete only 2 people, classical completeness is 94% and the average value is 92. So the completeness value is very high and the average value is also very high.</p>

This research is motivated by the lack of interest of teachers in the use of props in the process of learning mathematics in elementary school. In accordance with the demands of the curriculum in 2013 and supported by the developed learning theory, learning mathematics is abstract object of study, students need an intermediary that props math-ematics, so that students can more easily understand the concepts that will be pre-sented, and in the end it can deliver students to solve mathematical problems, not only that proposed by the teacher but also the problems in life. The purpose of this study was to determine the interest of prospective elementary teachers on the use of props mathematics after getting lectures media and elementary mathematics learning model. By knowing the interest of prospective elementary teachers will be developed further realization of the state of the subject being studied. The method used is descriptive research, then the instruments used were questionnaires and interviews. The results of this study stated that the interest of prospective elementary teachers on the use of props after attending lectures media and elementary mathematics learning model is high over-all with a percentage of 76.70%.Keywords : Interest, Props Mathematics

The use of modules in learning aims so that students can learn independently without or with the guidance of the lecturer. There is no teaching material as a learning guide that meets the needs of students in IT-based mathematics learning courses in the form of LKM, Modules or textbooks.This study aims at finding and examining further the response of students to ICT-based mathematics learning modules. The form of this research is descriptive research. The research subjects of the even semester students are 2018/2019 in ICT-based mathematics learning courses. The instrument used was a student response questionnaire. Data collection techniques using a Likert scale through Google Form. The data was processed using Microsoft Excel 2010. The results showed that student’s responses to the ICT-based mathematics learning module as a whole were positive with an average on the material Aspects, the Interest Aspects of the module and the Module Aspects respectively of 92, 42%, 87 % and 93, 16%.. Thus it can be concluded that ICT-based mathematics learning using modules can be applied.
