Currently, Indonesia's national education is still facing various problems. Achievement of educational outcomes still do not meet the expected results. Learning in schools has not been able to fully shape the personality of graduates who reflect the character and culture. The educational process still focuses and focuses on cognitive achievements. Meanwhile, the affective aspect of students which is a strong provision for living in society has not been developed in schools. Schools as centers of change need to seriously seek education based on the character and culture of the nation. National character and culture developed in schools must be aligned with local, regional and national character and culture. For this reason, character education and national culture need to be developed based on local wisdom.

PENGEMBANGAN PENDIDIKAN BUDAYA DAN KARAKTER BANGSA MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIASince the implementation of Curriculum 2013, the discussion on the National Character and Culture Education Program, which was started from 2011, has been seen to be decline lately. However, a deeper look at the program’s fundamentals shows that it is indeed relevant with the newly curriculum since topics on national character and culture education are inherent parts of the subject of Indonesian Language, one of compulsory subjects taught at Indonesian schools. This article shows how phases in texts-based Indonesian Language teaching and learning, which comprises  of teacher modeling, group composition tasks, and individual composition tasks, are effective steps in teaching national culture and national character to learners.Keywords: National culture and character, Texts-based Bahasa Indonesia Learning and TeachingAbstrakSejak pelaksanaan Kurikulum 2013, Karakter Nasional dan Program Pendidikan Kebudayaan, yang dimulai dari 2011, telah terlihat penurunan pembahasannya akhir-akhir ini. Namun, jika dilihat lebih dalam pada fundamental program menunjukkan bahwa memang relevan dengan kurikulum baru karena topik pada pendidikan karakter nasional dan pendidikan budaya merupakan bagian yang melekat dari pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, salah satu mata pelajaran wajib yang diajarkan di sekolah-sekolah Indonesia. The diversity of values   in Pancasila is the basic capital for character education as the basis of the strength of the character of the Indonesian. The paper seeks to set up an Islamic character education based on the Pancasila-digging theological values   of Islam with the values   of local traditions, cultures and customs of the archipelago. This study is very important given the fact that so far the character, structure, and methods of character education are too oriented to the West by forgetting even ignoring the ideology and values   of the Nusantara character. The approach in this study is descriptive literature review. By transmitting Pancasila’s values   in family life to children, it will make the children make Pancasila’s views as a teaching doctrine, dogma or philosophy that must be practiced in the life of society. Pancasila’s revitalization and re-actualization as a philosophical and ideological foundation of the implementation of the character education system in Indonesia, including the implementation of national character education, cannot be negotiable. This is so that Pancasila can be actualized in everyday life within the family, school, community and in the life of nation and state as an educational process.

Education system constitutes an important stage in growing, developing, and strengthening the character of younger generation. This means that the objectives of education at the institutional level (school) can be a representation of the goals of national education that covers character education. The study aimed to describe the implementation of the curriculum of local Islamic content through curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular programs at SMP (Sekolah Menengah Pertama/junior high school) Al-Amanah Cileunyi to shape the character of students in accordance with Islamic morals. This study applied a naturalistic qualitative approach. The approach is used due to the problems that are currently occurring naturally at the present time, namely student character education at SMP Al-Amanah Cileunyi. The research finding showed that  SMP Al-Amanah Cileunyi has a local Islamic content curriculum, both as a subject matter and an extra-curricular activity, Islamic local content that applies at SMP Al-Amanah Cileunyi featuring character values that are originated from the Islamic teachings, and eighteen national character values as determined by the government, and the implementation of Islamic local content is through the activities of self-development, habituation, extra-curricular, exemplary, and the integration of character education within learning process. However, there are some problems encountered in its implementation, among others due to inconsistent attitudes of school community and the gap between character education programs and their implementation. The result of character education through the implementation of Islamic local content is shown by the qualitative scores in the report book, and the increasing trust of parents and the community to SMP Al-Amanah Cileunyi.

<p><em>Pancasila education is a group of general compulsory courses (MKWU) taught in universities with the aim that students have the character of the Indonesian nation. Building national character is part of the goals of national education which must be carried out continuously at various levels of educational units. This study aims to identify the implementation of character education in higher education through a case study learning model in the Pancasila education course. In the learning process, Pancasila lecturers must be creative in using learning models so that Pancasila values are embedded so that they become student attitudes and characters. Through the case study learning model, the goal of Pancasila education to shape student character is expected to be achieved effectively. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The research method by collecting and recording detailed data from various problems related to the object of research is then analyzed comprehensively. The results showed that; 1) the case study learning model can improve the cognitive aspects of students towards the values of Pancasila. 2) The case study learning model can improve the student's perspective on the values of Pancasila. 3) The case study learning model can internalize the values of Pancasila into student attitudes and character.</em><em></em></p>

The purpose of this article is to contextualize the various inspirational stories of the Prophet Muhammad summarized in the Sirah Nabawiyah. The exploration of inspired stories will place more emphasis on the period before prophetic revelation, so as to minimize the reasons for mankind's inability to make Muhammad a role model and an inspirational figure. The contextualization of thought in sirah nabawiyah was carried out using the hermeneutic approach as a method in the tradition of Paul Ricoeur's thought. Hermeneutics in the Paul Ricoeur tradition tries to go beyond modern interpretation which seeks to find an understanding of the meaning between the interpreter and the writer. Therefore, it is possible to produce new meanings of sirah nabawiyah accompanied by a subjective reflection process that is linked to the contextual background. This article generates contextualization and new meanings of the inspirational story of the prophet Muhammad in Sirah Nabawiyah to become eighteen values ​​of character education based on national culture. These character values ​​will be embedded in every level of Indonesian national education.

The Impact

Realizing the character building on students is a national education goal. The character education is very important for the students. Therefore, the socialization and enculturation of national character education in schools by using an effective and efficient method are needed. This study aims to understand the process of socialization of character education in elementary school, to find the effective way of socialization models of national character education for students in elementary school through comics, and to determine the impact of socialization models of national character education for students in elementary school through the comic for the character building of students. This research was conducted using qualitative methods (Research & Development). The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation. The results show that the socialization of the nations character education in primary schools is done in several ways; integrated with in the curriculum through the school management, and through extracurricular programs. Those ways do not seem to produce maximum results. Socialization model of the national character of education in the elementary schools through the comic is more effective to apply, because students are more interested in the visualization of interesting and familiar images.Menyadari pembangunan karakter siswa adalah tujuan pendidikan nasional. Pendidikan karakter sangat penting bagi para siswa. Oleh karena itu, sosialisasi dan enkulturasi pendidikan karakter bangsa di sekolah-sekolah dengan menggunakan metode yang efektif dan efisien diperlukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami proses sosialisasi pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar, untuk menemukan cara yang efektif untuk model sosialisasi pendidikan karakter bangsa bagi siswa di sekolah dasar melalui komik, dan untuk menentukan dampak dari model sosialisasi pendidikan karakter bangsa bagi siswa di sekolah dasar melalui komik untuk membangun karakter siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif (Research & Development). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi pendidikan karakter bangsa di sekolah dasar ini dilakukan dengan beberapa cara, terintegrasi dengan subjek termasuk, melalui manajemen sekolah, dan melalui program ekstrakurikuler. Mereka cara tampaknya tidak menghasilkan hasil yang maksimal. Model Sosialisasi karakter nasional pendidikan di sekolah dasar melalui komik lebih efektif untuk diterapkan, karena siswa lebih tertarik pada visualisasi gambar yang menarik dan akrab.

Education-based on character and culture is urgent to be developed in Indonesia to maintain the integrity of the Indonesian nation in the future. This development must be carried out jointly by elements of educational institutions. In Indonesia, three educational institutions can develop the fundamental values of character education, namely pesantren, madrasah, and schools. This research using a qualitative approach has revealed national character education and culture in Islamic Boarding Schools, Madrasah, and Schools, namely at the Brotonegaran 2 Ponorogo State Elementary School Ibtidaiyah Madrasah Mayak Ponorogo and Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School Sukorejo Ponorogo. The research found two suggestions that need to be considered by pesantren, madrasah and schools, namely the development of character education and national culture should be carried out sustainably and does not need to be taught but developed habituation and example.

Value, culture and character education is an effort to improve the quality of the process and learning outcomes that lead to the formation of the character of students who are characterized by national culture. These cultural values and characters are the pride of the nation and make the nation known by other nations as a nation that has a distinctive Indonesian character. Education has a function in developing cultural values and past achievements into a proud element for the present and future life so that it becomes a strong foundation for national character. Value education, culture and national character are important points that must emerge in the learning process in the classroom. Integration of the three in the learning process, especially mathematics learning, is intended as a process of introducing values and culture, facilitating the acquisition of awareness of the importance of values and culture in the behavior of students through daily learning processes that take place both inside and outside the classroom on all math subjects. Meaning And Purpose

Islamic education is an educational process that originates from the Qur'an and as-Sunnah. Al-Qur'an has included various character values in the stories of prophets and apostles. This study aims to describe the character values contained in the Qur'an. These values have relevance to the values of character education in Indonesia. This study uses a research library research approach by examining the values of character education in the Koran. The references used are books relating to the interpretation of the Koran and text-based character education books. The results found are 1) there are 17 character values in the Qur'an. (2) these values are relevant to the character values that have been set by national education because of the similarity of meaning and purpose, namely students have character as civilized individuals in all aspects of life. This research is a paper that makes the Qur'an as the main object of discussion. Therefore the results of this study can be used by Muslims as a reference in various educational institutions and propaganda.
