This study aims to design a new theoretical framework to help the Holy Quran memorizers not only to memories the verses but also to retain them. This design goes in accordance with the new perspective of data processing which points to the fact that profound data processing has a great impact on remembering the verses through three major ways: Keyword Method as a code for the word to be remembered, Colour as a way to recall information as evident by a number of research studies and Story Strategy as a way to enable recalling of verses by linking the words to be remembered with an innovative story with reference to the science of event; Surat Al Hadid as an example. In order to prove the effectiveness of this proposal, a descriptive analysis and semi experimental study was conducted on a sample of Holy Quran Circle students ‘Halaqah’. 80 male and female students were divided into four groups, two experimental groups and two controlled groups. The findings of the study have demonstrated positive effect of the proposed model in ease of memorizing verses of the Holy Quran. The results show that there is a significant difference between male and female in goodness of their hafiz for favor of male group.

The instrument used is an Emotional Intelligence Instrument consisting of 40 items .Descriptive analysis using the percentage formula to describe and identify differences in emotional intelligence of male and female students using the t-test. The findings of the study indicate that the emotional intelligence of women is still higher (1.28%) than for men, and there is a significant difference between the emotional intelligence of male and female students. Implication discussed further.

Background: Anxiety is one of the most common psychological problems after myocardial infarction and can lead to many problems in acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Two possible ways to reduce anxiety are to listen to music and to recite the Holy Quran, the effects of which have never been compared to date. Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the effect of listening to instrumental music and listening to Quran recitation on the anxiety level of patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods: This semi-experimental study was conducted among 96 patients with ACS referred to Hajar Hospital, Shahrekord, Iran, from 3/10/2019 to 4/30/2019. The patients were entered into the study using the convenience sampling method and then randomly assigned to the three groups of Quran recitation, instrumental music, and control. In this study, the patients’ anxiety level was measured using Spielberger’s state-trait anxiety inventory (STAI) before and after listening to Quran recitation and instrumental music. Data were analyzed by SPSS version 16 using descriptive and analytical tests, including paired samples t-test, Chi-square, and one-way ANOVA. Results: Anxiety level decreased from 43.1 ± 6.15 to 38.5 ± 3.82 in Quran recitation group (P < 0.001) and from 44.2 ± 1.21 to 39.1 ± 4.17 in the instrumental music group (P = 0.035), and from 46.3 ± 3.84 to 44.7 ± 6.21 in the control group (P < 0.001). There was no significant difference between the three groups before the program. However, the mean score of anxiety level showed a significant difference, indicating that listening to Quran recitation had a greater effect than listening to instrumental music in reducing the patients’ anxiety (P = 0.02). Conclusions: Both interventions can be useful in decreasing the anxiety level of patients with ACS; however, the Holy Quran recitation had a greater effect in this regard.

What is the matter of creation of human? This question has been addressed since long back in the history from ancient Indian and Egyptian civilizations to the Greeks and until the advent of modern sciences. The answers to this question were varying and led to various ideologies about the paternity of the newborn and the role and importance of women in society. More or less the concept was that the human is formed from the male semen and female menstrual blood where semen is the actual matter of formation and the part of the female is just to nourish and nurture; until it is proved by the modern science that both male and female gametes equally take part in the formation of the embryo. However, the Islamic Holy Scripture, the Quran, and the narrations from Islamic prophet (PBUH) and the descriptions of the Islamic scholars stand in opposition to these concepts and have a stunning correlation with the modern scientific descriptions of the embryology.

Faithfulness and equivalence are two issues that gained the attention of many scholars in the translation field. It has always been presumed that a faithful translation is the one that could achieve equivalence at its maximum level. However, one theory of translation, namely, the Skopos theory, suggests that the aim or Skopos of a translation should be the target of a translator. Adopting such a theory, equivalence does not mean sameness; it rather means achieving the least dissimilarness. In relation to this, a translation of the Holy Quran is supposed to target conveying the primary meaning of the source text (ST) and its function rather than unachievably aiming at rendering its stylistic features. This study aims to highlight the problems faced in the translation of some verses of the Holy Quran and how they can be handled from a different theoretical and practical perspective and in regard to the Skopos theory. To this end, six verses ( ayahs) from the Chapter of the Heights and the Chapter of Cattle were purposively selected and analyzed. Frequent problems and loss in translation were found in the translations of Abdel Haleem, Pickthall, Shakir, and Sarwar. This study, guided by the Skopos theory with some modifications, suggests a new perspective in the translation of the Holy Quran. It also provides a more applicable definition of faithfulness in the translation of the Holy Quran.

AbstractThis study aimed to investigate the usefulness of Omani distance-learning program to teach the Holy Quran and identify its advantages and disadvantages as viewed by the program stakeholders (administrators, teachers, students). The study used both analytical and descriptive approaches. The study sample was selected using purposive sampling to be representative of the study community of administrators, teachers and students. A survey questionnaire, consists of 19 statements, was designed and measured to ensure its validity and reliability. The findings indicated high satisfaction among the stakeholders on most items of the questionnaire with regard to the educational components of the program with a mean score of 4.16. Additionally, the findings showed that there was no statistically significant difference between the stakeholders’ views in terms of the gender, both male and female, variables. The study recommended that the program administrators should work to enhance the positive aspects of the program highlighted by the study and to avoid the passivity emerged from the study..AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan menyelidiki kegunaan program pembelajaran jarak jauh di Oman untuk mengajarkan Al-Quran dan untuk mengidentifikasi kelebihan dan kekurangan yang dilihat oleh para pemangku kepentingan program (administrator, guru, siswa). Human beings are deeply related to land. Human beings take birth on land, live on land, die on land and mixes with land ultimately. As stated in the holy Quran: ‘We (Allah) created you (human beings) from the soil, we shall make you return to the soil and We shall call you back again from the soil’ (20:55). Human life is surrounded by soil i.e. land. So, land is a highly completed issue of human life involving economic, social, political, cultural and often religious systems. Land administration is thus a critical element and often a pre-condition for peaceful society and sustainable development. In administrating land, Khatian or record of rights plays a vital role to determine the rights and interests of the respective parties as supportive evidence. In this article, discussion is mainly made on the fact that Khatian or record of rights is not a document of title solely but it may be an evidence of title as well as possession.
