Moral is the most important part of the pillars of Islam besides monotheism (tawhid) and the Shari'a. These three aspects are used as the basis of implementation for adherents, both in the application in the family environment, work environment, community environment, even wider environment, namely nation and state. For that reason, of course it is very important for us to know the details related to this character. The focus of this research is on the application and inculcation of moral values in Integrated Islamic Middle School Fithrah Insani, which until now has two branches of education units. This research uses a descriptive-analytic method with qualitative case study type. This research uses primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques carried out by interview , observation, literature, and documentation. As a conclusion, it was found that inculcation of moral values in Integrated Islamic Middle School Fithrah Insani was implemented in the activities of Recitation of the Qur'an (TTQ), Mentoring / Character Building, MABIT / CAMP, Assigning Students to Learn and Look for Teachers to Teach Themselves Outside School, and Public Lecture .  Keywords: Moral Value, Akhlak, Integrated Islamic School, Fithrah Insani

This study attempts to analyze a fairy tale novel entitled “The Adventure of Pinocchio”, which talks about the story of the irrepressible marionette who longed to become a real boy. This study focuses on revealing the categories of moral value and describing the building children's character implied in this novel. To analyze this novel, the researcher uses two principles theory to find out the objectives of the studies. There are moral values argued by Linda & Eyre and the theory of children’s character building based on Lewis. The method of this study is qualitative research, which means it does not need statistical procedure to analyze the material. This study merely uses “The Adventure of Pinocchio,” a novel by Carlo Collodi, translated into English version by Carol Della Chiesa as the primary data source. At the same time, the secondary data sources are taken from other literary books and related references to support and complete the primary data. As a result, the researcher finds that some elements of moral values such as love and affection, sensitivity and not-selfish, bravery, self-discipline, and moderation occurred in the content of the novel. Meanwhile, building children's character can be implied through “The Adventure of Pinocchio's” fairy tale: honesty, responsible, regard, respect, and compassionated.

The aims or this research are to analyze the moral values ​​and principles of moral values that are delivered in the "Kick boxer" movie. To strengthen this analysis, the qualitative research methods are used by using two data sources, namely primary and secondary data. Primary data is “kick boxer" movie, where the data are carefully recorded from the movie based on the problem formulation. Secondary data is taken from other sources related to the analysis, such as journals, e-books, and websites. Based on the analysis, the findings of moral values ​​are presented in: (1) Trustworthiness; (2) Respect; (3) Responsibility; (4) Fairness; (5) Caring and the principles of moral values ​​present are: (1) Respect for rules; (2) Avoidance of illicit Operation. Furthermore, from these findings too, that moral values ​​and the principles of moral values ​​are a way of human life that reflect good behaviors that are very important and valuable things in human social life, in terms of getting peace, mutual help, happiness, and good goals

Moral Value is a value that affects individual and social behavior in behaving. The current study aimedto find the categories of moral values that John Green tries to convey in The Fault in Our Stars noveland to interpret its meaning by using the theory of Universal Moral Values by Kinnier et. al with fourmajor moral values. To be able to understand moral values in the story without misinterpretation andthe lessons can be applied in real life. This study used the qualitative method because it focuses ondescribing and interpreting the moral values in descriptive. The primary source of data is taken fromthe novel The Fault in Our Stars in the form of narrations and the secondary data is from previousstudies in the form of statements that comes from the study findings. The results of the current studyshow that the categories of moral values found in the novel are (1) Commitment to something greaterthan oneself, (2) Self-respect, but with humility, self-discipline, and acceptance of personalresponsibility, and (3) Respect and caring for others, while the moral value that is not found is (4)Caring for other living things and environment which indicates that John Green inserted moral valuesin the novel more about the personal lives of the characters and the relationships between them, whichto civilize it, readers, to have the moral as an individual, being good to other people and to believe tosomething greater.

Folklore is a story that originated in society and developed in society in the past which played an important role in the development of children's character learning in the form of moral values. The purpose of this study was to explain the moral values contained in folklore to improve character education. This study used a qualitative descriptive research design. Where all the data collected is based on books and other supporting document data. From the discussion of the Timun Mas folklore, there are eight prominent moral values, namely religious values, independent values, curiosity values, hard work values, responsibility values, honesty values, creativity, the value of the spirit of hard work. And from the research results, it can be concluded that the folklore of Timun Mas has many moral values that can be applied in the world of Education to shape character.


This research was attempted to analyze the concept of the integrated Islamic school in improving student’s social solidarity value awareness through student’s learning community-based mentoring (called as Islamic Character Building or BinaPribadi Islam/BPI) conducted in Nur Hidayah Integrated Islamic Junior High School (SMPIT Nur Hidayah). This research applied qualitative research design by doing a case study on seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students. Based on the result of the analysis, it is found that the type of mentoring activity held by SMPIT NurHidayah is the type of mentoring using the coeval group approach guided by teachers. The applying of learning community of BPIuses seven continuous cycles; namely: inquiry, action research, data analysis, planning, action, reflection and evaluation. The improvement of students’ solidarity value awareness in SMPIT Nur Hidayah of Surakarta is conducted through several BPI agendas; such as: observing environment (the activity to contemplate God’s creations and its phenomenon), camping, rihlah/trip which is aimed to raise the character of understanding and caring among the students. Those activities are strengthened by raising the values of togetherness and not discriminating others (for example by making a futsal team randomly), raising the sense of belonging (for example by visiting friends who get sick), and helping friends who have problem in both academic and non-academic case

This research was motivated by a condition that reading of Syi’ir as a culture in society<br />decreased. Whereas, Syi’ir contained a lot of good values related to children’s character building. Through field research method, philology, and documentary research, this study found that Syi’ir Ngudi Susilo was Syi’ir that contains children’s moral value to build their character. Syi’ir Ngudi Susilo consists of a very useful basic moral value to  develop of children’s character. The Basic moral embedded in Syi’ir Ngudi Susilo were respect and responsibility. Respect would bring children to have polite in personality and behavior based on the moral value. From respect, children would have a responsible character that would create self-consciousness to do moral act. By those two basic moral values, respect and responsibility, then children would grow with noble characters.

In this study, the writer chose the “Akeelah and the Bee” novel to be analyzed the important of moral values as a part of our life. For that reason the writer wants to investigate and doing research in the library. The formulation of problem in this research is “ What are the moral values as reflected in the novel “ Akeelah and the Bee”. The methodology of this study is qualitative study. it is means that it does not need statistic approach to explore the material. The primary data is scrip from the movie “Akeelah and the Bee”. The secondary data is taken from many literary books and some relevant materials to support and complete the primary data sources. The result of this study is there are some moral values in the “Akeelah and the Bee” novel. They are love and affection, sacrifice, sorry and Apologize, optimism, honesty, kind and friendly, hardworker, ambition, not easily to surrender, firm, serious and discipline, and helper.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menderskripsikan strategi kepala sekolah, guru, orang tua, dan masyarakat dalam pembentukan karakter siswa di sekolah dasar. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti sendiri. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipasi dan dokumentasi. Responden penelitian bersifat snow-ball. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Creswell (2014). Keabsahan data digunakan kriteria kredibilitas, transferabilitas, dependabilitas, dan komfirmabilitas. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah strategi kepala sekolah dalam membentuk karakter siswa dengan filosofis kepemimpinan, keteladanan, kedisiplinan, kepemimpinan instruksional, kepemimpinan mutu, serta pemberdayaan guru dan tenaga kependidikan. Strategi guru adalah keteladanan, pembiasaan, dan sentuhan kalbu. Strategi orang tua dan masyarakat adalah komunikasi efektif dan kemitraan efektif. Kata Kunci: strategi, kepala sekolah, guru, masyarakat, karakter THE LEADERSHIP STRATEGIES OF SCHOOL PRINCIPALS, TEACHERS, PARENTS, AND THE COMMUNITIES IN BUILDING THE STUDENTS’ CHARACTER Abstract: This study was aimed to analyze the strategies of the school principals, teachers, parents, and communitiesinbuilding the student character in elementary schools. This study used the qualitative approach using the case study type. The research instrumentswere researhers themselves. The data were collected using the in-depth interview, participation observation, and documentation. The respondents were selected using the snowball sampling technique. The data were analyzed using the model developed by Creswell (2014). The verification of the data was done through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability criteria. The findings showed that the strategies of the school principals in building the students’ character were the philosophy of leadership, modelling, discipline, instructional leadership, quality leadership, and teacher and staff empowerment. The strategies of the teachers were modelling, habituation, and through touching the heart. The strategies of the parents and communities were effective communication and partnership. In order for children to have good moral and avoid violations of moral transgression, there needs to be coaching early moral value to the children in the family. The family environment is a place where children are raised and are the first to live by a child in their life, so that what the children see and feel in the family will be able to influence the growth and development of a child’s soul. In order for the child to have good moral then the first step we must keep to our children has so that the children have strong faith. The process of building the values of the faith to be implanted to children can be started from birth to adulthood. When born is introduced a good sentence or can we say the sentence Toyibah, then after they grow and develop into children, then the first we must do is the values of religion related to the faith so that the child believes in the presence of God and can know God with his confidence. Along with that, children are guided by the moral value itself such as a good-spoken way of good dress, such as the values of honesty you eat a simple live koi fish, patience and others. Moreover, in order that children have good moral values also in the family, especially between mother and father must maintain the harmony of relations between the two is to be a example and his children.

Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan pembinaan karakter dan hambatan penyertaannya dilihat dari teori role taking pada masyarakat “Griya Kota“Tulungagung. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Proses pembinaan karakter dan moral anak pada tahap persiapan awal dilakukan dengan mengenalkan nilai-nilai agama sejak dini. Media yang digunakan bisa audio maupun visual dengan konten religious. Detail tahap perkembangan dan kebutuhan kesehatan anak untuk kesiapan membangun karakter sangat diperhatikan. Pada tahap play stage lebih selektif dalam memilih tayangan media dan juga teman bermain bagi anak. Sementara di tahap gama stage, berupaya memberikan contoh baik terhadap anak dengan ucapan dan perilaku keseharian mereka serta menambah intensitas pengawasan meskipun tidak secara langsung untuk memastikan perkembangan anak. Pada tahap generalized others para orang tua lebih memberikan kepercayaan pada anak untuk mengembangkan kecakapan dengan dukungan fasilitas dan doa. Minimalisasi hambatan dibangun melalui komunikasi yang baik pada semua pihak dengan mengedepankan keguyuban warga melalui berbagai media, sekaligus menjadi teladan yang inspiratif.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This study aims to explain the character building and the obstacles of viewers seen from the role-taking theory in the community "Griya Kota" Tulungagung. The research method used a qualitative approach with a case study type. The results showed the process of fostering the character and morals of children in the early preparation stage is done by introducing religious values from an early age. The media used can be both audio and visual with religious content. Detailed stages of development and the health needs of children for the readiness to build character is noticed. In the play stage more selective in choosing media impressions and also playmates for children. While in the game stage, trying to provide good examples of children with their daily sayings and behaviors and increase the intensity of supervision, although not directly to ensure the development of children. At the stage of generalized others, the parents are more confident in the child to develop skills with the support of facilities and prayers. To minimize barriers is built through good communication on all sides in the same manner, as well as being an inspirational example.
