Background:  The absence of a corn processing machine is one of the problems experienced by Aur Serumpun farmer groups at Nagari Simpang.  Methodology: The team of community services from Andalas University handed over a corn grinder that can be used to process dry corn into animal feed. The corn milling machine delivered is an electric machine with a small capacity that can be used for small-scale production. Conclusion: Members of the farming group have expressed their gratitude for the procedure of transferring the grinder. The existence of this tool benefits the community significantly because it allows them to make their own feed and sell it to other villages at a lesser cost.

This paper presents the processes to develop a cost-effective small scale 3-axis CNC milling machine. The designed machine tool consisted of stepper motors, bearing, linear guide, ball screw mounting systems, inverter and electronic controller, in which all of these are assembled together in a form of 3-axis operating system. The machine has a built up with the size of 1000 mm (length) × 1000 mm (width) × 650 mm (long) accompanied with a worktable with a dimension of 300 mm (length) × 300 mm (width) × 20 mm (long), and 24,000 rpm maximum spindle speed. To control the movement of the machine, open source software was utilized with the aid of G-Codes to assign the movement of the CNC axes. From the machining test, the machine was found to be capable to machine a metal work piece with high cutting speed and reasonable accuracy. The machine developed in this study offers efficiency and flexibility in the manufacturing production which enables to reduce capital cost due to the small-scale facility.

Nggorang Village, Komodo District, West Maggarai is an area that is quite ideal for the development of cattle and agricultural waste utilization because it is supported by several factors, among others, the carrying capacity of the region where existing water sources can meet the community's water needs throughout the year and the availability of rice straw agricultural waste. The purpose of implementing amoniase feed processing training is to maximize the productivity of cattle farms by utilizing the availability of natural resources while empowering rice straw agricultural waste as the main source of feed by utilizing feed processing technology. therefore, training in rice straw feed processing technology has become the largest agricultural waste in Nggorang Village. Based on the results of existing activities, there is an increase in farmers' understanding that is achieved. Thus the Nggorang village is expected to be able to increase the independence of the village community through partner farmer groups that are able to optimize livestock productivity through the independence and adequacy of animal feed in Nggorang Village, Komodo District, West Manggarai, NTT.

Background: This activity was carried out in order to transfer corn processing technology to become a food product that could increase food product diversification in in Simpang village, Pasaman District, West Sumatera Province. Methodology: Tortilla chips as a derivative of corn were introduced through oral presentations and group discussion forums by the representative team from Andalas University together with “Aur Serumpun” Farmer groups at Simpang village, Pasaman District, West Sumatera Province. Conclusion: Information about corn processing into tortilla chips could be an alternative to multiple the types of products that can be produced by the farmer groups “Aur Serumpun”. Recently, they only produce one type of product, namely raw corn products which are directly sold to the animal feed industry. Although farmers were not very enthusiastic, continuous communication with farmers will increase their awareness of diversifying maize products that can support their economy in the future.

The aim of the study was to analyze: (1) integration of beef cattle and oil palm plantations and development potential; and (2) the constraints faced in the implementation of integration programs of beef cattle and oil palm plantations. The study was conducted at farmer groups (Lubuak Gadang) in the vilage of Luhak Nan Duo County, District of East Pasaman. The study used survey method and direct observation to localized research using questionnaires. The results showed that the integration between beef cattle and oil palm plants not take place optimally, oil palm waste is not utilization for animal feed, while the use of organic vertilizer for oil palm crop has reached 100% in the form of unprocessed vertilizer. Obstacles encountered in the implementation of the integration of beef cattle and crops are oil palm farmers lack knowledge about integration and limited their knowledge of livestock waste treatment technology and feed processing of oil palm crop waste, so that the application of the integration between beef cattle and crop oil palm is not optimal.Key words: Beef cattle integration, oil palm, District of west Pasaman

In Vietnam, the construction of hydropower projects has contributed significantly in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. The place where hydropower projects are built is mostly inhabited by ethnic minorities - communities that rely primarily on land, a very important source of livelihood security. In the context of the lack of common productive land in resettlement areas, the orientation for agricultural production is to promote indigenous knowledge combined with increasing scientific and technical application; shifting from small-scale production practices to large-scale commodity production. However, the research results of this article show that many obstacles in the transition process are being posed such as limitations on natural resources, traditional production thinking or the suitability and effectiveness of scientific - technical application models. When agricultural production does not ensure food security, a number of implications for people’s lives are increasingly evident, such as poverty, preserving cultural identity, social relations and resource protection. Since then, it has set the role of the State in researching and building appropriate agricultural production models to exploit local strengths and ensure sustainability.

The prevention of Diabetic Mellitus (DM) and its complications is the main aim of this study, in addition to the training of lotion foot care application and the development of small scale industry. The research team delivered knowledge in the form of training on Diabetic Mellitus, healthy food, treatment and prevention of complications, and small-scale production of cosmetic products. The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between training on diabetic and lotion foot care application as preventive measures against diabetic complications on the patient's blood glucose levels in the community of residents in Banyuurip Jaya, Surabaya. It was expected from this training that the knowledge of the residents increases and people living with diabetic undergo lifestyle changes and therefore blood sugar levels can be controlled. The parameters measured in this research were blood glucose levels, the anti diabetic drug types consumed, and compliance on diabetics. This study used the data taken from 60 patients with DM over a period of one month. Questionnaires and log books was used to retrieve data and changes in blood glucose levels in diabetic patients. The results showed the demographic data of patients with type 2 diabetic of 85% female and 15% male, with the range of patients aged of 61-70 years of 46.67% and had history of diabetic (90%). The history of drugs consumed by respondents was anti diabetic drugs such as metformin (40%), glimepiride (33.37%) and insulin (6.67%). In addition, the increased knowledge of DM patients after being given the training compared to before training was shown in several questions in the questionnaire. A statistical analysis using t-test analyzed a correlation between training provided in order to enhance understanding of the patient, as well as correlation with blood glucose levels. A paired T-test showed that there was a relationship between the knowledge of trainees before and after training (p less than 0.05). An interesting result was that there was no relationship between blood glucose levels before and after training provided (p> 0.05).

The purpose of science and technology activities for the community is to provide skills to farmers groups inutilizing the potential of existing natural resources as an alternative to ducks, utilizing high-protein ammonia bran, andmaking herbs as additive feed. Specific targets to be achieved are the fulfillment of livestock nutrition needs, especiallyducks with resource utilization with the fulfillment of food needs. Not only use the feed without processing. Through thisactivity farmers and agricultural extension, workers are expected to synergize to learn to utilize available local food, raising public awareness to utilize local resources into the nutrient-rich feed. Method of implementation of activities to becarried out is the socialization of activities on farmer groups, training for members of farmer groups, how to make a feedwith some feed processing technology and assistance to farmers. Output target IbM program is an alternative ration forducks, ammonia bran as a source of protein, herbal medicine. The method used is PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) /RRA (Rapid Rural Appraisal). Learning methods, extension training, training, and visits (Laku), field school education(SL), demonstration plots, guidance and mentoring, learning by doing. The resulting results of the system. Breeders arenot familiar with feed processing technology and farmers have not utilized local feed as a constituent of rations. Thetechnology applied to the breeder group is to use herbal ingredients as a feed additive, making silage as a source ofprotein one source for duck livestock
