In general, this research aims to produce a valid magnetic induction experimental device as a medium forlearning physics in high school. The experimental device consists of experimental equipment and tool usagemanual. In particular, this research aims to design, build, and validate devices for magnetic inductionexperiments on coiled wire as a physics learning media according to the research development steps. Threeexperts and two physics teachers as users have been involved to provide an assessment of the experimentaldevices that have been built. Assessment is carried out on the construction and content of the experimentaldevice. The results of data analysis showed that every aspect of the assessment of the experimental tool wasdeclared valid with a very good category (index validity 3.34) and the manual for using experimental toolswas also declared valid with a very good category (index of validity 3.47). Thus, it can be said that themagnetic induction experimental device in circular wire is declared valid as a medium for physics learning.

The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of laboratory in physics subject at senior high schools in Banda Aceh. This study used descriptive quantitative approach with surveying method. The population of this study is all senior high schools in Banda Aceh and the sample is 6 schools, 140 students and 6 teachers and laboratory chief, the sample was chosen using random stratified disproportionate sampling technique which was categorized based on the school accreditation. The technique used in data collection was questionnaire and observation sheet. The data analysis was done using descriptive technique with percentage formula. The result shows that the effectiveness of the use of laboratory toward physics subject learning at senior highschools in Banda Aceh is in the category less effective (56,78%). The indicator percentage in input is 59,23 and in process is 57,67 with “enough” category, while the output is 53,43 with “less effective” category.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the IBMR learning model assisted by phet to improve the ability of representation in physics learning. The research design used quasi-experiment one group pre-test and post-test conducted on 20 students of Information Technology Education at Universitas PGRI Semarang who programmed basic physics courses. The research data was collected from pre-test and post-test the ability of representation supported by observations of the implementation of learning. Data analysis uses paired t-test and n-gain to calculate and determine the criteria of increase of the representation ability. The results showed that the implementation of the IBMR model assisted by phet simulation was effective in increasing the ability of representation of students with gain score <g> = 0,59 (moderate criteria).

In this work, we present the results of a research in which we aimed to evidence obstacles and advances in pre-service teachers’ conceptualization on a subject involving elementary Quantum Mechanics. We based our analysis on the theories due to David Ausubel and Gèrard Vergnaud to study Meaningful Learning patterns, both in predicative and operatory form of knowledge, of six students involved in a didactical intervention composed of six classes, in which we emphasized both similarities and differences between Classical and Quantum Physics. With this intervention, we intended to teach the concepts of Physical System, Dynamical Variables, State of a Physical System and Time Evolution. We guided our data analysis by the methodology of content analysis (Bardin, 2008) and it turned possible to map Meaningful Learning patterns involving the four concepts to which were associated a set of essential features (in the predicative stage) and a set of theorems-in-action (in the operatory stage) relating the aim-concepts in problem-solving or conceptual mapping.

Abstract The aim of this paper is to look at the extent and type of internationalization among Hungarian information technology (IT) small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the possible relationship between the degree of innovativeness and the internationalization of these companies. Information technologies play an important role in the Hungarian economy: this sector is one of the most R&D intensive industries in which many SMEs are active. The paper reviews relevant theories of internationalization in research, development and innovation (RDI) to give a broader picture of the environment in which SMEs have to succeed. This is followed by a secondary data analysis to show the situation of the industry in Hungary, then by an analysis of the survey data and interviews designed specifically for the purpose of this research. The new empirical results show that Hungarian IT SMEs are still at the beginning of the internationalization process: while aware of the advantages of collaborations and internationalization, they are still reluctant to venture out of their “safety zone” and therefore they collaborate only with their closest partners. Very few SMEs have decided to establish international RDI contacts. The analysis suggests that the main barriers in internationalization of the Hungarian SMEs are due to lack of capital, appropriate managerial capabilities and innovation-friendly economic environment. So far, most theories/empirical research have concentrated on the role and activities of multinational enterprises in the internationalization of RDI, while in the literature less relevant knowledge on SMEs is available. The aim of this paper is to contribute to this latter part of the literature by analyzing the international activities of innovative/R&D-intensive SMEs in Hungary.

The purpose of this research was to find out the descriptive of pre-service physics teachers understanding of the concept of electrical circuits, especially in the characteristic of series circuits and parallel circuits. The method used in this research was a descriptive method. The sample of this research was the fourth-grade students who took Basic Electronics course. The primary data of this research collected from the students’ test consisted of 12 multiple choices. Data analysis concluded that the student’s understanding of the concept of the electric circuit was low, with an average percentage of total indicators of 84.4%.

TEACHER’S VIEW ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF JAVANESE CULTURE  IN PHYSICS LEARNINGAbstractThis research is qualitative research to discover the views of physics teachers on the application of Javanese culture in learning physics. Ten respondents were selected using purposive sampling, namely physics teachers who have taught more than one year, assuming that they have enough experience in teaching physics in the classroom. Data collection was carried out using interview techniques with the help of interview guides. The results showed that most respondents felt interested in implementing Javanese culture in learning physics. Culture in the form of works and activities (rituals) can be used to explain some physical concepts such as sound waves, force, effort and energy, light, the equilibrium of rigid bodies, and rotational dynamics. The data obtained show that the type of culture in the form of values is considered more effective to strengthen positive character if implemented in the physics learning process.

Abstract Abstrak. This study aims to develop Moodle-Based E-Learning for Newton’s Laws in high school. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE approach. The e-learning was then assessed by media experts, material experts, and physics teachers. The instrument used is a Likert scale questionnaire. The developed model has a lot of interactions with the user as a student activity. The expert and user assessment show this Moodle-based e-learning for Newton’s Laws in high school is suitable for use in physics learning.
