Transcondylar and supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children are one of the most relevant and still not completely solved problems of modern pediatric traumatology. In the problem of condylar and supraorbital fractures of the humerus, the issues of diagnosis, choice of indications for surgical revision of the vascular-nervous bundle of the elbow area in this pathology are insufficiently covered. To solve the problems of the study, we analyzed the treatment of 313 victims with transcondylar and supracondylar fractures of the humerus, which were treated at the City Children's Clinical Hospital in Lviv in the period from 2013 to 2018. The structure of the distribution of arrays on the basis of rotational displacement in condylar fractures of the humerus is dominated by displacement up to 30°, which in the first group was found in 61.8% of cases, and in the second group - 69.2% of cases. The share of severe rotational displacements in the structure of group arrays is almost the same in both observation groups: 29.1% in the first group and 29.5% in the second group. Analysis of the proportion of extremely severe rotational displacements up to 90° in the structure of group arrays revealed that such victims were 7 times more among the victims of the first group than among the victims of the second group, due to the use of the proposed unified protocol scheme for diagnosis and treatment humeral fractures in pediatric patients, which avoids or reduces the difference in the occurrence of secondary displacements.

Annotation. One of the most frequent injuries of the distal end of the humerus is the trans-condylar and supracondylar fractures of the humerus, which make up 47.5-80% of all intraarticular fractures of the elbow joint in children. Among the injuries of the distal humerus, the supracondylar and supracondylar fractures occur with the greatest frequency and is one of the most common domestic injuries in children aged 3 to 12 years. Our work is based on a retrospective analysis of the treatment of 255 patients treated in the Lviv City Children's Hospital for the period 2013-2017. 83.1% of patients were diagnosed with flexion fracture, 16.9% – flexion fracture. Transvertebral fractures of the shoulder were diagnosed in 85.5% of cases of the study array, supragingival – in 14.5%. The treatment of patients with the consequences of injuries of the elbow joint presents great difficulties and remains one of the most difficult problems in pediatric traumatology. Depending on the presence of rotational displacement and the severity of the fracture, the following types of treatment are most often used: conservative, osteosynthesis with spokes or Ilizarov apparatus. An ideal reposition and stable fixation of fragments during these injuries is necessary not only to ensure timely consolidation of the fracture, restoration of the anatomical integrity and shape of the distal humerus, but also to prevent the development of deformation in the elbow joint. Deformations of the elbow joint during supracondylar and supracondylar fractures of the shoulder, unlike deformation of another localization, cannot be adjusted and subsequently only increase and as a result can lead to impaired function of the elbow joint, and often to disability already in childhood. Thus, complicated anatomical localization of supracondylar and supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children, great technical difficulties in comparing and fixing fragments, there is a high probability of neurological and vascular disorders, both at the time of injury and during the provision of medical care, impaired function of the elbow joint determine the need for further study of this problem.

Introduction: One of the most common injuries of the distal end of the humerus is through condylar and supraorbital fractures of the humerus, which account for 47.5-80% of all intra-articular fractures of the elbow in children [5,11,20]. Among the injuries of the distal humerus, condylar and supraorbital fractures are the most common and are one of the most common domestic injuries in children aged 3 to 12 years. Objective: to optimize the diagnosis and treatment tactics in children with complicated supragingival and supracondylar fractures of the humerus using the developed protocol scheme of medical care for victims with supragingival and supraglottic fractures of the humerus. Materials and methods: Our work is based on a retrospective analysis of the treatment of 255 patients treated at the Lviv City Children's Hospital for the period 2013-2017. Results: in the first group, conservative treatment was performed in 86 victims, which was 65.6% of the group. In 69 (80.2%) in the future conservative method of treatment remained the main. In 17 (19.8%) victims, the conservative method was replaced by surgery. In the second group, conservative treatment was performed in 72 cases, which was 58.1% of the group, but it was replaced by surgery only in 3 (4.2%) cases. Surgical treatment was performed in 62 (47.3% 0 victims of the first group and in 55 (44.3%) victims of the second group. Analysis of treatment results showed that in the first group complications were observed in 21.0% of cases, and in the second group Among the victims of the first group, anatomical complications were noted in 38.4%, and in the second group they were not present at all.Functional complications also prevailed in the first group, which was found in almost twice as often as in the second group. treatment in the first group was 9.2 ± 0.5 days, in the second group - 6.5 ± 0.4 days. Conclusions: Negative results of treatment are caused by the prevalence of complications of fractures of the distal humerus, high vulnerability of the post-traumatic elbow joint, as well as the fine anatomical organization of the distal humerus. The introduction of a unified protocol scheme for the treatment of condylar and supragingival fractures of the humerus in pediatric patients has significantly improved both the anatomical and functional outcomes of treatment of patients in this category.

Film Unyil puppet comes not just part of the entertainment world that can be enjoyed by people from the side of the story, music, and dialogue. However, there is more value in it which is a manifestation of the creator that can be absorbed into the charge for the benefit of educating the children of Indonesia to the public at large. The Unyil puppet created by the father of Drs. Suyadi is one of the works that are now widely known by the whole people of Indonesia. The process of creating a puppet Unyil done with simple materials and formation of character especially adapted to the realities of the existing rural region. Through this process, this research leads to the design process is fundamentally educational puppet inspired by the creation of Si Unyil puppet. The difference is the inspiring character created in this study is on the characters that exist in urban life, especially the city of Jakarta. Thus the results of this study are the pattern of how to shape the design of products through the creation of the puppet with the approach of urban culture.

AbstractMarital status has long been recognized as an important prognostic factor for many cancers, however its’ prognostic effect for patients with laryngeal cancer has not been fully examined. We retrospectively analyzed 8834 laryngeal cancer patients in the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results database from 2004 to 2010. Patients were divided into four groups: married, widowed, single, and divorced/separated. The difference in overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) of the various marital subgroups were calculated using the Kaplan–Meier curve. Multivariate Cox regression analysis screened for independent prognostic factors. Propensity score matching (PSM) was also conducted to minimize selection bias. We included 8834 eligible patients (4817 married, 894 widowed, 1732 single and 1391 divorced/separated) with laryngeal cancer. The 5-year OS and CSS of married, widowed, single, and separated/divorced patients were examined. Univariate and multivariate analyses found marital status to be an independent predictor of survival. Subgroup survival analysis showed that the OS and CSS rates in widowed patients were always the lowest in the various American Joint Committee on Cancer stages, irrespective of sex. Widowed patients demonstrated worse OS and CSS in the 1:1 matched group analysis. Among patients with laryngeal cancer, widowed patients represented the highest-risk group, with the lowest OS and CSS.

Abstract Purpose Non-unions of the distal humerus are rare complications of common children’s fractures such as radial condyle fractures and supracondylar fractures. The aim of this paper was to update the knowledge about etiology, reasons, management, and results of these troublesome, and sometimes debilitating entities. Methods The sparse literature concerning nonunions following condylar or supracondylar fractures was analyzed together with the presentation of some typical clinical cases. Results In most of the cases, non-unions were induced by neglect, unstable fixation, too early implant removal, too much revision surgery, and an inconsequent transfer of follow-up algorithms, or combinations of the above. Treatment of non-union should start as early as possible because the effort of required surgery increases with time that the nonunion has been neglected. Often a combination of stable fixation of the pseudarthrosis and correction of the elbow axis are necessary to achieve a satisfying outcome. Conclusion In pediatric traumatology, qualified and consequent care for children’s fractures of the distal humerus can prevent rare complications such as non-unions in almost any situation. If such a disturbance of healing is noticed, immediate and adequate, i.e. children specific surgical consequences achieve best results.

Many applications have relied on the hedonic pricing model (HPM) to measure the willingness-to-pay (WTP) for urban externalities and natural disasters. The classic HPM regresses housing price on a complete list of attributes/characteristics that include spatial or environmental amenities (or disamenities), such as floods, to retrieve the gradients of the market (marginal) WTP for such externalities. The aim of this paper is to propose an innovative methodological framework that extends the causal relations based on a spatial matching difference-in-differences (SM-DID) estimator, and which attempts to calculate the difference between sale price for similar goods within “treated” and “control” groups. To demonstrate the potential of the proposed spatial matching method, the researchers present an empirical investigation based on the case of a flood event recorded in the city of Laval (Québec, Canada) in 1998, using information on transactions occurring between 1995 and 2001. The research results show that the impact of flooding brings a negative premium on the housing price of about 20,000$ Canadian (CAN).

Background: Infusion reactions (IRs) are the most common adverse events (AEs) of infliximab (IFX) treatment in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Prophylactic premedication (PM) with corticosteroids or antihistamines prior to IFX infusions has been used in clinical practice, but its efficacy is not known. The aim of this study was to assess the influence of steroid PM on IR incidence in pediatric patients with IBD receiving IFX. Methods: We performed a case–control study that included pediatric patients with IBD receiving IFX. Patients were divided into four subgroups according to the agent and PM they received: Remicade (original drug) + PM, and two biosimilars—Reshma +/− PM, and Flixabi—PM. At our site, until 2018, PM with steroids was used as a part of standard IFX infusion (PM+); however, since then, this method has no longer been administered (PM−). IRs were divided into mild/severe reactions. Differences between subgroups were assessed with the appropriate chi-square test. Multivariate logistic regression was used to assess associations between PM and IR incidence, correcting for co-medication usage. Results: There were 105 children (55 PM+, 44 male, mean age 15 years) included in the study who received 1276 infusions. There was no difference between the PM+ and PM− subgroups, either in incidence of IR (18.2% vs. 16.0% of patients, p > 0.05) or in percentage of infusions followed by IR (2.02% vs. 1.02% of infusions, p > 0.5). The OR of developing IR when using PM was 0.34, and the difference in IRs ratio in PM+ and PM− patients was not statistically significant (95% CI, 0.034–1.9). There were 11/18 (61.1%) severe IRs (anaphylactic shock) reported in all patients (both PM+ and PM−). Conclusion: At our site, the incidence of IR was low, and PM did not decrease the incidence of IR in pediatric patients with IBD receiving IFX. These results indicate that PM with steroids should not be a standard part of IFX infusion to prevent IR.

The paper presents the results of studies of epitaphs for children up to almost eight years of age from the city of Rome (3rd-4th c. – B. Stawoska-Jundziłł, Vixit cum parentibus. Children aged under seven in Christian families from Rome of 3rd-4th c., Bydgoszcz 2008) in comparison with the views of John Chrysostom on the upbringing of small children. The content of over 2000 children from Rome demonstrates a high status of even the youngest offspring in the Christian families from this city. The founders cared for their religious „endowment”, bestowed their love on them and tried to remember them as members of the family even if they had died after a few days or months. It was unquestionably believed that small children are immediately saved, go to God and commune with the saints. Thanks to this the family could hope for their support and prayers. Whereas, John Chrysostom only casually mentions small children and, what is more, ambivalently: on one hand presenting them on the basis of thorough observations of their behavior and looking after them and on the other hand as mindless creatures, a harbinger of valuable person following the Stoics e.g. Seneca. As far as the most important for me question of the death of small children is concerned he takes a stand similar to that of the Romans. The children are really without sins (they did not commit them consciously) so God shall accept them only through the hardships of illness and death. Now they are asleep (unlike in the studied epitaphs) but they will rise from the dead and join their parents. Thus, the despair after their death is pointless; God decided the best for them. The difference lies in the fact that the founders of epitaphs more decidedly see the perfection of posthumous existence of even the smallest children who there reach their full maturity whereas John does not seem to be interested in this issue since he directs his teaching mostly to maturing and mature Christians in the earthly life and not in the beyond.

This study aims to compare the perceptions of psychologists and who do people ruqyah to trans possession phenomena. This research is a comparative descriptive study using a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study amounted to 6 people consisting of 3 people who work as psychologists and 3 people who work as who do people ruqyah in the Pondok Sehat Al-Wahida. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. Analysis of the data used with descriptive-comparative methods.Based on the results of the research can be concluded that there are differences and similarities of perceptions of psychologists and people who do ruqyah in viewing at the trance phenomenon in the city of Banjarmasin. The difference between the perception of psychologists and people who do ruqyah in viewing the phenomenon of trance is that psychologists view the phenomenon of possession using psychological theory, while peruqyah views the phenomenon of possession using Islamic studies so that treatment given by psychologists and people who do ruqyah has this difference in accordance with their scientific competencies. As for the similarities between the perception of psychologists and people who the ruqyah in viewing at  the phenomenon of possession can be caused by psychological problems but they also believe in Islamic studies can be caused by a genie that penetrates the body,
