The role of advertising across cultures can be touched upon quite differently. Therefore, translators should approach advertisements unequally in a particular culture. The translation of advertisement has gradually expanded as a result of the rise of globalization and trade intensification, and that necessitated that companies communicate with consumers of different cultures.The present study aims at investigating how sociocultural variables which play a vital role in advertisement are dealt with cross-linguistically. It first introduces a theoretical background that discusses the concept of culture and its impact on translation, as well as the major translation strategies used to deal with cultural issues. It, moreover, attempts to answer the question about how cultural variables affect the process of translation and the selection of an appropriate equivalent. To answer this question, seven ads, along with their translations, have been selected and subjected to a thorough analysis. The article comes up with some conclusions, the most important of which are: cultural domination plays a more pivotal role in translating ads than in other text types, that the translation strategies used for rendering an ad between English and Arabic range from literal translation to rewriting, with free translation to be of a higher frequency, that specific translation methods, such as transliteration, have been overused. Finally, the study has shown a growing tendency in Arabic to depart the traditional cultural aspects of writing and translating an ad and move towards those of the English-speaking culture.

Practice of hand hygiene is a very ancient concept of personal cleanliness which reflects in several religious and practiced in numerous cultures. It is worth to consider the grounds of religious and cultural issues in promoting hand hygiene in healthcare services in order to be more effective. Objectives: To study the review of literature of religious and cultural aspects of hand hygiene in healthcare accreditations. Methods: It is a descriptive study in which the several literatures on religious and cultural aspects of hand hygiene in healthcare accreditations were studied. Significance of Research: Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) are major threat to patient safety which increases the length of stay, long-term disability, increased resistance of microorganisms to antimicrobials, massive additional financial burden, high costs for patients and their families, and excess deaths. Data Collections: The data was collected from relevant published journals, articles, research papers, academic literature and web portals. Conclusion: Community behaviour influences health care worker’s professional behaviour has been supported by insufficient scientific facts until now. There are no data existing on the impact of religious customs on hand hygiene observance in health-care settings where religion is very deep-seated.

<p><em>The aims of the study are  to identify types of sentences in the CIF sponsor letters and the text function or translation purpose in target text; to describe the translation techniques, methods, and ideology in achieving the translation purpose; to identify the impact of the translation techniques, methods, and ideology applied to the translation quality in terms of the accuracy of the accuracy, acceptability and readability; and to assess the translation techniques, methods and ideology selected in achieving the translation purpose.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>This study is a descriptive, qualitative research and focused on a single case. Sources of the data were 10 pairs CIF sponsor letters and the informants who gave information about accuracy, acceptability and readability of translation. Techniques of collecting data were document analysis, queestionnaires and FGD. Purposive sampling was applied in this research.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>Findings of this research show the followings. The types of sentenses are declaratives,interrogatives, imperatives and exclamatives. The result shows 15 functions of illocutionary act. There are 14 kinds of translation techniques to overcome the translation problems, 13,67% tends to the source text and 86,33% tents to the target text. The translation methods tends to communicative translation method and free translation method with domestication ideology. The impact of the the application of those translation techniques, methods and ideology toward the quality of translation is satisfactory with the average score of 2,84. This value indicates the accuracy, acceptance and readability of this translation is satisfactory. Related with the purpose of translation, the translation in this research successed  in achieving text function or translation purpose.</em></p><p> </p><p><strong>Keywords: </strong><em>Translation, Translation technique, Translation method, Translation ideology, Translation quality</em></p><p><strong> </strong></p>

Anisul Hoque’s Ayeshamangal (2010) has been a text of quite critical acclamation in Bangladesh due to its presentation of acourageous village woman, Ayesha- who struggles in the context of post-independent political turmoil in Bangladesh insynchronization of a legendary figure in Bengali folk myth, Behula. This study provides a reading of Ayeshamangal’sEnglish translation, The Ballad of Ayesha (2018), in order to find out the cultural implications in the source text (ST) and thetarget text (TT). Translators face the problem of treating the cultural aspects of a ST and then its appropriate transfer to theTT and target language (TL). In this novel, the translator faces such a dilemma on various occasions. The ST extensively usesa certain dialect of the source language (SL). This paper investigates the transfer of this dialect of Rangpur region to thetarget language (TL).The paper examines the techniques used by the translator to successfully convey the aspects of Bengaliculture into the TL of the novel. This study also focuses on translations of certain lexical contents, ways of life and the mythof Behula. Thus, the current paper investigates the translation strategies and procedures used in the TT from certaintheoretical perspectives in translation studies and argues that the translator attempts for an overall equivalent effect in the TT,though he fails to provide the taste of important cultural aspects of Bangladesh to the TT readers.

The present cross-sectional empirical study investigates the different types of strategies and methods that the undergraduate students employ when translating from their native language into the target language and vice versa. The study was conducted on one hundred twenty, third and fourth year, students at the College of Science and Arts, King Khalid University. The data were collected through translation tasks and questionnaires. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to analyze and interpret the data collected to achieve the objectives of this study. The study revealed valuable information. The most favored strategies by Arab college students were literal translation, free translation and word-for-word translation respectively. More than half of the all used strategies were literal translation with a percentage of about fifty-five. The mixed translation strategies were found to be about twenty one percent for all the three levels. Free translation strategy was only fourteen percent which is, somehow, a low percentage. The students showed considerable improvement as they progress from one level to a higher one. It is expected that translation instructors as well as course designers will reflect on the findings of this study by raising the learners&rsquo; awareness of the great differences between English and Arabic when teaching or designing translation courses. Parallel texts that include literal translation as well as free translation have to be included to show the deficiency and ungrammaticality of the texts produced when applying literal translation.

The first goal of the research was to figure out translation methods and shifts applied in translating bilingual textbooks of History, Mathematics, and Physics, Those bilingual textbooks were published by Quadra, Yramawidia, and Yudhisthira, used for grade seven in Medan. The second was to figure out the impact of translation methods and shifts which dominant on translation quality. The third was to recommend better bilingual textbooks to use based on the translation quality point of view. The research used a descriptive qualitative research method with a questionnaire, depth-interview, and observation on a pair of translation to collect the data. The data were analyzed with interactively and non-interactively. Based on the data analysis, the research finds that (1) the dominant shift on History textbook is unit shift while the dominant method is a free translation, the dominant shift on Physics is a unit shift and dominant method is a communicative translation, the dominant shift on Mathematics is structure shift and dominant method is communicative translation. The second finding is that the impact of the dominant translation shift and method on the History textbook is negative. At the same time, in Mathematics and Physics are positive. Third, the research; the researcher recommends bilingual textbooks of Mathematics and Physics to use based on translation quality point of view. The well bilingual textbooks can improve students’ language skills, while low translation quality influences bad development to students on learning the language.

This paper discusses the design and implementation of a task-oriented collaborative learning (and training) experimental project that was carried out with future language teachers. More specifically, a class of sixteen French students enrolled in a Masters of Education course were asked to create multimedia resources for a group of Australian students with no prior knowledge of French. This paper deals only with issues concerning French students’ multimedia creations, not with the second phase of interactions with the Australian target group. The theoretical background is situated and collaborative learning and training: the French students worked in pairs, creating multimedia activities based on their culture for real students in a different location. They communicated with each other during weekly classes and via a groupware tool. A triangulated data method was used incorporating the students’ multimedia outcome, questionnaires and semi-directive interviews. The following issues are discussed: what is the effect of such situated learning settings on motivation, commitment and computer literacy? What image did the French students have of the Australian students and which cultural aspects did they try to convey?

This article focuses on a major human factors–related issue that includes the undeniable role of cultural factors and cockpit automation and their serious impact on flight crew performance, communication, and aviation safety. The report concentrates on the flight crew performance of the Boeing 777–Asiana Airlines Flight 214 accident, by exploring issues concerning mode confusion and autothrottle systems. It also further reviews the vital role of cultural factors in aviation safety and provides a brief overview of past, related accidents. Automation progressions have been created in an attempt to design an error-free flight deck. However, to do that, the pilot must still thoroughly understand every component of the flight deck – most importantly, the automation. Otherwise, if pilots are not completely competent in terms of their automation, the slightest errors can lead to fatal accidents. As seen in the case of Asiana Flight 214, even though engineering designs and pilot training have greatly evolved over the years, there are many cultural, design, and communication factors that affect pilot performance. It is concluded that aviation systems designers, in cooperation with pilots and regulatory bodies, should lead the strategic effort of systematically addressing the serious issues of cockpit automation, human factors, and cultural issues, including their interactions, which will certainly lead to better solutions for safer flights.

The research dealt with Metaphor Sentences. The aims of this study were: (1) to find out the translation strategies of metaphors are used in The Magic of Thinking Big and (2) to describe the translation strategies maintain metaphors in The Magic of Thinking Big. The research was conducted by using qualitative design. The data of this study were sentences. The data were collected through documentary technique and the instrument was the documentary sheet. The technique of data analysis was descriptive. The finding of this study revealed that: (1) The metaphor in The magic of Thinking Big were translated by applying six translation strategies, namely: word for word Translation (5.3%) lieral translation (4.3%), faithful translation (57.5%), Free translation (3.2%), communicative translation (30.5%) and discursive creation was found (2.2%). (2) The metaphors are maintained that found in the Magic of Thinking Big are original metaphors turned into another original metaphors, stock metaphors turned into another stock metaphors, adapted metaphors turned into adapted metaphors, dead metaphors turned into dead metaphors, original metaphor turned into stock metaphor, stock metaphor turned into original metaphor, meanwhile, 10 original metaphors and 1 dead metaphor are no longer classified as metaphors. Language has special characteristic that is metaphor sentences, therefore in the case of translating of metaphor sentences in which their concept in unknown for readers, the translator often faces the problems to find out the translation strategies to translate metaphor in a source language (SL) and how the metaphor sentences are maintained in the target language (TL).Keywords : Metaphor, Translation Strategies, Maintain Metaphor

So this paper to study the  impact of emotional intelligence on leadership excellence of executive employee in public sector organization.Hence the objective of this  research   is to identify the  impact of emotional intelligence on leadership excellence of executive employee in Public Sector Organization in Ampara districtof Sri Lanka.emotional intelligence includes the verbal and non-verbal appraisal and expression of emotion, the regulation of emotion in the self and others, and the utilization of emotional content in problem solving. Cook (2006)[1]. Emotional intelligence is one of the  essential skill for leaders to manage their subordinate. Accordingly although there is some research done under “Emotional intelligence on leadership excellence of the executive employee in the public organization in Ampara district so this study full filed the gap. Based on the analysis, Self-awareness, Self-management, Social-awareness and Relationship management are the positively affect to the Leadership excellence. So, executive employees should consider about the Emotions of their subordinators when they completing their targets. leaders should pay the attention for recognize the situation, hove to impact their feelings for the performance & recognized their own feelings. Leaders should consider and see their own emotions when they work with others by listening carefully, understand the person by asking questions, identifying non-verbal expressions and solving problems without helming someone’s. Leadersshould consider their subordinators emotions when they find a common idea, government should give to moderate freedom to executive employees in public organization to take the decision with competing the private sector organizations.
